Professor Carter entered the classroom, hurrying to set everything up and get his materials ready. He was very excited to finally be teaching a class, and he had high hopes that the students would enjoy it. It had to be perfect. When he had gone around and distributed a pencil and notebook on each of the desks, Carter opened the door and stood by it, holding a basket of peppermints in his hand for the students to take if they wished. He was totally ready for a great class.

Ellie walked in the classroom "Hello Teacher" she said with a little smile as she closed the door behind her.
She took a seat in the middle of the room close to a window. "Perfect place" she thought. It was her perfect seat.
She was curious about that class, her mother was a witch but her dad was a muggle. She was curious about the way they would teach muggle things.

Amelia enthusiastically entered the Muggle Studies Classroom. It was a new teacher, and she was anxious to see how well he would hold out. Mmm... Peppermints? He's off to a great start already! She took one of the small mint candies and popped it into her mouth, "Thank you!" she said cheerfully as she went to take a seat. He even provided the class with a pencil and notebook; how thoughtful of him! Either that or he is just trying to earn the respect of the students...

Laylee walked in, extremely confident in this subject. She practically was a muggle about a year and a half ago. She took a mint the Professor offered and smiled at him.
She went towards the second row of desks and took a seat, getting out her things...

Rapunzel strolled up to the Muggle Studies classroom and was pleasantly surprised to find the professor waiting at the door. "Oh, er, hello sir!" she smiled and nodded at him, and took a mint as she entered. She was also a bit surprised to see pencils and notebooks all prepared. Just like old days...back in elementary school...

Rapunzel took a seat at a table near the front and fiddled with her pencil. Hopefully they wouldn't have to take a test or anything....

Emily wandered into the Muggle Studies classroom. She smiled at Professor Carter on her way past and accepted a peppermint gratefully. “Thank you, professor.”

Emily was nervous and excited about this particular lesson - being a pureblood witch who’d never been allowed muggle stuff at home, she was utterly intrigued by what the class may involve. Plus she was fascinated with muggles, and keen to learn more about them. She sat down next to Ellie and gave her a small smile, hoping that everything was ok now. She sniffed the peppermint before taking a bite. ‘interesting.. kinda refreshing…... And a wee bit strong’ She started to cough a little and looked over at the professor feeling a little embarrassed.

Ariana walked in, no longer skipping but still thrilled to be in a class she knew, like really knew! Taking a peppermint she grinned at the professor and said, "Thanks!" as she passed him and sat down beside amelia, nodding to her.

She set her books down and prepared herself for a good lesson. Muggle Studies was one of her favorites and she actually knew everything about it, which was one thing she valued most. growing up a Muggle had helped tons in her schooling.

Muggle Studies was, for Jamie, perhaps the easiest class he had at Hogwarts. Which largely had to do with him growing up in the Muggle World. He ambled to class slowly, rubbing his eyes. He hadn't been sleeping well lately at all, and he blamed this completely and solely upon Faye and her strange ways. He made for a desk at the end of a row, steering clear of windows. All he needed was the warm rays of sunlight to lull him to dreamland.

Dropping his bag, he slid into a desk, aiming a nod at the professor before slouching in his seat. He eyed the notebook and pencil before him meticulously. It'd been ages since he'd had to use of those. Ashlie kept loads of them in her house but he never had reason to use them.

How quaint.

Austin entered the class smiling at the professor he took a mint and popped into his mouth, he then went and sat at an empty desk. He couldnt wait for the lesson to start, being half-blood he was somewhat knowledgeable of the muggle world.

Excelsior happily accepted a peppermint and said, "Why thank you, professor!" He took a seat toward the middle of the classroom, waiting to see what was in store.

Seth walked into the classroom. He took one of the peppermints and said "Thank you, I love these!" Then he moved to the front of the room and took a seat.

Angelika entered the classroom and was startled to see Professsor Carter standing right inside the door, holding peppermints. "Oh, hello, Professor...sir," she said quietly, not completely sure how to address a professor. She gratefully accepted a peppermint. "Thank you. I like peppermints." With a smile, Angelika slipped the peppermint into her mouth and sat down next to the Slytherin boy she had followed in. She didn't say anything to him, but merely opened her notebook and fidgeted with her wand.

Laylee looked around as the room slowly began to fill with students. She noticed a few people she had met and mostly kids she had never talked to, but had seen.
She noticed a particular boy, sitting just a few desks away, who she had seen in the Ravenclaw house. He was in her year. She wasnt sure of his name though. Laylee really needed to talk to people more! She didnt even know people in her own house!

