Hope is the only thing stronger than fear.

Hayden walked onto the train. She had enjoyed her last day at Hogwarts and couldn't wait to come back as a third year. She smiled and found an empty compartment which was no suprise. She walked in and sat down waiting for one of her friends to find her. She looked out the window and decided to go find her friends instead.

Lucy stepped onto train and looked around. She sighed. She really didnt want to leave Hogwarts an all her friends. She put up a facade and looked for an empty compartment. She immediately found one and entered it sitting down. Her black owl sitting on her shoulder. "It really is over, isnt it Eclipse." She said. She waited for her friends to arrive.

Having already put his luggage in the proper compartment, Fred had check the front and the back cars before actually deciding to pick the middle one. Of course he had to go through here before reaching either of those destination but it was only after seeing that it was somewhat crowding in both place that he had made up his mind.

Cover with his baseball hat plus his hood that was covering on top of it, his face was pretty much well hiden. He didn't want to see anyone at this moment, well he wasn't in any happy doozy mood either. He felt somewhat like a mess at this exact moment and even thought the reason could be obvious to everyone it wasn't for him. Deciding to pick an empty compartment, he push the door open and slam it behind himself.

He didn't stop to think where was Ariel because he knew she was probably destroying some luggages, what matter right now was to take back control of himself before anyone noticed one tears coming down.

Lyra walked to the middle of the train after placing her bags in the compartment. She was tired and was ready for the summer to begin. There was only one thing going thru her head at the moment and that was the one person she was itching to see...Christian.

She finally found an empty compartment, opened the door and sat next to the window for the ride home.

Dominic walked down the long corridor to the middle of the train after he had spent some of his train time in the Prefect's Compartment. While he enjoyed the peacefulness of that compartment, there were people that he wanted to see before their arrival at King's Cross. Plus it wouldn't really bode well if he didn't make any appearance at all outside of that compartment and since he was meant to set a good example . . .

Exhaling sharply, his golden eyes gazed in each compartment in the front as he noticed how terribly crowded it was. Though he wasn't anxious to sit there anyway since that's where the Prefect's compartment was and personally, he'd had enough of fronts for awhile. Time to live a little more . . . dangerously he resigned, making his way towards the middle. Halfway to the back, rebel zone, but not quite the front nerd zone. It was perfect. Quiet but not too quiet.

Slipping into the first empty compartment he found, Dom had settled onto the bench and closed his eyes for a small snooze when they popped open in alarm. He had forgotten something in the Prefect's compartment. Standing up abruptly, he contemplated for a moment - standing about a foot from the doorway (perfect for someone not paying attention to collide into him) and wondered if they were off school property yet. If not, could he chance a summoning charm? But . . oh crud . . .

Somewhere in the middle of the chaos that getting on the train was, Willow had completely forgotten that she was Melly - needless to say, she did not have the faintest idea where her friend had gone. Which of course, meant one thing: she was going to spend to ride home alone. Unless she managed to find someone to spend it with.

And so she searched in all the parts of the train for anyone she knew -knew and got along with, of course- but the fifth year found no one. No Isabella, no Eleanor, no Melly, no Evolette . . . and no Weird Boy. Sighing under her breath and glaring at a few little kids that were on her way, Willow decided to settle down in one of the few empty compartments around the middle of the train, which was the less crowded one.

Thinking that at least she would get to sleep a little, for the compartment would be empty, Willow's hand reached for the empty compartment door and opened it lazily.

Only that it wasn't empty. Her stomach momentarily vanished.

After staring at the person for at least two seconds, she cleared her throat. Obviously she had to say something - she couldn't just stare and not say anything, right? Right. And she could definitely NOT just walk in the compartment as if she owned it and pretend he wasn't there either.

So since remaining quiet and ignoring him was not a possibility, Willow cleared her throat once again, before saying, "Uh. I thought it was empty. Sorry."

Dominic had still be staring at the other side of the door blankly - contemplating if it was worth risking his brand new and empty compartment to dash back to the Prefect's compartment and fetch his wand. He still could not believe how stupid he was to have left it behind, in his bag, which was something totally NOT like him.

