Back of the Train Last out of the station and last back home. Take a seat before the train starts to move. |
An empty compartment? It pays to get up early. While everyone else was hugging and saying their goodbyes, Tobi had gone straight to the train. He'd even skipped breakfast. Rare for him, but he figured he would just pig out on sweets during the train ride. He staked out the compartment and waited. Surely the rest of his friends - the loose group that had sort of gravitated together over the years, would join him soon. |
"Honk!" "Move it! Get along - don't hey! Don't crowd the doors! Are you even listening!" "Honk honk hooonkkk!" There was a crash, a bang, and a thud soon followed by Cale sticking his head in the door. "Oh good," he said spotting Tobi. "You claimed the good compartment. Hold Robin. I'll be back." He shoved his plant into Tobi's hands and then hurried out of the compartment. |
Hah, kyler did well to wait outside for the past few hours, seeing as he was one of the first people on the train, which meant.. Empty conpartments! Heck yes. He was so hoping for one to himself, which is exactly what he got, in the very veeeeery back. Haha. snicker. Kyler was never good with saying goodbyes, reason he went straight for the train. Annd, most of his friends would be on soon, right? Most likely. And there was A plus side to having A bash at his house. It meant thee was no need for goodbyes. And at least he had A little time to put his head on right, before the kids started pouring in. Another plus. But the spotted brown bat was not helping much as it fluttered over his head with excitement. 'Course she was getting tired of this place. too. Wanting to go home and bug the hell out of Jade; Kyler knew this by heart. But nooo, around cookie went. And around, and around, and around, and around.. "GETCHURFURRYBUTDOWN'ERE,NOW." Naah, the bat would never isten to him, would she? He sighed dramaticly, and gave into A terrible 'face-meet-window' moment. |
This is not happening. It's not happening. NOT. -wheeze- happening! Tobi didn't get a chance to protest. Cale never gives people time to protest. Never gives them time to say things like "I'm not the crazy honking plantlife type, thanks anyway, you keep the freakish thing." Or "ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND? I would sooner jump naked into a pile of stinky but inanimate dung then hold a PLANT that I know is looking at me with eyes I just can't identify!" Or, "GET THAT BLOODY THING AWAY FROM ME FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS MAGICAL!!" He held carefully in his hands at arms reach from his face, which was arranged in a look of sheer panic. HONK! The the so-called daffodil screamed - yes screamed - at him. It seemed "Robin" felt the same way. |
She searched the whole back of the train till she found an empty compartment a few from the last. All of the other compartments were filled with other students and their friends. Whitney hoped one of hers would find her all the way in the back. She open the sliding door, walked in, and closed it. As she sat down she took out a book and read till someone she knew sat with her. Whitney hoped the train took it's time getting back because she knew she would miss all of her friends too much. "And now we wait." she said when she was finally settled, and began to read. |
Sienna sighed, pushing each limb forward heavily. She didn't want to go home, to face the news, to pack each belonging, to move to the city. She wanted to stay HOME. Her real home. The one where there was a huge oak tree out front, the one where everyone knew each other. Not to the city, where her sister was moving to, the place her mother was forcing her to go to so she could be more 'social' or whatever. She was going to hate the city, she knew it - she stumbled past a tall boy (Kyler? Whatever. She was too depressed to care.) and mindlessly aimed for an empty compartment, finding one at the very end of the corridor. Plunking herself down, she sighed. Life sucks, then you die. Yeah, that sounded like the summary of her life. |
Her pudgy legs, albeit less pudgy than last term, carried her down the corridors towards the end of the train. It wasn't that Daphne Hopton didn't enjoy the company of others it was j--Oh, who was she kidding? Common students bothered her! She thought, waving a hand irately as if swatting an invisible fly, legs stopping her body in front a compartment. Especially the dirty kind. This term she hoped she could avoid that boy Garret and his friend Cel, or at least stop them from trying to murder her like last time. Holding the glass terrarium away from herself, Daphne allowed her hazel eyes to fall on the tree frog with scorn. She only had the bloody thing because of Miss Jillian, who couldn't take care of it during the summer. As soon as she arrived at Hogwarts it was her responsibility! She wanted nothing else to do with the carnivorous thing. Feeding the amphibian crickets had given her nightmares for days. Peeking inside a seemingly empty compartment, Daphne blinked her golden lashes at the panicked looking young man holding a--what was that? Curiously, she took a step forward into the compartment, pale brows knitting together in confusion, shoulders bouncing every time that--plant, for that what it seemed to be, honked. "Uh," hesitated the blond girl, her foot squishing some non-existent dirt underneath her shiny brown shoe. You look three seconds way from a cardiac arrest. "Excuse me...." That would do for now. |
Elizabeth made her way to the back of the train, glancing into compartments as she kept one eye on her wandering cat. She didn't want a replay of the train ride to school, when Bella had ran away from her and into a full compartment. About three-quarters of the way to the very back, she found an empty compartment and slipped inside, holding the door so the cat could enter, then shutting it again as Bella jumped up and curled up on one of the seats. Dropping her bag near the cat, Elizabeth idly wandered in the little compartment for a few minutes, wondering if Asteira or Mari were going to show up. She would even take Nico, Ludo or Seth. Anyone to talk to that would keep her from a long. boring ride back to London. |
Jordan walked to the back of the train. SHe had always prefered the back to the front. She looked around to see if she saw anyone that she knew but she didn't as usual. That was one thing that she had regretted about being at Hogwarts. She had many good friends but she had always been on the somewhat shy side. She decided to settle for an empty compartment. Of course if anyone wanted to share it with her they were welcome but for now she would sit in an epmty one. She sat down and decided to pull out her sketch pad. She hadn't looked in it for quite some time. She turned each page smiling at all of the ones she had done from her earlier years at Hogwarts. |

