Qaz entered the large stone building, anxious to meet her new charge. It smelled like one of the buildings at the County Fair...cages full of animals, even tiny babies, tended to smell similar.

Walking through the building, looking for her baby, Qaz was amazed at all the creatures represented. Somehow, she thought it would have been noisier...

Finally, she came upon the cage with her baby Jarvey. She had named him Chaos. He might not look like it now, but she was sure that he'd live up to his name in due time.

Such a tiny ball of fur. It looked like he was asleep. Qaz opened the door of the cage and very slowly reached in, gently putting her hand next to the little furball. She didn't want to rush things. In a whisper, she said, 'Hello little fella. Handsome little fella. I'm your new mama.' Very gently, stroking him with one finger. 'How do you like the name Chaos? I think it's going so suit you just fine.'

The little bundle of fur moved a little, but didn't seem to want to play or anything, so Qaz removed her hand and closed the cage door. 'No worries. We have plenty of time to get to know each other. You just do your baby best. Eat and sleep and poop and play, cuz that's the baby way....and I'll come back and see you again tomorrow.'

Qaz exited the building with a smile on her face. She was going to enjoy this, but she knew somebody that wouldn't like it one bit. She would have to remember to wash up after every visit, or a certain spoiled Tabby would surely express his jealousy....

Ray entered the large stone building, anxious to meet her new creature. It smelled like one of those muggle houses where they kept there horses. Where ever he went that smell seemed to follow him.

Walking through the building, Ray noted on the wide variety of the creatures that the professor had brought in. There was one girl just in front of him, a Ravenclaw to be more accurate.

The boy in front of him stopped at a certain cage. She had finally found his new charge.
Oh I see she got a Jarvey Ray said to himself as he observed the girl trying to play with her small pet. How small this one is Ray added. Well I hope she gets to teach him good words... Sometimes Jarveys can be a bit rude Ray added to himself as he continued searching for his charge.

Just a couple of cages away, Ray found finally what he came to search for. A Streeler. For a Streeler, Ray's was a little small, he was just as big as the Jarvey and was circling around in his cage. Ray quickly noted that the trail the Streeler was leaving behind it. It didn't burn the grass completely but it showed that it had capability maybe for the future.
"Hello there" Ray saluted his pet. I wonder what I shall call him... Ray thought as a huge number started to gather in his brain. "Oh! I know I will call you Kazza" Ray revealed to the snail as it moved towards him. Ray opened his cage and petted the snail's head, which used it's antenna and caressed Ray's hand.
It was humind and it sent to him a tingling sensation. "I think you like your new name don't you.... We will have a great time together Kazza" Ray added to the small pet. He touched his shell which quickly turned from a slight brown color to dirt color. "Oh amazing!!" Ray added as he got his wand out. The pet was still feeling him with his antenna's. Ray looked around and found some leaves lying around. He summoned them and conjured them into the pet's cage.
"Bon A'petit" Ray said to the snail which turned his attention to the new reverve of food and moved towards it and started eating.
"Kazza I will see you tomorrow" Ray said after he noticed that it was getting late. "Can't wait to know you better." Ray added as he moved towards nursery's exit. He looked around and noticed that the snail had disappeared in his shell. Ray smiled and closed the door behind him.

Paris walked into the hut, she saw a few other students caring for their creatures. This might actual be fun, even if she didn't get the abraxan she wanted. That was ok, she could get her daddy to buy her one when she went home for the summer.

She looked around at all the small cages and things, it was fairly quiet in here. She expected more noise, and a stronger smell, but she was glad Professor Morgan kept a clean house. She had spent part of her summer a dragon reserve and that was a smell she wanted to forget.

She walked around looking at things and just getting the lay of the land, when it felt like her feet were knocked from under her and she went head first into a large water dish.

SPLASH

She coughed and sputtered s she pushed her face out of the water and she glared around for the culprit so she could curse their socks off. Her whole upper body was soaking wet and the water was slowly making its way down to the rest of her body.

Her smoldering brown eyes fell on a little black figure hiding behind one of the posts. The little thing was rocking with silent laughter. "You little minx," She said not being able to be mad at the Imp. Tripping people into water was what it did. She pushed herself up off the ground and walked over to the thing to read the tag that was around its neck.

