Sidney is not sure why she is standing at the door to Professor Duskurk's office. Part of the reason was curiosity; the other part was proper etiquette. Her mother told Sidney she should introduce herself to her professors before the first class. The curiousity was fueled by the way Professor Duskurk acted at the Opening Feast. He reminded Sidney of a dragon who did not like humans in her wake. Big Bertha was the only dragon who father would never allow to see, so of course, Sidney went to go and see her when her father was away. That proved to be a bad idea. The Hungarian Horntail did not like Sidney in her pen. Bertha was on the verge of turning Sidney to a pile of ash when Mr. Ashby grabbed her and got her out of the way of Bertha's considerable dragon fire. It was a lesson Sidney has not forgotten. In Sidney's mind Professor Duskurk is as dangerous as that Hungarian Horntail Dragon. She knocks on his door with a great deal of reservation.

"Knock, Knock" can be heard echoing throughout the hall. Sidney patiently waits for Professor Duskurk to answer his door.

"Hello." Severia said quietly to the girl she saw outside of Professor Duskurk's office. "Did Professor Duskurk ask you to come to his office as well?" Severia was very careful not to speak too loud in case the Professor did not want to be disturbed.

"Hello, No I just came by to say hello. I hope he doesn't mind students just dropping by".

Daniel was so happy today. He can visit all the Professors that he adores, and the new ones too. He walked towards the first floor and knocked on the mahogany door bearing the title, T. Duskurk, Professor

Well this is a new. He remembers that he helped Professor Lawson decorate this office a year ago and now, it belongs to a new owner.

He knocked at the door and waited for a response.

On the very first day following the feast - as instructed - Kiri made her way to the new professor's office first thing after lunch.

That took a while. She had no idea which subject he would be teaching, or even what his name was. But a few inquiries among her classmates as to who "that new professor, the creepy-looking one, you know?" was told her that she would find him on the first floor, in the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom. So she'd been partly right! He was going to teach DADA. And his name appeared to be Duskurk. That had rung a bell with Kiri when she'd been told, but she couldn't remember why it would. That was a puzzle to be solved later.

When she reached the professor's office, a few people were already milling around near the door. It looked like Professor Duskurk had invited more students than just Kiri to his office. With an absent-minded smile, she joined them in waiting, wondering when it was going to be her turn.

That was it. Dylan had put it off long enough. He hadn't wanted to go and officiate the fact that he had detention. He sighed as he approached. There was already a queue. At least that would make his detention further away.

In the morning as instructed to her at the feast Lucia with her locket nicely tucked into her robes made her way to the professor's office.
When she arrived at his office she saw that there where already people there to see him, so she sat down lady like and opened her school book she brought with her. She wanted to find a charm to make the dungeon corridors less creepy and dark when she walks to the Slytherin common room.

Reese had her blonde hair tied back into a ponytail (yes, she had dyed her hair back to her natural hair color after the feast!) and her heels were click-clacking against the ground as she walked. She headed was heading towards the Professor Duskurk's office since he had wanted to see her today. And, if you didn't figure it out, she had figured out what the Professor's name was and what subject he taught. Though, it did take her a lot of asking around until she figured it out. Next time a Professor asked her to visit their office, she was definitely going to ask their name and what floor their office was on before they left like Duskurk had did before she had a chance to ask him.

As she came upon the DADA Professor's door, she blinked at the little crowd of people that was forming there. Umm... "Excuse me," she said as she pushed her way through the people to knock ONE time on the door considering everyone else had knocked previously, she wasn't going to sit there and knock three times like she normally did.

This was a new year, a fresh start for Cadence. Most of these professors wouldn't even remember she'd destroyed the Hufflepuff Common Room, and after being homeschooled (if you could even call it that... more like self-educated with someone to come in once a week and tell her she was doing a great job) for two years, she was going to take advantage of having real professors as much as possible. The first task on her check list was to go to the office of each professor of each class she was taking and introduce herself. So, here she was outside Professor Duskurk's office. He would be teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts. Though Cadence agreed this was a necessary subject to study, she didn't necessarily see herself pursuing it any further after Hogwarts. Nevertheless, she was here.

