As he waved his wand in the direction of the door, it carefully and slowly began to open, just in case someone was leaning against it. The moment was almost perfect except for the fact of being in the girls bathroom, but whatever it took and no matter how hard he tried, his life with Lily was turned completely upside-down and heading in the right direction, at least it seemed to him.

Nothing could spoil the moment of true love for him, nothing. And the smile upon his face, well, it was a permanent fixture for the time being.

This young woman is absolutely beautiful, he thought to himself as he looked dreamingly in her direction, smile and all, while listening to her speak of their detention. "Yes! Why didn't you?" he spoke as his grin turned into a crooked and sly smile.

Not realizing the utter chaos that was going on outside the bathroom door, James reached for the door knob and fully extended the door open.

"What in Merlin's beard is going on?" he questioned as he looked to a group of students gathered outside the door.

Erica gave a small laugh, knowing exactly that the famous player from Gryffindor was flirting with her. "Well, considering the lack of acceptable boys from Slytherin, I just may have to take you up on that offer." She joked, and gave him a sly smile, knowing that if her Slytherin friends heard her, she probably would be exiled from the group.

Turning to look at the other people who were standing there, she noticed one of the girls make a face at what she said. Stopping the urge for herself to roll her own eyes, she turned back to Sirius and looked into his grey eyes. Realizing, the boy in front of her hadn't started a fight with her made her wonder if the Gryffindor's were really as mean as the Slytherins had made them to be. Sure, she had seen the fights between the two houses but looking in Sirius's face made her wonder if they hadn't provoked each other in all the fights, would there be peace among the two?

Jackie was shocked. She had guessed that James was behind the bathroom door, but had immediately pushed the thought away. Jackie thought James wouldn't sink this low, but he did.

"What was going on in there?" she said, eying James with obvious disgust. She was just barely holding back a fist. Jackie's eyes were like storm clouds, you could almost see the lightning flashing.

Remus let out a small chuckle "Ofcourse she didn't. Neither would I attempt to, but don't worry she will soon". He straightened up then took a few steps towards Sirius, he poked his chest with his index finger and said "I think your gone a bit rough. The answer is perhaps in front of you, but what sort of candidates are you looking for this year?" he added a query in interest. "Its not that, its just difficult to determine which is more appropriate", he raised an eyebrow in bafflement and began pacing around Peter.

"Not quite sure, Better be done soon" he whispered and continued to study Peter, since he seemed the best option for the time being.

Remus lowered himself to get a better peak at Peter's face, it was rather rapidly changing. Great mood swings that kid have got, "Peter" he said trying to keep his voice down as to not attract attention "aren't you hungry? its waaaay past lunchtime", maybe introducing a new subject would get his attention to full consciousness.



Remus simply shrugged as a fellow Gryffindor appeared and asked questions, he was in no position to lie nor to say the truth and the situation was or have gotten more awkward than reversible.


Remus stole glances from Sirius and Ali, curious as to know what her next move was. And why was this bathroom was suddenly so interesting for the female body in the school, it was simply isolated. He shot Sirius a 'we are screwed' look and glanced back at Peter.



Remus returned Sirius's look with a worried one and glanced between the two girls, they seemed to be multiplying. Since Sirius was handling both girls rather superbly, he fixed his attention on poking Peter's cheeks in frustration, maybe if he woke up everything would change.



Soon he heard a crack from the door, apparently they were done. Remus glanced at the girl that seemed to take some sort of a rant at James, he rubbed his forehead, too much chaos to handle in less than hour with too many witnesses. He glanced at Sirius then muttered a nonverbal spell while flicking his wand behind his back causing the entire hallways to go pitch black, not even standard lumus charm would allow anyone to see more than a few inches ahead of them.

When Tess finally spoke, Amy blinked once and then gave a nervous cough. She slapped him and ran away? Oh dear. Amy could see that she was going to have to do some sort of damage control here in order to fix everything. Mentally berating Tess for her actions, Amy slowly shook her head and gently hugged her friend. "It's okay Tess. I know that you think your actions were incredibly stupid and you're wondering what everyone will think, but don't worry about it. Everyone has a bad day. I do think that you need to speak to Sirius though."