Tobi heard a small voice coming from the door, it wasn't Cale's that was for sure. Recognising that saved him from screaming at the younger girl with a mix of sheer terror and what was growing rage. Instead he went for pleading. He wasn't proud. "Hi," he moaned. Hoooonk! Could daffodils smell fear or something? Another reason not to like them. "My friend left me here with his... pet. I don't like plants - " Honk!! Robin was indignant, as if to point out she wasn't pleased with the arrangement either. "Atleast ones that don't meet my criteria of what a plant should be, like ones that talk... or whatever she does." Tobi made his best puppy face for the little blond girl. He tried to ignore the terrarium she carried with her - thinking about it would force him to consider what pets she might keep. He shuddered involuntarily. Why ever did keeping a pet rock go out of style? |

She strode into the compartment without even asking him if he wanted her company, and headed over to the seat across from him. Shoving her luggage in the compartment overhead, she muttered, "Finally I am alone with you Kyler." She took her seat and started wiggling her eyebrows at him, snorting. Then his bat had to get lose somehow and start fluttering around her head and shrieking in her ears. When she landed on her head and seemed to be trying to make a nest out of it she said, "What is it with you and these animals, Kye!" She did not like being a bed for a bat. I just hope that she doesn't try to eat my hair. |
Cale couldn't have been happier that this term was over. He had managed to somehow scrape by in Herbology, and got rather high marks on all his finals but still, this term hadn't been a very smooth one. Not at all. Especially with Nico and Trel trying to jump in and destroy his life at every change they got. And he was totally not having a drama queen moment and exaggerating when he thought they. They really did have it out for him. He passed a compartment and waved at Daphne, who appeared to have stumbled upon his fellow prefect, Cale Thorton. He gave a wave to the Ravie boy as he passed as well and finally found an empty compartment to save for him and Anna. He opened the door and sighed contently, tossing his sweater on the seat by the window and stretching out in the empty compartment. He needed 3 months of warm weather and relaxation, which would most likely be VERY difficult to find with Ezra and Lucy lurking about the house. |

