Cale nearly tripped with excitement as he entered the compartment that this term had been designated to Prefects. He couldn't remember ever sitting in this cart before--if they had had it in previous terms, he had just been too wrapped up in something else to notice.

And, by the looks of things, he was the first one to find this special compartment. Grinning in delight, he dropped his bag on the seat by the window and sat down, waiting for Anna to show up. It also occurred to him that now he would find out the identities of the new prefects this term, something which made him grin even wider. Anyone would be a definite improvement over that Seth Paton fellow, THAT was for sure.

It seemed to take only a matter of seconds from the young Slytherin's compartment to get to the last compartment at the front of the train. Glancing up at the door, he saw 'Prefects' etched carefully onto its surface, and he knew that he was in the right place. It was now or never in finding out the rest of the prefects he'd be working with.

Nervously, Dominic slipped the parchment back into his robes and slid open the door to reveal a very quiet compartment. Only problem was the one occupant that sat waiting for their meeting to start. Cale "too clumsy and nosy for his own good" Newell. It had slipped Dominic's mind that Newell was the other Gryffindor Prefect, which made his stomach twist at the thought of having to work with him.

Biting his lower lip, he diverted his eyes from the curly haired boy and sat on the opposite side of the compartment, unwillingly to be the first to speak.

Cale blinked as the door opened, and Dominic Denton himself walked into the compartment. He sat down, almost nervously, but didn't say anything to Cale. Huh. That was a first. Wrinkling his eyebrows, Cale wondered if Dominic had realized this was a carriage specifically for prefects--therefore meaning that other students just weren't allowed.

"Erm...hi," he said, smiling sheepishly as Dominic sat across from him. "Uhhh...you lost or something?" he asked. That had to be the only logically explanation.

Wringing his hands nervously, Dominic wasn't particularly sure what to expect out of the Prefect Carriage? Was there like a professor who would give them instructions or was it them to them to just meet? Why did they have to come here first anyway?

It was all a blur to the fifth year Hufflepuff, as he sneaked a nervous glance over at Newell again and blinked at the older boy's expression. Oh for the love of Merlin, why did he seem so surprised? But before he could utter another word, Cale broke the silence with an awkward hello.

"Oh hi," he replied back in greeting, followed by a quick shake of his head at Cale's question. "Unless this is not the Prefect Compartment, then I believe I'm in the right spot." Dominic confessed, before decidedly pulling the official parchment from his robes. "Says right here, 'Meet in the Prefects' Compartment located at the front of the train to go over some general guidelines.'" Tossing a smirk to the older boy, before stowing the parchment back in his pocket.

Cale blinked once more as Dominic pulled a very official looking letter out of his robes, to prove to Cale that he definitely was supposed to be in the same carriage as him at the moment. Finding himself at a loss of words, Cale tried to register what had just happened. Did that mean that Dominic Denton was prefect? The new Hufflepuff prefect?

Great. Just great. What was the new headmaster thinking? Slowly starting to panic inside, Cale tried to figure out what this meant for him and Anna. Last he had checked, he was on somewhat friendly terms with Dom--and by somewhat friendly, he meant simply not biting his head off every time he saw him. What if Dominic tried to tell Cale and Anna what to do? Oh noes oh noes oh noes! That couldn't happen! Cale was a 7th year, and to him, no one but professors and staff told him what to do.

"You mean--you're the new--you got the badge?" he asked, trying to confirm his fears as Dominic smirked at him. The boy was probably getting a kick out of this, he was. Silly Huffie.

Dominic couldn't help but find amusement in the situation as Cale finally came to terms with reality. Obviously he was in fact supposed to be in the same compartment as him, for which he felt more terrible for himself. But not as terrible as it would be once Anna arrived, as the fifth year was not looking forward to their mushiness. Though it was just Cale right now and they weren't biting each other's heads off or ears or whatever, which was probably a good thing. Besides, the expression on his face was just priceless.

