Beside a window to the left of the Great Hall is a rather green coloured booth. The table is covered in flowers ranging from plain and simple to exotic (of both muggle and magical nature), bowls of seeds, and fertilizers from all around the world , each with their own special properties. The table is being manned by two lovely women: Adrienne Dior, professional landscape designer, and Amara Ceres, a world famous horticulturist.

Come on up and ask some questions! As a treat for your time, the ladies have provided some cute little pots (many different animals), different types of seeds, and fertilizers. Each bowl fertilizer composes of their own magical qualities, so go on an explore! Be creative!

The first table that caught Tess' eyes was the one with the flowers. Horticulture. The art or practice of garden cultivation and management. She was only a first year, and she wasn't sure what she wanted to be when she grew up, but this table seemed interesting.

Woah, Ced was grateful that he had finally found the right booth where he'd like to spend more time than any other booths. He liked that there was a booth 'bout plants and all, and he would really explore every single thing on in the booth. For him, being a herbologist and/or horticulturist was a job that would be just like he were just doing his hobby and all.

He walked toward the booth in a very upbeat mode. And he had immediately established interest for the booth. He studied every single plants, fertilizers and such. He found a plant which usually grows in soil but this time, it was growing in water. "Fascinating. Hydroponics is indeed such a great alternative." He observed and he cocked an eye upon the really cute little pots. He turned to it and started observing again. "Nyokki. Kids will like those pet plants."

Dior regarded the next student with interest. This one was cute too. And smart. Wow.

"I agree, hydroponics is wonderful. With the right nutrients, almost anything can be achieved." She smiled as the discussion of the cute pots. "Aren't they adorable?? I think I have one of every animal in my house. Tee hee. Would you like to see a pamphlet?" Adrienne held one out to the boy.

ooc: Outside & Inside

This day Abbi decided turned out to be a good one, something that would help diffuse her rising confusion about this world. A Job Fair! She could browse around and study and learn as much as she can so when her classes starts she'll know what they are taking about! So giddy she was. Plants booth thingie looked the easiest, then she'd go that mountain thing, hmm. She approached the booth and stared at the lovely plants then at the adults, they must be witches, like she'd be one day when she grew up?

"Ohh these are nice pots" Abbi sighed dreamily as she stroked the pink pig, "Excuse me" she asked the nearest adult. "What is this booth about? I mean, i know it's herbology and plants and all things relative to earth, but what do you do when you grow up?"

Cedric looked up at the operator of the booth and a slight smile registered upon his face. "They are adorable. Perhaps you have a badger Nyokki?" He asked enthusiastically. He was wondering though if those cute pet plants could be bought like, right now. "Yes please, and thanks." He grinned upon receiving the pamphlet from the woman.

And... there was something he had to ask, discuss maybe. "Do you believe that plants have feelings too? I think they do. They sometime gives me a tingling sensation whenever I'll prune them. I once have read from a book that they'll give you that tingling sensation when they don't like what you're doing to them.

"And in order to successfully prune them without actually hurting them, you have to ask permission and explain why they need to be pruned." He finished and he just hoped that he did make sense and his point had been explained clearly. And then he started reading the pamphlet. "Ugh, I guess I have to do good on Potions since now." He muttered under his breath. He'd like to be a herbologist and/or horticulturist of course so he needed to do what it takes to be one. Shrug.

Amara was at the back...aka their little storage, and was making sure they had enough of those little pots for all the students. Seeing that they were perfectly fine, she walked outside of their little stand and smiled at everyone that passed by. There were students already conversing with her colleague, Adrienne, but one little childe had just approached. "Hello there!" She smiled gently, wondering what this intelligent student would ask. "Oh...there are SO many things you could do." Nod. "For example, my colleague here," she gestured towards Adrienne, "...is a landscape designer. That means you'll be able to plan and actually work out the way you want a certain place to look like - forming and deciding how a garden, park or any other place should be."

"Or..." smirk, "Like myself, I'm a horticulturist, which enables me to investigate and research the different soils, seeds and way to make our plants more healthier and nutritive. You get to work with all different types of plants and flowers. Even trees. You'll be able to contribute something, help out the inviroment - from which both humans and plants benifit GREATLY from. " Like really.

Hmmm. "Adrienne," she turned to the woman, "Maybe you'd like to add something?" She was, afterall, one of the top landscape designers in the world. Y'know, both muggle and wizarding world. Hehe.

The flowers and green-ness caught Selena's eyes as she walked around. They were all gorgeous. 'It must be the table for Herbology...' Selena thought to herself as she looked at them more.
"Excuse me, but what exactly do you do as a Horticulurtist and what other options are there in the field of Herbology?" Selena was a first year, but she wanted to know more about every job. It was best to keep her options open.

"A badger nyokki? Hmm.." Adrienne turned and gently ruffled through a box full of the cute pots. Badger. Badger. Badddgerrrr...ah! There! "For you," she smiled, pulling the badger pot out and handing it over to the boy.

