SSFC Council needs Officers!

We are still taking applications for Council Offices, so e-mail Lissy and Jan at SSsnapeFC@gmail.com if you're interested in any position on the club council. (For example: Secretary, Graphics Officer, Activities/Events, Fan Fiction Officer, etc..) Here are few questions we'd like you to answer for us in your application:

1. What are Snape's hair and eye colors?
   
2. What are some descriptions of his appearence that JKR uses? What animal does she compare him to at times?
   
3. What are some meanings of Snape's name? What is the cruel nickname given to him by the Marauders? The title he gave himself, as seen in book 6?
   
4. From what we know of Snape's early family life - in what way would you feel his upbringing shaped his personality now?
   
5. In what way has the bullying by the Marauder's at school shaped how Snape treats Harry? Did Snape bring some of that teasing on himself?
   
6. Did the events in HBP confirm, go against or change your feelings about Snape?
   
7. Do you feel Snape is loyal to Dumbledore or Voldemort? Is he most loyal to himself and his own ambitions?
   
8. What is your favorite Snape quote and why?
   
9. What would make you a good officer for the Severus Snape Fan Club?
   
10. What kind of activities would you like to plan?

Snape Fans Earn a Forum

This morning, club sponsors Lissy & Jan launched the much anticipated Spinner's End, a forum for all Snape Fan Club activity. Congrats to us all on this!

If you want to proudly display your favorite fan club by using one of the Fan Club siggies, you may PM me your signature and I will enter it for you and link it to the club. You may only ask me to enter a Snape themed sig, you may set it up with linkies and other stuff - just PM it the way you want it to look, all siggie rules from the submit thread still apply, be sure to credit the siggie maker and please upload to your own Photobucket account. If you do not have a PB account, I may consent to let you use mine... if you are nice to me.

Changes to your SSFC Council

We regret to announce that Adz has resigned as our Club Co-president. We'll miss her on the council and we sincerely hope that this frees her up to be even more excellent in her studies and other real-life comittments! Thanks for all your hard work, Adz!

Drusilla Black has been promoted to President from VP. I'm confident that she'll do a wonderful job in her new position.

EDIT by DracosDuchess: And now Drusilla has informed us that she would rather keep her Vice tag and remain VP! Which is totally fine, whatever she wants and makes her happy! She's still awesome!

Okay, by now, I'm sure many of you have heard that the SSFC, along with the SBFC are going to be hosting the First Day (December 1-2) of the 12 Days of Potter!!! Go to this thread if you do not know what I'm talking about!

Everyone seems to be generating some wonderful ideas and right now, we're just chatting about it in the chat thread, but I have made a new thread so we can discuss what we want to do in there instead of using the chat thread! So put on your thinking caps and lets make the holidays for SS members totally awesome!!

Just to let everyone know, the "Snape By the Sentence" game has been reopened and we're just going to continue it like we were! Everyone have fun!!!

The 12 Days of Potter even is fast approaching everyone! Here is what Touz has approved for our club:

All they have to do is request what they want it to look like and what they want it to include!

Now, we are on to Phase 2 of the event! Now we need as many people as possible that are able to get on during the days of our event (December 1 and 2) that are able to make graphics. Never fear for those who cannot make graphics! We need people to write ficlets, too! I am creating a list in this post to show who is going to do what (graphics or ficlets). If you would like to volunteer your time to help everyone celebrate the holidays with our dear Potions Master and double agent, please PM me and let me know whether you would like to do graphics, ficlets, or both! Oh, and here is the form that I have made for the requesters to fill out:

How do you think the graphics should look? Like Snape at the cauldron and the ingredients above it? I've been a little curious on how to do the potions.

Could be any picture of Snape, I think. He IS the Potions Master, after all. I think we should be thinking in broad pictures here, or all the graphics will be using the same poses and such.

I hope everyone's got a nice store of Sev pics to use as bases! If not, let's start finding and saving these, folks! YAY! I'm excited!

Duch, I don't have access to see it. I think, perhaps, only the officers and mods can access it.

I'm looking for some writers! Do you have any juicy news about our lovely Severus Snape? Do you have a question for Miss Tery, perhaps wanting to know a love potion that would woo the Snapester? Then you're just right. Instead of reiterating information all over again, just click the graphic in my signature and it'll take you to a thread that provides all of the information you're looking for. If you know anyone that would be willing to submit anything, point them to this as well. The more the merrier!

We regret to announce that Caitlin (DracosDuchess) has resigned from her presidential chair. She's been an awesome club president and we're really sorry she's leaving this post, however we all understand that commitments to school and other real life responsibilites come first!

This does leave us with fewer club officers than we're comfortable with, so it's time to bring in some new blood! (Use that blood to fill the following out in triplicate, please. )

Fanclub Fanfic

The month of July is just around the corner and we need a little help to kick off the celebration. It’s time to put on your Thinking Cap and gather your black rimmed Harry Potter glasses for a month of fun and writing. Being part of the Snitchseeker Fan Clubs, the Admins and Mods have come up with a bit of fun with spectacular roles for all Fan Club members to enjoy and take part in.

As you know, Deathly Hallows is the seventh and final novel from the Harry Potter series. What if you, the members, could write the final book the way you see it or the way you would like it to end? Well, the time has come to hear your side of the story as told by your favorite Fan Club character in ‘Fanclub Fanfic’.

What we need from the Fan Clubs right now is for you, as a team, to agree on a topic or storyline for your character. You may participate in more than one Fan Club, it is all up to you, just as long as you have fun. Start a thread within the characters forum or have a discussion in the thread and have everyone post their thoughts and contributions to the story, to see where the novel would start and end.

You will notice more Alan-related threads opening very soon, including a News thread for any news about Alan's current/future work, interviews and appearances, and the Biography thread Squibby mentioned, which will include information about other fan sites and charities he supports (such as the Make Poverty History campaign) and how to find out more about them. We will also have a Graphics thread, both for posting resource graphics for graphics-makers, and the icons and banners we make from them.

It's expected that all those who are interested in Alan Rickman will participate in these projects by helping fill in information, searching for active websites (and contact names/e-mails for them, if possible. Look for administrators or webmasters of these sites). If a site asks for credit for movie screen caps and the like, always post your source when sending us/posting pictures so they get their due credit please. Also, please don't hotlink to those sites, but download images you find. If you email them to us, we can put them in the club's photobucket account (either the Snape account or the old ARFC account. ).

Please contact Squibby and/or Kaz about participation, if you're not sure what's already being done. They know what's what and can guide you so that no one's duplicating someone else's efforts. Thanks guys! WOOHOO! GO ALAN!