She looked at the Imp, "Well its looks like we are going to get to know each other a lot better." She told the imp as it continued to laugh at her and points is long finger at her. She picked up the Imp and it scrambled all over her hand and up her arm to settle on her shoulder. "What should I call you?" She asked the imp as she walked over to its cage to peek inside to make sure her baby was comfortable. "How about Chanel?" She said thinking about the name. It was her favorite clothier. She already had a monkey named Prada so she couldn't use that. "I think thats a nice name." She watched as the imp walked back down her arm into its cage. "You like that?" She imp turned back at her and nodded its head. "Good you shall be Chanel dahling," She cooed. This was going to be fabulous, she thought. A stylish Imp, who would have thought.

Ana almost ran into the nursery. She was anxious to meet her creature. There were already one boy and two girls but they looked older. After a few cages she found her Kneazle. It's interesting, she has a cat at home and a kneazle at Hogwarts. Sooooo cute she thought.

"Hello Padfoot! I hope you like your name" she said smiling and start playing with him "Who's the cutest kneazle ever... yes you are!.

After several minutes of playing she decided to feed him and then he can go sleep. "Are you hungry Padfoot?" she said while she prepared the especial milk to her kneazle. He was already meowing and jumping anxious to his milk. She help feed him. Then she put clean water and solid kitten food on the dish.

Then she start to stroke to help him sleeping. The orange Kneazle fell asleep.

"You are so cute, did you know..." she said. She snuggle him. "Bye bye Padfoot! I see you tomorrow"

And very slowly she left the nursery extremely happy for her pet.

Barry huried over to the nusery. He had forgotten to meet his pet. He looked for the right pen. A niffler, was what he had gotten. He took it out and was supprised to find it licked his face. "Your Illiana, you`ll love that name"

He then said to his pet " Now close your eyes and no peeking I want you to look for the gold that I hide" he then put one of his hands in frount of the eyes of Illiana and with the other he waved his wand and with magic hid two knuts. "Well off you go" he said and after barley a minuite the niffler reterned with two knuts. They did this over and over. Then time being up. He took back the Niffler to its Pen. "See you later Illiana" he said and then he left. Next time he would bring food, what did they eat?

Nathaniel was so excited to meet his creature. He had ran up to the library earlier to research his new baby Augurey. He walked through the the building looking at all the little baby creatures. He personally didn't know any of the people that he saw in there. Maybe someone he knew would pop in. At last he finally found his little guy.A little thing full of fluff for now. His feathers would grow in in due time. His fluff was beautiful though. It was greenish black. Nathaniel had after looking up Irish names decided to name his guy Aimirgin . Nathaniel peered into his cage "Hey little guy. I'm Nate. I'll be taking care of you" he smiled.

Nathaniel opened Aimirgin's cage and put his hand in there. The bird looked at his hand and looked up at Nathaniel's face "Go ahead. I won't hurt you." he said with a smile. After a few minutes the little bird hopped into Nate's hand. He slowly lifted his hand out of the cage and held the bird close to him.Nate petted him for a little while.He decided he'd come back later today to take Aimirgin outside. He didn't want to freak him out with all the new stuff at one time. After petting and loving on the bird Nate returned him to his cage. "I'll be back later Aimirgin. I'm going to go to the library and look up some more information." he said as he picked up his backpack and walked out.

Ruby walked to nursery and smiled she had reasrched the baby magical creature she would be looking after and Imp not so bad quite mischievous and full of trickery, suit her and her desentents then she thought she was thinking of a name as she finally reached the nursary and she thought of one a really nice one, it was girly but oh well she would have a baby girl imp.

She found her imp that the professor had told her was hers and she picked her up and said "Hello Emelda your my new baby for a little while" she popped the imp with some difficulty back in the cage and found some food for her and looked at her watch "i will be back later Emelda i have to go to lesson now" she blew her a kiss and left the nursery.

Heidi walked into the building, and noticed some other students with their pets. She smiled as she made her way past the other students. Finally she made her way in front of the cage she was looking for. There, looking back at her with puppy dog eyes, was her Crup.

"Hi there," she said while opening the cage. "Ohh, your so cute," she said picking him up. She held him in her arms and went to sit down. "Now then," she said picking him up like a baby. "I see your a boy, and will call you Max!" The crup tilted his head as she gave him a name. He seemed to like the name.

