Kayla shook her head slightly. "Okay no more I don't want to hear anymore. I forgave her for her moment of insanity and now I just want to forget about it." There were just some details she didn't want to know. She raised an eyebrow as he was on the verge of saying something other than what came out of his mouth, she let it slide, he would say it one day.

She gave him a stern look as he smiled at her. "That's not always going to get you ot of trouble Toussaint" she said pointing towards the smile. And that was the problem, Kayla never thought it would be her that would be hurt, in her mind it would always be the other person...cocky much! "How can I get hur twith you around?"

"Yeah well she might be coming to stay with me. I'm willing to have her stay at my place..."Kayla placed her hands on her hips..."but she's not to go anywhere near you" she finished in barely a whisper.


Kayla was about to say some more when she felt someone brush past her and she looked up and her body tensed immediately. Before she could even do anything Mari had already walked past. Kayla clenched her fist and took a deep breath and avoided looking at Nicholai.

"Lizzie," Kairi said, suddenly appearing beside her friend. She'd spotted an empty compartment further down the train, and she was eager to get it before someone else did. "C'mon," she said with a grin, taking Lizzie by the hand and dragging her towards it. She opened the door and plonked herself into the empty seat. Blimey, this term had passed quickly, and she would be leaving soon, that was the worst part.

Usagi made her way to an empty compartment. Sitting down with Chandyy the white kitten on her laps immediately, she took a deep sigh and fixed her gaze out of the window. She tried hard to avoid her friends, as she'll probably break into tears if she sees them, or talk with them. I need to keep my image. She promised herself. Even if they crash-landed into her compartment.

In her idle wandering, Elizabeth kept an eye on the little window set into the door of the compartment, and eventually decided to go over to the door. Sliding it open, she saw Mari walking down the corridor, and then push past Nicholai, who was standing in the hallway talking to a girl. Her eyebrows knitted slightly as she saw Mari's reaction to the two of them, but the petite blonde stayed in the doorway, not wanting to get involved in whatever just went on. Plus, she didn't trust Bella to stay curled up on the set if she walked out and left the door open.

Via made her way to the back at the compartment as usual. She always stays at the back. The train was almost full so she needed to find an empty compartment for her own. Just then she spotted USagi alone at a compartment. SHe knocked at the door and entered.

"Usa!" Via greeted happily. "How have you been?" She plopped into a seat next to her friend.

"It would be easier if you were angry about it." Nicholai noted, "Not that it would lessen my guilt at all." he smiled and shrugged, wondering if he might be able to do something to make things less awkward with Camira. And Mari. He planned on fixing things with Anna first though.

"It tends to get me in trouble more than anything else." Nicholai observed wryly, catching her finger and bringing it to his lips, "Assuming I'm not the one to hurt you, of course." he kissed her finger and let her go as she spoke of Camira.

"I'm worried about her." Nicholai admitted, "only how am I supposed to comfort her without making things worse? She isn't at all like Evolette or Nikki- Camira seems more... Slytherin than they are." he paused and shrugged one shoulder- he meant damaged but Slytherin worked too. He paused and watched her place her hands on her hips and speak in a whisper. "And what precisely, do you think might happen if she comes near me?"

Nicholai looked up and that pesky guilt took a hold of his stomach as he met Mari's eyes with an outwardly calm expression. A slight flicker of concern gave him away and then suddenly she was looking away and pushing past them. He watched her walk into a compartment and briefly contemplated going after her.

Nico turned slightly toward Kayla and noted the clenched fist and obvious tension in her. There was no way he could go after Mari without risking Kayla going off the deep end. He sighed and stepped closer to her so that there were mere millimetres seperating them. Gently he tipped her chin up with his hand and regarded her with the guilt apparent in his eyes. He had no words for her at that moment and so he simply bent his head toward hers and caught her lips in a searing and yet deceptively brief kiss. "It's always been you." he murmured against her cheek before taking a step back and watching her carefully.

