Zekke made notes on the Confundus charm and on the Finite charm and then raised his hand again. Lily had brought up a good example of a charm that... was... different.

"How about the Deletrius spell? I think it works similarly to the Finite, except it deletes or stops just the one current charm or spell in effect."

Patrick raised his hand and then asked, "Professor Rae what about a mobilis charm. I seem to remember reading that Dumbledore "awoke" the fountain in the Minstry lobby. Could that be considered a defensive spells. You could move things into the way of your attacker. You could also seal doors and a number of others spells that separates you from the attacker.

"I think Deletrius is more of a Banishing spell," Jaren offered without looking up from note-taking, "In that it can be used on objects as well as spells. Finite only works on conjured objects and spells."

"Hmm well Professor I think that it would fall more into the catagory of 'counter attack' rather than attack or defensive." Said Matt hopefully.

Zekke's eyebrows shot up at Jaren's comment and he nodded a bit in thought to the student who spoke up right after. Fascinating... But wasn't there a different banishing charm?

He raised his hand and waited to be called on.

"Isn't Evanesco a banishing charm, though? Does that mean Deletrius and Evanesco are more similar than Finite and Deletrius?"

"That's a good question, Ganymede," Rae nodded and looked thoughtful for a moment. "Some spells are simply too powerful to be impeded in any way by magic. The force behind them, the malice in some cases, is just too great to be stopped by a magical barrier."

"Zekke... Deletrius is a spell that is used specifically to deal with spell effects, not the spell itself. It is something that can disperse the outcome of the spell... smoke or ice or pigeons even, but it isn't something that will stop a spell being cast." She smiled as if at some old memory. "As for other spells that aren't strictly 'Defensive' ones, I think we'll go into those at a later time. For now, I'd like to get some Stupefy practice in, if only because I usually veer away from any spell that leaves my class unconscious. What is the counter spell?"

"Ennerate?" Patrick stated unsure of himself. "It will help revive the person hit with a stunner."

Zekke nodded at Patrick's answer and scrawled down some notes. They'd be getting Stupefy practice in! This would certainly be interesting. Having been stupefied in the past, getting a better grip on the spell and its counterspell would be muchly appreciated.

He rubbed the back of his head a little at the remembrance.

Lexy scribbled down notes as everyone spoke, and chewed on the edge of her quill, lost in thought, when they stopped.

She raised her hand and said clearly yet slightly unsure, "Ennervate?"

Jaren's back was still smarting from the time he'd keeled over backwards under one of Zekke's stunners, so he was quite eager to get some more practice in on the blocking aspect. He scribbled a few final notes before rolling up the parchment and waiting for the next instructions.

Laurasia raised her hand after the gryffindor student had spoken. "Ma'am, I believe that the counter charm is correctly pronounced as 'Ennervate' & not 'ennerate'."

"Exactly... ennervate," Rae nodded to Patrick encouragingly. "Now, I know we do the partner up thing and it takes us forever. I'd like you to quickly and quietly turn to the person next to you and partner up for the practicum session. This person will be your partner for the rest of the class period. Before you begin, a few notes. First, the wand motion for Stupefy is much like a stabbing motion, but you twist your wand clockwise as soon as your wand arm is fully extended. The motion for Ennervate is the same, but you twist the wand counterclockwise. Practice a few times before you start casting. This spell WILL knock you out. Respect your partner and ennervate them as soon as you are able. Do not mess with their person while they are out. Practice only this spell, and try to aim away from desks when you fall. There are pillows in the cupboard by the window if you need one. Good luck."

Patrick looked across the room when Miss Malfoy spoke, and thought, "She is right I mispronounced it. I hope Rae understood what I meant."

Laurasia glanced around the room for a partner. She spotted Zekke & decided why not ask.

"Zekke, would you like to be my partner?"

Xavier stands up and looks around for a partner. He always hated splitting up and choosing partners. Rae should have just chosen people based on ability.

:: Ganymede looked about for a partner. She already grabbed a pillow. She spotted Zekke, "Zekke, Knock me out!" She walked straight up to him. Oh no you don't. This time Zekke is mine! She thought as she looked crossly at Laurasia.She had a pillow in her hand and was ready to be stupified. ::

Glancing around the room Heshasa hoped that someone would ofer to be her partener. She was a bit to shy to ask on her own.Staring at her shoelaces she hung her head thinking "Darn I don't know anyone here."

Jaren looked up to see that Zekke had more than one potential partner already.

"Gany, I'll partner you," he said. He would partner Nadia, but that wasn't the point.

First come, first served, although...

"Can do, Laurasia," Zekke stood up and inclined his head. "I've studied Stupefy for a bit before now, so apologies if the spell is heavy."

He collected his wand and stood in a corner and waited for her.

Laurasia was just about to let Gany partner up with Zekke (they had known each other longer than her & Zekke had) when Jaren announced that he wanted to partner up with her instead. Since Zekke was already in position & awaiting her approach, Laurasia grabbed a pillow & sat it on the ground behind her.

When Zekke gave her his warning she smirked, after all she had seen him & Jaren dueling in the arena. She knew that he was a very capable dueler. "No need to apologize Zekke, just as long as your 'Ennervate' is as good as your 'Stupefy'," she said with a laugh. She looked back to be sure that the pillow was in place & then turned to face him. "Okay, ready when you are Zekke."

Looking up and staring around the room seeing all the friends apring up thinking maybe I'll just hit myself with a stupefy.

Roxanne looked around and tried to find a partner. A few moments later she saw someone looking alone. She decided to partner up with that Gryffindor girl. 'Hmmm...I think her name was Heshasha or something," Roxanne thought as she approached the girl. "Hi! I'm Roxanne...do you want to be partners with me?"

:: Ganymede gave a weak smile and understood her defeat. "Alright." She muttered then turned to go with Jaren. "Jaren, Can I stun you first?" She said with an evil smile. She held out the pillow, "You can put this behind you if you want." She couldn't wait to practice. After all the practice she already had, she practically perfected her wand movement. She pulled out her wand. ::

"Heshasa, grap a few pillows and I'll be your partner," Patrick offer to the other Gryffindor student. "Let's move over by Professor Rae's desk. There aren't any desks but hers so we stand a better chance of survivoring." He smiled as he said it hoping it would relax the girl he hadn't met before.

Rasing her head to see Roxanne talking she said, "Sure do u wanna go first or should I?"...

Looking around to see Patrick talking to she pulled a confused look, "ermm," she said akwardly looking from Roxanne to Patrick hoping one of them would speak.