It wasn't until the door opened that his stomach lurched and the Hufflepuff realized his anxiousness was not from his lack of wand. Rather it was the emptiness in him because he had not seen Mystery Girl since . . . well, technically the championship game, but not properly since the Broom Cupboard. Before Finals and OWL exams. His heart stopped beating for a moment as he tried to focus on her, which wasn't really that difficult since that's what he was focusing on. What he needed to do was NOT focus on her, so that he could focus on her. If that made any sense at all.

Staring at her, which he hadn't meant to do, he swallowed at trying decipher her brief words. "Empty," he repeated in a low whisper, forgetting of his wand that was at the front momentarily. Clearly she wasn't expecting to sit with anyone.

"Um..." He was clearly not good with this stuff. "You don't...? Did you... Do you mind ... can I .... Would you mind company on the ride to London?" Dominic finally managed to speak out bleakly.

Well, this was awkward.

Granted, staring at Dominic Denton was never a bad thing, but the truth was, that since the cupboard event, Willow had been saying to herself that the next time she saw him, she would act more like her normal self: cool, calm and collected. Of course that had been a very easy thing to ponder about when the Hufflepuff prefect was not standing a few feet away from her, looking all . . . gloom? She wasn't sure. But one thing Willow did know was that he did not seemed particularly pleased.

How stupid had she been to believe in . . . everything! Clearly, all the things that he had said had only been a result from the very high fall he'd suffered just an hour before everything happened. He had been confused, and with no idea of what he was saying. Yes, that had to be it.

Willow took a deep breath, and the bit her bottom lip. This wasn't good. She had to leave the compartment right now, and go and find someone. Issy. Yes, she would go find Issy and tell her that . . . that . . . tell her what, exactly? It wasn't like she'd told--"What?" She spluttered without thinking, her expression going from thoughtful and somehow empty, to blank.

As usual, he was making no sense. Because if Dominic Denton regretted everything, then why was he asking if she minded company?

The smart answer - the healthy one, in any case, for Willow didn't want to end up getting hurt in any way, would have been 'Yes, I do mind. And I'm going to go and find one of my friends, actually. See you around.' But this was Willow. And the boy before her was . . . not a boy. Nope, he was definitely not a boy, because Willow Kovac did not like boys, so Dominic Denton couldn't be one, right? Because she liked him.

And so she was Willow . . . "Erm, no, I don't mind company." And without looking at him, she went to take seat by the window, and stared outside pointedly. "Um, do you have any plans for the summer?"

That didn't come out as well as he had hoped. The way he was speaking and pointedly staring, Dominic wouldn't be the least bit surprised if she objected rudely and opted to never speak with him again. Surely he would have been hurt, no heartbroken, but hearts heal, right? And the way he had acted, perhaps he would deserved it.

From gazing into her forest green eyes, Dominic was sure he deserved it. Because he hurt her and she would never trust him again. Her expression told it all - thoughtful and resigned - Ravenclawish, almost, minus the fact that she didn't like books.

Yup. She was ready to run. Thinking ahead, he supposed he ought to dash to the Prefect's Compartment and hide there for the rest of the train ride if she had left him alone. But wait . . . this was Willow Kovac and when had Willow ever been predictable? Never, because if she was, then he would have stopped talking to her after the first time they met in Flourish and Blotts almost two summers ago.

"Good," He stated simply, unable to conceal the smile that played on the corners of his mouth. Forgetting about his wand - because it would be safe since only Prefects could go where it was, right? - The Hufflepuff strode around and took a seat on the other side of the compartment, gazing out the window. "Not really. Just going home and spending it with the mother." Dom made a face, though doubted she could see it. "And awaiting my OWL results. What about you?" Perhaps if Willow didn't live far . . . and truthfully he doubted his luck would be so good. But he did own a broomstick, which was not illegal to fly as long as it was a time when it wouldn't be spotted by muggles . . .

As soon as his voice reached her ears, Willow found herself staring at him again. It had been an automatic thing, and she really hadn't meant to do it . . . wait. He was smiling. Not a real big smile, but a small endearing and genuine-looking smile. She blinked. How confusing can someone get? "You are doing it again," Willow muttered under her breath, before resuming her staring outside.