Mari kept her gaze trained ahead, trying to ignore the fact that Nico and Kayla were just behind her. She saw Elizabeth and she knew instantly from her friend's expression that the other girl knew something was going on. Mari kept walking, not wanting to look back, but it was like she had to. Eventually she gave in and she turned, just to see it one more time, as if that would just cement the facts for her.
Mari was quite sorry she decided to look back at all. Again, time seemed to drag on quite unnecessarily longer than usual as she saw the way Nico kissed Kayla, the way he just...was with her. It seemed as if she were watching the moment in slow motion, each second of it quite painful for her to watch. The same foolishness and inadequacy washed over her again, and she quickly turned back around again as she felt the first tears fall down her face. She came to Elizabeth, her gaze cast downwards and she wiped quickly at her face. " Could you close the door, please?" She whispered as she rushed into the compartment and sat close to the window.

"I'm sick of being angry Nico" Kayla replied quietly. "It's been that way all year and I don't want to feel that way anymore. "I'm not trying to make things harder for you, I'm just trying to get on with my life."

She smiled as he took her fingers and kissed them, why couldn't she stay angry at him? "Yeah well you wouldn't want to be doing that again in a hurry" there was only so much more hurt that she could take.

"Don't worry about Camira, I will look after her" Kayla responded a little more roughly than she had intended. She looked Nico squarely in the eye. "It means I don't trust her to be close to you. I know you wouldn't do anything but 'm not sure about Camira. She's..."Kayla trailed off..."well it's just best if I look after her."

Kayla was busy looking at the floor but she knew that Nico was watching Mari as she walked passed and she could bet her life that he wanted to go after her right now. Her fist was clenched so tightly that her nails were cutting into her flesh.

She felt him move towards her and she took in a shaky breath as he tipped her chin up. Before she could even clear her head, Nico was moving forward and he kissed her. Kayla stood paralysed as he moved away from her and she opened her mouth to speak but the words wouldn't come out. It had been so long since he had kissed her like that and it made her heart race at an alarming speed.

Kayla saw Mari out of the corner of her eye and she knew that Nico had kissed her as a distraction but at this point she didn't much care. "I know that now."

"I'm still angry." Nicholai admitted, "not at you though." He nodded in understanding and added a quiet correction, "our life." Nico shook his head slowly, not taking his eyes off her. "I'll try not to hurt you; it only end up hurting myself when I do."

Nicholai shook his head and returned Kayla's gaze calmly., "Fine, Kayla; but I won't turn my back on her. I've already lost one friend this term because of my behaviour and I don't particularly want to lose another."

Nicholai flicked his eyes up and saw Mari watching and then watched her turn away, clearly upset, and disappear inside the compartment. He returned his gaze to Kayla. "Are you sure you know? Or are you in need of a few more reminders?" he smiled and tried to ignore the guilt that Mari brought up in him; filling his mind with thoughts of Kayla instead.

He stepped forward again and slowly brought his hands up to her shoulders, tracing circles along her arms with his fingertips along the way. "It's only you." he leaned forward and caught her lips with his again before pressing his cheek against hers and closing his eyes as he held her close. "completely you." Nicholai entwined his fingers together around her back and whispered in her ear, "forever you, mon coeur."

Elizabeth's eyes moved past Mari as her friend turned, to see Nicholai kiss the other girl, and then she was surprised by Mari suddenly reaching her and rushing past, into the compartment. Bella raised her head inquisitively as Elizabeth slid the door closed again. "What was that?," she asked quietly, a look of concern crossing her face before she moved across the compartment to sit next to Mari. "Are you okay? I mean, I think I saw most of that, so I'd guess you aren't. But since no one's told me what's going on, I can't be sure."

"Hi Via. I'm just fine, thanks." Yeah, right. As if being transfered to another school is classified "fine". Looking at her friend, Usagi decided against not telling Via the truth...or maintaining her image. A sudden tsunami of tears reached her eyes without further ado. "I don't want to be transfered to a new school! I just wanted to stay with you guys!" The girl wailed. "My aunt and my parents just reached a decision. Which involves me going to a newfound school back in Hanoi. That's insane."

ooc: Usagi's sudden tantrum is because of my decision to RP as a new charrie next term.

