Professor Allegra De Luca had been through a rough day and it showed in her appearance. She looked as if she had just thrown something together but she still maintained her class. She looked over at the door and sighed thinking of the students that would eventually show up for her class. This was to be a little different. The relationship between Runes and a completely different subject, Arithmancy. | |

Christian entered the class with his soccer ball held in his arm. He smiled nicely at the Professor, he figured she needed it. She looked worn.
"Good day miss," he said.
He took a seat somewhere around the middle and placed his soccer ball in his bag so it wouldn't go anywhere. He smiled and waited for others to show up.

Celestina slid one foot through the door, body left outside.
Nothing.
Her head followed but the body was still in an odd angle, refusing to enter the classroom.
Safe so far.
Stepping in completely she shut her eyes forcefully before peeking with one eye open at the classroom and resident (De Luca). She carried several books in her arms along with her school bag which was slung over her left shoulder. Taking a seat in the front for understanding purposes, Celestina fanned herself finding the room a bit warm.

Kennedy entered the Runes classroom, greeted Professor De Luca and noticed that she didn't look quite like she usually did. Kennedy thought she almost looked uncomfortable. Dismissing her evaluation of the professor's appearance from her mind, Kennedy took a seat in the front of the room with Rori and removed from her tote bag her textbook, a self-inking quill, and a piece of parchment. She sat waiting for the lesson to begin.

Chloe was sitting in the back of the classroom behind a first year so that no one would talk to her, and so she could still see. She still couldn't believe she had entered one of the classrooms that she promised herself she would never set foot in. There were three, actually: Ancient Runes, Arithmancy, and Divination. Yet here she was. She was mainly here to spy on De Luca and get some more information on her. But, if anyone asked, she was not going to participate. At all.
I hate this class, Chloe thought stubbornly as she pulled out her notebook and self-inking quill. She planned to take notes. Notes on all of De Luca's things that made her suspicious. Her weaknesses, too, if she revealed any. As De Luca began to speak, Chloe's mouth dropped. The woman was talking about Arithmancy! Was she in the wrong classroom again? First the stupid Divination teacher took over Herbology, now the Ancient Runes teacher was talking about Arithmancy! She was very tempted to get up and just walk out, but she really wanted to see De Luca's behavior in front of her students. So, instead, Chloe poked her fingers into her ears and refused to listen to this nonsense.

Back to the students she went. "You're all correct. Two points for each of you. Now Runes and Arithmancy are actually used together. Since Arithmancy deals with characteristics like runes does, they are similar. We are going to focus on something else, though. Runes each have their own color they are associated with just like numbers in Arithmancy do. Who can tell me a rune and a number that have the same color?"

Bucky's eyes widened. Uhh... It was bad enough thinking about runes alone did she have to throw numbers into the mix? Panicking she flipped open her Arithmancy textbook and A Young Witch's Guide To Puberty, Angst and All The Drama... Oops, wrong book. She threw that on her lap and opened her Ancient Runes homework and began to flip through them as fast as she could.
By the time this lesson was over, Bucky was going to end up having to go to the hospital wing for a nervous breakdown.

Chloe's mouth dropped at De Luca. She may have had her ears plugged, but she could read lips well. "You freaking hater," she whispered under her breath as she took her fingers out of her ears to fiercely write in her notebook. She muttered a very naughty word under her breath, set her quill down angrily, folded her arms, and let her thoughts speak what she wanted to say out loud.
De Luca hates Ravenclaws. It's true. Now I know why Julia hated her. Any normal professor would've just taken off five points or less. But noooo. De Luca's a hater. She's just jealous of our smarts. She wants Hufflepuff to win the House Cup. But that ain't gonna happen, babe. Ravenclaw will be on TOP. Hmm. Ohh yes. This woman will definitely be getting a fun little surprise in her office after class.
...Chloe? Angry? Naaaaah.

Now here's our activity for today. You guys know how to figure out your character numbers, yes? You are going to use your character number to figure out what rune is associated with it. My character number is three. Three is associated with the colors mauve and amethyst. Ihwaz is a magenta color so it's kind of close to my color mauve with the number so Ihwaz is associated with the number three. You guys do it now." She took a sip of the potion while watching the students. "Tell me what you get."
