| Shakespeare Snape [WINNER ANNOUNCED] Shakespare Snape
Oh yes, it's that time again: rose petals, love hearts and love songs everywhere. You might already be searching your brains for the right colourful words to write on a Valentine's Card. But why so ordinary? Why not do something really special for that certain someone? Have you ever written a Sonnet?
A sonnet consists of 14 lines. Each line has 10 syllables and a regular rhyming pattern. (For examples see below) That's not the end, oh no. The sonnet we're looking for should be for a very special someone or about his love, life, death: Severus Snape will naturally be the centre of your attention while composing this sonnet.
So A rhymes with A, B rhymes with B and so on... Deadline: March 14th 2009 E-mail: sssnapefc@gmail.com or send via pm to RiddleMeThis, squibby or Slytherin Fox.
Once the deadline has arrived, you all will be able to vote for your favourite sonnet and chose the winner.
Note:You do not have to be a member of the SSFC or ARFC to participate. You also don't have to be a major in poetry or scored A-levels in English to participate nor will Snape put you in detention. Just give it a shot!
Snape's looking forward to your entries!
Your SSFC
PS: Questions and comments regarding the competition can be asked in this thread. NOTE: We know this is a hard and difficult task, therefore you may also send in lighter versions of the sonnet or even a poem!
Last, but not least, an example by Shakespeare Quote:

But no such roses see I in her cheeks;
And in some perfumes is there more delight
Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks.
I love to hear her speak, yet well I know
That music hath a far more pleasing sound;
I grant I never saw a goddess go;
My mistress, when she walks, treads on the ground:
And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare
As any she belied with false compare.

I have a question, since sonnets are VERY hard, can we submit a poem instead?

I just don't think it would be fair if members did sonnets and a few did poems; it would like judging an easy question and a hard one. They are both on different levels.
As I said, have a go. The members are judging it and you can still hand in an incomplete piece and win.
Sorry, Riddle x.

True, why shouldn't Half-A-Sonnet win a competition hosted by the Half-Blood-Prince? |

Um, question.... is that my Sn? I looked up that name in the member's list and didn't find one that matches. I remember participating in this challenge.
If it is me... I'd love to have a siggie, please. |

Yeah it was, sorry! I read your UserName as: memesnape.
A signature by Linda and hopefully the tag will follow But I think you'll need to get rid of one tag for that. We will see. |

Cool! Nice siggy, Linda! I'm already 'wearing' it. *points to siggy*
If you need to remove a tag, take off the one 'Ami de Rogue', which means Snape's friend in french. So, that would be switching from one Snape tag to another. |