Daphne wrinkled her nose at the plant, unwilling to touch it just yet, especially since she was busy keeping the terrarium away from her body. Didn't this boy had someone to aid him in his plight? Like...a butler? No one had butler at Hogwarts it seemed. Stepping further into the compartment, Miss Hopton delicately placed the terrarium on the empty seat across from the plant-phobe boy. "Friends do seem to do that a lot," commented the blond shaking her wavy hair away from her face as she straightened up, slipping small hands into her pockets in search of unknown items. "Leave their pets with others that is," continued Daphne pulling out, finally, two handkerchiefs. "Nameless there is a good example," concluded the third year Gryffindor girl with a nod towards the blue-green tree frog. One handkerchief in each hand, Daphne reached out for the honking hybrid, cringing slightly as she took it from the boy's grasp. Stepping away from him, she held in front and away from her. "However, this one...specimen..." Flinched Daphne as the plant gave a loud honk, causing her ears to ring. What would be a good word to describe it? Over the top? Extravagant? No. No. That wouldn't do. "Is...unforgivable," finished the young girl in a dangerous hiss. Who in the name of Tabitha the Pimply created such a horrendous thing?! It was neither useful nor aesthetically pleasing. It served no purpose therefore--it had to be immediately discarded of. |

Cale came stumbling back down the hallway carrying a nice-sized aquarium in his arms. The aquarium was full of water and small floating plant-like things which where indistinguishable as he walked because they were too busy sloshing around. "Excuse me! Man with a plant coming throoouuuugghhh....." People were parting like molasseses in January. "Common people! This is heavy!" |
"Ah that's Belkin, he's my friendly Snowy Owl." Amanda said, taking Belkin out of his cage to show him to Whitney. "You can pet him, he won't bite you" She said, petting her owl softly. "Ah well, first term I sat by myself pretty much" Amanda said then shrugged, opening her bag with her free hand, taking out a Chocolate Frog. |

"Oh im terribly sorry!" she said. "I hope im not inturrupting anything. I don't believe we've met." she said squinting at the girl with her head sideways and her lips pursed. she straighted up and smiled. "I'm Xehanna, but you can call me Xeh." she said holding out her hand. |

Tobi could breathe again as the brave little girl took away the daffodil. She held it with hankerchiefs - clever. It honked as she reduced it to a specimen. Tobi figured Cale wouldn't like to hear that either- it was practically his soulmate. The girl looked at Robin like it was rubbish to be binned. A point they could agree on, but he didn't think it would go over well with his friend. "I don't care much for it either," he agreed. "But the thing is Cale's pride and joy. He goes everywhere with it unless it's to class or his hands are to full to carry the thing." He carefully reapproached the honking excuse for plantlife, and the girl carrying it. She was making an unsettling start for the compartment door. "So maybe I should place it on a compartment seat or something... until Cale gets back." |
Twinny and Twinny Numero Dos Whitney absolutely loved any animal that existed. "Hi Belkin!" she pretty much exclaimed. Accepting the offer, she gently petted the pretty owl. "Oh I can't wait till I get one too. I just need to think of a name." Then she heard Amanda say that she sat alone too. "I guess that's just how most first years start out huh?" When she was done petting the owl she saw her Twinny come in. "Oh my God. It's you!!!!" Whitney yelled throwing her book down and getting up to give Xeh a huge hug. When she sat back down she had a humongous back of Skittles thrown at her. 'SKITTLES!' "Do you know how much I love you?" she said cracking up. "I'm not reading anymore. Well, seeing as summer hasn't exactly come yet it's been okay." Whitney said sarcastically. "I'm hoping all goes well. I'm not too sure how my mother's doing though. What with my father not being there and all." She was actually a little scared to be going back home. "Nothing really. Just a book given to me a few years ago. How do you think your summer is going to be?" she asked curiously. Quote:
