Ocean's Volkswagen Hippy Van-Hut

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l1...NHUT-1copy.png

You walk out of the castle and around the grounds, grass crunching underneath your feet. There’s a distinct sweet smell in the air. When you look up you immediately know it’s coming from that odd-looking van-hut hybrid in the distance. Surrounding the Van-Hut are what seem several surfing long-boards embedded into the grass, all intricately decorated with bright colors of different swiveling shapes. From the top of the van there is, surprisingly enough, a chimney. The baby blue color shines ominously, even on a cloudy day and from the windows hang small herbal gardens. Surrounding the van are several crates and barrels, their contents unknown. Behind the van is a grey dome of a plastic like substance. As you get closer you see a sign stuck on the ground that says: “KEEP OUT”; quite a contrast from the warm welcome greeting on the wooden door magically installed into the van.

You approach the door and underneath the welcome sign there is a note:

Orchid saw a brightly colored van and ran over. She read the sign and knocked once.

Jack walked up he could hear the grass crunchimg under his feet.He went up to the door and nocked, but only once.

Juniper knocked twice on the door of the brightly colored van-hut. She had read the sign with a grin and decided that her business was casual. She wanted to make a good impression on the groundskeeper, after all, especially since she hoped to spend the majority of her time outside, roaming the grounds. That was what she tended to do.

Staring around as she waited, Juniper gleefully noticed plants hanging from the windows of the van. Although the surf boards and wild colors were a bit much for her taste, she could not help but like the atmosphere around the groundskeeper’s hut. It was a friendly place, in her opinion.

Henrick saw the van and decided it was a bit...out of place. He approached the other students there, and laughed "One from each house, eh?" He stood with the other three, awaiting to know the purpose of this van.

Ama 02-11-2008 03:45 PM

The feast had been stressful enough and he had nearly ran to the safe haven that Luna (now more than just his van) provided for him. After taking a shower he had dropped himself in the massive bean bag when he began to hear knocking. A long pause followed each one and he could hear some mumbling outside.

It had begun.

Groaning, he pushed himself off, wondering where his ruddy magical teapot had gotten too. "Oi! Sammy! Saaammy! Get some tea ready!" He called out as he reached for the door and pulled it open. "Alright, kids. Spit it out."

There was a student for each house standing before him and again he couldn't help but wonder if this was all part of a ritual.

"Are you here to bring me muffins?"

AYOCutie 02-11-2008 07:00 PM

What is it?! The shiny colors of baby blue and bright pink Confused him. Who would have somthing so bright stand out beside somthing so. . . Green? This was wierd, Kyler had never seen somthing so interesting in his life! He had to know the meaning of it.

Taking the steps closer to the odd thing, It still made no sense. What would A Volkswagon be parked on the grounds?! Are you crazy?! Some kid could like. . . Brake into it and drive off! What in the world would it be here? Was it like, Magical and fly off like that Huge tree thats alive and chops peoples heads off?! OH NO! Not another Attacking, Animal-like thing!

Oh, wait, no! Someone lived in it. Wait, Who would live in A pink van, on the grounds, in hogwarts? Pshhh, Now Kyler had to meet this hippy dude. What there were kids there already? NO! He wanted this dudes attention all on himself! This was not fair. how could he ask why he was here in A van? How could he ask why it was pink and blue? How could he ask how he got the chimney on it and it not falling in? How could he ask why the colors of the surfboards were Tye-Dye and why were they stuck in the ground? These were important questions and he needed answers, now! No, This was his turn.

"Hola, Dude," Kyler gave A smirk, shuffling his feet against the crunching grass, and his hands in his pockets. "Can I ask you A question?" He took his eyes from the tall dude, to the Van behind him. "Why's it blue. ." He took another glance. "With pink polka-dots?" Kyler raised one brow with curiousity.

Ama 02-11-2008 07:15 PM

He looked away from the initial group of students to the new arrival. He had an air of self-importance. He clearly thought he was the coolest thing around since slice bread was invented.

"Because it is," answered Ocean honestly. "Will that be all?" He didn't know why students would come out of their way to ask him such an obvious question.

Why is the grass green? Why is the sky blue? Why does the wind blow? Why is homework so troublesome? The answer was obvious.

AYOCutie 02-11-2008 07:29 PM

Kyler stared at the dude blankly. Why did he have to answer so rudely? C'mon, No one see's A Pink and Blue van everyday. "ahh, I see," His smirk still playing against his lips. "No, I have many more questions. Why, Im not bothering you am I?" Of course he was, but he was curious to this new.. sight. He could be here all day asking questions if He had the time, and if the dude could hold his anger in long enough before taking A frying pan to his head.

OH! Kyler knew why he was here now. "Your the new, uh.." He snapped his fingers, What were they called again? "Ground stomper? No, Holder, Wait, Wait. GroundsKeeper! There we go. Are you him?" 'Now dont get all bossy with me, sir. Im here from Aussie and I have no clue what this school is all about.' Kyler was waiting for it. he could see that frying pan coming towards his head, And...-

"Can I ask you another question?" He eyed the mans movements. Careful now, buddy. Dont get to pushy with this dude. "How did you get that chimney attached to the van?"

