I think a few days later I found out what the feeling of liking someone was. Miss lady decided to take me out on the town for a history lesson, look at the sites. We stopped over at the café I was at the other night, but she doesn’t need to know that, and she ordered us some bread and wine.
I had my parchment and charcoal in hand and I started to draw a picture of the buildings across the street. Miss lady was talking about some of the boys at the shelter, and I nodded occasionally, still doodling.
Lavender. I sniffed and looked up from my drawing to look around and try to find whose scent it was. It was so, calming and soothing. I looked at Miss lady, no, she didn’t have any on. I looked down the street and stared at all the people. An army soldier, no. An old lady, maybe.
There. It was a little girl, maybe around my age, being pulled by her father down the street. She had honey blond wavy hair that pooled around her shoulders and down her back. She was wearing an apron over a frock of maroon frills. I can smell the lavender oil off of her while she was being pulled by the hand of her father. I could hear her pulse beating rhythmically in her body.
She looked around and her eyes landed on mine. I quickly looked away and started to draw the rest of the building I was doing. Miss lady noticed my eyeing of the girl.
“Oh, does Zero have a liking of a girl?”
I quickly shook my head, my white hair swishing to and fro. I started blushing a pale pink upon my pale cheeks and she giggled. “That little girl is your age, she is one of the generals daughters.”
I nodded, knowing she was out of league with me. “Miss lady, can you teach me to read?”
She smiled affectionately at me and patted me on the head. “Of course my dear.”
I smiled back and took a piece of bread and took a sip of wine from my glass. “Thank you, Miss lady.” |

*new reader* and so far I am loving it. I kinda have this thing for artists. LoL Okay, so Zero has Count Dracula-esque properties because he does have fangs and he eats food. And he isn't really going rogue and turning people into vampires so that's very Cullen-like. Zero is a new form of vampire I think.
Alice? could this Alice be his lady or an Alice most of us are familiar with? 
and we are left thinking, who broke the heart of this fragile being? was it the lavender-scented girl? miss lady? or someone else?