Continuing to smirk, Dominic just nodded at him, "Unless they sent me a fake prefect badge just for kicks with an official parchment, then I do believe I am the new Hufflepuff Prefect." Dominic informed Cale proudly, contemplating on whether he should inform of the news about Kayla too. It was tempting, but the fifth year decided that it would be best to just wait for her arrival - as who knew if she had really been truthful with him in the streets. They would find out soon enough though.

"So, you ready for the new term then?" Ah yes, rub it in. It was going to be a long term and Dominic Denton was looking forward to every moment of it.

So it was true. They had traded in Seth Paton for Dominic Denton over in the Hufflepuff Common Room. Booooo. As Cale sat there, finally letting everything soak in, he realized that this honestly wasn't tooooo bad. They were getting along now, weren't they? Dominic had never winked at his girlfriend, had he? Yes, he finally concluded that Dominic was probably a much better match for the badge than Seth ever could be.

He watched as the Hufflepuff smugly started to return back to his normal, not-so-shy self that Cale was used to and smirked back at him. "Yeah, I suppose so, although some of these younger kids might be kind of wild now that Rae is gone. Or some of the older students might want to break in our new Head with some practical jokes or whatnot, so it should be veryyyy interesting," he added. Perhaps he could scare the fifth year into thinking that prefects actually had it tough sometimes. Even though the only major catastrophe Cale had encountered last year was that possessed girl who chucked fireballs at him, Dominic didn't know that--maybe he could convince him that being prefect was actually hard. Bwahaha.

After putting her luggage away, Anna headed towards the compartment now designated for house prefects. This type of compartment was new, or it was to Anna, at least. Ever since she'd been a prefect, she'd always just sat in any compartment she wished to sit in. It was sort of exciting to know that one special compartment had been set aside for only eight students, two of them including Anna and Cale. When Anna finally reached the compartment, she slid open the doors and stepped in.

Cale and Dominic...and only Cale and Dominic. Wow. It was a thousand wonders the compartment hadn't caught fire or been destroyed in some other way yet. Of course Anna set her eyes on her boyfriend first, though. "Hey, Babe. How do you like our new compartment? Pretty cool, huh?" Anna asked, taking a seat right next to Cale. Anna eyed Dominic, not really sure what to say to the younger Hufflepuff boy. She and Dominic weren't really what you would call friends, but they weren't enemies either. Plus, the fact still remained that the boy had really awesome eyes. "So, erm, ready for a new school year, Dominic?" Anna asked. Yeah, lame question, but what else was there to talk about?

So here starts another school year and Kayla was unsure of whether she was excited or not. Yes she was looking forward to going back to Hogwarts but it wasn't going to be the same without Nicholai there. She sighed as she made her way through the train, she said hello to people that she knew as she passed the ompartments.

She headed nervously to the Prefect's compartment, she of course knew Anna and Cale although she had never really gotten the opportunity to talk to him. And then there was Denton and she rolled her eyes, it was going to be a rather long year having to work alongside him. She was however looking forward to meeting the other Prefects.

Kayla stood outside the compartment and took a deep breath before entering. She opened the door and spotted Anna and Cale immediately and of course Denton was there too. "Hello everyone" she murmured giving Anna and Cale a bright smile and merely inclining her head towards Denton. "This is pretty cool" she commented as she took a seat at the opposite end to Denton.

Dominic wasn't really sure whether Newell was really happy for him or not with being prefect. Part of him wanted to say that silly Gryffindor was indeed proud to be working along side, but at the same time they never really had been the best of friends. Well as long as they were civil, then there wasn't really much more to have hoped for.

He noticed that Cale followed his own smirk with one himself; oh yes, this was going to definitely be an exciting term. But then he proceeded to tell him about the wild kids and practical jokes. Was Newell for real? Because he was certainly making it seem like this Prefect job was going to difficult. And even though Dominic should have been worried - he wasn't. "Oh really? But wouldn't pranking the new Head classify as some sort of means for expulsion?" He raised one brow, not believing the older Gryffie one bit.

