Amy walked up to the sleeping proffessor, Proffessor, she asked gently, hoping he would of heard her

Iris walked into the library, with very serious intentions. She didn't want to read there. No. She was going to look for the librarian. He was going to help her with her Arithmancy Homework. Hopefully.

She walked to the reference desk, and tapped on the desk lightly to get Mister Kapoor's attention, "Uh... 'Scuse me, Sir... Can I ask you a favour, please?" She said in a quiet tone, with her Arithmancy book in her arms and her bag over her shoulder.

"Ah, of course! A very fascinating subject!" So what if he was a little biased towards it. "Well, I believe I can help you with that." He said as he took not of some book titles and their locations for her. "Have you spoken to Professor Kingsley?" He fanned the little note card on which he'd written the information preferring to dry it the muggle way versus a drying charm, because his hand had gotten quick a smear of ink on it as he wrote from his favourite, although leaky pen. He blew on it once and handed it to the young lady. "There you are."

Kapoor scratched a section of his beard with an ink-stained hand. "I don't know." He said sounding genuinely confused. The librarian knew this wasn't a satisfactory answer, but it really had become something of a second nature to him and he did not recall how it had been done. "But we do have books on Eastern charms which may help."

"Transfiguration? We have lots. Was there any particular thing about Transfiguration that you wished to research, sir?" he was already thumbing his inky hands through the call cards. It would take him a while still before he could commit the knowledge of just where everything was. How Angela did it, he'd never know. There again, she'd been a librarian longer.

"Hello there!" He said, turning to the new face that had approached the desk. "How may I help you?" He asked cheerfully.

"Of course, you may. I only hope I'll be able to help you." The librarian's voice boomed enthusiastically. "Now, what seems to be the problem?"

The Librarian smiled warmly and -forgetting himself- waved towards the direction of the soft tapping which he learned to recognize as Arienna Malone's guiding cane. "I'll be right with you, Miss Malone." She carried a box with her. H'mm. Perhaps, it held inside of it a treasure of sweeties or better yet, frogs!

Alex walked hesistantly into the Library and up to the desk, she didn't know what the Professor had for choices so she decided to ask him. "Uh..Sir, I was wondering if you had any interesting books on DADA or Dueling." Alex asked shyly smiling at the Professor she just wanted something to read while she was relaxing no use to become stressed after all.

Amy smiled at the librarian, well professor, I was wondering if you would like any help around the liabary? Amy asked him wringing her hands and breathing in the familiar book-y smell

Maddie smiled and pulled Justin up to the counter
'Hello again Proffessor, we were just wondering if there were any books that might help us learn about spells to improve the memory?'

Justin suddenly fell into the desk. "And a spell that works fast. How did I miss that desk?" he added picking himself up off the hard floor.

Maddie smiled and surpressed her laughter as Justin walkked into the desk
'You alright?' she asked, and then looked at Mr. Kapoor again 'You know, maybe we could look for books on spells to cure clumsiness as well'

Justin smiled sarcastically. "Yeah I'm fine and good idea" he replied trying to hide his laughter. He knew it was hard for Maddie to stop herself from laughing.

'Glad that you're OK' said Maddie, grinning 'So, that would be memory improving spells, and spells to help clumsy people!' she said to Mr Kapoor, still giggling

Justin then began to choke. "I have no idea but I'm considering going to see the nurse though" he said between the coughs. He hated having a cough, it meant he ended up in coughing fits almost every 15 minutes.

Maddie burst out laughing
'Justin, seriously, are you OK?' she asked, trying not to laugh

Justin finally managed to stop choking. "Yeah I'm fine" he replied. He really wanted to get rid of this cough like soon-ish. "Any spells on keeping away coughs too" he said to Mr Kapoor.

"Specifically," Rafe cleared his throat. Confidence was key. "I would like to know more about Animagi. I've read about five books already on theory and I would like to further my knowledge with books on how to further that theory by means of putting it into action." Rafe kept eye contact. What he really needed was something probably in the restricted section. "I just was a better understanding, not to practice of course sir, but to gain this knowledge for me to perhaps pursue such a thing after I leave."

With a bunch of parchments and a quill, Treyen approached the man he knew would be there. Mr/Professor Kapoor.

There were plenty of kids here, asking for help, as he did last year. But now he was not coming to ask for help. He was asking for information. As soon as David Kapoor got a little time to spare.

"Hello, sir! How have you been?" he greeted, just to let him know he was in there. And he waited.

