Trey walked up to the opened door of what appeared to be Professor Truebridge's office. He read the note in his hand once more to himself,
Trey,
Please stop and see me in my office. There are some things I wish to speak with you about.
Professor Truebridge

He had no idea what Truebridge could want with him. This can't be about the drink I still owe him, Trey thought to himself. Rather then mull the situation, Trey bucked up, and knocked on the doorway, peeping around the the room from the opening, hoping to catch a glimpse of the professor. No sounds of movement were heard, besides what seemed to be something snoring in the far corner. But there was no way that Truebridge was stuffed in that basket. Or was he? Trey laughed as he pictured Truebridge stuffing himself into the basket and falling asleep. He came too, and shook his head vigorously to remove the hilarious image.

He then knocked again, "Professor Truebridge sir? It's Trey, you asked to see me." Hmmm, where was the professor?

"Still haven't found that drink I see." Truebridge noted, coming up behind Trey. Ethan took his shades off and carefully put them in the case before giving the Slytherin boy a light push so that he could step past him into his office. Turning around and gesturing grandly Ethan offered a crooked grin, "Come on in, take a seat and so on and so forth."

Turning around. Truebridge placed the case containing his glasses on the shelf next to a picture of himself- though technically they were all pictures of himself, even of some did contain other people or, in the most cases, animals. He approached the basket in the corner and offered a few friendly pats to the the pup lazing inside it.

"What do you aspire to be, Trey?" Ethan asked, not turning away from the puppy.

What do I aspire to be? Wow I really don't know. But I shan't tell him that. That was a question Trey truly didn't know the answer to. He'd always pretty much had it made. Being from a long line of purebloods, and his father a Potion Master, Trey just lived the life.

"Wow sir, I've never truly thought specifically about it. However I know that whatever it is I do, I want to be a household name. I want to be remembered. I aspire to be a legend in the world of wizardry." The words he spoke, had never left his mouth before. But the question had inspired him, and his emotions took over. He took a deep breath when he finished. Calming himself down, awaiting a response to his vague yet intriguing answer.

"How ambitious." Truebridge noted, his eyes flicking to the Slytherin insignia on Trey's robes. He straightened and turned to inquire, "so, is it merely the fame you crave? I tell you; it isn't necessarily all it is cracked up to be."

Ethan moved to his desk, sitting on it rather than behind it. "Wanting to be a legend, to be remembered, doesn't really indicate what you wish to be known for. Do you want to change the world? For the better or perhaps for the worse? Invent something, discover something, uncover something? Feared, respected, admired, revered?" Ethan regarded Trey completely deadpan for a few moments before hoisting himself off his desk and beginning to pace the office with his hands sketching designs in the air.

"It is important to identify the what of course- and I refer here to the what behind the fame that you seem to crave." He paused and spoke in an aside, "That is a what that is really more of a why." He faced Trey and continued, "The how is irrelevant so early on in the game; good grades, dedication, ambition," Zan waved it off, "easy enough for you I'm sure. So," Truebridge paused, "where do you suppose you might look to find inspiration for your what and your why?"

The professor stood oddly motionless after his enthusiastic pacing, his green eyes glinting as he calmly watching the slytherin boy. Zan wondered what that whole... Anna thing had been about. Initially he had believed it even if she had looked young; partly Trey's... help? If it had indeed been help- had convinced him. Next he had thought it was perhaps street theatre or something of the sort. A dare... a whim... Ethan didn't much mind that the two of them had in essence lied (he considered it a scene well-acted more than anything else), he was more intrigued as to why Trey had decided to join in on it. Motivations.

No slytherin did anything without a reason.

Trey took in everything Professor Truebridge told him like a sponge. His words expanded Trey's mind like no other. He chose his next few words carefully. "Sir, I agree when you say that fame isn't all it's cracked up to be," he paused, to ponder his next thought. "but fame isn't necessarily what I want. While it would come with the territory, famous people can be forgotten. I want to become legend." His words excited him slightly, as his heart pounded a little faster, "Famous people are remebered, but legends, they never die," with his last word he walked over towards one of the bookshelves and picked up a picture and looked at it for a moment.

He placed the picture back down before turning back to his professor. "As for the what and why, I'm not truly sure where to begin looking for my inspiration." He turned and walked a few steps, pondering more thoughts in his head. "However I am sure that talking to you now and perhaps throughout this term will be a grand place to start."

