A soothing song is coming from Professor Maline's indoor classroom, and sat on a rather large perch is a Phoenix, Professor Maline's newest pet. The door is open for you to sit down and make yourself comfortable on the bean bags and low desks, and cookies are spread about the classroom.

Professor Maline however, is sat on her desk, on her hands are a pair of gloves, and it's an idea that you wear yours too.

Mystie came in to the room to the pleasant sounds of a soothing song and a beautiful Phoenix sitting on a rather large perch. She made herself at home on one of the bean bag, grabbed a cookie, and took out these tiny little gloves from her bag and taped them with her wand and they where regular size now.

Amy entered the class room taking notice of the Phoenix and its soothing song. "Hello Professor Maline's," she said passing the Professors desk. She then made her way over to one of the bean bags and took her set.

Daphne happily bounded down to the Care of Magical Creatures classroom. She wasn't thrilled with wild creatures, but she heard a beautiful song that wiped all her fears away. She walked into the classroom and her jaw dropped. "A Phoenix!" she breathed. She'd never seen one in person, though she'd heard her great-great-great grandmum had had one at some point in time.

Daphne made her way over to a nice red bean bag chair and plopped herself down. She looked over to the cookies and suddenly noticed her stomach rumbling. She got up and grabbed too small cookies and put them on her short desk. She got out some pink dragon-skin gloves and kept her eyes on the beautiful phoenix.

Clifford sat nervously on a large bean bag and placed his rucksack on the low desk in front of him. He frowned as he saw cookies spread around, it felt strange being so comfortable in a classroom. He took a bite of a cookie and looked up at the phoenix which was standing on a large perch at the front of the classroom.

He looked around and saw people putting on their protective gloves. He took his gloves from his bag and placed his wand on the table infront of him. Practical lessons were his favourite, he had a feeling he would be enjoying Care of Magical Creatures.

Evangeline skipped into the classroom, her heavy bag slung over her shoulder smiling when she heard the shooting song and when she saw the Phoenix. She looked around and spotted Clifford sitting in one bean bag. She walked over to him, dropped her bad on the floor and grabbed a cookie. "May I sit here?" - she asked Cliff not waiting for the answer and sitting on a bean bag next to his.

As Brooke came into the classroom, her eyes audomatically fell on the Phoenix. It looked so beautiful! She had read about them, but never actually seen one. "Hello professor!" she said, turning her attention to Professor Maline and taking a seat on one of the bean bag chairs.

Professor Maline smiled as the class filed in to the room, there weren't many of them yet, but Ophelia didn't mind, she'd have a quieter class, although she didn't mind noise.

"Hello Amy," She smiled brightly at the girl who had greeted her, and spoke once more, "We'll wait a bit longer i think," She grinned, absently stroking the Phoenix beside her. "Hey Brooke," She grinned as she was greeted once more.

Clifford turned and smiled as Evangeline joined him at the desk. "You don't have to ask my permission to sit down, Eva." He smirked, he glanced up at the teacher nervously, he wasn't sure if she was strict. She might not allow talking during classes. He lowered his voice. "Know anything about phoenix's then?" He asked, finishing his cookie.

Rosalie walked into the Care of Magical creatures classroom, and was pleased to see the number of Slytherins that were already there. She smiled politely at Professor Maline then headed towards the rest of the class, and took a seat.

Eliza peered her head into the classroom to find out what was making such a sweet melodic tune. Maybe Professor Maline had begun some singing lessons and had gotten so good she sounded incanting? Nah. No one could sing that sweetly. As she moved in through teh door, she nodded at Professor malnie and gave a sweet nad innocent bow. Good day Professor Maline!" she said in a rather musical voice of her own. She had her gloves with her, she always carried them around just in case she might need them. She couldn't help but gaze in awe at the phoenix. It was so beautiiful. She wondered if she should buy one to add ot her collection. But she didn't know how ot care for one. Well, she would soon! She tried to hide her small limp as she moved to the front of the classroom to take part in the lesson. This would be fun!

Evangeline shifted nervously in her seat when the teacher spoke before turning back to Clifford. "Something. Not much, actually" - she told him taking her gloves from her bag and placing them on the table.

Si looked up from his parchment where he was taking notes on the general appearance of the Phoenix and gave Professor Maline a smile. It was hard to take notes wearing gloves but Si thought at least he could always go back and re-write them later if he needed.

Clifford glanced up at the teacher, she seemed to be busy with the Phoenix, he watched it for a little while, they really were magnificent creatures and he happened to know quite alot about them. He turned back to Evangeline, "Not much? So you haven't read your Care of Magical Creatures textbook then?" He grinned. "I actually know quite alot about Phoenix's.. I hope I don't show you up."

Chris walked into the class room, and walked over to a beanie. He gleared at the beautiful bird on the teachers desk. He took out his paper and quills and began to draw the bird to pass time.

"I'll think i'll start the class now," Professor Maline said out loud, swifly tying her blonde mane of hair up behind her head with a ribbon. She grinned at the class, even if it was small, and lightly hopped off the desk.

"The Phoenix has been given a XXXX rating by the Ministry, there is a reason for this, can anyone tell me what it is?" She asked them softly coaxing her Phoenix - Azula, onto her gloved arm.

Eliza had memorized Fantastic Beasts so her hand immediately shot up "Because of it's rarity of successful attempts to domesticate it, Professor!" she said, almost half a second after Mystie. She bit her lip and let her hand fall back down to her side, ready to fly straight back into the air again when needed.

Evangeline quickly raised her hand. "The rant of XXXX given to the Phoenix does not indicate ferocity, but rather the rarity of successful attempts to domesticate it" - she said quickly. I hope I'm right - she thought.

"All of you get two points each. The Phoenix is not an easy creature to domesticate, although not violent, like Evangeline most rightly mentioned, the Phoenix is an extremely restless bird, and will continue to move." Professor Maline said nodding and raising her arm in the air so that the Phoenix would spread her wings for them to look at.

"They are usually found in Egypt, China and India." Eliza answered quietly, her hand in the air once more. She was happy she liked animals since she knew bits and pieces about each one. But her favourite animal was the Niffler. They sounded so cute that she was determined to get one when she was older.

Clifford knew the answer to this one. He grinned and raised his hand, he coughed nervously before saying. "They are found in Eygpt, India and .. er.. China." He gulped. "And they nest on mountain peaks." He raised an eyebrow as many other people in the class managed to answer the question. His small knowledge about Phoenixes probably wasn't going to be much use in this class.

Daphne couldn't keep her eyes off of the beautiful creature. All she could think about was wanting one of her own, but she knew better. They were really rare.

Daphne heard a question, and for once she knew the answer. She shot her hand up. "Phoenixes are often found in Egypt, India, and China!"
