"There's a pretty good place on our way to the Moulin Rouge if you can wait that long." Zekke spoke up as his eyebrows knitted together in thought. Come to think of it... that portrait seemed awfully familiar somehow... and it wasn't just because he had seen it at the museum before either.

"Anything in particular you'd like to eat?" He turned to the group with a grin. He knew full well that some people didn't like French food - he actually wasn't too terribly fond of it himself, preferring Italian to French almost any day - and he figured he might as well ask now.

Thinking of possible food choices, he started walking in the direction that led towards the exit.

A bit lost at what they wre suppossed to be seeing, Nadia finally dropped her case as Jaren picked the announcement (she wasn't paying attention that much). With one last hopeful glance, Nadia moved away and next to the others, forming a small group and going outside at last. The museum did look as impressing on the outside, now Nadia noticed more closely.

"A place?" she asked a bit at lost, "You mean to eat, oh! Yes, sure, lead the way. I'm good at time - I mean, I'm good at this rythm," she added nodding though her eyes did move to the side considering it. So indeed they were lead by Zekke, and Nadia took the chance to look about tryin to take in her surroundings.

As long as the food did not involve...those snail things he ate as a boy. Those were particularly nasty. Otherwise, Jaren would eat almost anything edible. He made a "Hn" noise of indifference at Zekke's question of what they'd wanted to eat, leaving it up to the rest of the group to voice their opinons.

:: Ganymede pondered what she was hungry for. She said as she looked around for a restaurant when they were finally in the streets. She spotted a nice fish and chips place called "La Balle au Rond". She didn't think that was really french food, but she was hungry. "There's a fish and chips joint there. I really don't care what I eat. I am hungry" She said watching other tourists get their food. ::

OOC: I looked it up.. its really a place near the Louvre.

Nadia looked at the place in question and nodded, believing this was the place Zekke meant. "Yes, it looks great!" Her eyes had sparkled a bright way as she said this and spotted a table over a balcony looming over them. Next she had switched to temperamental-child-who-wants-her-way-with-it mode and jumped up and down in anticipation, egging them to get in already and get that table before anybody else did. In fact it had started with silly excuses ("looks like the most comfy chairs!"), to offering buying them lunch in this case and finally dropping all pretenses in her anxiousness and resource to drag them inside like stubborn mule. So it was not like she gave them any choice.

But this place indeed had a nice view and Nadia felt was worth the scene. Maybe the boys wouldn't agree, who Nadia pulled along more fiercely, Ganymede needing no more persuading it seemed.

Jaren walked into the restaurant along with an enthusiastic Ganymede and Nadia. He supposed that when you're far away from home, you tend you look for the thing that remind you of it the most. In this case, fish and chips.

Safe enough.

He looked around and gestured to a table near the windows, so they could watch people passing by if they wanted to. He then sat around and waited for everyone to place their orders before stating his.

Nadia looked at the cart with food that was given to her, but not understanding a thing. So instead she started to look around at what other people were eating in other tables. A thing that her father diapproved and considered rude and which she had learned from her mother. Then at that which looked tempting, she kept asking Zekke what they were called and by the sound of it about to eat a bit of each.

Zekke happily explained away as Nadia inquired about the various items on the menu, pointing out what things tasted better with what and which items were lighter on the stomach or more filling.

The food choice couldn't be any better, really, because he loved to eat fish and he also loved seafood. That, and he had a weakness for fried potatoes. Especially doused with a bit of minced garlic and parsley.

Mmmmm...

Apparently, he was hungrier than he had thought...

Seeing Nadia's expression, he chuckled. "Perhaps you can consider ordering a sampler platter? It gives you a little bit of almost everything to try and it's rather filling."

He himself was considering the seafood sampler flatter, though there were so many other appetizing dishes.

"There's such a thing?" Nadia said brightly and clapping her hands together once. A rather obvious grin spread though her face. "Oh, sample platter it is! Err, but I will need you to give the instructions to the waiter, Zekke," she added with a shippish smile. Good thing she had company not to get all lost in this place.

As Zekke finished ordering for her, Nadia was already jumping into conversation. "This city is amazing. I mean, Paris. I don't know if it's the romantic place is reputed to be, but it surely is beautiful. And that said from a person who rarely lok to building structure or such. I'm impressed!" she told him. "Do you always come downtown like this to eat and visit museums, Zekke?"

Jaren didn't bother commenting on Ganymede's French accent, instead scrutinized the menu and ordered his own meal. He wasn't particularly picky, and he simply chose one of the daily specials over whatever else was on the menu.

Zekke chuckled and nodded his approval at Ganymede's French pronunciation, making sure the waiter write down the right order as she gave her order, before he addressed Nadia's question.