Trey had his reasons for certain things. No matter if he knew what they were or not. His thoughts clouded his mind of his time in Diagon Alley. He had done so many different things, so unlike the Trey he used to be. But why did he do them? What reason did he have?

No Slytherin did anything without a reason....

Barry wa curious about the ghosts it seemed strange for them to be reterning now. This was History of Magic so he had himself decided to start at where all things start. With history. He knocked on the door three times and waited quill out ready to write

Truebridge was satisfied with Trey's response; since it proved he wasn't after recognition of the shallow variety. He nodded and listened intently before responding, "If you were to give an example of such legends, which would you pick?" Ethan asked, making himself comfortable and perching on the edge of his desk.

"Oh I'm sure you will figure out a good place to look if you really think about it, Trey." Zan answered, "And you might find that my class is one of those places."

Ethan looked up and opened the door with a wave of Loretta, "Come on in."

Lyra walked up to Professor Truebridge's door. She just wanted to introduce herself to her professors. Her meeting with Professor Bunbury had been... interesting, to say the least. But no matter, she was pretty sure that she'd do OK in this class. She loved history and reading... And I won't have to use a wand, she thought miserably.

She reached the door just as another boy walked in. She raised a hand and knocked.

"Come on in," Professor Truebridge indicated that the girl should enter and make herself comfortable. Still perched on his desk he looked between the two Ravenclaws, "how can I help?"

The room quickly began to fill as two Ravenclaw students, one being his new friend Barry, also entered to talk to Professor Truebridge. "Ahh, Professor, it seems that my time has ran out," He said looking over his shoulders to the two behind him. "Per chance we finish this conversation in a little bit? I could hang here until it clears if you don't mind. You do seem to have something else on your mind about me," It was merely an observation, however also a pure guess. He figured eventually Truebridge would want to discuss the Leaky Cauldron incident. Plus there was just so many more questions Trey had for him.

Lyra walked into the office, glad to see that it wasn't as full of students as Professor Bunbury's was. "Hello Professor Truebridge," she said, "I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Lyra Kant and I'm a first year.

She looked around the office, particularly taken aback by the bookshelf, which, oddly for a history professor, was conspicuously barren of books. When she noticed what some of the pictures were of, however, her stomach gave a little leap. 'Dragons!' She wanted to ask so many questions about them, but didn't know where to begin. Or if it would be OK to ask, since her curiosity wasn't a hundred percent academic based.

Barry put a smile on His face. Be nice now. You don`t want any trouble. Much like a journilist he was ready to write anything useful the man said. Barry said "I`m Barry Weasley a fourth year Ravenclaw. It nice to meet you professer. I actually have a few questions about the past.If you have time of cource" he added not really meaning it

Ethan nodded- taking Trey's comments as an attempt to stall before answering, "Oh of course Trey, if you need time to think about an answer to my question, you need only say so." Truebridge wasn't much for smirking, but the tone of his voice indicated that if he were a smirker, one might occur along with those words. He was genuinely curious about which legends Trey might aspire to be like. "Something else on my mind?" Professor Truebridge paused, "Like what?"

"Well it is nice to meet you Lyra Kant. First year hmm? Well..." Ethan had been about to warn her to stay clear of Krazymeriz but it probably wasn't appropriate to do so based merely on his experiences of that particular Professor when he was a student. "...have you discovered the library yet?" He asked instead, "Be sure to take a good whiff of the tomes when you first walk in the door. There isn't anything better." He sighed to himself, making a mental note to get himself lost in the library as soon as he had a little free time.

Truebridge watched Lyra examine the photographs for a moment before getting distracted by a tiny snore coming from the basket in the corner.


Turning his head back from his contemplation of the basket, and shifting slightly so he was a little more comfortable on the desk, Ethan nodded politely, "Nice to meet you Barry Weasley." he paused, "A few questions? Just a few questions? I never stop asking question about the past myself." he added conversationally, "something for everyone back there." Truebridge waved his hand behind his head in illustration before fixing his hazel eyes on Barry, "And as for whether or not I have time; that depends entirely on whether or not I have answers. So ask away and we shall soon see which I have and how much of each is in my possession."

Lyra smiled at the though of the library. She hadn't been there yet, but was looking forward to it immensely. "I'll have to do that right after leaving here." Well. All Lyra had come for was to introduce herself. "I guess I'll be going then. I just wanted to pop in while I was on the floor." A lie. She had made the trip especially see him. Lyra turned and left the office.

