Maya entered the office timidly. She didn't really want to bother a professor on the first week of school, but she had to do it. " Erm- hello Professor.. I need to tell you something. " She said, and pulled out a plastic bag of the ashes of the howler that had scremt at her. " I recieved an howler only about a couple minuets ( SP? ) ago. I did not know who it was from, as it had no returning address. It screamed something unintelligeble at me. " She babbled, more than she wanted to babble. " Usually, I don't recieve Howlers - could you please help me figure out what happened? " She asked. " My name is Maya Ellewood. Ravenclaw, first year. " She babbled.

Amber walked in and said “Hi I’m Amber and I’m a third year in Ravenclaw”…..

Sean made his way to Professor Lainey's Office. Sean thought that for a somewhat boring subject in History of Magic, Prof. Lainey made it seem somewhat exciting. He knocked on the door and waited.

Wren walked into the familar classroom and smiled at the Professor. There were other people talking to her so she took a seat at one of the desks and waited.

Lainey smiled amusedly at the young Ms. Ellwood. "Well, if you don't know what it said, nor who it is from, then I wouldn't worry about it. Perhaps it was sent to you by mistake. And, if not, you can always play dumb. No harm done!" Lainey laughed and tossed her a mint. Lainey always had mints.

Using her wand, she propped open the door so anyone could come in.

"Amber, Sean, Becca! All of you come on in, have a seat, have some tea. Have whatever you'd like. The summer appears to have been good to you all."

Hello Professor Lainey, my name is Ashley Loghann and i am a first year Hufflepuff. I was wondering if you needed any help. I you do please let me know and I will always be willing!!! I can't wait for your first lesson!!!

"A helpful little Hufflepuff, we have here," Lainey smiled. "I most certainly will keep you in mind next time I have an errand to run.... Well, actually. Actually, I do have an errand for you. Do you know the Herbology Professor?" Lainey fished in her drawer and retrieved a peppermint. Lainey knew that Virohsa wouldn't ever eat it - but... "Could you take this candy to her? She loves my peppermints."

Sure, I'll take it right to her!!!

"Yes, I suppose my summer was good," said Sean. "How was yours Professor?" he asked.

"Thank you, Ashley. I'll be looking forward to having you in class, Ms. Helpful."

"It was splendid Sean, thanks. Short, but splendid. Didn't get up to much of anything." Lainey grinned and scooted her chair up. "It's actually kind of nice to have something to do again. You think we can win both cups again this year?"

"Most certainly," Sean replied. "We lost a good captain in Kay, but I'm sure Jordana will be able to fill her shoes just fine. And we're already in the lead with house points. How do you think we'll end up in both areas?" Sean asked.

Professor Lainey... always one of Jacques' favourite professors. Jacques walked along the corridoor to her office. He was about to enter when he heard voices of other students in there. Not wanting to disturb them, he got out a spare bit of parchment and scrawled on it

Before he could be spotted by anyone inside the office, he tacked the note to the door and dissapeared back down the hallway.

"We most certainly have a fighting chance. I have fulll faith in our new Quidditch Captain. She was trained under Kay, afterall." Lainey noticed a knock at the door and stood. "Could you see who that is?"

Maya blinked at the amused tone. She smiled slightly and caught the mint in time. She placed it into her mouth and nodded her thanks, leaving the blue office.

Julia came sprinting down the hallway on her way to Lainey's office. She wasn't exactly sure why, but she was very excited to see her favorite professor again. As she neared the office, she saw a younger Ravenclaw come out. The one that seemed to cry a lot. Julia quickly ran inside before the door shut.

Her eyes immediately fell on Lainey. "PROFESSOR LAINEYYYYYYYYYYYYY!" Julia squealed loudly, running at full speed towards her. She lunged through the air and practically tackled the professor with a hug, not noticing the other students present. Once they were on the ground, Julia released Lainey just beamed stupidly at her. "It's nice to see you again, professor."

Lainey tried to catch Ms. Julia - but it was no good. They both fell on the floor in a less than elegant heap. "It's nice to see you too, Julia. Good summer?" Lainey helped them both up and brushed them both off. Big ball of non-stop energy that Julia was.

Julia stood up and simply giggled as Lainey brushed them both off. "Well... you could put it that way," she replied slowly. What happened over the summer stays there and is to never be spoken about again. Even after this thought she still hadn't stopped grinning. She was that excited. "How was your summer, professor?"

"Uneventful. So, actually, quit good." Lainey did a quick spin to shake any dust from her floor off her robes before taking a seat again. The note from the door had came off when Julia flew in and Lianey retrieved it from the floor. "Do you know what this means?" Lainey read it to her, "Kneazles fly south for the winter.
xo." She raised an eyebrow.

As Lainey took a seat, Julia glanced around and decided to remain standing, even though she planned on staying awhile. She put her hands lazily in her robe pockets and raised her eyebrows as Lainey read the letter to her. "Err... what? That makes no sense. Kneazles can't fly, right? Unless you throw them, I guess..." she said, thinking out loud. "There's no name saying who it's from?"

Sean walked back in after going to see who was at the door and saw Julia run in "Someone seems very happy to see you Professor" Sean said and then heard the note. "What a silly thing to write in a note."

Lainey eyed both the students suspiciously. Most of the time, all the students knew exactly what was going on among each other. "Neither of you know what this means...?"

Julia raised her eyebrows yet again. Lainey didn't believe her? Well, she had a reason to. Normally Julia knew everything. "Sorry to disappoint you, professor, but no. I don't. Could... I see the handwriting, though?" she asked hopefully. She knew what a lot of students' handwriting looked like... maybe she could possibly identify the writer of the note if she saw it?

"Of course," Lainey folded the note and slid it to the end of her desk. "It's probably nothing. Surely we don't have another stray poltergiest hanging about.."

Julia picked the note up off the end of the desk and quickly unfolded it. She stared at the handwriting with wide eyes. Only one person has handwriting as nice and unique as this, she thought, not being able to stop a small grin from forming on her face. She'd been in love with Jacques's handwriting ever since she first sat by him in class and saw his notes.

Glancing up at Lainey, Julia wondered to herself why Jacques didn't just come inside and give her the note, just talk to her... or something. Maybe he wanted it to be a secret that he had come. She surely wouldn't spoil it for him, but she definitely planned on asking him about it later. "Hmm... this doesn't look like anyone's handwriting that I know. Sorry, professor," she lied, sliding the note back across the desk. Julia was quite jealous of Lainey because of the last two letters on the note, though. Hmph.