But before Dominic had the moment to dwell more on the subject of wild kids and pranking, the door slid open which meant that another of the prefects would be arriving. To no surprise of Denton, it was the lovely Girlfriend of the curly haired boy across the compartment. Of course she spoke to him first and took a seat next to him to make herself comfortable before eying him. "Hmm?" he answered, at first unaware she was speaking to him. "Oh hey Anna, yes, I suppose this new year will bring many great surprises." And that was saying something, considering the numbers of surprises he'd already encountered before the train.

Including a fifth year hufflepuff by the name of Kayla Winters. The moment he thought about that though, it was hardly a second later when the door slid open once again and the blond stepped inside smiling instantly towards the happy lovesick Gryffindor couple and offering him a mere incline. "Hello Winters," he inclined his head in return, simply shrugging at her 'pretty cool' comment. He highly doubted she wanted to speak to him anyway. "Looking forward to the upcoming term?"

When the compartment door opened again, Anna looked up to see Kayla, the female Hufflepuff prefect, coming inside. Anna smiled at her new friend, happy to no longer be the only female in the compartment. She and Kayla had thankfully come a long way since last school year. After the whole incident with Anna being photographed looking as if she was kissing Kayla's boyfriend, she and Kayla hadn't spoken for quite a while. Things seemed to be back to normal and better than ever, though. "Welcome to our lovely compartment," Anna playfully greeted. "It seems we're supposed to meet and greet in here or something like that. Whatever, though. You ready for a new school year?"

Anna allowed her eyes to wander over to Dominic and Cale, who, of course, appeared to be not neccesarily getting along. She wondered what they'd been discussing before she came in. She didn't ask, though. She figured if she hung around long enough, she'd figure it all out anyway. Anna started to nonchalantly reply to Dominic's mention of a school year of surprises, but he'd started talking to Kayla by then, so it was no use anyway. Shrugging slightly, Anna turned back to Cale, grabbing both his hands in hers. "Well, let's make this school count," she said, smiling a little and then taking a deep sigh. If Cale was only going to attend school with her one more year, she was going to make sure they made the most of it.

As Kayla took her seat she noticed the greeting she received from Denton and it echoed her own and she held back a giggle. She placed her bag beside her and was just getting comfortable when Dominic spoke to her and she had to hide the look of surprise on her face. Kayla, was debating on whether to answer him or not, did he even care on what her answer would be? Deciding why not, at least this way she would be able to see what she was up against this year.

"Why yes I am Den...uh Dominic" she finally answered. "Should be rather interesting with a new head of the school and all the staff changes. It's going to be like starting Hogwarts all over again" and then she decided to really go for full effect. "And I'm rather looking forward to working alongside both the old prefects and the new ones..."she gave him a pointed look..."all of the prefects."

Turning to Anna, Kayla smiled warmly. "Why thank you Anna, it feels good to be here." She nodded as Anna spoke of their commitments. "As ready as I'll ever be I guess. Every new year is daunting, even after all this time. What about you?"

Kayla watched as Anna grabbed Cale's hand and she looked out the window for a moment with a small smile on her face. She was rather glad that both she and Anna had managed to forget about all the drama of last year and become friends. At least she knew she had someone to go to if she had any problems,
this whole prefect thing was rather scary.

Finding it difficult to sit still, Kayla rose out of her seat. "I might go and get something to eat from up front."

Dominic sat quietly for a moment as he watched Anna and Kayla conversing playfully. Well they seemed to get along just dandy, but then again it was Anna Greingoth and the fifth year knew few people that didn't really seem to find someway to tolerate her. He blinked a few times though as he could have sworn Anna was wondering what was going on between him and Cale. For once, not much.