She was completely and utterly lost. She had stumbled into the classroom on accident and gotten caught up looking at all the stuff. Lasca heard voices coming from another room so she walked toward it. Of course, this was the history of magic classroom. Well, since I'm here. REaching up her hand she knocked politely on the door.

"Be sure that you do." Professor Truebridge responded with an enthusiastic nod, "I'll see you in class, Lyra Kant."

That was easy.


"Hello, Come in. Sit or stand; take your pick." Ethan gestured at the newest arrival, "I'm Professor Ethan Truebridge, and you are?" He launched himself off his desk and padded over to the basket in the corner, picking up the sleepy chihuahua and returning to his perch on his desk, stroking the pup gently as he awaited a response.

History of Magic had been one of Jessica's favorite classes. Professor Lainey had always made her lessons interesting and practical. Now, Jess was simply too curious to find out who the new professor was. Therefore, she decided to leave the common room and go up to the first floor for a visit.
The girl reached the office and knocked on the door twice, waiting for some kind of an answer.

Ethan was pleased at how polite his student visitors were being, all of them were being sure to knock. He was glad his office wasn't too small.

"Come on in." Truebridge invited the waiting student.

At the professor's permission, Jessica walked in and greeted politely.
"Hello, Professor! How are you? To be honest, I just wanted to meet you and say welcome to Hogwarts.

The girl smiled to the other students in the room and looked around, but didn't take a seat. She was the type of person who only sat down when offered a seat. Otherwise, it wouldn't seem polite.

"I'm alright." Ethan answered, "Well thank you, it is good to be back." The professor gestured to the photos on the bookshelf, indicating one of him at age fourteen or so, dressed in Hogwarts robes. "And who might you be?"

He looked around, a thoughtful expression on his face. It seemed he was running out of chairs. Zan shrugged and pointed at his chair behind his desk- the desk he was currently sitting on, "You are welcome to sit there if you like."

He stroked the chihuahua and watched it with interest as it yawned before snuggling against him.

Jessica looked at the picture that was indicated by Professor Truebridge. She tried to figure out what house he had been in. It was a thing she couldn't help; curiosity was one of her biggest problems.
"So you attended Hogwarts as well?" the girl asked.
"I'm Jessica Mayer, from Hufflepuff." she answered.

"Only if I don't disturb you." Jessica said, since it was the only vacant chair in the office.
The girl noticed the professor's chihuaua.
"It's so cute!" she exclaimed.

Elizabeth had been wandering the corridors, not really headed anywhere in particular. Simply wandering. Re-familiarizing herself with the castle before classes really got started. And she found herself walking past the History of Magic classroom, and thought again about everything that had been brought up during the feast. She still felt really sorry for having made Robert question how Professor Truebridge had gotten hired, even though she still couldn't get over the fact that she recognized the professor's name.

And as she came up to the professor's office, she found herself involuntarily starting to hum some of the music from Rent. She kept walking, though, passing the door without really thinking about if he or any students were inside.

Barry smilled "I have questions of cource but right now I`m looking into one subject in particular. You see sir, you might have noticed the ghosts have returned and so I was wondering if you perhaps knew when they dissapeared. Knowing how they went could be a major clue to how they returned and where they`ve been these past years" he said quite seriously "I hope you don`t mind me researching this but I find it necessary. Don`t you?"

"I did; Slytherin." Truebridge levitated the picture of himself to Jessica where she sat in his chair, so she could have a closer look.

"It is nice to meet you, Jessica from Hufflepuff." Ethan smiled politely and looked down at the pup in his arms, "Yes... he is quite adorable. I haven't named it yet though. Would you like to hold him?" Truebridge held the sleepy pup out to the girl.

Truebridge heard a familiar tune and subconciously began to hum along.

Ethan nodded; he'd wondered how long it would be before a student would start asking questions, though the boy's tone irked him a little bit. "They left Hogwarts after the battle... I assume you know which battle I refer to? The Battle of Hogwarts? In any case, they left without explanation, one day they were just gone. The latest editions of Hogwarts; a History say as much." Truebridge paused, "Have you thought of asking the ghosts themselves?" As it were; he had no idea why they had left or why they were back and since the feast, hadn't had the chance to discuss it with any of the other professors.

He shot a look around at all the students present, "Sometimes children can get information that adults can't." he paused, "I'd be interested to know if any of you find anything out about why the ghosts are back. Probably they just got bored or something like that." Ethan waved his hand, "But history will need to know."
