| | |  Muggle Studies Lesson 2 - Halloween
As you enter the Muggle Studies classroom, you notice that everything is decorated in a rather festive way. The walls are decorated with such items as spider webs and spiders, vampires, monsters, bats, skeletons, tombstones and other scary items. The desk itself is the centerpiece , with a large pumpkin sitting in the middle of it. The pumpkin has been carved out so that it reveals a scary face, and there is a candle inside it which provides illumination, the light flickering on and off in a rather mysterious way. On the floor beside the desk you notice lots of large grocery size paper bags, but the professor shies you away from these, pushing them aside as if they are a secret. There is also a small broomstick, a rather primitive looking black witches' hat (not the modern sort, but the somewhat old fashioned muggle concept of what a witches' hat should look like), and a picture magazine showing children and adults clad in lots of interesting and colorful costumes. There is also a stack of black and orange colored textbooks towards the front which Professor Dumont invites you to take one of - USA WEEKEND Magazine.

2. Look at the pumpkin designs in the textbook listed below - which one do you like best? Scary pumpkin stencil for Halloween: Download The Joker and more | USA WEEKEND Magazine (5 points)
3. Now, here is where that candy comes in. What was your favorite candy from the bag? What did you like best about it? (5 points)
4. What tradition do you like the best about Halloween - parties, trick or treating or the costumes? Why is that? (5 points)
20 points possible for this lesson.
All homework is to be PMed to me, Slytherin Fox, by midnght EST on Halloween, October 31 (the witching hour!)

Hm, Meredith didn't like the lesson was already nearly over. Last time it went very quickly as well. She examined one of the fake spiders on the wall. It looked like something her Muggle friend had.
She had to write her sister a letter for Halloween! Something like..Happy Halloween! Trick or treat? and then end it with something like, ~Meredith, a real witch. That would be funny!

Rachel copied down the homework and packed her stuff. She walked down to the desk and took herself a bag of muggle candy. Merlin, I've missed theses! Grinning, she put it in her bag, saving it for later. "Goodbye professor! And thanks for the wonderful lesson," she called happily as she left the classroom in a festive mood.

She had wanted to answer,but everyone else had been too quick and she didn't want it to appear as if she was copying them.
Walking up to the front of the class to get her bag of sweets,Sarah smiled at the professor.