She'd been very right on calling him Weird Boy; he really was weird. One minute looking gloom, the other smiling.

Just as automatic as before, the fifth year gazed back at Dominic once again, locking her forest green eyes on him as he spoke. He didn't seem too cheerful over the idea of spending the summer with his mum. Hmm. If she were him, she would - but then, that was probably because she did not have a mother. "Same," she mused with a shrug. "Well, not the same," started Willow, correcting her previous response, "I'm spending it with my father and brothers." Now it was her turn to make a face. "It will be real fun." Not.

OWLs. Of course Dominic would mention those horrible things, since they were both fifth years. During the time she'd spent studying, Willow had developed this theory that the only reason why they had to take those exams was because the morons at the Ministry of Magic liked torturing teenagers. "I think I failed Divination," she commented nonchalantly. It really wasn't an important subject, in Willow's opinion. "I don't think my father is going to be pleased, though." Of course he wouldn't - every single subject that was taught at Hogwarts was vital on Goran's Kovac opinion - but his daughter clearly didn't agree.

Hope is the only thing stronger than fear.

Hadyen came back to her compartment skipping and giggling. She had her owl on her shoulder and she needed to find something to write on quick. She walked into her compartment shut the door and pulled the blinds, afte r this it was nap time. Grabbing down her trunk she pulled out a notebook and thenclosed and placed the trunck back in its proper spot. She pulled out a muggle pen and wrote a note back to her father.

"Okay Ed take this to dad then go to mom with this note," She had just finished writing for her mom to expect her,"and stay there. I'll see you in a couple of hours." Hayden watched as he flew out the window then she laid back in her sleep and stared of into space.

Vanessa the Snot Girl l Rachels Rule | rock, tumble,&roll ❆ adorable coffee bean

Carrying her kitten in her arms, Vanessa Corbette wandered down through the middle carts, not really looking for any specific people. She was just going for a wander really. She had left Maxxie, her kneazle with Miles, so she'd be going back to find him before leaving the train.
She giggled, as she kitten purred, and she rubbed her ears as she continued to walk down the train. As she walked she noticed someone out the corner fo her eye. Willow and Dominic. She had flashbacks to the last quidditch game of the season. Dominic hadn't seemed very happy. She midget hufflepuff took a few steps back, and smiled at the pair. "Erm...Hey?" She spoke with a smile, as she leant against the door of the compartment.
"Mind if i join you?"

Still staring out the window, Dominic redirected his golden eyes to meet the green ones of Willow at her comment. Straining to hear her comment, he found himself narrowing his eyes in confusion. "Doing what?" the former fifth year stated innocently enough. Honestly, if he was doing something to confuse Willow Kovac, then he had no intentions of it.

His confusion turned to amusement though when the Ravenclaw had mentioned her summer would be the same, but not. She would be spending it with her father and brothers. No mother? Odd. As far as he could care, he would rather switch with her. A brother would have been nice growing up with. "I'm sure," Dominic mused. "Think they'll notice if we swap places? My mother would probably enjoy having another female around." The daughter she never had.

Noticing her expression, Dominic wondered if bringing up OWL exams was a bad idea. But it wasn't as if they could deny the truth of their future was to be mailed out this summer in the form of examination results. As much as he hated to admit it, the torture of the teenagers with rotten exhausting examinations, did play a huge role on what path they would take in their future. "Divination I actually may have done okay on," maybe only 'Acceptable'. "But Runes on the other hand," Dominic rolled his eyes, but didn't really mind too much of having to drop that subject. Pointless stones with symbols.

Dominic's thoughts of Runes and dreadful OWL examinations were interrupted though by the sound of a very familiar (and unwelcome) voice. The last time he had spoken to Vanessa Corbette had not been on very good terms and actually resulted in much shouting at each other over . . . none other than the person sitting across from him.

Did he mind her sitting there with them? Probably a part of him wanting to say 'no'. But lately, yes, he did slightly. Though as a prefect and her fellow housemate/teammate, he felt compelled to say 'no'.