"We're going to have so much fun," she told him, petting him. She played with him for a while, until she had to get to class. "I'll come by later, and we'll have more time to play Max." She got up and put him back in his cage. "I'll be back, you be a good boy now, ok." Heidi found it rather difficult to leave Max there, she was out the door of the building and she was already missing him.

Freya stepped into the nursery, glad that she had been able to take part in this 'project'. 'Seems more like a break from class to me, so I won't complain...'

She walked along the rows of smaller cages that lined the one side of the room. 'I can't seem to find my name.' Freya thought as she searched for a tag with her name, once she found it she would know what animal was her responsibility. 'Aha! Found it!' She kneeled down next to one of the cages after spotting her name, and looked inside the cage.

"Awwwww..." 'It's so bloody cute!' Okay, maybe not everyone would think that, but Freya thought it was adorable. The animal resembled a hedgehog...in a way, but had noticeably pointier teeth, shorter snout and longer claws and quills. The creature was a brown-grey color, and blended in with the contents of the cage.

Freya found a pair of gloves nearby, carefully opened the cage, and took out her animal. "Aren't you the sweetest thing..." She said quietly and calmly to the little animal as it made no attempt to flee, but blinked it's eyes against the bright light outside. Freya looked at the tag again, "Female huh? Now I've got to decide what to name you..." She kept the animal close to her, allowing the little thing to remain in the shade. "Hmm, oh, I know, Noor. It means 'light', which you apparently have to get used to soon."

After deciding on a name, Freya took the animal out to the pen for a while, allowing her to sniff around and dig in some of the soft dirt that was in the area. 'Maybe I should clean, Noor's cage as well, that might be nice.' Thinking for a moment, Freya rummaged through her side-bag and pulled out a tissue box, still containing the paper. She emptied the tissues from the box and placed them in her bag again, but kept the box out. After a few more minutes, Freya picked, Noor up and headed back to the Knarl's cage. Freya placed the tissue box inside and filled it with some new, clean shavings. "That should make things a little more comfortable." Freya said to the little animal as she placed her back inside and watched for another moment.

Noor dug around in her cage for a while, kicking shavings everywhere so that they even found their way into Freya's hair. Freya took out an apple and cut it up into very tiny cubes, offering some to the animal in a small dish that was provided. Noor sniffed the food for a moment before turning her back on it and crawled into her box, falling asleep within a few moments.
Freya sighed a bit, 'Babys always sleep so much. Guess I should be going though, I've been here for a while.' She made one last check on the cage before locking the clasp and heading back to the common room.

OH WOW! Excitement was the main ingredient that was drawing Hugo towards the nursery. His emerald eyes bulged happily as he stepped inside the stone building, his knuckles whitening as his fingers gripped the Care of Magical Creatures book tightly. EEE! This was so exciting! Sure, his little sisters each had their own kneazle back home, but besides that, the closest thing he'd had to a magical pet was his pygmy puff, Minnie. But she didn't really do anything except sleep and make his pillow fluffy. And his baby kitten, Coco, had less magic than a muggle. So basically, he was SUPER DUPER excited to finally have his very own magical pet. Squeal!

As if his bright eyed look didn't give away his excitement, Hugo's next expression did. As he bounced into the room, his stopped still. His pupils grew until there was little green left in his eyes, and his mouth hung open in a small 'o'. It took all of his strength not to drop the book. It was taking all his will power not to run through the nursery, opening every cage and cuddling each little animal. BUT! He was here for one purpose, and one purpose only; to find his new babeh Clabbert and bring her up in the best way possible. And to pass his CoMC final, duh. If he was good at anything, it was CoMC, so he wanted to make a thorough job of it.

Shoving his edition of 'Fantastic Beasts and where to find them' into his backpack, Hugo wandered towards the shelf and picked himself up some gloves. He'd planned each meeting with his pet perfectly, and had decided that seeing as this was his first session with the clabbert, it should be a simple meet and greet. Being a creature lover, he knew that to go straight in a try to care for an animal was NOT the way to go. You had to build trust and friendship first.

It was the same with any friendship, creature or human.

