Professor Macadrian Shackleton-Clark unlocked the doors to the Ancient Runes classroom and propped them open with a Sticking Spell. She glanced around the room as she walked further into it and attempted to assess how she felt about its layout. It was certainly different than her classroom on the second floor and she wasn't sure if she liked the way it flowed. That is, until she crossed over to the window and saw how wonderful the view from this level of the castle truly was. At that moment, the room won her over and Macadrian felt comfortable about teaching in that space.

She happily strolled over to her desk and took a seat, waiting for the students to enter the classroom and take theirs.

Ellie walked into the classroom. She was just passing by to look at the notice board. But it was unlocked. She had a scared look on her face. She didn't know class started!

Entering, she realized that it hadn't. In fact, she was first there. Okay. Good. She walked in and took a seat.

"Hey there Professor."

Alex entered the room with a confidence she didn't feel sitting down near the middle, "Hello Professor, How are you?" She asked with a small smile.

Ancient Runes! One of her more favorite subjects of course, but she didn't know what it was going to be like with this new teacher. Whoever it was.

Skipping, yes skipping, to the classroom, Evelyn smiled as she slowed down and entered the room, ready to give whoever it was a BIG OL' HUG to welcome them to the school. Since Lupa was gone, obviously there was a new teacher right?

Seeing who it was though, she didn't know whether to be disappointed or relieved! For one, it was Professor Shackleton who she knew already, but two, she couldn't give the big ol' hug. Since, the Professor was already sitting down, and she technically was new. Humph.

"Good day, Professor." she happily said instead and went to go sit down in the front. A good nights sleep did wonders for her! She felt refreshed, her mood was better, and was ready to learn! WOOo! Learning!

Another class, another new professor. By this point, Vashti was pretty much completely over being upset over nearly all the professors leaving and was quite excited meeting all the new ones. And so, walking into Ancient Runes, she smiled brightly at the professor sitting at her desk. "Hello, Professor!" she said before quickly finding a seat.

Rae was still dazed and who knows how shes actually managed to get to classes. She can't remember getting to places, she never has her mind focused. Not since she was in the flower garden.. She dragged her feet into the classroom with her blank expression until she found a place to sit and laid her head on the desk until class started.

Selena wondered what Ancient Runes would be like. She walked into the classroom and smiled at the teacher. "Hello Professor, I hope you're doing well," Selena greeted before sitting down near the front and pulling out her notebook from her bag and a quill.

Destiny, who was walking behind Evelyn the whole time, snickered as her friend started to skip into class. She was either really excited about this class, or she was on a MAJOR sugar rush. Either way, her friend was weird, and Destiny was still creeped out by her.

She walked into the classroom, hoping that Lupa was there. No, she wasn't. Heh, Shackleton would have to do she supposed, and gave the woman a smile, "Hello Professor!"

Of course she took a seat next to Evelyn..even if she was scared to.

Walking towards the door to the Ancient Runes class, Lysandra viewed in awe at the fantastic view from the fifth floor. She walked through the door and saw the Professor sitting at her desk. Good day, Professor she said as she, again started towards the back of the class, were no one sat next to her, which she really didn't mind but she never had anyone to talk to.

Patrolcus walked into the classroom, with a slow moving step. He would not deny it, Ancient Runes was not this favourite class, but they can't all be.
He passed the new Professor "Good Morning Professor", as he took his seat he thought, new teacher, new direction. Maybe some fresh blood would help him enjoy the class room.

he would have to wait and see.

Jimbo sauntered into the Ancient Runes classroom on his own, looking around like a curious child, even though he'd been in here before. He was no good at Ancient Runes, but it didn't annoy or upset him as much as Arithmancy. So, as he was heading over to his seat he passed the professor and gave her a smile.

"Hullo, Professor! How are you today?" If he didn't like the subject, maybe liking the Professor would make the class more bearable. That is, if the Professor was as nice as she looked.

Professor Shackleton-Clark smiled warmly at each of the students who entered the classroom, returning their greetings with cheerful 'Hello's and 'Welcome's. She then explained to the students who were seated, "We'll get started shortly, once more students have arrived."