Awwww, he was so cute! "I like you." Adrienne bounced. "So young, yet you understand the world of the flora. They are not just another flower. They are something to be respected and treated with affection and compassion."

She watched him as he read the pamphlet, frowning gently as he muttered under his breath. "Well, you don't have to do exceptionally...you just need to pass," she chuckled gently.

His eyes glistened as the generous woman handed him a badger Nyokki. It looked really great, he was really certain that his friend would like it very much. "Aw. Is this um, for me? Like for free?" He asked merrily, holding the pet plant in a glazed ceramic shaped like an egg.

"Oh, thank you. I like you too 'cause you seem kind and very passionate to the plants." He told her as a genuine smile met his lips. He really liked people whose passion was same like his.

"Really? So an 'acceptable' is okay?" He smirked, he didn't usually sound like an idiot.

Abbi loved this woman. Period. She just gave a different view of the world she was so terrified to even live in, let alone try to learn. What she just explained made it still like her world, what did they call it here, yeah muggle world.

"Woohw, so beautiful" She sighed, eyes sparkling with full fledged interest at the woman, "that's very normal work, how does magic incorporate into all this? Do you use magic at all in your work?"

Selena opened it up. Oooh. "Wow, the plants are beautiful," Selena said. "Which one do you do?" Selena asked. Landscape design seemed pretty interesting.

"An 'acceptable' is acceptable!" Adrienne nodded, turning around and pulling the bowls on the table forward. "And you, it is yours for free. But, you can't leave with it empty. There are different fertilizers here and seeds. Why don't you plant a little something inside?"

"I am a landscape designer. I've done landscapes all over the world. I can't imagine having any other job," she sighed happily. "Anything catching your eye?"

"Well, it's like this. It is my job to take an area of green, plain looking land and turn it into something extraordinary. I do anything and everything from planting trees and all sorts of flora native to that area to building structures and altering the land a bit to fit some features in. For example, sometimes I have to alter the land to put a pond in or make a mini waterfall. I beautify the earth."

Selena nodded. "How do you decide which to put in? It's a bit like art, isn't it?" Selena asked. "What's the process like?"

Hmm. Ced wasn't sure what to plant on his badger-designed pot. "Perhaps you could choose a seed for me. Something simple yet nice will suffice." He grinned, and started observing different kinds of plants, seeds and such that was too interesting to resist.

"And umm, 'bout the fertilizer. A bit of organic fertilizer made of compost soil will do." He smiled at the woman again and later asked with a grin plastered on his face, "So how's it like being a horticulturist?"

Adrienne thought carefully. "Yes, I suppose you could say it is a little bit like art. When it comes to deciding, you have to consider all the elements. When it's finished, it should be a smooth flow from one flora to the next. You should feel a sense of...harmony. The process can be tedious. You should plan it out on paper and go through a process of trial and error, until you get a plan that feels right to you. I like to think that there is instinct involve. Go with what makes sense to you."

Hmmm, seeds? "Well, what is your favourite plant?" While waiting for a reply, Adrienne pulled forward a bowl of soil forward and some fertilizer.

"Ohhh, it is a wonderful career. You get to be out in nature and getting your hands dirty. Not to mention, you can get a nice tan," she laughed.

Selena nodded as she took in it all. It was like creating a new world. "So what do you enjoy about doing this?" Selena asked. She didn't see why she would take a job in this field as opposed to being an artist.

Adrienne paused and thought carefully. "Well, I enjoy being outdoors and I love art and drawing. This just seemed to be the best of both worlds and I've enjoyed it ever since."

Amara smiled brightly at the young girl, seeing her interest perk up.
Normal work? Why yes... "It is. But it's what you do that makes it special." She nodded and continued, answering the next question. "It is with magic that you give your work the extra touch. See, when researching and investigating plants and herbs, you are able to use magic to penetrate any barrier you might come across. For example, one time, I was researching the properties of the Açaí Palm fruit, and came across their antioxidant attributes. I wanted to see what kind of effect it could have on another plant...to help it grow stronger and better. If I would have done it the Muggle way, I would have had to start from the beginning...having to wait months for the plant to grow and watch it progress. But thanks to magic, I was able to speed up the process, even make a few accomodations, and see the result right away." It was amazing!

"And thanks to magic, I'm also able to reverse anything that might have been done to a plant. You see, they are living things too, even if they dont have ears or mouths or whatever...you have to treat them delicately. It's only then that you'll be able to fully start helping and improving the enviroment."

Oh...Amara really liked to talk.
'Blame' her passion for plants. Hehe.

From all the lessons in this school Herbology is probably the best. This small green table with all types of interesting and exotic plants caught her eye. She walked up to the table and asked, "Excuse me, I was wandering if you know any magical plants with a good refreshing smell." She smile and then added quickly, "And that are not dangerous." She hates danger it made her sweat and swear can ruin her make-up.
