Severus' arms tightened around Astoria in a hug, and he glared defiantly at the other students staring at them. Barely moving his arm, his wand slid into his hand. He would be ready to block any jinx or hex headed their way.

"Why can't they just accept us?" She asked him. Her voice sounding hurt. She knew that some of the Slytherin's would play up, but she hoped that the Gryffindor's would cope and back her.

"I do not know, love. But it looks like the first fight is about to rear its head." He said, as Lucius stormed over, rage in his eyes. Severus stopped dancing, but kept his hands on Astoria's waist. His right hand held his wand.

"Can I help you Lucius?" He said with a false air of respect.

Gathering all of the courage she could, she turned around, still leaning against Severus. "I'm sorry Lucius, but since when can you tell people who and who not to date?" She said, trying to keep her voice from breaking.

Lucius face went bright red with anger, "it's WRONG, a SLYTHERIN doesn't go out with a GRYFFINDOR! Everyone knows that" He shouted.
"Also you was meant to be my sister friend, well you have picked the wrong family to betray, YOU and HIM will never be happy as long as you are 'dating' and i will make sure of that" He smirked winking at Astoria.

Lucius smiled at Astoria and turned to face Snape.
"You wait and see, you and you darling Astoria will regret this, mark my words" he spat at Snape and gave him a little slap on his cheek.

Severus glared at Lucius. "Astoria is right. You have no right to barge into our lives and condemn us for our choices. We love each other, and nothing you or anyone else can do will stop us. I advise you go back and take care of your sister before she has a coronary. She isn't looking very well." He said and turned Astoria to face him, and resumed dancing.

Suddenly Teresa and Romana heard shouts coming from the other part of the G.H. They both turned to see what was happening. It seemed that Astoria was having a fight with Snape and Malfoy.

Romana ran to Teresa.
'What's going on there? We should go and help her!' she said worried and not taking her eyes off the three.

'Yes we should!' Teresa replied. 'Wait a minute!' She took her arm of Remus's (Grammar?) and looked properly at the scene. Astoria was dancing with... Snape??

The mouths of the two girls dropped. They couldn't believe in what they were seeing!! A Gryffindor with a Slytherin? That couldn't be possible! Their hands covered their mouths.

At that moment, Teresa was not thinking much of what was going on. She was thinking about how Remus was going to deal with that. Afterall it was his sister and he was very protective over her.
He can't look at that! What am I going to do?? she thought. The teenager had to find a way that Remus wouldn't look. But what way? What was she going to do? She couldn't do nothing, she knew she couldn't! He was going to see them sooner or later.

Lucius pushed Snape to the floor, he grabbed him by the neck of his shirt and made him look straight into his cold face. "You better watch you back" He warned Snape.
He stood up and brushed himself down, he winked at Snape and walked back over to his sister was standing.

Severus lay on the floor. He grabbed his wand and flung a trip jinx at Lucius. Satisfied that Lucius had landed on his face, dirtying his new robes. Severus stood back up.

"He won't intimidate me. Astoria, I advise you move. This isn't going to be good." He steeled himself, wand ready send out a Protego, to block any spells or hexes.

Lucius shouted a jinx which made Snape fly up in the air upside down showing his pants. "Dont even try it" Lucius sniggered.
Everyone in the hall was now looking at Snape's bright red underpants.
"Nice undies Snape, the colour really suits you, remind me, where have i have seen that colour before...Oh yeah it's the colour your face has turned." He grinned.
Lucius walked towards the great hall doors. He left Snape hanging upside down in the great hall for another student to unjinx the spell.

Astoria took Severus' advice and had just moved out of the way. After Lucius movedaway, she took her wand out and ended the jinx, turning him around to land on his feet. She moved close to him and placed a hand on his cheek. "Nothing can change the way I feel about you. Lucius Malfoy or my brother. Nobody." She said looking him in the eye, she lent in and kissed him softly.

Teresa looked at the 'war' that was happening between the 2 Slytherins. If it was one of the Gryffindors fighting against one of the Slytherins then she would be cheering, but at that time she wasn't. She simply couldn't believe in what her eyes were seeing. Now there was no way she could stop Remus watching the scene. She knew that he would go mad right when he saw the same she was. She closed her eyes for a moment.
Maybe this is just a crazy dream... that's it just a crazy dream... she opened her eyes and realised that it was no dream. It was real.

Romana looked from Snape to Malfoy to Astoria.
I'm seeing things! she thought to herself. How come any of the teachers is stopping this madness?
She looked at the professors. They were all with they're mouths wide open just like the students. No-one in there seemed to understand what was going on. Someone had to 'wake up' the teachers. They were the only that could stop it! Romana would do it if she wasn't so far away from them.

Julienne sneered at them as she walked toward them, stopping a few steps before the couple. Her eyes were only on Snape.

"Severus Snape, you have willingly gone against the Slytherin rules. And you do know the consequences of those rules. Think about this before you leave the Great Hall and make your decision now."

Ozraya Merlow stepped up from behind her. "The laws and rules state that you shall be forever shunned and ridiculed. As you also know, some of us will not be as merciless as others."

The girl looked at her nails and then quietly said before walking away. "The Lord will be most displeased of this news. You were to be such a promising ally, Severus Snape."

He walked past Teresa and Romana, "Ladies" he said winking at them. He reached the Great Hall's doors he opened them. "Go On Snape get out, and take your lady friend with you, unless you wish to leave her with me! Ill look after her for you!!" He shouted across the Great Hall.

Teresa and Romana looked at eachother. That was a total... what is the word?... escadle (SP?). Any of them knew what to think, what to say,...

Before Remus did anything, Teresa walked back to him and grabbed his arm.
'Calm down, Remmy... this is nothing...' she didn't believe in her words. But she didn't want Remus to explode!

Sirius had been scanning the dance floor when his eyes landed on Teresa and Romana. Walking over to them both, seeing as Remus was also there. He smiled at them with a wink with a, "Hey ladies."

After a moment or two, he realized that both were distracted. Gazing to were their eyes were he could see Astoria fighting back Lucious and dancing with.. with.. Snivellus?!?! His face suddenly had become darkened, his eyes stormed with clouds, calmness settled over him as he turned to Remus, for he wouldn't make a move without the girls brothers permission. Or would he?

Remus had been quiet for quite some time now, and he woundered how this would effect him, and then James too. Clenching his fists and gritting his teeth, all he could do and stand there and glare, ready to pounce the git of a slug Snape as he put his arms around Tori.

He couldn't believe it was his only little sister.. maybe not even blood related, but close enough. And she was dancing with.. with.. it.

Romana suddenly looked to Sirius. He was angry. She knew he was. Whitout thinking she moved towards him and whispered.
'Calm down! Maybe it's not what it seems...' she still hoped that her words were true.

Teresa watched her best friend going over Sirius.
She finally is getting less shy... she thought.
'Everything's OK...' she kept saying to Remus.

Sirius shook his head at Romana's words. How could she be right, glancing over at her, he sighed. "Right, but you can't tell me that in front of your own eyes you don't see this- this.. creature.. dancing with Tori?" He calmly remarked, turning back to glare at the pair that just didn't fit right to him.

'I know...' Romana looked at the floor. It was the first time she was speaking with Sirius in ages and the topic was Astoria. Did he love her? She wished with all her heart that he didn't. She'd rather see Astoria with Snape. Right? Romana didn't know. Her head was a mess, she didn't know what to think nor what to do. 'But we've got to have hope, right?'
Hope that one day I'll have you... even though the possibilities are less then zero...