Ama 02-11-2008 07:42 PM

Ocean stood within the threshold of his door, gripping the frames tightly. He glanced heavenward briefly, wondering what he had done that entitled him to such a terrible punish--oh, right. He knew what he had done now. Grinning sheepishly, his left brow rose to what seemed would be it's common position for the rest of his time at Hogwarts.

His mind reeled with all the questions and he peered at the other student's wondering if they were as confused as he was. Returning his gray gaze back at his torturer he snorted.

"Magic," he replied shortly. "You're muggleborn aren't you?"

Danny Boy 02-11-2008 07:49 PM

Barry walked up to the van and saw the grounds keeper and said "Hello there I`m Barry weasly its nice to meet you may I come in for a tea perhaps"

AYOCutie 02-11-2008 07:54 PM

Kyler chuckled darkly. "Not even close, Dude." He replied, the grin widening. "Im Pureblood." Oh great, now he's being mistaken for asking random, oblivious, questions. "You know there's other ways besides magic right? I mean, you could have built it up there, or somthing, You know?" He snickered. "But im just wondering, anyway,"

"What is your name anyway?" He forgot to ask this question in the first place, being distracted by all the simple, rude, answers he was getting. "Kylator Greyson, By the way, But call meh Kyler." He gave out his hand. But then again, The dude probably hated him already, might as well not introduce right? he was just curious, like always. "So are you the new Groundkeeper?"

Yet, another boy had came. Oh great, Now this dude was for sure going to ignore him. He nodded once to the new comer and turned his gaze back on the Tall dude.

Ocean looked away from the Slytherin boy with the endless questions to the and raised a finger. "One second, Mister I Invite Myself for Tea on the First Meeting."

He turned towards Kyler and shook his hand quickly releasing it. "I am the new groundskeeper. Ocean Tea Jones. I am a Libra. I'm ambidextrous. I don't like oranges. Anything else, Mister Greyson?"

If this kid was a pureblood, surely he was a squib.

Waddles 02-11-2008 08:13 PM

Juniper looked from the groundskeeper to the boy who had introduced himself as Kyler, then back at the groundskeeper. "Why don't you like oranges?" she asked. She rarely ate oranges herself, but they tasted fine in her opinion.

Danny Boy 02-11-2008 08:18 PM

"Yeah I guess I`m a bit quick in meetings well why don`t you like oranges"

Ama 02-11-2008 08:31 PM

Ocean rubbed the space between his brows roughly, breathing in and out slowly before daring to speak in front of the students. His mind was clouded with stress and all he could hear was a series of strings of bad words he shouldn't say in front of humans under the age of 21.

"Too much acid," he answered and stepped aside, sweeping his arm to gesture at his hut. "You're all more than welcome to come in. I'll try to wrestle my pot into serving some tea for you all. Mind the moss by the coffee table. It doesn't like being stepped on."

He counted the heads of students. Six. Just short of a lucky number.

AYOCutie 02-11-2008 08:38 PM

ooc: O M G. Ama I lubb it XD "One second, Mister I Invite Myself for Tea on the First Meeting." *giggles*

Kyler snickered. Guessing they did have Alot in common. "No, Mister Jones, I am not. I am libra, Alergic to Oranges, And very curious peron." He smirked.

Ocean, That was A funny name. "Do you like to surf? I mean, cause thier all pegged into the ground." Kyler would keep this conversation going for as long as he could. "And what is that?" He pointed towards the grayish blob thing. "And what is it for? Is it like those barbaque thingys? You know, the thing muggles use to burn food?"

This was wierd. And this whole time, Kyler thought he hated him! This was great. "Sure thing," he nodded, gesturing about the grumpy moss. "Lady's first, Madame." Kyler nodded once more towards the young lady, giving A small smile.

Danny Boy 02-11-2008 08:43 PM

Barry said "Thanks Ocean did your Parents live near the sea? Thanks for inviting us inside"

Waddles 02-11-2008 08:45 PM

Juniper looked at the groundskeeper. He appeared to have a problem with all the students who had come to introduce themselves. She then stared at the boy who said ladies first. Why was he being polite? She had never met a polite boy before. "Thank you," she said, ducking her head as she stepped inside.

"Moss? There's moss by the coffee table?" Juniper said. Imagine. Moss, inside. She looked around to try to see the coffee table and its moss. She only hoped there was no coffee.

Maya Ellwood 02-11-2008 08:52 PM

Maya stared. And stared some more. What. In. The. World.

"Err..." She mumbled to herself, walking to the door. She had wanted to get acquainted with people... Or so she thought. She had brought a paper bag of bran muffins (she was unable to get anything else BUT bran) and a mug of hot cocoa for the person living inside this... Thing. She knocked on the door twice and waited for the person to answer.