She was about to continue when she suddenly found herself in pitch darkness. Gasping quietly at the momentary loss of sight, she pulled out her wand and muttered Lumos, watching as the tip of her wand lit up. Unfortunately, she couldn't see very far. "What on earth?" She muttered, wondering who was the culprit behind the sudden darkness.

OOC; yeah, she did, only that she wrote Serena in stead of Erica.

BIC:

Diabelle eyed him, then smiled faintly. 'Being in my senior year, I asked for a special permit...so that I could study for the final exams, of course.' She smiled a bit wider, looking at him in a way that said that perhaps the final exams were not exactly the objective. 'Plus, having influential friends can make quite a difference in these sort of matters.' Diabelle added, looking at Lucius and taking a sip of water.

Lucius, aloofly searching something in the distant corners of the room suddenly turned towards Regulus and asked:

'Who do you think should have the honour of having me as her ball partner this year?' he asked so casually, that Diabelle shook her head slightly, looking down at her glass. Lucius was lightly playing with a strand of his own hair, looking from Regulus to the girls in the Great Hall and back. 'You should try getting the girl your brother is most likely to take to the ball.' Lucius opinionated just as suddenly, his icy eyes resting on Regulus, his hand no longer playing with his shiny hair. 'It should be interesting seeing you beat him in the department that he sees himself preziding.' Lucius smirked.'Imagine his face...'

As two 6th year Ravenclaw girls passed by, Lucius turned his head sideways, in sign of apreciation. One girl stopped for a second, holding on tighter to her books, then her friend pushed her from behind and she rushed out, head down, as if out of breath. Lucius smiled to himself, gently pushing aside a glass of pumpkin juice that spilled onto the tablecloth.

'I never did like Dumbledore's idea of whats good for you.' he thought out loud.

Peter's mind was racing, as in his dream he was running as full as the fat boy could run, away from Fay. his face wasn't so terrified anymore, and a little bit of drool appeared at the corner of his mouth as his semi-conscious mind heard the subject of food. immediately his dream changed so that Fay fell into a deep, dark bottomless black pit and he was eating a burger. he mumbled something, "boogoo youm" which, in his mind, was "burger yum". Peter's face was still fairly red in the cheeks and white all over, his fever hadn't gone down any, but he was becoming more lucid.

Ali raised her eyebrows at Remus, who seemed to know something and yet wasn't willing to say it. she looked in the direction his eyes were and surpressed a laugh, Peter. of course it was peter, the laughable boy was hovering, mumbling and drooling in the middle of the hallway. she smiled, let out a small laugh, and shook her head amusedly. Remus now made her lean against the wall and have to wipe her eyes, adding him poking Peter's cheeks to the picture. "oh geez," she said, wondering why she liked these boys.

Peter's eyes blinked open, and a blurry Remus finger was the first thing he saw. attempting to wave his hands and prevent the finger from getting him, even tho, at this moment, the finger wasn't even that close (but lets just say the fever messed with his depth perception). Peter waved his hands in circles and back and forth quickly trying to slap Remus's hands away and keep himself from falling just made him wiggle around all funny in the air. he didn't know he was hovering, and for all he knew, he was falling to the floor in slow motion.

Ali turned to the sound of an opening door, and grinned. turning to Sirius she stuck out her tongue, as if to say, "i was right," and she spoke, "i think we'd all like to know the same thing!" Seeing Lily with him, her mouth fell open, Lily didn't look hurt at all, "are you okay!?" she asked urgently, afriad that James had put a spell on her or something. she began to take a few steps forward when it went dark.

she stumbled forward, having been walking at the time, and tripped over, well she didn't know what. releasing a small squeal from her mouth she tripped and flew forward, not hitting the wall, but she was stopped by running into someone's chest. she guessed it was Sirius based on the fact that he was in about this area before the lights went out, but wasn't completely sure. she wasn't even completely sure that it was a guy, she just hoped so, because she was now clinging to their shirt collar with both hands to keep herself from falling over. Ali's footing was poor and if she let go she would definitely just tip right over and land on the floor. she would now have to struggle to get her composure back, and only hoped that whoever it was didn't know it was her.