Though she didn't seem to bother him about his comment on the term bringing great surprises, which Dom guessed to be due mostly from Kayla's entrance and his starting a conversation with her. Shrugging, he redirected his attention back at Winters, noticing her look of shock when he had spoken to her.

In half a mind to leave the compartment because she didn't seem to want to answer him at all, Dominic was just getting ready to stand when she spoke. And ... used his name! Glancing out the window quickly in efforts to hide his surprise, he turned back after a moment in hopes the look at passed.

"Yes, all the talk does seem to be about the new head and professor changes. But just how many are there?" He questioned inquisitively, not expecting her to know more than him. He just knew of Rae, Lainey, and Carracio. "It's only Herbology and History of Magic, I think. Since I would just assume that Professor Myers would be promoted to full time instructor for Defense." That at least made sense to this Hufflepuff. Plus the thought of his role model not being there terrified him no end.

He blinked again though when stated she was looking forward to working alongside the old and new prefects; all of them. Including him. For the love of canaries - one minute she could be critically insane and his worst nightmare and the next she was talking like they were the bestest of colleagues!

Sighing quietly, the fourteen year old decided it to be just best if he didn't respond at all to that. Not that he was unwilling to work alongside her or the others, but more that he was unwilling to admit it. Pride definitely got the better of him.

Deep in thought, Dominic hardly was aware of those around him. Not until Kayla spoke again of getting something to eat, which sounded to be a splendid idea. Rising as well, he turned towards the Gryffindor Prefects, "I think I might go as well in finding something to eat and then patrol the corridors for a bit. See you guys later." Despite that he enjoyed the quietness of the Prefect compartment, which offered the opportunity to escape from the wildness of the students, he knew he couldn't hide from duties forever.

Clifford couldn't deny, he was a little ... nervous. Nervous about walking into a compartment? Eh. Okay, that was kinda pathetic. Hmpf. He needed to pull himself together like the big, strong, brave boy man he was. GRRR!

That didn't stop him unconsciously squeezing Evangeline's hand a little tighter. She was used to all this Prefect lark. He wasn't! The small badge pinned to the front of his robes still felt freaky and kinda out of place. Oh goodness, what if he walked in there and finally got told this was all a mistake? NUU!

He'd get through this. He had Evangeline and he had bazillions of sweets bursting from his pockets thanks to a quick trip to the snack cart. That's all he needed. Hehe.

They didn't have to stay here long anyway, did they? Hmmm. He didn't think so. "Let's get this over with then.." He finally mumbled with a small sigh as he slid open the compartment door. What appeared to be the two new Puff Prefects were apparently leaving ... which left them with just Newell and Greingoth. Great. Super. Just bloody fantabulous.

NOT!

Still clinging tight to his girlfriend's hand, Clifford led Evangeline into the compartment and collapsed in the seat opposite Newell. Ew.

Cale watched as Kayla Winters, who was evidentally the new Huffie prefect, entered the compartment. There was some obvious tension in the air, anyone would be blind to not notice it. He made a mental note that the two Huffie prefects didn't seem to get along with each other very well and gave a little wave goodbye as both of them proceeded to leave a few moments later. Sheesh, couldn't they find a group of prefects who actually got ALONG for a change?

And, speak of the devil, Clifford and Evangeline arrived moments later. Booooooooo. Cale had been hoping that neither of them would show up for the journey and sit somewhere else on the train. Clifford didn't say hi, of course, which was only to be expected, and Cale glanced at Anna really quickly. She had just brought up the fact that they had to make his last year at school count, something he was still trying to forget, so he sent her a look that said "Not now, we'll talk about it later."

Looking back at the Slythie prefects, Cale cleared his throat. "Erm, hi Clifford. Hi Evangeline," he said, mustering the smallest smile he could in greeting.