Instead of answering her - who was quite clearly waiting - the Hufflepuff sighed and glanced over at Willow for a moment before shrugging back to Vanessa. "If it's okay with her," was how he answered, quite simply enough. There - it was neither a yes or no.

Wowza!

Obviously, he wasn't aware of how confusing he could be. Or maybe he wasn't confusing; maybe it was Willow the one that was always confused by his actions. Hmmmm. "Confusing me, of course." She shrugged. It wasn't like there was anything she could do about that. Besides, if Willow was being honest with herself, she sort of welcomed that confusion.

Upon taking on his new expression and comment, Willow's rosy lips twitched as she fought back a smile. "Not my father. He's always busy." She was kidding, of course - sort of; her father was always busy, after all. "My brothers, though, I'm pretty sure they would. You know, as soon as they notice that their little sister is much more taller than they remember, and all that." Now she did beam - no point in fighting back, really. "But really you don't want to switch places with me. My brothers are annoying and my dad is very strict." And that didn't even begin to cover it. "Besides, your mum would miss you, I'm sure." She would miss him - but Willow was not about to admit that.

"Runes was not so bad . . . but it wasn't that easy, either." Willow chewed on her bottom lip as she pondered it over. It really had not been entirely bad, but that was probably because she had studied a lot for it. Divination on the other hand, not so much. "To be honest, I don't care of I failed Divination or not. I'll probably just drop that subject."

Almost unwillingly, Willow tore her eyes from the Hufflepuff prefect and locked on them on the newly arrived girl, standing by the door. She looked familiar, somehow, and at the same time not. Was she not part of the Hufflepuff Quidditch team, or something like that? Either way, the shorter girl was most likely friends with Dominic, for Willow was certain she would not have entered their compartment if she weren't. Right?

Now, did she mind her company? Honest answer would be yes, because Hufflepuff girls didn't like her by nature, and Willow was not in the mood to get in an argument with some bagder girl. But if she was friends with Dominic, even if he didn't seem particularly pleased to see her . . . "I--sure. Come on in. I don't mind."

Vanessa regretted almost immediatly asking to join them as soon as she'd said it. She should have known that it was a bad idea, especially considering what had happened the last time she had seen Dominic. It had not be a a pleasent meeting, and thankfully the shouting hadn't really been heard by everyone else.
She smiled though as she glanced between the two, praying that Dominic hadn't been talking to Willow about what she had done. If he had done, then Vannie better watch herself, she didn't really want to be breakfast for Willow and Dominic. No. She might be older than them, but they definetly scared her. They were taller than her too. That was bad also.
She noticed how Dominic didn't lok best pleased with her, and she could tell from his body language, and she kind of regretted stopping a little bit more. She didn't want to have another shouting match with Dominic. Not at the end of term. And she'd already apologised to him once! It was him that was being difficult not him. She had only told one person, it wasn't her fault it had spread.

She decided to ignore his comment, and turned towards Willow, who seemed to a be a little more appproachable, and didn't mind her coming in. She may have minded, but she seemed to be a little more friendly than Dominic was. For now at least. "Erm..Thanks," She nodded, smiling a little, as she took the seat, nearest the door. At least then she'd be able to escape if needed. "So...how did your OWLS go?" She asked, politely, hoping not to start another shouting match

Perhaps Dominic should NOT have left the decision of Vanessa being allowed to join their compartment of two to Willow. Why should Willow have any prejudice over Vanessa anyway? It wasn't as if the Hufflepuff Captain was not talking to Willow because of their kiss. Or maybe she wasn't? Meh. Either way, as far as he knew (and Wilow knew), Vanessa had done nothing to the Ravenclaw.

The older puff seemed reluctant to join them - as she should - and took a seat nearest the door, furthest from the two of them. Hardly paying attention to the girl, Dominic looked back at Willow and blinked in shock when she mentioned that he was confusing her! Females. Hmph! "Confusing you? I ... forgive me?" He chewed his lower lip, unsure of what to say really. Cause she was confusing him, of course. Though he would never admit that because mostly he felt it was typical reaction since most - no - ALL females greatly confused him.

