Teresa looked at Remus and Snape. She could tell that the Slytherin was feeling every single thing he was saying. It was true that she had once hated him, actually she still did. But this made her hate him even less. The only thing that she had ever heard that was even more beautiful than that was when Remus told her how he felt for her. At this point, her brown eyes had tears.

OoC: But I thought you wanted Severus and Astoria to have to learn to deal with their friends not supporting their relationship? *scratches head* Anyway, after Spoo's really good post, Remus is kind of speechless now, as you will see. Yeah, he's rather stubborn.

Remus stared back at Snape, blinking, but saying nothing until a quiet, "Oh. I see." He was speechless. He had not expected a figure of ugliness to be able to speak something so pure, so beautiful. Though, of course, he wouldn't give Snape the peace of mind to know what he had just thought.

"I see," he repeated. "Well. I suppose that would qualify as a decent answer." He had not been at all prepared for such a reply, and what did he say now, now to something like that? "If it seems you feel like that, then I guess I cannot object," he finally said, having no idea where a sentence of that wording came from. He might as well have said All right. You win. You do love Astoria. She loves you. I can't do anything. "But," he continued, "it should go without saying that if you do anything, anything to upset or hurt her, you will shortly find yourself having us" -he motioned to James and Sirius as well- "to answer to."

Severus nodded to Remus and swept back over to Astoria, pulling her into his arms. He kissed her forehead and held her to him. He knew Remus was serious, but so was he. He loved Astoria and he planned to take care of her for the rest of their lives. At her graduation, he planned on proposing to her.

Lily felt a knot in her chest untighten and unravel into nothing as she relaxed further into the wonderful smell around James. She reached for his hand and held it gently between both of hers, exhaustion guiding her actions. She brought it to her lips and breathed a warm breath on it before kissing the fingers slightly. "Can we... go to bed, now?" she asked in a low voice that seemed to claim the rest of her energy as her head fell softly to James' shoulder. Her eyes closed and she was finally asleep.

James didn't know where to set his attentions at the moment. Should it be his girlfriend Lily, who had practically just collapsed, or Remus one of his best friends, who was trying to accept the fact that he had just given his sister to Snape.. but then there was Sirius as well, who looked as though he was going to have an emotion break down, and obviously there was Tori.. but she was fine now, as much as he hated to admit it, with Snape. Well, he needed to do something before he was just standing there not doing anything and looking like an idiot.

Holding Lily up wasn't very hard, but he was tired himself, and the longer he held her, the harder it got. Without saying a word to anyone, he left the Hospital Wing and started back down the corridor to the stairs. Once he was up them, he rounded the corner and soon he was at the Portrait. Shoot, he didn't remember the password. The Fat Lady was sleeping heavily. Lightly, he tapped on her frame with a finger and she stirred, still half asleep. "Could you let me in?" he asked. She obviously recognized him, or she didn't care who it was, because she didn't ask for the password and swung right open without saying a thing. He climbed through, trying to be as careful as he could with Lily, and went for the Girls steps. Oh, right. He couldn't go up there.

He went back towards the couches and sank into the one by the fire. James let go of Lily's legs and let them fall to one side of him, still on the couch, and still held the rest of her. He smiled and put a hand in her hair, stroking it gently. His eyelids were getting heavier by the second; he bent down slightly so he was right next to her, and kissed her forehead lightly. "I love you, Lily Evans," he whispered, before leaning his head back and closing his eyes completely.

Teresa watched as James left with Lily in his arms. She couldn't help but give a little smile as he watched the two leaving. After so many time they were finally together. And she was happy for it. She didn't know why but she had the impression that it would be forever. She truly hoped that she and Remus could also be together until the end of their days. She looked at him and said:
'We should go too, Remus. It's getting and Astoria might need some sleep'

Sirius sat behind, watching all the others leave, or became insanely tense once more with the new scenery that surrounded them. It would be true that, till the day they, well.. he died, he couldn't find it in his heart to thoroughly trust Severus Snape. Maybe it seemed selfish. Maybe it just seemed crude. But it did seem to him that Remus had that same edge too. Or maybe he was too busy with misty eyes to correctly read his friend right. He was becoming increasingly tired, but didn't want to leave Astoria like she was until he knew from words of her own that she would be alright. Maybe she had said it once before to him. Had she? He didn't know. Though he wanted to do so, he just couldn't make his limbs jump up and hug Astoria, or leave, or do rather much of anything.

They really felt heavy, like his heart. Which coming to conclusion he realized the next day he would repeatedly shun himself for almost becoming a crying baby.

With a gentle sigh, he watched as Evans and James left.. Teresa and Remus possibly next. Maybe the other two girls also? Maybe not. He knew that when he would want to stand and speak to her, he'd see the face of Snivellus Snape and become stricken with an innocent guilt, and a twisting putrid feeling in his stomach. It just wasn't safe for his little sister to be dating such a man. Dangerous really. Gut-wrenching and ridiculous. He had no say over who she dated, though he'd try to change her mind. But why him?

All this would stir through his mind and he closed his eyes and swallowed. Could he really tell Astoria he was sorry? No.. no.. yes.. wait-no. Cringing, he shook his head to himself. There was really no way. Yet now as he sat there, he planned out what he would in fact say to her.

He won. He won. He won. He was the champion. Snape was the champion. The champion who would keep on fighting until the end. Incomprehensible and infuriating as it was, it wasn't like Remus could do anything. He'd lost. Loser. Surrender your sister to the fanthomable love of the equally fanthomable greasy Slytherin.

"Yeah. You're right. It's late. We should go." He smiled weakly at Teresa as he turned away from watching Severus and Astoria embrace. "You're coming, right, Padfoot?" he added as he remembered his friend by the wall. He didn't say anything to Severus and Astoria; for all he knew Snape was going to camp out in the hospital wing with his sister. Or try and share her bed. Or something equally as disgusting.

"Ah.... well... night time calls." He waited for Teresa to follow him out of the wing and to the common room.

OoC: *pokes post* Yes. That's all I've got for you when I'm writing a paper for English and listening to a Queen cd at the same time.

Astoria looked up at Severus, happy once again. She smiled and gave him a look that told him she'd be back. She slipped out of his embrace and moved swiftly over to where her brother was waiting for Teresa. Without giving him any warning, she hugged him and whispered in his ear, "If he ever hurts me, you can hurt him. Until then, please believe me in this. I am happy with Severus, and I love you and the others too. Just in a different way."

She moved away and smiled before running to Sirius and hugging him. "You have been so quiet, my brother. What is wrong? Are you not happy that I am happy? Do I not have your consent, although you see how happy this man makes me? House does not matter Siri, for your whole family have been from Slytherin." She whispered in his ear. This time she stayed in the embrace longer.

'Good night everyone!' Teresa waved at all the people who were in there before turning to Astoria and adding 'If you need me, just call, okay?' She winked and smiled at her friend and walked to Remus. She looked at his face, not smiling as much as before but still with a little sweet smile which told him not to worry. She grabbed his hand and walked with him out of the Hospital Wing. She was not worried about Tori, alright, maybe quite a bit, she was worried with Remus. She knew he felt that everything was wrong. She could see it in his eyes. She felt that way too, not as much as him but still a bit. The difference between the two was that she remembered that Astoria couldn't just chose who she loved. In a way, it would be much easier for most people to make it that way but it was simply impossible.