Evangeline had a theory. A very simple theory, actually: if the train ride back to Hogwarts were smooth and good, the year would be the same - smooth and good. And so far, the train ride was being really good. Granted, nothing had really happened yet and they had just left London, but she was with Clifford already! That was more than she had achieved in alot of past train rides. Yes, sir.

As she walked through the corridor, her hand being squeezed by his, her thumb brushing his skin affectingly, she couldnt help the tiniest hint of a smug smile from creeping to her lips. There they were, sixth years, both with their pretty, shiny Prefect badge pinned up to their Slytherin robes. Hah! They were just too cool.

She could sense that Clifford was a bit nervous though, and when she saw the sign on the door, saying it was the Prefect's compartment, she smiled reassuringly at him. He probably still thought they had got it wrong. Pfft. As if Edward Forrester was ever wrong about anything.

And what was it with this compartment anyway? It had never existed, had it? She didn't remember, but then again, last term she had been busy bumping into people and falling over. Maybe she had just missed it? Hmmm. Whatever had happened, she knew that the atmosphere in there wouldn't be too good. For all she knew, Newell was still Prefect, like his girlfriend. She didnt like Newell that much, Clifford didnt like the couple that much.

How amazing, eh? Not!

And just to make it all better, the Gryffindor couple was the only people in there. Goodness, she had seen Dominic and Kayla walk away, had the Gryffies scared them already? Pfft. Closing the compartment door behind her, she followed Clifford and sat next to him, smiling politely at the Gryffindor Prefects. She didnt particularly like them, yes, and she was still mad that she had lost the House Cup to them, but they were still Prefects. And as Prefects, they were above that. Superior beings that put their differences aside so as to manage to work together for a better school.

Snort. Yeah, right.

There was no harm in pretending, though. "Hi, Cale .. Anna." She muttered back, nodding at them both in turn. She looked at Clifford for a brief second, hoping he'd come and rescue her from having to do small talking. But knowing him, he'd hmpf and turn away from the Gryffindors. So it was up to her, really. Bah! "Had a nice summer, I presume?" She asked, turning back to the Anna and Cale.

They'd only just got here and sat themselves down, and already he was itching to get on out of there. There was clearly a hint of tension in the air and clearing his dry throat anxiously, Clifford shuffled uncomfortably in his seat. Bleh. It was much cosier when it was just he and Evangeline in a compartment sharing Chocolate Frogs. Well, he tried to share them. Eh.

He hadn't really been expecting Newell to say anything and slowly turned to face the Gryffindor Prefects, acknowledging them both with a simple nod. Ack. He sucked at this whole ... trying to be civil thing. He'd rather just get the heck outta there. And sharpish too.

He did catch that small glance from Evangeline though, and heaved a tiny sigh. "Uhm - Right.. nice summer?" Bleh. Like he even cared.

As Anna talked with Cale, she was vaguely aware of the banter going on between Dominic and Kayla. Those two were quite the pair, and working with them during prefect duties should be...well, interesting. When Anna heard Kayla address her, she turned around and returned the smile Kayla was giving her. "I don't think you'll have too much trouble with your prefect duties," Anna replied, eyeing Dominic as she said the word trouble. I was a little nervous at first, but I've done just fine." Then again, Lyra and Agie weren't at Hogwarts the first two years Anna had been prefect. Something told her that those two were going to give the prefects quite a time this year. "I'm really excited about another year starting. New professors...new students... I think it's going to be fun," she added. Anna nodded in the direction of both Hufflepuff prefects when they decided to head elsewhere on the train. "Alright, see you around," she said.