Kapoor tried unsucessfully to supress a chuckle as the students asked him for near a series of books. "H'mm, for memory, simple short term things can be found in the 'Spells for Healing' by Mary Goodeed, but if you have amnesia like symptoms you might want to try potions." That much he knew off of the top of his head as he thumbed through the cards in search of something that might have anything in it for clumsiness. "Aha! 'Charms to Promote Grace and Agility for the Magical Athlete'. I believe I just checked this one back in." He said getting up and heading towards a wheeled cart and picking up a few volumes before selecting an antiqued looking blue hardback. "Here you are." He said handing it over to the students.

"You may want to try 'Intermediate Transfiguration' by Bartholomew Hess. It has many good tips and things that could help you sharpen your practice of the subject." And it would help if the student was intermediate, though Kapoor couldn't tell by looking at him. He snatched a small swatch of parchment and scrolled down the title and it's location handing it over to the student with a smile.

"Mr. Lockhart! Good to see you! I've been well, thank you for asking. Looking for anything in particular?" He said greeting the familiar face.

Parchments and quill. If Treyen was doing some other research he'd brought less things along. But...he sort of was doing research.

Grin. Grin.

And a very sweet face.

"Well, Sir, I've been looking for you, actually" he nodded, one single nod, though, it's not like he's been looking for him throughout the school, just in here, "You see, we've been working something in Arithmancy...and, well, I though...if you can...of course...let me do you a reading" he ended, another nod, it was for educational purposes only, they were after all asked to practice their skills, and what better way than do that with Mr. Kapoor? He was part of Staff. And one that had actually taught him something that isn't required.

So, yeah, pretty cool, huh?

"What do you say?" because, then if the answer was yes, then Treyen will be asking the other questions.

Ari smiled widely, giving a small bow with her head, "Of course, Sir." She bothered now to simply set down the box, a dull glass clunk! sounding from inside. She was never one to carry heavy things around, but this present was rather special, and she would wait for a rare Mister-Kapoor-Is-Really-Honestly-Not-Busy-Right-Now moment.

She knew that could take all day, but she had nowhere terribly important to be.

"Oh, Arthimancy!" He said in a sort of happy bellow. "What a fascinating topic. I'd be more than happy to help you with your reading practice, Mr. Lockhart. What numbers have you been learning about Professor Hadley's class?"

"If you want to, Miss Malone, you may wait for me in my office. Please excuse the mess, we just had a meeting in there and there is still a bit of clutter, But I shall be in there shortly." He took her not-beginning to say what she had come for to mean that it was private. At least he thought it might not be something she could easily say in front of others, for in the past, upon her visits she usually spoke more eagerly. She didn't seem in a sour mood so he hoped nothing was too wrong.

She nodded again silently and picked the box back up, "See you there."

No pun intended.

Yes! Arithmancy! Though, Treyen did prefer Divination for some reason.

Numbers were...numbers.

The boy smiled, "Awesome! Thank you, Mr. Kapoor" he said, with a nod, and took the first parchment he could take from the bunch he was holding. What numbers? "We're working with Core numbers, Sir, they've been...rather interesting, but the interpretations of my numbers are not too much of my liking" mainly because the textbook interpretation had very little to do with who he truly was, "Those are four Core numbers, but...I'd only like to practice with one of those with you, Sir, and that one is..." he eyed the parchment to see what was already written in it, "...the Expression/Destiny number" he nodded, yes, that's the one.

Surely, Prof./Mr. Kapoor knew something of Arithmancy already, but he sort of explained a bit, "See, that number is supposed to tell us what we're supposed to do in life, and how to accomplish things..." mostly, yes, "...it isn't accurate, of course, and interpretations aren't either...but, I'd like to try it, all I need is your full name, Sir..." another nod, and now a serious face, "...first, middle...and, I already know your last one" after this he smiled.

There.

Kapoor sat back and smiled as Treyen explained his Arithmancy needs. He was not only happy to oblige the young Hufflepuff, but excited about being apart of his learning experience. It made him realized how very much he missed teaching.

While Treyen spoke, Kapoor summoned a chair for him and dug into his desk for a self inking quill that was almost out of ink and a clean sheet of parchment. The put the ink and parchment down upon his desk and slid them over to Treyen. "Are you ready? The full name as it is written upon my marriage registry is David Chittaranjan Kapoor." He said with a smile.

Yes! He was ready!

