"I'm just saying you should have asked me before rooting around in my desk. But now here we are and I've moved my desk. Carry on," she winked at Astrid.

Cale shook his head. "No, you don't look centuries old at all Headmistress! It's like Anna said...we were trying to find the clues. To be honest we really didn't look through your belongings...we were concerned about what might be hidden under the desk," he explained, pointing at the large wooden desk as it now rested against the wall.

He started to open his mouth and speak again when the Headmistress said that they should carry on. His mouth hung open in shock as she proceeded to wink at Astrid before a grin broke out on his face. Bwaha! Take THAT Trelawney.

"Of course! And if the situation should ever arise again we'll be sure to ask your permission next time!" Cale said happily as he glanced at the desk once more.

That wink was all Astrid needed. "Thank you, Ma'am!" she said, excitedly and full of relief. Then she made a beeline for the floor to resume her search!

"Oh, erm...okay," Anna said, feeling a little uneasy. She didn't budge when the Headmistress said to carry on, though. Right now, with an audience, she felt a little self-conscious about digging around for clues. Anna looked around to Cale and Astrid, waiting to see what they would do.

As her hand brushed a particular section of floor which had been beneath the clawed foot of the now moved desk pulsed with heat.

"Did it just get hot in here?" She said waving her hand to give herself air. "Professor?"

"I'm the mother of three small children," she shrugged. "I get all sorts of hot flashes, and they no longer phase me."

When she felt the floor pulse with heat, Astrid rubbed her hand over the spot. She lifted up the rug and started pushing on the floorboards, trying to find one that was loose. "There's something here guys."

"See," Anna said, looking back over at the intern. "That's what's been going on for the past half hour or so in here. The temperature keeps changing on us. We move around the room, and it changes with our movements. It was actually very freaky if you ask me. It's that...that...that clue! It just has to be!"

The floorboard was, in fact, loose and flipped over as she messed about with it, revealing a scrap of worn parchment stuck to the underside of the board.

Amazed by what had just happened, Astrid removed the scrap of parchment from the floorboard, careful not to rip it. She looked it over with wide eyes, anxious to show Anna and Cale.

"Miss Deschain, I believe that belongs to the headmistress." She said glaring at the girl and the scrap of parchment she had.