Mari closed her eyes for a moment, letting herself cry silently until Elizabeth sat next to her. " That was Nico, kissing Kayla. And you are right, I'm definitely not alright with it." She said, her voice hitching a bit as she spoke.

" I was...well, I don't know what it was but I had something with Nico. It got...complicated. " She said, and she kept talking, all the while avoiding Elizabeth's gaze. " I found a poem he wrote for her, thinking it was about me and that's when he told me he never really stopped wanting to be with Kayla." She said quickly, her crying now tapering off into little hitching gasps. " I just feel like a fool, that's all. " She said, still refusing to admit that she had thought she might be in love with him. Now she wasn't sure, but from what she felt she was afraid she might still be.

Kayla nodded and smiled brightly at him. "Yes our life" she repeated in a whisper. "I know you won't Nico, I trust you."

"I'm not asking you to turn your back on her Nicholai, just take a step back that's all" Kayla reached up and gently placed her hand on his cheek. "She needs time to get over what happened between you two and I've known Camira for four years now...I can and I will help her. That's what friends do for each other."

Kayla watched Nico as he looked back at Mari and she didn't miss the guilt in his eyes. She sighed softly, he was obviously going to feel like this for a while and although she wanted Mari out of their lives, it was obviously not going to happen anytime soon. Kayla smiled at him and tried to rid herself of her insecurities. "Oh I think I definitely need a few more reminders" she teased and giving him a wink.

Her breath caught in her throat as he stepped toward her again and his hands on her shoulders sent shivers up her spine. Kayla couldn't believe that Nico was kissing her again, he had never showed her this much affection in public before. She was slightly breathless as he pulled away and she felt a lump form in her throat at his words. "Nicholai" she breathed, "please don't make me cry in front of everyone" Kayla stood on tip toe and pressed her lips to his ear. "I love you...always and forever."

Nicholai offered a small smile in acknowledgement of Kayla's words about Camira and wondered if Elizabeth would be able to help Mari the way that Kayla intended to help Camira. He sighed again; wishing things were less complicated but resigning himself to the fact that things never seemed to be simple with him.

Between how he had hurt Camira and Mari, and with the whole amortentia disaster with Anna; Nicholai was fairly suprised that Kayla hadn't screamed at him or hexed him or something. But then she only knew a little about what happened with Camira; almost nothing about Mari; and he wasn't sure she knew about the love potion incident at all. So the screaming and hexing might still come eventually.

He regarded Kayla for a moment and sighed heavily, "No, I wouldn't want to make anyone else cry." He smiled as she whispered in his ear and pulled away from her; taking her hand in his. "Shall we find somewhere to sit?" he cocked his head at her. He'd seen Penny and Mads in a compartment and Whitney, Lima, Kyler and Amanda in one. He turned and eyed the compartment that Mari and Elizabeth were in and wondered briefly if Asteria was there too. He decided it wouldn't be worth the risk and tugged Kayla gently as he took a step in the opposite direction, "Shall we find ourselves an empty compartment? Or say goodbye to friends?" He started to head toward the front of the train to see who was floating about up there.

The time he had spent at the end of term feast was a quick one. Miles knew it would be quick, it always was. But, it still dawned on him that he was even closer to graduation, something he was still not looking forward to. He didn't complain about it though, Parker's didn't do that. Yeah right.

It was also nice to know that he was going home to his family. Well, just Sylvia and Vince, and he was more interested in his little sister than his father. He bet Vince would be late to pick him up from the station, but it was ok, he would just go home by floo. For now, he wuld sit at the back of the train and think of all the positive things.

Miles stumbed slightly as the train chugged alon the tracks and knocked a few people around. He found an empty compartment, which always seemed to be the case, and sat down.

Vanessa had always like the train journeys, she didn't know why but she thought they were peaceful. Well they were when it wasn't noisy. And she really only wanted to spend this journey with one person, who she was currently looking for. Walking up the back of the train, she glanced in compartments, looking for Miles.

She smiled as she found him, sitting on his own in a compartment. He looked kind of lonely. She would change that. "Hi Miles," She spoke as she walked into the compartment, letting the door slide shut behind her. "Ready to go home?" She asked, as she sat down next to him. She knew that she was. Although her sisters would probably be right pests.

