Hazelle nodded to the Slytherin champions and allowed them to step into their section of the maze, moving her up, lifting the rock out of the way for them to enter.

Pauline was ready for this. She had been praticing for months on her spells and she knew she could do this. She could get a win for her house. They needed it. This year for Slytherin had been the worst in centuries. They were ladt in hosue points and had gotten last in the Quidditch Cup race. It was pathetic, and now they were dead last for the Interhouse Tournament, this was not going well.

She shook her legs and arms, getting loosened up and ready. She twisted her neck about, loosening that up and put her hands on her hips and twisted her waist. Once she was done relaxing she started to mentally perpare herself. "We can do. I can do. Slytherin will not come last. You can do this. Pauline you are champ. You are champ." she repeated over and over again.

Suddenly she realized her Head of House was standing and letting the Ravenclaw enter. They were ahead so of course they got to go first. She mentally wished her cousin luck and then waited for her turn to enter.

Once Proffesor had moved the rock, Pauline did a carwheel, roundoff, and a back hand spring and ended by yelling "Go Slytherin!" and then winked at her Head of House. She turned around and headed straight ready to beat all of the other champs and win some pride for her house.

Hazelle gave a small nod as one of her champions entered the maze...

Inside the maze was darker, the trees loomed high over head and no sunlight made it inside this dark corner of the Forbidden forest. A howl in the distance reminds you that you are not alone with just the other champions in this forest. The only question remains is....are the animals inside or out?

Out in front of Pauline was a fork. Would she go left or right?

Pauline was so ready for her first encounter with an obstacle. She had never been this excited to face something so bad or dangerous, but she knew this is what she was meant to do. It all came down to this task and she was not going to give up or get beaten. This was her shot to prove she was something.

As she walked straight she wondered where her team mates were or where the other champions were. It was becoming steadily darker as she moved ahead and soon trees hovered over her and the sunlight was no longer there. This was the Forbidden forest as she had never seen it. Suddenly her happiness died and she was now nervous as ever.

She decided to sing, "Home Home on the ranger where the deer and the antelope playyyyyyyyyy," she stopped. A loud and creepy howl came in front of her. It seemed far but she could never be to sure. She wasn't sure if the animal was in the maze or out. She crossed her fingers and prayed out out out. She started to sing louder. "I've got joy joy joy joy down in my heart? Where!! Down in my heart!"

She kept singing started to shiver a bit cause of the cold. She then found herself at a fork in the maze. 'Should I go right or left?' she thought and took out her wand. "Point me," she spoke loud and clear still making sure an animal knew she was here. Was that smart though? Shouldn't she try to stay low and not found? But then it could sneak up on her and WHAH-BAM, she would be gone and done with. She decided to hurry up and make an impulse decision. So she went left.

Cornish pixies fly out of nowhere, one grabs for your wand, another five (5) grab your robes and lift you up, up, up, higher and higher, whilst giggling in their high pitched voices.

Pauline had just taken the left and was about to sing again. It was getting steadly darker and pretty soon she would have to use her wand and make light. That would be very annoying escpecially since the light would only let her see about two feet in front of her. Which meant that she would not know what was ahead of her, not that she knew now, but still.

Pauline had taken two steps and suddenly she was lifted up in the air. Why was she flying, she hadn't asked for help. She flew quietly and then heard fits of laughter. Cornish Pixies! Great. She took her wand out and said, "Lumus." Her wand lit up and she noticed there was 5 of them lifting her up, to god knows where.

She was about to stupfy them, when she heard a whooshing sound and a evil laugh. "WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" and another pixie came at her. She ducked quickly but unfortunetly the pixie took her wand. That's exactly what she needed.

Now she needed to get her wand back and defeat these pixies. She was steadily getting higher in the air. She tried to snatch the pixie that stole her wand. "I'm going to get you," she yelled at the pixie as it teased her by coming closer with her wand and then backing away as soon as she swiped at it. She really hated these creatures.

The laughter was really starting to annoy her. She decided to try to pry her wand out of her hand by saying a nonverbal. She closed her eyes and thought hard on her prize. She thought of her wand and thought 'Accio wand.'

She repeated it and hand ready to catch it. 'Come on work' she thought and repeated her spell. She thought of her wand hard and had her hand and then something was in her hand. She opened her eye and she had it. It had worked. She smiled and then screamed as the pixie came at her. Her instant reaction was to yell her spell she was going to use first. "stupfy," she yelled and the spell hit the pixie and it toppled down to the ground and hit it with a large thud.

She turned to the two pixies holding her feet and yelled, "Stupfy. Stupfy," and they did the same as the first one. She then pointed her wand at the one holding her hair. She screamed, "Stupfy!" and that one dropped to the ground. She turned her wand on the last two and also yelled, "Stupfy. Stupfy!" and they fell from her shoulders, hitting each other on the way down, and landed on the ground.