"I was born and raised in the house you'll be staying in. Admittedly, living so close to Paris has indeed affected how often I come here to visit." He grinned a bit and sipped at his water before he continued. "Admittedly, also, I have an interest in art and music and Paris is a rather nice place to explore such interests. I'm glad you're enjoying your time here."

Realizing he hadn't ordered yet, he gave his order for the seafood sampler platter and asked for their total order to be repeated. When the waiter repeated back the group's order, he nodded with satisfaction and gave a smile and the waiter inclined his head and disappeared to send the order to the kitchen.

"Ah, yeah," Nadia tuck a strand of hair behind her ear, seemly nervously. "I studied piano because of my parents, and the professor said I was not that bad, but I think I never did have a good ear for music. But I'm not singing always off-key, as Ailen seem to hint."

She added the last rather defensively. Well, maybe Paris wasn't that differnt from home. It was more the sensation of being so far away from home, so unknowing of what was around her. It felt like when she had come to Hogwarts that first year, 6 years ago. Everything looking weird to her, feeling like adventure. No more than a sensation though.

Tunning her attention to Ganymede, she nodded at her question as if in approval. Don't know why she did this, and actually felt a bit stupid once she noticed she had done that. Guess it was the feeling like the question spoke about history and, umh, school? Around this time they were served some drinks.

"Err," she finally said popping into the conversation, "Is that so? My home - I think it's old but I went over to live there when I was 12 or so. I think even know I still don't know some of its secrets. There was a time Ailen thougt it was haunted by ghosts, but I think it's just jinxes from people my father argued with." She said off handly, taking a sip of her drink.

Jaren had nothing important to add to the conversation--granted, he wasn't the sort to handle idle conversations at all. But the mention of Nadia taking piano lessons made him wonder whether it was a trend for all parents or guardians to make young children play musical instruments.

At that moment the food came. Nadia received it with already some drooling over it. Now she had a sample or almost all. Oh she should have made this much before! Independant if the conversation would go on or not, Nadia took the fork and knife and started the sampling and the first dish...

Wasn't as tasty as it was handsome.

It was some type of fish wasn't it? Caviar? Only thing she knew, Nadia, was that she had to take it off her system. She reached a tissue and covered her mouth. A type of moan scaped her lips. This wasn't at all nice. It almost killed her apettite for any of those other dishes... but she couldn't not eat them if she had already asked for it all...

Slowly she took the next thing, some sausage of sorts. Not that bad but not something her stomach felt too fond of. Then the Fondue Savoyarde wasn't that bad, she had actually liked it. But the Cassoulet, though delicious, started to act on her stomach weirdly again. Nadia felt with no urge to try anything but the French Onion Soup afterwards, which her stomach welcomed. But she wasn't any hungry after that.

Even the drinks weren't agreeing with her. Everything tasted strange, and just now she remembered her stomach was this picky...

ooc: *Suddenly has this strange flashback to Borr and the lobster...backs away slowly...*

Jaren had opted for the universally safe dish of grilled fish fillet and was now eating at a normal pace, though casting a glance about him every now and then. Nadia seemed to be fairly adventurous with her sampling of dishes, though it seemed that it wasn't sitting particularly well with her at the moment.

Then again, she was the one who got tipsy on Butterbeer in fourth year...

"Try drinking some water," he suggested, pushing his untouched glass of water towards her.

ooc: I was planning that before the Borr-lobster episode, just for the record >.< Ah, nvm

"Ah, thanks, I couldn't ingest any more... maybe a bit more of those Crêpes..." She attempted bringing her fork near her, but the mix between this and the smell of the different cheese... She let the fork down and took the offered water. But even as she brought it to her lips, she set it back down the table.

"Bad idea," she said grimacing. There was a reason she only drank pumpkin juice at Hogwarts - the water in Europe tasted different from her country and she never got quite used to it. Have you ever tasted water with a different taste? And it wasn't fresh Peru's water either...

She was growing green, Nadia was. Her best plan was not to move.

"It's the difference of water chemicals used from country to country. Not poison." Nadia breathed her explanation not moving an inch, other than to breath. She thought she saw little stars when she closed her eyes.

"Don't worry," she added as she did her best to avoid sudden movements, "I just need a bit of a rest and then I will be fine." She tried to smile reassuringly. "You can finish your supper while I rest for a while. What next? Moulin Rouge?"

She grinned, hinting she was getting better. "We can leave the Cathedral of Notre Dame for tomorrow, and the Eiffel Tower. It's already getting late, too."

ooc: But what if tomorrow never comes?! (has plans for the Effel Tower)

Never having been that particular about water, Jaren analyzed this information with the air of a scientist. Granted, there would be different minerals in the water amongst other things, such as chemical treatment, and source of the water...

He glanced at Nadia and made a mental note to stock up on Weasley's Skiving Snackboxes in the future.