Watching his face, Kayla knew that there was a lot going on with him and she wondered if he was ever going to tell her what was wrong. She really wanted things to work out with Nicholai but they needed to be open with each other and not keep secrets. But she was willing to be patient and wait until he was ready to tell her.

"Might be a good idea" she answered. "Otherwise we're going to get trampled by the masses" she joked. Kayla let herself be led by Nicholai and she thought about his question. "How about we find ourselves a compartment, I have a feeling we're not going to be alone for long anway."

Miles looked up at the door and smiled when the petite Hufflepuff stepped inside, if he wanted any company at all, he would always choose her, regardless of who's company was up for grabs. He loved her, and her company just as much. "Hey love." He said, as he shuffled over to give her room next to him. Miles snaked his arm around her shoulders, letting his hand rest on her far shoulder.

"Kind of, yeah." He sighed, not really sure as how to answer it. He was always ready, but he'd rather just bring Sylvia to Hogwarts, but she would arrive when he leaves, which was a right bummer. "I'll miss here though." Miles shrugged the thought away, summer would go fast. It always did. "And what about you?" He asked, as he moved a stray hair away from her face.

Via smiled at her friend. Everytime during the train ride she was always with USa. Just then Usa began to cry and VIa was shocked to hear about her plan to transfer. "OH!" Via said sadly. "Why do they have to? I will miss you USa." Via gave her friend a hug. It's been a long while she hadn't done this. When they were in their first year she usually hugs them all but then a sign of growing up, change.

Where was the Core Four? They needed a reunion before it was time to go home! Hugo pranced down the train, eyes peeled for any signs of Miles, Terry or Evolette. Hmm. Where on earth were they? Terry was no doubt snafflnig something at the food trolley, Evolette was probably fussing over a missing comb in the luggage cart and Miles...well he was probably with her. As if on cue, he peeked into a compartment and there they were. Parker and Midget Girl. Oh joy. He pressed his nose up againt the glass, staring at the two of them, before stumbling backwards.

They hadn't seen him hopefully. That would be awkward. Sighing, Hugo kept on walking. He wasn't ready to face his best friend yet, especially with his bird attached to him. Ick.

Chalice loooked around to find an empty car. Score! There was just one left and she took it. Chalice sat down after putting her luggage in the rack and writing her mom a letter which she sent Tourmaline out to deliver.

As if it wasn't hard enough to be forced to go to Hogwarts, Mina was shocked to find it was even harder to leave it after the first year there. It surprised her; she'd been set against moving from her home to her uncle's to attend, but now she didn't want to leave what she considered her second home.

The young girl brushed her dark hair from her eyes as she wandered up the train, peeking quickly into the occassional compartment until she came across an empty one, Michi's cat carrier swinging against her legs the entire time. Of course, it was empty as the cat had, once again, taken residence in Mina's pocket.

Ugh. She collapsed onto one of the seats, dropping the basket in another one, and took a deep breath. Some company from someone she'd met wouldn't hurt, she reasoned, but she did not want to see her "family" right now. If they found her, she'd go mad.

Thoughts were drilling through Jacks head,and his ears,well for some reason they were ringing.What was wrong with him!! He seemed pretty much out of it,there was something seriously wrong.Maybe he was just over tired.He felt tired.He was so out of it he hadn't heard the person enter the compartment,he only realised when he felt a small hand resting on his thigh.He jumped a little.He looked up from his hands,eyes a little blurry,but he could see who it was."Ella!"he said,a grin forming on his charming face.He'd been thinking about her."Ive been looking for you..but I kinda gave up.."he laughed a little.He kissed her forehead gentley."Ive missed you.."

Elan sadly trudges down the hallway looking for a place to sit and mope. He's a little sad and he doesn't really want to talk to any but one person and he wasn't sure she was returning to Hogwarts. He reached inside his robe and pulled out the folded picture and looked at Aly in Hogsmeade and hoped he would see her.

He leaned against the seat he had found and went to sleep.

Chalice saw someone just kind of looking really depressed. "Hi, what is wrong?" Chalice asked the boy.