She then realized she would do the same. She was falling and falling and falling. Bam! She hit the ground on her stomach. She tried standing up but it hurt. She was not going to give up, though. She tried again, and again, and finally got up. She started to walk a heavy pace forward, to get away from the pixies when they woke up.

Escaping the pixies was easy, was it not? Too easy maybe? The path stretches on before you, deeper into the forest. You can't see in front of your face now, it's completely dark, heavy sounds are before you, but you cannot see where they are coming from.

A twig snaps behind you, yet you see nothing.

Pauline sighed and was more relaxed, for the moment, as she got farther away from the pixies. She started to walk at a slower pace. 'That wasn't to bad, just the fall hurt a lot,' she thought and then realized the forest was becoming darker and darker.

She decided to light her wand since she could not see her feet nor her hand in front of her face. She held up her wand and whispered, "Lumos." She now could see her hands and her feet. She hoped everything would be scared of her light and maybe she wouldn't have any more troubles and she could get the cup easily.

All around her deep heavy sounds surround her, but she wasn't sure where they were coming from. She wondered if they were out or inside the maze, and once again she hoped out out out. Behind her a twig snapped.

She turned around quickly and held her wand out, "Whose there?" she called out, but it was to nothing. She was getting scared now. She started to whimper,"Mommy, Mommy." She didn't like this one bit. She started walking backwards making sure nothing would sneak up behind her.

Popping up in front, or rather behind her, was a suit of armor. "You know," he echoed, "You'd see where you're going a lot better facing this way. Though, by facing the other way, you can see where you've been, so either direction to face is a marvelous idea. Do tell me, have you decided which way you're going to go?"

Pauline was walking backwards, hoping she would spot whoever had made the twig snap in half. Something large or tiny could have done it, and so she didn't know what she was up against. She was taking another step back when an echoed like voice cam from behind her. "Yahh!!" she jumped up, about 15 feet in the air and had turned back around to face the, now what was a Suit of Armor.

She spoke very cautiously and nervously. "i've decided to go the way your blocking," she replied back to him hoping this would be easy and he would just move for her. She highly doubted he would though.

And of course she was right. The armor tightened up and blocked the whole pathway. "All right, what do I have to do to get past you?" she asked aloud to herself and then thought about a way to get past him. She decided to try distractions.

She pointed behind him, "Look it's a rhinosaurous charging," she said and tried stomping her feet like it was really there. The armor didn't budge. She thought of something else. "Look Proffesor Lainey kissing Voldemortist," she said pointed behind the armor again, and once again it didn't budge. She tried one more thing, "Look a water balloon is flying at you," she said again and again pointed behind the suit.

This time she noticd something happen. The armor man didn't move, but his eye, or what ever it was twitched. It made her shiver thinking about it, but it was significant. She smiled evily and pointed her wand at him. "Do you like the color of rust?" she asked him, but he didn't reply. "Well good." she added and then said "Augumenti," and water shot out of her wand and hit the suit.

As every person knows water and metal equals rust, and rust means can't move. As soon as the water hit the suit the silvery color started to trun rust. She continued to smiley evily and went to the suit of armor. She said to him, "You can't touch me. Nananabooboo," and stuck her tongue out at him and passed him with one swift motion.

She walked past him and was walking away and called out to him, "Yes I like this direction best," and continued on.

Out from under bushes behind her, a family of blast-ended skewerts arrived, meandering alongside her, shooting fire at her occasionally.

Several yards later, they block the path leading to the right...

Pauline smiled after her wonderful come back at the Suit of Armor. Wait it was a suit of armor. No one cares. She shrugged her feelings off and turned a corner and wham, saw a family of blast-ended Skrewts come from under one of the maze bushes.

She stayed quietly where she was and watched and hoped that they would move on without seeing her. They were so close to the next bush, all they had to do was go under, when the family stopped. The family started eating the grass. Ugh. They had to stop there didn't they, right in the middle of the path.

She took a step forward and held her wand out, and pointed it straight at the baby. "Immedmenta," she whispered and the spell hit the baby one. She then pointed her wand at the mom and whispered the same spell and hit her right under her belly.

She then turned to look at the dad, who was now not eating and looking in her direction. She had to make sure she didn't hit the top of thebeats or the spell would rebound back to her. She waited, waited for a certain moment. She tried egging it on, and waited for the right moment. She finally got to the Skrewt. It stood up on its hind legs, showing its underbelly. The moment had come. She pointed her wand at him and shouted, "Immpedmenta," and the spell hit the Skrewt flipping it over on it's back.

She swiflty ran past the family, since the effects of the spell didn't last long. She ran past them and several yards later took the path too the right, which was the only way to go.

There, in front of Pauline, laid a baby dragon, sleeping, but snoring with spouts of fire coming out of his nose.