Mused at how Willow smiled - genuinely - he nodded when she said her father wouldn't notice, but her brothers would know because their little sister was taller. "I can do strict. You haven't met my mother and perhaps she would miss me, but she would like having a daughter, so she would be too enthralled by that prospect to pay much notice to me missing." Maybe not though, since he was all she had left. But the story went well.

"Runes was murder . . . but if i do fail, then I won't be disappointed," Dominic snickered lightly. Sure his mother would be a little upset that her only child didn't excel in one of her personal favorite subjects, but not his fault that he had no interest in the runic symbols. "I'll probably drop Runes anyway." You get the same prophetic stuff from Divination and Arithmancy; Runes was just extra busy work and too much deciphering.

Sauntering purposefully down along the corridor straining to the seams it seemed with students, Terry struggled to push past the younger midgets, having to force himself to tuck his elbows in and not instead use them to shove the fools out of his path.

For the love of all that was good, couldn't they get inside their compartments before they started nattering like ninnies? All those lovely girls out there for him to meet, so little time. And yet he had to be snuck here with the snivelling firsties.

Exhaling loudly, he ...FINALLY it seemed, managed to pass the most troublesome throngs. He'd thought too soon, apparently. Foot catching on a bothersome trunk, he cacked forward, hands throwing forward to push the compartment door in front open before his face became entirely too friendly with the glass door.

Awkwardly, he tumbled in, miracaculously managing to stay on his feet. Gasping for breath, he slammed the door slid shut, gritting his teeth shut. He whirled around on his heels. He was going to KILL those up-to-no-goo-- ...

Terry blinked in shock. There were PEOPLE in here? Who'd witnessed his oh-so-graceful entrance too. Coughing loudly to clear his throat, he could feel a flush rise hotly along his cheeks as it sunk in Willow Kovac (who already thought him a brainless flirt) and Vanessa had been privy to the whole thing. The last though, was a guy he'd caught sight of sometimes, but didn't even know well enough to care of his opinion.

His hand instantly flew to his dark locks, and laughing nervously, he waved slightly to the three in general, 'Is everyone enjoying the start of their hols already then?' Ahem, narrowing his eyes slightly at the two girls, his facial expression was clear enough to read. The incident that had just occurred was to remain unmentioned. For the rest of his life preferably.

Abruptly, he threw himself into a seat next to (if his abysmal memory served him right) the Hufflepuff prefect, and then drew his gaze to Willow, raising an eyebrow at her cheekily. He really needed to continue that convo about how she clearly had the hots for him.

...only to then realise the Quidditch Captain was crazily in love mad at him. And his wand had been left in the lugagge compartment too. Merlin, what kind of situation had he gotten himself into?

Wowza!

It really had not been her imagination, then, Willow was sure; the girl she was sure played for the Hufflepuff team seemed to have noticed Dominic's not-particularly-pleased expression since her arrival, and Willow wondered for a second why was that. And then she shrugged it off, thinking that it really wasn't none of her business.

"You're welcome," mused Willow, eyeing the girl curiously. The Hufflepuff girl seemed to be aware of who she was, for the girl would not have asked them about the OWLs. Who was her, though? Willow did not know her. "They went well, thank you for asking," murmured the girl as politely as she could. "What's your name? I don't believe I know you." Unless she'd forgotten about the girl, which would not be surprising.

Turning back to look at Dominic, the soon to be sixth year caught him staring at the other girl. He really did not look please to see her - which instantly make her curious. "I, er, that's fine. I guess you can't help it." If he did unconsciously, it wasn't his fault, right? Right. Besides, she wasn't complaining. Not really. "Yes, I don't think you can do strict. Not that kind of strict, at least" answered Willow, her tone almost smug. But then she turned a bit more serious again, and locked her eyes on him once more, "Actually, I'm glad you are not that strict. Because if you were, I don't think I--" And she fell quiet then, remembering that the other girl was there, too. Clearing her throat to fill the awkwardness her previous comment had left, Willow went on with the OWLs conversation as if nothing had happened, "Runes was slightly odd this term. What with Professor Lupa acting like a child and all that, I wouldn't be surprise to see other people dropping it, too."