Before she knocked on the door, she took a quick inventory herself. Her uniform was in perfect condition, hair sleek and shiny, no food in her teeth, makeup was very conservatively done... just enough to bring out the golds and browns in her eyes.

As she looked around, there seemed to be a few other students waiting to see the Professor as well, but despite the fact other people appeared to be waiting, she went ahead and knocked if no other reason than to just indicate to the Professor that his office was quickly becoming a very popular place to be. Cadence would simply have to wait her turn to introduce herself to Professor Duskurk.

Professor Duskurk wasn't actually in his office. He popped out of a wall down the corridor and groaned, tempted to jump back into the secret passage and away from the queue formed outside his office door. But he was professor and he should instruct these students. Sigh. He strode up to the door and took a moment to survey the queue. "Perhaps I should hire a secretary," he murmured to himself though he could be heard.

Professor Duskurk unlocked his door and then gestured. "One at a time and you may decide by duel who may enter first and next if any argument arises," he informed them before heading into the office and settling behind the desk. He peaked his fingers and leaned his elbows on the desk whilst awaiting his first victim appointment.

"Good Morning, Professor." Severia said, being the first bold enough to step up to the door. "My name is Severia Gaunt. At the feast, you asked me to report to your office first thing this morning, as I am sure you remember. I heard you mention needing a secretary. I would be more than happy to help you if you like." She added with a polite smile.

Lucia walked into professor Duskurk's office when it was turn for the student to enter.
" Good morning, professor," she said when she walked into professor Duskurk's office. I am Lucia Rodolphus Draco. You told me told me at the feast you wanted to see me today about me being clumsy. I dropped my locket in the jello. Lucia explained why she was there as she untucked her locket to show him and then she tucked it back into her robe.

Ooc: Lucia went in the office after Severia was done. Not at the same time.

Sidney smirks at the two Slytherin who so bravely walk into Professor Duskirk's office. I wouldn't trade places with them for all the Chocoballs Honeydukes has. Obviously they were not paying attention to what Professor Duskirk said. Only One Student at a Time. From what Sidney has observed of Professor Duskurk he is a stickler for proper manners and probably following directions too. She guesses she will be the last one to see the professor. Sidney doesn't know how to use her wand, so dueling is out of the question. I guess I could trip them and make a run for the door.

Cadence decided that she would simply wait patiently for the other students to exit the office. Sitting around and doing nothing wasn't anything new to her. Her eyes widened a little when the two slytherins both went inside. "He said one at a time..." she whispered more to herself than anyone.

Yes, it figured that Professor Duskurk would be the kind of person who enjoyed setting a couple of students on each other. The possible flaw in his logic was to assume that everyone wanted to jump ahead in the cue to see him. Whether he was as creepy as Professor Kazimeriz was still up for debate, as far as Kiri was concerned, but one thing that was different about him was the smooth way he moved. You could clearly see the years on Professor Kazimeriz, but the new Defence Against the Dark Arts instructor's age was much more difficult to determine.

On the other hand, Kiri had made it through several terms with the Potions master, so how bad could Professor Duskurk be?
And judging from the amount of students clustered around the office door, Kiri would still be here for a while if she didn't push forward.

So she decided to push forward. She didn't have any afternoon classes, but it was warm and sunny outside, and that kind of weather was impossible to appreciate in a dark corridor. Getting up from the floor, she straightened her back for a few centimetres of added height (which was still not that impressive) and announced: "Well, I think I should be next." She flashed a perfunctorily apologetic smile and her Captain's badge at the rest of the waiting students. "Quidditch team captain... sooo I'm a bit busy. I'm sure we'll be done really soon, though. And I'll let you know how it went."

