OOC: Before you can enter Professor Antares' office, you must post here first. Please knock, and once you are invited in by the professor, you are free to proceed.


This is a waiting area in the most literal sense - in other words, some empty space no one has found any other use for where students wait until they are allowed to enter Professor Antares' office. The professor, for once recalling that not everyone can make do with a cardboard box, has set out a few chairs for everyone who needs to catch his or her breath after the long trek up the Tower to sit down on.

Cardboard boxes are not completely absent, however. One, turned upside down, has been placed next to the door leading into the office. A stack of magazines has been arranged on top of it, scientific journals that Professor Antares has subscribed to. The Astrophysical Journal, Astronomy and Astrophysics, and Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society are always slightly out of date as Professor Antares keeps the newest ones in his office to catch up on developments in his field.

But what are a few weeks on a cosmic scale? Feel like reading about extra-galactic microquasars? Inflationary spacetime? Weakly interacting massive particle detection? Flip through uncomprehendingly until the professor calls you into his office!

Maddie found the office and knocked on the door, then sat down to wait until the proffessor called her in. She pulled a book out of her bag and began to read

Apollo decided that the best teacher to meet first would have to be one of the newest, and since he loved Astronomy, (but wasn't neccesarily the 'Astronomy Guru,'...he knew enough), he made the trek up the Astronomy tower to meet Professor Antares.

He wasn't sure if he should knock or not, but figured since he was the only one in the waiting room at the moment, it would be his best bet, to go ahead and knock.

Knock, Knock, Knock.

When the door didnt instantaneously open, he sat in the chair straight across from the door, grabbing The Astrophysical Journal that was on the top of the pile of magazines, and waited.

Walking up the stairs easily, having had over 3 years of practice, William made it to the Astronomy tower, thinking it would be a good idea to greet the new professor. And tell him that William was horrible at this class and that he knew he was going to fail. Yup self esteem there buddy boy he thought as he stopped, wiping a bead of sweat from his brow as he leaned against the wall.

Sigh.

He could have sworn the stairs were steeper this year, though he knew it was impossible. Wait, nothing was impossible at Hogwarts he remembered breathing deeply as he moved his leg to get rid of a cramp.

"We need an elevator in this place." he mumbled to himself as he glanced at the magazines his eyes bulging slightly. Astro - what he thought picking up the first magazine he saw and flipped it open. Looking up he shrugged, walking up to the door and knocked three times in quick recession before moving back to his seat and sitting down. If his mother had taught him anything it was to be polite to those who could give you detentions.

A door creaked, then clicked shut. There was the sound of approaching footsteps, and appearing around the corner was the person those footsteps originated from. Risu had just collected a night's worth of telescope data. A stack of paper, full of complicated-looking figures printed neatly in orderly columns, was lodged in his arms. Going through the stack was likely to be tedious, repetitive work, so he was secretly glad to discover he would be able to put it off for a little while - what he generously referred to as his waiting room was full of students.

"Oh. Hello, everyone," Risu said, then realised that one of the faces was familiar. "Good afternoon, Miss Force." He nodded in the direction of his office door. It swung open. Glancing through it, Risu noticed how untidy his desk was already, after only having been in use for a few days. He would have to tidy up after the students were gone, he decided.

Right.

"Come on in then, the three of you." Risu turned and entered his office, giving the door a healthy prod with his foot as he passed to open it further. "Could the last one in close it, please?"

'Afternoon, Sir' smiled Maddie, and went into the office behind him, leaving the door open for the others

Kevin wandered up to the Astronomy tower to introduce himself to the new professor he knocked on the door and waited to be allowed into the office

OOC: Sorry, I was going to wait until everyone had left the good professor's office, but it seems like we might still be a little while, so I'm just letting your character in now. And clone Risu in his own office.

Risu accompanied the last student to the door. As he was grabbing the handle to close it, he noticed yet another person sitting in his waiting area. "Oh, hello!" he said brightly. "Come on in."

No! A door! Ellie did not want a door. She wanted the professor.

She sighed and knocked and tapped her foot impatiently.

She neeeeeeeeded to talk to him!

Bounding up the stairs to see Professor Antares, Ty came face to face with a waiting area. Again. Only he liked this one - it had cool stuff in it. Knocking on the door -for he really did need to speak to the Professor urgently- Ty occupied himself with leafing through the magazines, smiling at all the really pretty but totally unidentifiable pictures.

Astronomy was a wicked yet impossible to understand subject. Ty had deducted that much after the first lesson, during which he had gazed at the Professor in a kind of stupid glazed over look. Very weird.

A muffled voice - clearly strained and hectic - was audible through the closed door: "I hope that was two people who just knocked, not one very impatient student. Come in!"

OOC: I'm on holiday.

Getting up to the top floor wasn't as hard as it used to be now that Jake was taller. He was relatively surprised to find himself up in the tower, but it was a pleasant surprise. The boy strolled down the corridor in a set of his muggle clothes rather than robes (hey, wasn't class time), in particular, faded denim jeans and a really old shirt that used to belong to his dad.

'Til Jake stole it.

Hehe.

Reaching the door, Jake knocked five times super quickly and leant against the door to wait, hands back in his pockets.

Kate reached Prof. Antares´office and knocked on the door two times. Then, waited for him to answer

Risu pulled the door open and glanced outside. A rush of icy air, colder even than the corridor, drifted into the waiting area - past the professor's slightly exaggerated form. He was wearing a number of large and comfortable-looking sweaters. They gave the impression that he was trying to look like a thinner and more intellectual version of the Michelin Man.

His nose was bright pink. "My apologies," Risu said with a sniff, "I seem to have neglected to tell the House-elves to keep my office heated while I was gone. It's rather chilly in there now." He shrugged, gently dislodging several layers of clothing. "Come on in."

"Woah," Jake gasped as the door he was leaning on opened and he had to thrust a foot back to stay upright. It... was cold in there.

Turning to face the professor with the funny name, Jake looked puzzled until he heard the explanation. "Gone...?"