Er, what? Chitta--huh? It was way too long! Though, he was not the one to complain about that, surely Sebastien was longer than Treyen, but at least Sebastien was easy enough to pronounce.

"That's with two T's, right?" aha, it better be, because he was going to begin the calculations anyway. David Chittaran--wait..."Chittaranjan, right?" hopefully it would be correct. David Chittaranjan Kapoor.

Okay, Treyen wrote the name in the parchment, and then proceeded too separate the letters beneath the name, that way, Professor Hadley will know whose name it was in the first place (in case she couldn't put the letters together). She's a girl, and girls are complicated, better to ease things up for her.

He conspicuously eyed Mr./Prof. Kapoor just to make sure the name was written correctly, because he could see the parchment from where he was standing.

Man! Those were a great deal of numbers! "So, what I'm doing is assigning a number to each letter, I'll be adding those up to get a single digit number..." he said, gesturing to the little piece of paper containing the equivalence of letters in numbers, which he took out without anyone noticing, "...and then, when the adding up is done, with the help of the textbook..." which was right there, see? "...I'll interpret your Expression/Destiny number" mmmhmm, it was easy as cake, except baking cakes wasn't really easy.

One! The number one! (If...he'd done the calculations right, and the numbers seemed to add up correctly, so, it was number one).

"So, your number is 1" he said, and opened the textbook page only to find..."In here it says, 'ONE (1): Your mission in life is to cultivate the self and to become a leader. Your purpose in life is to be indomitable, take the initiative, be independent, original, innovative and take charge - all to develop your sense of self, your will, and your determination. Learning to stand on your own, think for yourself, and individuate your character, as well as new things, new ideas, and unique activities provide great opportunity for your to approach your destiny. You are destined for leadership - be it and teach it.'" now, it was interpretation time!

It was quite a great number, wasn't it?

Perhaps if the Headmaster decided to step down, perhaps Kapoor could step in?

Clearly, he knew little of Mr./Prof. Kapoor, so, his interpretation should be rather interesting, and if he got it somehow right, then it'd be brilliant! But, now, he was focused. "I think, this is slightly redundant, because a leader must possess all those qualities and become the greater person before he can lead, so it's best to think outside the box..." which he was trying hard to do, "...perhaps, I ought to think 'leader' in another context, and not the public context" like, not Headmaster or Minister type of leader, but one for himself, "You're your own leader, because life will carry out so many different situations that will allow you to follow the path you think you should, without anything getting in your way" then, he thought of something he already knew...

..."You were a Divination Professor, which I now believe it to be a most accurate decision in your life, because in order to pursue anything involving Divination one must be open-minded, and take new ideas and try to make them work...like a leader usually does" he nodded, and continued, "Besides that, it is a rather tricky and subjective area, Divination, and life (of course), so the mind works alone...and grows on its own...and learns for itself...and thinks for the individual..." unless people shared thoughts, and while it is possible, let's pretend it is not for this sole purpose.

"The mind is also connected to reading, and books, and at this moment you're in charge of books, sort of...but I don't think this is the end, I think all these things need to come together and develop into something more, perhaps...sharing the knowledge?" now Treyen was mostly thinking out loud, and probably not making sense, so he decided to stop.

All the while, he was writing a few keywords in the parchment.

"Anyway, to sum up, you're the one who makes your own destiny, and in your case, you seemed to have made the right one, according to Arithmancy" he looked up, and smiled, "What do you think?" the boy asked, needless to say, his head was still circling around a few thoughts, but he tried to wash them away because he'd said enough.

"Two T's. Yes, that's correct." He smiled realizing it must have been an unusual name to calculate outside of it's home country, but was pleasantly surprised to see that Treyen has spelled it correctly. "It means 'Joy of the inner mind'."

Listening to Treyen calculate and interpret his expression number, made Kapoor feel actual regret that the boy wasn't in any of his classes. Kapoor remembered Kaika being very good at the subject, but she seemed a little more reserved than Treyen was. He, Treyen, seemed to keep going even when he might've been more easily able to stop. He had perseverance! And, Kapoor couldn't help but admire that about him.

"What do I think? You're not as bad at interpreting the information as you might imagine. If I were a wizard seeking an Arithmancy reading, I would have paid you for the reading."

"But, I'll let Professor Hadley reward you with house points if she choses to." He couldn't imagine he'd have done any better were he in Treyen's shoes. "Excellent, Mr. Lockhart! Well done! You'll make a fine Arithmancer."