As soon as Dominic and Kayla exited, the Slytherin prefects made their way into the compartment. Anna had heard Clifford was the male Slytherin prefect, and of course Evangeline was returning as the female Slytherin prefect. Anna eyed them both for a moment, unsure of whether or not she should speak. Clifford and Evangline didn't quite...mix well with Cale and Anna. Of course Anna wanted to speak to them, she just wasn't sure how they would react. As far as Anna knew, Evangeline had no problem with her, but Clifford seemed to not really care for her or Cale for some reason or another. Deciding that she should put her best foot forward and actually speak, Anna greeted the two with a smile. "Clifford. Evangeline," she said, nodding to each as she said their name. "I hope you had a nice summer." She stopped at that point, unsure of how the conversation would flow if she said much more. When Evangeline asked Anna about her own summer, Anna replied with a polite, "It was good. I'm missing the break already."

Just like she had predicted, the air was so thick inside this compartment you could almost cut it with a knife. It was sorta pathetic, but the fact they weren't at eachother's throats yet was definitely a good sign. She thought so, anyway. They were being civilised and behaving like Prefects, therefore honouring their badges. Hehe.

She knew that Clifford wasn't feeling that comfortable, though, and she gave his hand a soft, comforting squeeze. They could do this, be civilised. They had to do small talk for a while, then they could always go and escape the thickness of the atmosphere by saying they had to do some patrolling. Yup. That sounded good enough.

Her blue eyes fixed their attention on Anna when she began talking and she absent mindedly nodded. To be honest, she didnt think she had ever spoken to the girl, and, truth to be told, she sounded polite enough. But she was Cale's girlfriend, which clearly meant there was something wrong with her. Unless, of course, the boy had bought a bunch of those Weasley products that promised eternal love.

"It was rather nice, yes." Evangeline replied simply, with a small smile .. this time a real one too. Not because of Anna, but because of the summer. It had been a nice summer. It had been the best summer since her first year. This summer she had actually managed to see Clifford. More than once. And as far as she knew, Brutus Carden hadn't given his son any kind of problem. No more than usual, anyway.

Realising the girl had spoken up again, Evangeline stopped daydreaming and nodded at the girl's words. Missed the break. She didnt, not by one bit. Evangeline loved Hogwarts, she loved having classes and homework and exams. She loved the race for the points and she the common room. Summer was just .. boring. And far too hot in her opinion. Unconsciously, she readjusted her position so that she was closer to her boyfriend. "I'm sure this will be an exciting enough term, though." Oh yes. With the new Headmistress or Headmaster and all.

Why isn't anyone else showing up? Cale thought in panic to himself. If Anna expected him to sit here and play nice with the Slytherin's for the whole frazzling train ride, she was seriously mistaken. Where was Ravvie Cale? Or the other Ravenclaw prefect, whose identity still remained a mystery to him. Heck, he'd even like to have Dominic back in the cart with him, and he wasn't exactly best pals with him either.

"Summer? Oh, it was good...we went to Hawaii," he told them. He left out some of the embarrassing bits, like the fact that he had gotten so burnt he looked like a lobster, and if you looked really REALLY closely, you could still see a hint of the sunglass lines that had burned into his face as well. No need to give Clifford more material to work with.

He saw Evangeline give Clifford's hand a squeeze and suddenly felt the need to be closer to his own girlfriend too. More powerful in two's, that was his philosophy. He inched slightly closer, since they were already holding hands, and tuned back into the conversation Evangeline was trying to evoke. "Oh. Right. With the new Head and all. That should be fun," he said with a smile. "There's a load of new staff members as well, right?" he asked.

Anna was glad she'd greeted the Slytherin prefects politely. They'd been equally polite...sort of...and so far no one had started arguing. This was a pretty good starting point, if Anna did say so herself. Perhaps the four of them were on their way to some sort of friendly relationship. She doubted they'd ever be the best of friends, but as co-prefects, they could at least get along...right? Nevertheless, Anna didn't want to overdo anything right now, so she thought now was a good time to make her exit. She'd been wanting to explore the front of the train for a while anyway.