About to add that Herbology had also been a bit odd, when someone else entered their compartment. No, not entered - stumbled in. If the tall, dark-haired boy (because unlike Dominic Denton, Willow did think Terry Saunders was a boy, for he did manage to annoy her) that had not been a familiar one, she would have actually chuckled. But he was, and Willow admit this unwillingly, familiar.

Practically instantly, Willow's forest green eyes narrowed at him and followed Terry as he claimed the seat next to Dominic. Who did he think he was? That he could just barge into their compartment as if he owned the place? What happened with the usual 'mind if I join you?' question? Did he not know of its existance? Obviously not!

Upon taking into his expression -a very cheeky one, no less- Willow's hands clenched into fists and she forced them to stay on her lap; she was not going to punch him. Muggle dueling was bad. She did not her hands for anything, really - not yet, anyway.

Her jaw locked. "What are you doing here?"

Terry crossed his arms. Then uncrossed him. He ducked his head, intent then on continuing and ...winning the current staring contest with his trainers. Dood, the tension in here was increasing, surely but steadily. And it really didn't go beyond that one Willow Kovac.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw her hands ball into fists, and let a chuckle slip out, before hastily coughing to cover his tracks. He valued his face, thank you very much. And there was no doubting she would have no qualms about throwing a couple punches around in here.

He forced himself to look up at her to make eye-contact, attempting to wipe the humour clearly evident by the crooked half-smile and twinkle in his eyes. Terry looked at her innocently, making as though he'd been surprised by the question. 'Me? Errr---I was merely seeking refuge from the hundred or so half-crazed infatuated fangirls who were chasing after me, y'know?' Maybe he needed to ask next why exactly Willow hadn't been part of the fan-girl mob. His voice sounded as though this were the most natural thing in the world. 'And how about yourself?' Wait, was he asking her what she was doing in the compartment too? Snort. She wouldn't take too well to that.

He gritted his teeth when he realised that Willow was clearly not planning to let go of what had happened in the library earlier. He eyed the Huffie prefect sitting next to him, trying to gauge exactly how much of an interference he would be. 'Is this about what I said earlier a couple weeks ago, Willow?' Terry sat back nonchalantly in his seat, crossing his arms as he surveyed her carefully, 'So let me get this straight. You're mad at me ...because I spoke the complete and utter untarnished truth?' Whoa. Willow was a bad influence. The cheek of her to imply that he take up lying. Tsk tsk.

Vanessa sighed, as she stroked the kitten, which she had placed on her lap when he had sat down. The tension was very apparent in here, most of it was probably because of her being there. Although she didn't sense any bad vibes from Willow yet so Dominic had probably not told her. That was good, it meant that she didn't have a death wish. Well not yet anyway. She hoped that he wouldn't tell her.
She looked up when Willow began to talk her. Oh. Of course Willow wasn't going to know who she was. They hadn't really ever talked. She only knew who she was, because of quidditch. "I'm Vanessa." She spoke nodding, if Willow didn't know who she was, it meant that this may be a bit more of a positive meeting. "Vanessa Corbette....six...well actually. 7th year hufflepuff as of next year." She added with a smile, although it seemed to fade a little as she was reminded that it was her last year again. At least then Dominic
wouldn't have to worry about her. Because she wouldn't there.

That reminded her of Dominic, and she glanced up at him, smiling a little. She didn't want Dominic to not like her. Especially if they didn't make friends after next year.
She had to look up, and hold onto her Cat, as somebody crashed, very ungracefully into the compartment. She began giggling when she realised who it was. Typical of it to be her cousin. "Oh. Terry." She smirked at him. He looked embarrased. She would definetly be telling her sisters about that. So that they could giggled at Terry too.
"My sisters are going to like hearing about this." She grinned at him. She hoped that he knew she was joking. They'd giggled at Terry anyway. "Hello Terry."

Xehanna walked onto the train with just her backpack with her. She found an open compartment. she slid open the door and walked. she sat her bag next to her and sat down next the window. She didn't want to leave hogwarts. It felt like it had just started. *sigh* she leaned her head against the window and waited for someone to join her.