She wandered over to the door.

Cadence let out a little laugh and mumbled something that sounded like, "hmph... slytherins."

Sidney always thought Slytherins were into self preservation and all that. This group must be members of the closet Gryffindor Society. What is it they say fools rush in where wise men fear to tread. Sidney is in no hurry to enter the dragon's den. Who knows after a few of these Slytherin, the dragon may turn into a cat. Sidney just admires the Quidditch Captain's Badge on the girl's chest. "Very impressive. Do you want your next of kin to have it?" Sidney smiles at her fellow Hufflepuff. "You should let us know now just in case you don't survive your visit with Professor Duskurk."

Cadence pursed her lips together and snorted a little as she tried to contain her laughter. She didn't know who this little girl was, but she liked her A LOT. Though, figuring it would be best for the poor dear to not be sent home because she was too hexed to function, she gave her a half-warning/half-amused look while shaking her head, indicating that the girl should stop before she found herself in trouble.

Dylan sighed. At least he had the right room. Duskurk. Why was that name so familiar? "I am actually not in such a hurry to enter," he smiled. Nor was he fighting anyone for it. He had his looks to think about. "So anyone else can go ahead."

the slytherin girl Violet walked down the hall to professor Duskurks office and saw a line already there so waited at the end. "Hey whats up guys?" she said in a whisper

Kiri eyed the two girls for a moment, then smiled hugely at the younger one who'd talked to her. "I don't think I need to worry about anything." She glanced at the Hufflepuff badges sewn to the girls' robes. Somehow, she had the feeling that Professor Duskurk valued her own house rather more than that of the two girls. And if the young one was going to be that cheeky with him - and a number of other professors too, actually - she was probably the one whose next of kin had to be notified.

Or would be notified. By Professor Duskurk.

The other girl appeared needlessly antagonistic, but Kiri supposed (Fair enough.) she'd brought it on herself. Just a year ago, she would never have dared push herself to the front like that. What had changed? She hoped it was more than just acquiring the Captain's badge.

At any rate, the girl did not seem as if she was about to whip out her wand and start duelling. Which was good - Kiri didn't particularly feel like it either. And the girl hadn't actually objected to Kiri jumping to the front of the cue. So the matter was settled. Probably.
Kiri turned around again and faced the door. Occasionally, she'd tap a fingernail against the frame as she waited. Tick. Tick.

Kylie was welcoming as many Professor's as she could before classes began with a gift and introduction. She came up and knocked on the new DADA teacher's door. She waited quietly for permission to enter. As she waited she fiddled a bit with her wand, hoping he wasn't too cruel.

Elizabeth stood at Professor Duskurk's office curiously wondering what the lesson was going to be like or if she would be as interested in the Dark Arts as Tom Riddle was. I can never compete with Tom Marvolo Riddle, but it would be great to be as good as him Elizabeth thought to herself. Her life was about to get very interesting.

A student walked in just as an owl swooped into his office. The thing landed right on the desk and imperiously stuck out its leg.
He waved at the student to sit down and listened as he untied the letter and began reading. As the owl took off it had the audacity to land on right on the top of his head. Professor Duskurk's eyes flashed red and he scowled, menacingly.

"Go fetch me an owl from the owlry," he demanded and shooed the girl away.

Obviously the girl would obey him without question so he ignored her as he cleaned his head with a simple incantation and began penning a response. "Next!" he called as he was signing his name.
"Jello..." he said and scrutinized the girl as if she weren't worth remembering, though he did. "Yes, it seems you need some practice keeping your things to yourself and out of your food. You are to go to the library and find a spell which will keep your jewelry on your person. When you have discovered such a spell you will take it to the charms professor and ask for assistance in learning it. Once you have mastered the spell, come back and see me. You are dismissed."

Professor Duskurk was neither expecting nor wanting a response, so he waved her away and called out, "NEXT!"