Professor Carter greeted each of the students with a friendly hello as they entered, pleased to see how cheerful each of them looked. "I sure hope you guys like the peppermints," he commented after one of the students made a statement about how they were strong. He resisted the urge to chuckle upon hearing it, then smiled as the room was beginning to fill up quickly. "Very good, very good. We'll wait for a few more students before we start!"

"Ooooooooh sweeties!" Clifford exclaimed as he wandered into the classroom. It seemed the class had got of on a good start already. Free candy!! What a bonus!

"Thanks Professor!" He grinned, happily shoving the sweet into his mouth and searching for a seat. He spotted Excelsior in the middle of the room and hurried to sit at his free side. Muggle Studies wasn't his strongest subject and he would probably need a friend to help.

"Hey Clifford," Excelsior smiled at his friend. "Hey, sorry I ran out so fast the other day. It was nothing to do with you! Everything is gonna be okay, though, I'm sure of it. Anyway, I hope to talk to you and Evangeline soon."

As it looked like most of the students were present, Carter slowly shut the door and strolled to the front of the classroom. He picked up a piece of chalk and wrote Professor Carter somewhat sloppily on the chalkboard, then turned to the class.

“Hello everyone! My name is Professor Carter and I shall be teaching Muggle Studies this term. In this class, as long as you try, you will certainly not fail. Class participation is the key to success! So do not be hesitant to guess at a question if you don’t know - I could just give you house points for trying!

“Since this is Muggle studies, it is only proper to do things as they would, right? That is why you have Muggle notebooks and pencils already on your desk.” He smiled around at all of their bright faces and paused, letting them all get comfortable and examine their pencils or notebooks if they wished.

Amelia rolled her eyes when he told them that the reason they had notebooks and pencils was to do things as muggles would. This was such basic stuff, and would surely be an easy class for her.

She looked over and saw that Ari had sat down next to her; smiling at her she then turned her attention back to Professor Carter, showing she was ready for the next part.

Excelsior picked the, what was it called? pencil up in his hand and turned it around. He had heard about these things but didn't realize they actually existed. He saw that there was some kind of black stuff in the middle of it, that would be the stuff that left the writing on the paper, he realized. "Interesting," he thought, twirling the pencil. It was light, that was for sure.

Ariana finished her peppermint and looked down, now noticing the pencil and notebook on her desk. She grinned, already knowing how to use one and picked up her pencil, feeling the lightness of it in her fingers. Twirling it around slightly, she poked the end and nodded, seeing that it was sharp enough.

Opening her notebook she looked up, ready to being the lesson. So far the professor seemed nice, but she was willing to be he could be mean if necessary. She waited patiently, a warm smile on her face.

Ellie turned her eyes from the window to her notebook and her pencil.
She smiled as she crossed her legs.She knew them very well.
She looked at the other students their faces were so funny when it came to muggle stuff.

"That's alright, mate." Clifford said with a small nod. He had had a small feeling something was going on between Sarah and Excelsior but didn't want to interfere. He quickly turned back to the front of the classroom when the Professor began talking.

House points for trying? That was good, because Clifford had a feeling he wasn't going to have a clue about the answers. He looked down at the strange instruments Professor Carter had given them and his expression became confused. There seemed to be something missing. "Professor?" Clifford asked, timidly raising a hand. "You haven't given us any ink."

Emily looked down at her notebook and pencil and frowned. 'How primitive', she thought. 'This is going to be interesting.' She picked up the pencil, opened the notebook and scrawled ‘Muggle Studies 1’ - it wasn’t her usual neat handwriting. It looked like a 5 year old had written it. She glanced around at the other students - most of them seemed to be managing just fine. She sighed and looked over at Ellie to see what she was doing.

"Oh brilliant! I never knew how much I missed these things until I saw one again!" Krissy said as she picked up her pencil.
Opening her notebook she wrote "Muggle Studdies Lesson One" on the first page in her neat script. The pencil felt strange in her hand, as though she had forgotten how to hold one properly. "I've only been at this school for part of a term? How did I forget what I was taught as a childe?"she said to herself.

Willow stared at her pencil and paper. SHe had seen these gadgets outside muggle stores but she had never touched onw before. She grabbed her pencil and with her hand trembling a little she wrote her name in top of the paper. This sure was one of the classes she was expecting the most!