Whistling a cheerful tune, Hugo made his way towards the cages which were filled with clabberts. There were about four others, each the same mottled green, each with a red pustule on their head. Finally, after seemed like forever, he reached the cage with a label that read: "GEORGIE. OWNED BY HUGO WOODS." His eyes shone like a beacon of light, dazzling everything in their path of brightness. EEK! He beamed down at tiny Georgie, opening her cage carefully. She grinned up at him with her wide mouth, and to his relief, the pustule on her head did not begin to flash. THAT meant that she sensed no danger with his presence. Phewww. He held out his hand carefully, making sure that he didn’t make any sudden movements that would frighten her.

Slowly but surely, Georgie the Clabbert climbed out onto Hugo’s arm, her webbed feet allowing her to agilely shimmy up to his shoulder, where she perched happily. He felt his whole body tingle with pleasure that he was bonding with his pet! HIS PET! “Heeere, Georgie baby,” he cooed, tickling the green frog-monkey under the chin. She seemed to grin even wider than usual, and leapt from one shoulder to the other.

Oh oh oh!

Twenty minutes passed before Hugo checked his watch. Tomorrow was feeding time, that was for sure. He’d become close to his Georgie Porgie already! It was brilliant. Placing her gently back into her cage, he blew her a kiss. “See you tomorrow Georgiiie!” He giggled, before skipping out of the nursery, a smile on his handsome face.

Seeing as he has no classes today Nathaniel had left the library and headed down to visit Aimirgin again. This time he'd take him out into the pin so he could walk around a little. He was sure that Aimirgin couldn't fly just yet. Plus the fact that his species only liked to fly in the rain.

Nathaniel had added a tint of green and length to his black hair since seeing the little dude this morning and hoped that it wouldn't throw him off. He walked into the building and passed a guy writing in his journal. Nate smiled at him and continued down to Aimirgin's cage.

Nathaniel walked up slowly to the cage "Hey little buddy.I'm back" he said as he unlocked the cage. He slipped his hand in there but the bird didn't move. Figured. He had read that they were really shy. "Now I just held you a few hours ago. Trust me..please" he added. After a few minutes the bird went into his cupped hand. Nathaniel slowly took his hand out of the cage and brought his hand to his chest.

Nathaniel kept a grip on the bird so he wouldn't escape before they got into the pin. It was a nice day out which was good. They got to the pen and with his one free hand Nathaniel unlocked it and went in and locked it back. He found a good spot and sat down. "Ok Aimirgin I'm going to let you down to roam a little bit. I'm sure if you're hungry you can find some bugs in the grass.If not I'll find some for you." said the second year as he set the little puff ball down.

Mackenzie walked into the nursery and took in all the animals. She soon found her's and it was a Streeler. It was a bright rose color at the moment, and even though she knew the color would change Mackenzie had already thought of her name. She opened the door to the cage it was in and stepped inside.

She bent over to get a better look at her Streeler. "I'm going to call you Rosey. Do you like that name?" Mackenzie said to the creature, knowing very well that it wouldn't answer her. "Why don't we get you some food?"

Mackenzie left the cage and went in search of some food for Rosey. She came back with a bag and something to put the food on. "Here you go Rosey," she said putting it down on the ground. Mackenzie then looked around to see if there was a clock in the nursery. She found one and saw that she had to get to her next class soon.

"I have to go Rosey, but don't worry. I'll be back to visit you later!" Mackenzie said looking at he little creature. A look of amazment crossed her face when Rosey turned green. She giggled and hurriedly left the nursery, so she wouldn't be late for her next class.

"Nathaniel!" Freya said as she walked up to the nursery to check on her animal...again. "How's your creature doing?" She asked politely and approached, Noor's cage. "You're still napping? Aww..." Nevertheless, Freya put on a pair of gloves and gently took her animal out. "You're all wet, sweetheart. What have you been doing?" She peeked into the pen and spotted the water supply had been disturbed. "Oh. Good job." Freya told the animal as she held her close, Noor was still curled in a little ball in Freya's warm and safe hands.
Freya cleared the mess in the animal's cage and gave her new water, and also noticed that Noor had eaten some of the apple Freya had left before. "I see you've gotten an appetite." She said with an unnaturally delicate voice, lifting the little Knarl up to meet her eyes. "That's good."
She let out a small sigh, "I wish I could take you with me. You're such a cutie patootey." Freya placed Noor back in the pen for a moment, then brought over a small carrot, dicing it up as well and leaving a few pieces in the Knarl's dish. Noor waddled over after a moment to the dish and started to nibble for a moment, then stopped and curled up again in her box.
Freya watched, it was an improvement that Noor ate in front of her. She secured the cage and put away her supplies. Freya would make sure to visit very early in the morning tomorrow.