Fletcher had no idea what class he was in today but he sure did know that it involved magic and learning and stuff. He was all about that jazz so he wandered in with his notebook and textbook under one arm and a quill tucked behind one ear.

"Lo, professor," he greeted her with a wave before taking a seat toward the front of the room.

Dianna walked in class and sat down into one of the front row seats.

"Hello Professor" she happily greeted.

Ced strode into the room happily, "Hey Professor!" He greeted their professor with a broad, genuine smile and gently walked toward the front seats. He was quite excited about their class for today. Every Ancient Runes class he's attended had been really exciting and eventful so he was certain that they'd have a good class, even though it was Professor Mac teaching the subject.

Sophia walked inside Ancient Runes. She was not sure of this subject -- but she was interested. So she just hoped she can answer even one question. She saw her professor. "Good Day Professor!" greeted her. And sitting on a good seat.

Professor Shackleton-Clark had hoped that the students were a bit more punctual, but as it was the first class, Macadrian understood that quite often the students had trouble finding the room. She explained, "We're not going to officially start the lesson until some more of your classmates have arrived, but in the interim, I'd like for those of you who have attended Ancient Runes classes with my predecessor Professor Lupa to enlighten me on which topics you have studied."

Alice walked into the Ancient Runes classroom. As other people walked in they tended to walk right into her, nobody noticed the small girl walking in the room. Alice hoped that she would be good at this class, maybe that would brighten her day, if only a little bit. "Good day Professor."

Having settled into her seat, Gold raised a cheerful hand. "We studied the Great-Tree Spread, ma'am," she said politely. "We also learnt how to do a Three-Rune Spread, the Rowling Alphabet, the Chakra Rune-stones, the Witches' Runes, the rune Uruz in particular, and the Cardinal Runes, which were basically the creation of a student."

She lowered her hand a bit, then raised it again. "We studied Arithmanrunes too, ma'am."

On allll the runes they have studied?

Wow, she could barely remember three of the lessons they had right off the top of her head! "We learned about the witches' runes, the Rowling runes...chakra runes i think..." And that's really all she could remember...

Hearing Gold name off all of them though, Evelyn nodded, finally remembering some of the ones she was talking about. Riiiggght. That one great-tree spread they did by the...great oak tree. Hehe.

She never took the class last term, it just didn't intrest her but for some reason she was here. It had taken her sometime to find the classroom but she had made it. Sitting by the window, she glanced out as she took out a piece of parchement and her quill. She wasn't taking notes yet but it helped to be prepared.

Michelle walked in and sat in a random seat. What topics had they learned before? Hmmm...Nothing. She couldn't remember a thing. Over the break she had forgotten a lot of things, but she was sure that her memory would soon be refreshed and remember everything again.

Jackie listens to the professor. "Last year I think we did the Compass Rose runes, but they were created by a student in a contesst."

As Ty hadn't ever studied Ancient Runes before - and wouldn't really be studying it now if it hadn't been for Uncle James' insistence that he take everything - he merely settled down in his chair and began doodling absentmindedly on a piece of parchment as he listened to what the people were saying.

It was the first time in his life that he had NO idea what they were on about.

Professor Shackleton scribbled some notes down as a couple of students offered information about what Professor Lupa had taught before Macadrian had taken over the subject. She recalled the Arithmanrunes lesson quite well, seeing as she taught that one with Professor Lupa, but from the Arithmancy point of view. She hoped the students would be as welcoming of her as Runes professor as they were when she taught Arithmancy. We'll see...

"OK class, I think now is as good a time as any to get started. For those who do not know me, my name is Macadrian Shackleton-Clark and I will be teaching Ancient Runes this term. I was on leave last term, so second and first years won't know me, but those who are third year and up will know that I used to teach Arithmancy here at Hogwarts for many terms.

"As a cursebreaker prior to my stint as an educator, I am more than equipped with the educational background and experience to teach either subject, so do not worry that my background in Ancient Runes will be lacking. I assure you that I will be able to teach you quite effectively, as long as you put in the appropriate amount of effort.

"I suggest that you bring to each class materials to take notes, your textbook and your school rune set. How many of you have a personal rune set that you've made yourself? I believe anyone in fifth year or up may have made one with Professor Lupa."
