This is where you will find all announcements relating to Ancient Runes, including class and homework announcements, as well as any other important information I may deem important.

Third Class: 11/20, 11/21, 11/22

Final Exams: Dec 1-5

Class 1 - The Rowling Alphabet

Attention All Students

The first Ancient Rune class will open on Friday September 25th and remain open until Sunday September 27th. Please file into the classroom on the fifth floor and find a place to sit promptly before class begins. I do not tollerate tardiness, rudeness or chatting once my class has started. Please familiarize yourself with the classroom rules before attending. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you in class.

Homework - Lesson 1 - The Rowling Alphabet

Give a friend a 3 rune spread reading using the Rowling Runes with the meanings you came up with. It will be due a week from now. Class dismissed."

A line of runes is called a “spread.” The three rune spread signifies where you have been, where you are, and on what you need focus on for the future.

A. Ask a question.

B. Draw a rune at random. This is the past, and it provides background to the situation, showing the events that led up to the situation. Lay it out first.

C. Draw another. This second rune is the now or the present and it gives insight into the current situation. Lay it to the left of the first rune.

D. Draw the last rune. This third and last rune sybolizes your focus for the future. Lay it out to the left.

E. Use the rune meaning we came up with in class to interpret the spread.

ooc: A week from the date and time of the class post. You may chose to roleplay the reading, in which case, PM me the link to the post, or you may chose not to role play, and just send me tell me what question you asked the runes and how you arrived to your answer.

Class 2 - (Joint) The Rowling Alphabet And Arithmancy

Attention All Students

The second Ancient Rune class and Arithmancy class will open on Friday October 16th and remain open until approximately Sunday October 18th. Please file into the classroom on the second floor and find a place to sit promptly before class begins. Tardiness, rudeness or chatting once class has started will not be tollerated. Please familiarize yourself with the runes classroom rules and the arithmancy classroom rules before attending. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you in class.

Homework - Lesson 2 - Arithmancy and the Rowling Runes

Take your name, and add it up together without reducing each name.

So my Rowling rune is the number 8 rune

This means I'm intelligent, I'm good with language and speaking, I am feared... unfortunatly, I don't like people who are uncaring, I'm aware of Magical creatures... as tecnically I AM one, and I'm dangerous... especially when someone takes my last piece of chocolate cake! So watch out!

Your assignment is to:

1. Find your Rowling Rune.
2. Tell me how you are like the meanings of the runes.
3. Do the same for Professor Macadrian Shackleton Clark (use Shackleton as a middle name) and Headmaster Reynard Pepe Bontecou (use Pepe as Middle Name)
4. Draw your interpretation of the creature on YOUR Rowling rune (number 7's you have free reign!)

For those of you who know me you know how ironic it is for Less's rune to be #8... and yes I tried reducing the first, second and third before adding them together... I get 8 again... 21, 36, 14 => 3+9+5 => 17 =>8... *sigh*

ooc: So a couple of common questions.

You do NOT need to repeat step 2 for Professor Macadrian Shackleton Clark and for Headmaster Reynard Pepe Bontecou.

Step 4 means for you to DRAW your creature. Mine is the Acromantula.... I drew it with the program "Paint"



or you can draw it by hand and take a picture of it or scan it



If you take a picture you find on the internet, that isn't your drawing... that is someone elses.

The third Ancient Rune class will open on Thursday November 12th. Please file into the classroom on the second floor and find a place to sit promptly before class begins. Homework - Lesson 3 - Great Tree Spread

Think of a question about a particular person, and ask your runes. Do a Great Tree spread and tell me what runes you pulled, their meanings and your interpretations. Refer to your class notes if you need to.