"Hey Freya!"Nathaniel exclaimed as he stood up."He's doing well. And yours?"he asked. He listened to Freya talk to her animal. WOW she was a softy. "Freya you're a softy when it comes to animals!"he grinned. "Like my hair?" he asked stepping into a sunbeam. It was now longer.It was to his chin black with a green tint and parted in the middle. It was wavier. He looked down at his creature and he was hunting bugs in the grass. He chuckled and looked back to Freya.

Nikita walked to the Nursery with a bounce in her step and several books under her arm. Flame was curled up in the dorms with a fishy cat treat, both to sastify him and to appease any guilt Nikita might develop. The nursery smelled of magic and baby creatures. Finding the Crups, Nikita's eyes searched out the cage labeled with her name, and her heart nearly melted when she say the baby Crup sleeping inside.

The cage was large for the animal, Jack Russell in appearance, so he had room to grow. The puppy - Nikita saw him as a puppy although technically that was not his classification - was small, and could most likely sit within both her palms cupped together. Most of his body was white, except for two black strips reaching across his back and down his right side, and a little black splotch on his rear right leg. His face was mostly black, with some white to the right of his nose and on his chin. A rich chocolate brown ran along both sides of his jaw, made little eyebrows, and outlined his ears.

Nikita walked closer to the cage, whispering the name she had decided on the way here: "Owen."

Hearing Nikita's voice, the newly named Owen opened one eye and rolled over on his back in a stretch, revealing his skinny forked tail. The fork itself was that beautiful chocolate brown. Nikita grimaced, not looking forward to the time when she would have to have that removed.

Nikita slowly opened the cage as Owen yawned, looking surprised when he fully opened his eyes and found his door open. He made no real attempt to move, but rolled over and belly crawled until he could sniff her outstretched fingers. Owen took a good minute sniffing her, then licked her fingers and gave them a soft bite.

"Hmmm," Nikita mused. "Are you hungry, Owen?" She searched the supply cabinets and her books until she found what looked like Crup food...something that looked like Muggle dog food but appeared to be a bit more raw and an unidentifiable color. She filled his food bowl with it and used her wand to fill his water container.

Nikita closed the cage as her new charge settled to his meal. "I'll stop by later today and take you out to run around in the pen, okay, Owen?" Owen glanced up at her before dipping his head down to his food again.

With a little smile, Nikita left the Nursery, worrying a little about what would happen when this project was over. Where would their new friends go?

Walking into the nursery,Whitney looked around and saw several other students with their pets. She was super excited. This was her very first Magical Creature, and although she was great with dogs,cats,rabbits etc. surely this would be a lot different. Walking down the row she finally saw a little cage with her name on it. Looking into it she realized that this was a Knarl. "How adorable!" Whitney absolutely loved it. 'It's like a hedgehog!' That's when the perfect name popped up into her head. "I shall call you Sonic," 'Like Sonic the hedgehog' "Do you like it?" she asked,picking it up and holding it up to her face. It simply stared at her and blinked. That was good enough for her.

Looking around her,Whit saw a little area with some food, and an area to allow your Magical Creature to run around and play. "Hmm...well seeing as you are still very small and young, I'll just feed you and you can go and play next time." she said talking to herself more than Sonic. Setting him down, she carefully skipped over to where the food was and grabbed some food for him to eat.

"Here ya go." Happily,she set the food down and watched and Sonic gobbled up all of the food. Someone sure was hungry. Looking at her watch,she realized that it was time for her to get back to the castle. "Okay Sonic,I'll be back very soon. Have fun!" And giving it a little peck,she waved goodbye and walked out. 'This is going to be a GREAT assignment.'

