You enter a large room with a large window directly across from the enntrance. There are several desks in the room, but instead of all pointing to the front of the room, as is usual, they are surrounding a large tank of water that sits in the middle of the room. There is a ladder on one side of the tank that leads to its top. Sitting next to the latter on a large pillow is what looks like a small dog, except that he hasa forked tail. To the right of the door you came in is another door, which is likely to lead to the teacher's office and living quarters. There is a teacher's desk at the front of the room, and behind it sits a chalk board, on which is written:

Please take a seat. Class will begin soon. Anyone who goes near the tank of water will recieve detention.

As you enter the room, the crup gives you a suspicious glance, but won't get up from his rather comfy pillow unless you approach the tank.

Upon arriving the Charm Classroom, Nadia backtracked. For a second, she thought she had mistaken classes and she had walked into CoMC rather than Charms, as a tank of seemly water sat on the middle of the class with the desks facing it. A crup was nearby, watching her attentively which was as strange.

Nadia walked a couple of step back, checked the number that appeared the door and other suck hints to know the corridor where she was... then guessed she would as well walk in. If Daisie happened to come in, Nadia would simply ask her what did she thought Nadia should do. As she passed by the crup to take a seat, she started at the crup with some disbeief as it growled at him.

This surely was an odd day.

Zelda enters the charms classroom. "[I] oh! no one else in here except me n Nadia" She goes to Prof. Zoa, and says "Hello professor. How are you?" and then patiently waits for more students, and the class to begin.

Jessica entered the classroom which was quite empty. She dropped her bag on an empty chair and seated herself, pulling out ink, quill and parchment to take notes. She then waited for the class to begin.

"Hi Zelda!" Jessica said. She was bored and hoped that Zelda was a nice person to talk to - Most Gryffindors were.

As she hears Jessica she says "Hi Jessica. How are you" and waits for the reply.

Noel entered the classroom, somewhat excited about charms, she was good with wand work. She saw a crup in front of a large tank of water. She decided to wait for class to begin instead of asking stupid questions like: What on earth does this have to do with charms?

"Fine, Zelda," Jessica replied. "You're in which year?" she asked politely.

Athena walked into the classroom. She sat down and set out her things. Once she was settled, she looked around for anyone she would recognize. Not seeing anyone, she relaxed and started sketching on some parchment.

Kate entered the room from her office and walked directly up to the tank of water. She looked around, glad to see that no one had misbehaved before she had arrived. She looked down at the crup and smiled. "Good job Euan, let's move you onto the desk whlie I teach the lesson." The crup wagged it's tails happily and made it's way over to the desk. Kate picked up the cushion that was by the ladder, walked to the desk and set it there. She also took some cookies out of her pocket and laid them on the pillow for Euan. "I'll try to get something better tonight" she whispered, then stroked his head a few times for good measure and turned to the class.
"Thank you all for following directions. I know it may seem a little out of place in a Charms class room, but I assure you this water will come in handy soon enough." Kate moved to the middle of the room to stand next to the tank. She looked at it briefly before turning back to the students and addressing them again. "Can anyone tell me a few ways wizards can stay under water for an extended period of time?"

Ali raised his hand. "Could they use gillyweed or transfigure themselves into a fishlike creature"

"Yes those are two ways; 5 points to you. Does anyone know any other ways?" Kate asked, looking around the classroom.

"Bubblehead Charm," Jaren supplied shortly.

Lee who had been sitting at the back very quietly raised his hand "Truthfully they could just go under the water and not breath. They might suffocate afterwards but they would still be staying under the water for an extended period of time. Otherwise the use of a bubblehead charm maybe?"

Noel opened her mouth to say bubblehead charm but a few other students beat her to the punch. She wrote it down across the top of her parchment.

Erica stretched in her chair and raised her hand.

"There's the option of an enchanted sleep. Only problem is you can't do anything once you're down there. I think I remember reading that they used it in the Triwizard Tournament during Harry Potter's day."

Nadia raised her hand but it didn't stay up - she chuckled the next second of what Lee just said and, came to the conclusion, he quite had a point. Well, they had said it already; the common would be a bubble-head charm.

"What about a transfigurating a dive equipement? That might work," she said, raising her hand.

Kelli didn't have any good ideas except after the other students said them. So she took out some parchment and wrote them down.

"That's correct Jaren, 5 points" Kate said, surprised that the usually silent Slytherin had spoken at all. She turned, intending to continue with the lesson, when she heard the other replies.

Taken off guard a bit, Kate considered him a moment, trying to decide if he was trying to be funny or not. "While that's true, I think we should focus on ways that don't result in our deaths, don't you?"

"That's true as well, but the problem there is that you can't get yourself out the enchanted sleep, which would be a bit nerve-wracking if you didn't trust the person meant to wake you."

"That's also true, and certainly a better option than intentionaly drowning" Kate glance at Lee as she said this. "It is, however, rather harder to produce dive equipment than a bubble head charm, so I think we will just focus on that for today. Before we get to the charm, though, can you tell me some other uses for it, besides underwater adventures? Let's have someone who hasn't gotten points yet."

"Well i'm sure most of us would like to remain alive, but how come i don't earn any points? I answered the question with a proper answer to suit your question," Lee asked thinking he was quite in his right to demand points since others were getting them for answers.

Noel raised her hand, "I suppose it might be useful if you were in a place full of toxic fumes or any where without oxygen."

Seriously!?, Kate thought to herself. She looked at Lee and tried to be as calm and rational as possible. "Well, first of all, I thought, or rather I hoped, you were kidding. Second, even if you were serious, I don't think it right to give points for suggesting that death is an appropriate way to stay under water for an extended time. I realize that I didn't specifically say 'stay underwater and live', but I thought it was an obvious part of the question. I'll try to be clearer next time, but I'll not be giving you points this time."

OOC: I know I didn't say it, but Nadia and Erica each get 5 points, because they're answers were good. Lee, do you really expect points for your suggesting drowning as a way to stay under water, or are you just giving me a hard time?

Athena raised her hand. "The bubblehead charm maybe useful in higher altitudes where oxygen isn't as common as it is here. Therefore, hiking up mountains like Everest would be at least a little bit easier." Athena finished.

Lee groaned as the teacher backfired it to him again. Deciding to keep his mouth shut before he recieved another detention this term he just began playing with his quill.

OOC - It's the way IC Lee would handle the situation, he seen his answer appropriate. I'm sorry if it was giving you a hard time, its just the way i play IC Lee, no hassle was intended and my OOC thoughts weren't processed through my RP.

"Yes, very good, 5 points. Can anyone else think of something, or should we just get to it?" Kate looked around, to see what the students wanted to do.


OOC: That's cool, Lee, I just wanted to make sure you didn't feel cheated OOC as well as IC. I can understand a character reacting a different way than you would... Kate does it all the time