Ama 02-11-2008 08:58 PM

Leaving the door open(he had a feeling more visitors would arrive) he purposely ignored all of Kyle's questions. They were difficult to keep up with and Ocean just wanted to sit down anyways. He stepped over the beanbags and procured his wand, conjuring the rest needed to have all the children seated. The air was heavy with a sweet smelling smoke. He didn't apologize for it.

"Sit down," he ordered, gesturing at the bright red beanbags surrounding the hexagonal shaped coffee table. On the table, standing on his hind legs was an irritated praying mantis. Ocean hadn't decided what his name today would be.

Behind the seating area were some closed doors leading to the loo and the bedroom. Alongside one of the walls hung his prized boards: 1 for skating, 1 for snowboarding and 1 for surfing. The rest continued to litter the surrounding of his van-hut.

On another wall, adhered to the wall were several glass tanks inside of them all kinds of insects mostly beetles.

"Now where is that teapot," he muttered to himself, kneeling down and making a fuss in the kitchen, discarding empty pots in his search. There was a knock on the door and in his eagerness he jumped up, bumping his head against the counter.

"COME IN!" He hollered. "Door's open isn't it?"

AYOCutie 02-11-2008 09:31 PM

Kyler nodded, once again, to the girl. "Anytime, hun." He gave A small smile.

After stepping inside the van-thing-of-a-home, the first thing he noticed was the evil looking praying mantis. "Does it bite?!" He asked. He was already paranoid of Animals, Squeaky marble floors, and Now trees. He did not need creepy crawly bugs added to the list. Kylator stared at it blankly, what would he expect it to do now? Attack?

He did not want to sit down near it! He thing would attack! He was sure of it. Stupid, murderus, things! "Uh, Sure. . ." he was so unsure of what to do, but decided against arguing with the angry groundskeeper. Darting to the bright bean bag closest to the door and farest from the bug, he took his seat. NO! The thing was eating him alive! Kyler could feel himself sink deeper and deeper into his seat, like quicksand. he stood up quicky, re-adjusted his seat, and sat down again. it was still eating him!

After about 10 minutes of fussing with it, he didn't care anymore. Taking his seat once more, he fell into the bright red whole, 'till his bum hit bottom. "This is very. . . Different." There we go, that was the right word.

Taking A glance of his surroundings, he spotted what somthing just like his. The skateboard. "You skate?" Kyler blurted out. That was A stupid question, along with all the other one's. "And snowboard? Im impressed." He snickered.

Kyler jumped at the sound of A bang and the shouting from the kitchen, causing him to sink deeper in the bright red man-eating beanbag. "You ok there, bud?" Hopefuly he didn't get eaten, too, but by somthing worse.

Waddles 02-11-2008 09:47 PM

Juniper sniffed the air as she sat in the red bean bag closest to the praying mantis. She wanted to stare at it when she was not looking around the hut. The smoky smell was intriguing, though. She could not put a finger on exactly what the smell was, but it seemed familiar. She sniffed. “What’s making the smell?” she asked. Whatever it was, it smelled good.

Juniper glanced at the Kyler boy. He was being too nice. It was unnatural, but she liked it. She gave him a half-smile back before turning to look at the praying mantis. She wondered why it was so angry. Perhaps it merely did not like people. She could relate to that. With a passive observation, Juniper realized that she had gone way outside her comfort zone already, and she had just gotten to Hogwarts. Here she was, sitting in a hut with several other people that she had never spoken to. It was odd, but she was not uncomfortable. It was impossible for her to be uncomfortable when any animal, including bugs, was around.

“What’s your praying mantis’s name, sir?”

Ama 02-11-2008 10:46 PM

Giving up on his mission he stood warily, wiping his sweaty palms on the backside of his denim trousers. There was an uncomfortable amount of underage students in his van-hut and he seriously hoped they weren't all as nosy as Mister Greyson. The last thing he needed were some bratty kids snooping in his drawers.

"I had a lot of free time once I graduated," he answered Kyle. Perhaps it was a bit cryptic but he didn't know how else to respond to a question with such a blatant answer.

The most quiet of the bunch had asked him a question and his ears had picked it up quickly, having been able to identify the change in chattering voices (mostly just Kyle's voice).

"Well," he began with a drawl but was interrupted by a blur of colors missing the side of his head. "Whoa! Becky!" He called out and jumped ahead to grasp the blur in his hands. Once still, it revealed to be a brightly colored teapot which kept trying to escape its owners arms. "Sorry. My teapot doesn't like strangers. I'm afraid you'll all have to introduce yourselves before I can convince her to serve you some tea."

He struggled to keep her within his grasp and eyed the circle of students decorating his living room.

This wasn't what he expected at all from his job.

Waddles 02-11-2008 10:52 PM

Juniper was only slightly surprised, and not at all bothered, by the enchanted teapot. She had grown up in a pureblood household, after all. Looking directly at the teapot, she spoke clearly. "I'm Juniper," she told the teapot.

Then, looking at Ocean, she added, "Did you just call your teapot Becky?" She would have addressed the teapot directly, but did not want to call it by the wrong name. That would have been rude.