Freya looked up as she was leaving, "Uh, well, about that..." She said in response to being a softy with animals, her voice rather choppy, not intending anyone to hear her... "I prefer animals to people most times." She peered into the box where her knarl was, Noor was still taking a nap in her box, half covered with shavings. "Um, nice hair, I guess. I like long hair, so it's good if you prefer it. Hmm, not sure about the green though." 'Really, why did people have to color their hair wild colors? Not happy with what they were born with? How sad...' Freya looked to Nathaniels animal, then brought her eyes to the boys face. "I see you're all healed up. Now you've got an animal to look after."

Ruby walked back down to the Nursery and walked over to her Emelda's cage and gave her some fresh meat and a few vegtables she sat and spole to her while she ate "have you been good while i have been away darling?" she soothed she managed to pick her up with some difficulty once she had eaten and looked at her she put her into a spare cage that she had and cleaned her cage and then sat and hugged her for a while.

She put her back in her cage and spoke to Emelda and said " i have a book on you lets read up on you?" she sat and read some facts about her Imp. She sat and found an interesting passage that she would have to show Professor Morgan she read allowed but to herself

"Special Abilities. Generally, Imps don't have any special abilities. However, they're excellently adapted to their territory and can be equipped with some spell power by the mage who created them. Also, they're always resistant to extreme temperatures and certain circumstances of their territory, but they can't survive long in any other environment. For Example: Fire Imps are fire resistant and can endure beimg burnt, however, they almost die when they're exposed to water.

Territory. Imps are bound to the territory of their master. As long as they're there, Imps can draw strength from their creator, but if they're forced to leave it, they can only survive by staying close to their master and feed from his mana. As a result of this, Imps can never be used as attackers, only for defending purposes.

Habitat/Behaviour. Imps are smart, helpful and mean creatures. They are smart as a quality of their being, they are helpful concerning their master and mean against all other creatures/people who are not their master. Put together these three properties can be fatal for objects or even persons within their reach if Imps are left alone. It has been reported that Imps love to hunt down people and to torture them, but they are real cowards when they think they're going to lose. An Imp will always calculate his chances and will always choose the most profitable way. Because of this treacherous nature, it lies in the responsibilty of the mage to keep a firm grip on them. Imps are not affected by any "nice" approach. If you e.g. try to get past an Imp by offering him something, he'll grant you access and may backstab you when you've passed.

This is why they're always badly treated: a badly treated Imp will always make the calculation: "If I fight against enemies, they'll hurt me. But if I don't, master will hurt me more." This calculation does however only work if the master is near, because when he isn't, an Imp thinks his enemies more dangerous and stops fighting. When there are no other creatures around at all, Imps love to tease other Imps or to create any other form of chaos.

Diet. Imps can be fed by mana only, but they prefer real, fresh meat. They have an appetite for little birds and small animals and they seem to think that everything helpless and scared tastes even better (strange, but true). Some forest Imps can also be seen eating fruits and vegetables, but they usually distaste them and won't eat them when it isn't necessary. If an Imp hasn't caught anything, it will just steal it from somebody else or start throwing another Imps food around"

She looked at Emelda and smiled "well you are an interesting little creature aren't you?" she continued to read her books and read to Emelda

"Whatever you say Freya." he said. His creature was still hunting around in the grass for bugs "I thought you'd like it..it's a tab bit slytherinish don't you think?" in reference to his hair. "Plus I did it for Aimirgin" he grinned. He sat picked his backpack and Aimirgin up "I've got to get him back to his cage and go journal.I'll see you later Freya." he would have hugged her by but knew better. He headed towards Aimirgins cage with a limp.

Nathaniel go to Aimirgins cage and put him back in "Well little dude I've got to go work on homework. I'll be back later okay? he said as he filled the water bowl up in the cage."We will have to work on your little nest dude. I'll talk to Professor Morgan about it.I'll see you later." he latched the cage and headed out of the building.

Jude prounced happily down to the Nursery, to see his new friend. He prowled along the cages for a while until he found her. Her name was Aubrey, and she was just a tiny little grey fluff ball, but she was adorable in Jude's eyes.

"Well hi thar, Aubreh!" Jude said with a smile. Watching the bird twitch in his direction he sighed, "Aww no, don' ya be afraid o' me none, I'm 'ere ta take care o' yous..." he said, and stuck a finger through the cage door and wiggled it.