"Well," she said, releasing her hands from Cale's and standing up. "I think I'm going to see what's going on in the front of the train. I'll see everyone later on, alright? Cale, I'll be in the front area if you want to come hang out for a while." She knew he'd probably leave shortly after she did. He was probably a tad uncomfortable, as she imagined everyone else to sort of be, as well. Anna slid open the compartment doors and headed down the aisles towards the front compartments.

Well, at least there wasn't any shouting or flying fists going on yet, that at least had to be a pretty decent start! WOOT! Sure, he thought both Newell and Greingoth were kinda annoying and incredibly bossy, but he could keep that to himself. Yup, 'cause he was a good boy. AND he was now a Prefect.. he had to learn how to keep that short temper on a leash. This whole being polite and civil thing was good practise.

He still wasn't as comfortable as he'd liked to be though, and still squeezing Evangeline's hand tight, tapped his foot nervously. "I hope the new teachers are nice.." He mumbled in response to Newell's comment about there being new staff this term. "And I hope they don't give us tons of homework either.." Heck, he'd barely been able to keep up last term and he didn't have Prefect duties then. Lucky he had Evangeline to help. Without her.. well, to say he'd be well and truly stuck would even be an understatement.

He was a little surprised when Greingoth decided to up and leave and raised one curious eyebrow. She was leaving him and Evangeline alone with Newell? Bleh.

No matter how much Evangeline tried to block the words out, it seemed she was having some serious trouble doing it and she could not help but to hear them ringing in her ears, over and over again. We went to Hawaii. We. Cale and Anna were spending holidays together when all Evangeline could wish for was Clifford to spend some of his days with her while Mr. Carden thought he was at Bella's.

Days. Hours, more like it, since eventually he had to go. And the Gryffindors got to spend months. Months!

Ack, how she hated them right now.

"That sounds ... fun." She managed to mutter at last, forcing a smile at Cale. She only hoped it looked more real than it felt. She nodded her head at Cale's comment regarding the staff. "I think so. It'll be interesting to see how the new teachers ... teach us." She hoped the new Herbology teacher made the subject easier than Carracio. She admired Carracio, truly, she did, but goodness .. sometimes she had trouble understanding what he was saying!

Noticing how Clifford had begun to tap his foot restlessly, she moved her free hand to his knee, squeezing it too in the hopes of calming him down. She knew it'd be better to just leave ... but, she didn't want to be the first to leave. Oh no. Still, she wasn't expecting just one of them to leave, though, and looked up at Anna, surprised, when the girl announced she was gonna go.

She was leaving his boyfriend alone, in a compartment with two Slytherins who openly disliked the boy? Wow. Either she didnt know that .. or she didnt value Cale's life. Bwahaha.

"Yeah, see you." She said politely as she left, before turning to Clifford and smiling brightly at him. She knew she just had one thing left to be completely civilised towards Cale. Something she hadn't gotten the chance to do last term, but that she wouldn't have done either. Her pride wouldn't have allowed it.

Clearing her throat quietly and brushing the few strands of hair that her green headband couldn't hold away from her eyes, she turned back to Newell. "I never got the change to congratulate you and your House for winning the House Cup last term. Well done." She said with a small nod, the nicest smile she could manage for him on her lips.

Bwahaha.

Kayla made her way back into the Prefect compartment just to pick up her bag and she felt the tension in the air the moment she walked in. It was actually worse then when she and Denton were in the same room together. Kayla looked between Cale and Anna and the two Slytherin Prefects Evangeline and Clifford, should she say something to break the ice and try to warm up the freezing temperature that seemed to have settled over them.

She opened her mouth to say something when a strange thought occurred to her and she didn't know what made her think of it right at that moment. As she looked between the four of them she realised that they were both couples as well. Well she seriously hoped that she didn't drink the same water as them because just the thought of her and Denton together....ewww.

Kayla had to stifle a giggle what a stupid thing to think about. She looked at the two Slytherins again. "Hello Evangeline" she finally managed to say and then she looked towards Clifford. "Hello Clifford. Did you both have a nice summer?"