He could tell he'd gotten Aubrey's attention, because shortly after she hopped over, and inched her way closer to peck at his finger, as if to taste it.

"Sorreh Aubrey, Oi didn' ge' a chance ta look ya up much... Sooo I dun' realleh know wha' ya loike... 'cept fer these 'ere mosqui'oes Oi dun' found fer ya..." He said, and removed his finger to open up the door to her cage. He had his hand ready in case she decided to make a great escape or something, but she didn't.

Jude smiled and suddenly felt much older. He was taking care of a lesser being... all by his little lonesome. He took her out and just held her. She was so soft. He had his trusty little measuring tape with him, and just wanted to see how big she was, for his journal. After that, he went over to the little scale and weighed her. So tiny. Taking her back over to her cage, he started feeding her the mosquitoes for a little snack, made sure she had enough water, and closed the door on her again.

"Sorreh Aubreh, Oi go' ta run, 'ave 'omework an' research on ya ta do!! Oi'll be back tomorruh!" he said and then ran off, not sure if the little baby Augurey even understood him or not.

Heidi made her way into the building and saw several students playing with their creatures. When she finally got to Max's cage, she noticed how excited he was. "Hi Max," she said opening the cage. "Have you been a good boy?" She started to walk outside to the pen so Max could run and stretch for a while. He seemed to enjoy the fresh air, as he stood there, nose up in the air, and tail wagging. She was right next to him, while he walked. He finished his business, and Heidi then gave him a treat that she picked up when she entered the building.

"Your such a good boy, Max," she said playing with his ears. She noticed he had a spot on his belly. His fur was a different color there. He was all brown, and had a little spot of blonde on him. "How cute you are," she said. Max lay in her lap, and she just sat there petting him. They sat there for a while and Heidi knew she had to finish her homework. She picked up Max in her arms and began walking back inside. She held him very close, and he did not put up a fuss. It was as if he enjoyed being held that way.

When she finally put him in his cage, he leaned his head to one side, and Heidi all but opened the cage and took him with her. "You be a good boy, and I'll be back later, ok," she told him. If Heidi didn't know better, she could of sworn he nodded back at her. She waved to him and then headed out of the building, back to Gryffindor tower.

Qaz entered the big building and headed straight for her Jarvey's cage.

'Hello, Chaos, how are you today?' she quietly asked of the little furball.

Today she brought her sketchpad in her bag. She needed a nice sketch to put up on her headboard. She was sure that her Tabby, HiJinx, would not be amused, but he was not, much to his chagrin, the center of the universe.

Quietly, she sketched away...sounds of the other babies in the background. After she finished the first small sketch, she decided to have a closer look at her new fella, so she opened the cage door, reached in and every so gently stroked him with one finger to see if he was in a friendly mood.

Chaos let out a little squeak, then looked up at her. 'Well, aren't you the cutest little thing,' Qaz whispered. 'How about I get a closer look at you.' Very carefully, she picked him up...such a tiny thing, even smaller than her Tabby was first time she saw him.

Carefully removing him from his cage, Qaz looked him over.



Pretty much beige all over, with some white on his face. 'You are certainly going to be a handsome devil, aren't you?' she whispered, looking into his golden eyes. 'I hear you're going to turn into quite the little potty mouth, though. Maybe we can do something about that.'

Placing Chaos back into his cage and closing the door for a moment, Qaz reached into her bag and got out a tiny plastic container. Opening it up, she reached in a finger and dipped it in the yoghurt. Opening the cage door again, she reached in and put her finger close to his tiny little mouth. 'Here ya go...a treat from mommy. Lets see if you like it'

Chaos sniffed. Something new here...let's investigate. Smelled pretty good...let's taste. Tastes pretty good. Yummy.

He likes yoghurt and his tiny tongue tickles. It took several minutes for Chaos to like off the miniscule bit of yoghurt. 'Such a good boy.'

Qaz removed her hand and closed the cage door. While Chaos was still alert, she sketched him once more, adding a description of his coloring and size.

'I'm sorry, but I have to go now, but I'll be back soon' she said, receiving a squeak in response. How about that! she thought.

Walking down to the Nursery gave William a good long time to think. He had so far done a few good things and if his marks were any indication he had a knack for learning. Which would make his mother and cousin very happy he smirked. What they didn't know couldn't hurt them he knew and stopped at the door, opening it and breathing in the creature smell. Looking around in silent wonder he walked over to the cages which held the Crups and looked for the one with his name on it. Finding it after moments of searching he stopped and smiled, "Well hello there young one. My name is William and don't worry, you're in great hands." He said bowing to the small creature now in his care, which was just awakening from a sound slumber.

Looking at it carefully he took out his book of magical creatures and looked up the information on the crups. They looked like a Jack Russel dog in appearance with a forked-tail. They were very loyal to Wizards he knew, that would mean training her would be simple, and they ate anything. That was also good to know. "So I guess you need a name eh girl? How about Graziella?" He asked, bending down to look at her more carefully. She seemed to look back at him with an adorable face. "You like that eh?" He asked smiling happily. "Graziella it is then." He announced, reaching in gently to allow her to sniff him.

Putting his bag beside him, he got more comfortable and continued to stare at this adorable bundle of fur. The forked tail wasn't large enough to do any damage but he knew he'd have to keep an eye on it as she grew. This would surely be an experience he knew he could never pass up. It was a good thing he left his mouse and tarantula in their respective cages back the the dorm room, or else he didn't want to think of what would happen. For now, he just watched her as she stood on slightly shaking legs and yawned.

Graziella blinked her eyes, their color not quite there yet and nudged the cage sleepily. He looked up from his musings and grinned, "Hungry eh?" He asked winking at her. "Okay, I'll be right back." He said standing up and looking around for some food. He found a stocked shelf near the door and walked over, grabbing a pair of dragon hide gloves and pulling them on. Next he looked for the food, finding some natural looking vegetables. Grabbing a few stems of lettuce he also picked up a small amount of meat just in case. Nodding to himself he went back to Graziellas' cage and sat back down.

Graziella seemed to sense food was there and perked up a bit, her ears shooting upwards. He chuckled shaking his head and poking a small piece of lettuce through the bars of the cage. He watched as she sniffed it, eyes looking up at him before nibbling it quickly. "Good girl!" He cooed, his eyes sparkling. Poking a piece of meant and scrunching up his face at the sound he watched as she quickly devoured it looking for more. Sniffing the cage she licked his hand, the smell of meat on the gloves. He giggled, looking around to see if anyone herd the slightly girlish giggle before putting in the rest.

After she had her fill she curled up again, her forked tail curling around her body. Eyes slowly dropping she looked once more at William before drifting off into a soft slumber. Thinking now would be the perfect time to leve her alone so she could sleep he carefully took off the gloves and gently put his hand in her cage, stroking her fur gently. "I'll come back real soon okay?" He whispered, bending closer to the cage, his fingers feeling the softness of her fur. With a small sigh he stood, putting his bag over his shoulder. Walking over to the shelf he put the gloves back and walked out, heading to the common room to finish more homework.

Jesse walked into the shelter. He knew what he was looking for, a cage with a young Streeler in it, but the problem became trying to find it. He walked over to a few cages that held large snail-like creatures, and searched for his name on one of the tags.

Well, this must be the one, he thought to himself, getting down onto his knees and peering within, hoping to find a young happy Streeler waiting to meet him. Instead he was met by a hiss-like noise and a poke in the eye.

He clutched his eye painfully, but quickly took his hand away. He hadn't even seen his creature and yet and it was already attacking him. Well, his mum had always said he had a way with animals, but she had been talking about muggle animals, not crazy bad-tempered Streelers.

Jess peered once again into the cage not going so close this time in fear of another eye poking. Toph had retreated to the back of the cage and was staring at him with sceptical eyes. "Jesse," he said, introducing himself. She rolled her eyes, I know that, you plonker! Jesse raised his eyebrow as she let out a small slurping noise, not understanding what she had just said in Streeler language. "Nice to meet you too," he said, returning to his full height. He pulled a chip from his pocket, and quickly thread it through the bars. Toph immediately gobbled it down, barely chewing before swallowing. Jess grinned, and sat down beside the cage. "At least you like chips," he said with a wink. Toph rolled her eyes again, and huffed off to the back of the cage.