Peter's eyes had been struggling to focus again now that he was awake again, but now they were struggling to re-focus, this time to the darkness. "whas goonaa??!!!!" he cried, fairly loudly, still trying to compose a sensible sentence that someone other than himself could understand. Peter was now sure of it, he was laying down, and too numb to feel the hard floor. "Seeus," he called, "Remoose? Jays? Soo moon?" he whined, wishing someone would come help him up, completely unknowing that he was up, just hovering. "Paidfoot? Moony? Pongs? Moomy!?" he called again, getting scared. everything was dark, and what he could make out as bits of light or shapes were all blurred.

Teresa looked straight into Amy's eyes knowing her friend was disappointed with her, but she couldn't blame Amy, could she? She had indeed done the worst thing she could have ever done. As she felt her friend's arms around her, she felt a little bit better but not as much as she wished she had.

'They were' She said about her actions. In fact, stupid was not enough to describe them. 'Talk to Sirius?' She repeated, freezing inside. She knew she had to talk to him sooner or later but the mere thought of it was scary. How would she look at him and hear his voice knowing what she had done? He probably hated her now that she had been more than a coward. 'How?' She asked softly, her eyes back on her hands.

Suddenly, everything went dark and the sadness that fullfilled her seemed to have disappeared at once as frighten invaded her. 'What the-?' She gasped. By her side, she could hear Amy muttering 'Lumos' and yet nothing happened. Perhaps her wand had some sort of trouble? She took off her pocket her own wand and tried to light her wand but nothing happened as well. 'We either have gone blind or something's happening' She whispered rather calmly as she stood up, always guided by the wall. Once she was on her feet, she searched for Amy's hand to help her getting up as well.

Sirius smiled bemusedly at his friend poking him in the chest. He shook his head lightly, dismissing the possibility that he might have been 'losing his touch'. It was simply out of the question as far as he knew. "In front of me, you say?" and he cast a quick and undetermined look towards Erica. "And I don't know, mate. I just..." he turned to Remus and looked him in the eye. "Ah, forget it!" he laughed to himself, winking at the boy and glancing at Erica somewhat meditatively.

Liking what he was hearing, Sirius drew a little nearer. He arched an eyebrow adventurously and started fidgeting with his collar, his movements very natural, yet at the same time revealing some hint of hidden intentions. "What's keeping you, then?" he ventured to ask, wondering if she was going to play along. Some distant corner of his mind told him she might even be serious about what she said, but his ego could not get ahead of himself this time. She was a Slytherin, after all.


But before Sirius could move a muscle, his vision darkened. For a moment, he stood still, suspecting an ambush or in any case a trick someone was trying to play at them. He was rather far from both James, who had just gotten out with Lily, and Remus, who had gotten closer to Peter. His eyes slowly accomodated themselves to the darkness. His wand... where was his wand? He dug deeper into his pockets, and as he was rummaging, someone stumbled upon him, almost knocking him out of balance. "Steady on!" he shrieked, as he was trying to make the person release the grip they had on his collar. It wasn't an easy task, though, and Sirius tried to take a step backwards, in hope that he would be freed. Since that didn't happen, he thought it best to come to his own aid, which was the wisest thing to do, regardless.

Slowly placing his hands on Alanna's hands, he helped her straighten up. At least it was a girl, Sirius' conscience sighed in relief, as he was still feeling the smoothness of her palms. "You can let go now..." he said, gently nudging her to let go of his collar.

Lily couldn't help but release a small giggle at what James said. Looking over at him she gave him a shy smile before looking ahead once again. She couldn't believe what had just happened. The measures he had just taken to ask her to a simple school dance was unbelievable. Maybe he really did care for her? The fact that she was still questioning his feelings towards her was a bit ridiculous. But she was a girl and she was still weary.

Lily watched as James opened the door. She was surprised to see a rather large group of students assembled outside the door. Letting go of James' arm, Lily reached for her head and gave it a scratch. This was all confusing. Looking over at James she gave him a curious look.

Had they all been eavesdropping on their conversation? Was this all a gag, and Lily was going to be the butt of the joke? She was more perplexed now than ever, and she was beginning to wonder if her accepting his invitation was a mistake.

Her attention from James was diverted when she heard a familiar voice address her. Looking over she saw Ali. Lily gave her friend a faint smile, when she inquired about her well being. "Yes Ali I'm quite alright thank you." She and Ali would defiantly have to have a chat later. Once she could get away from James and his gang.

About to make her way towards Ali, Lily stopped abruptly when the lights suddenly went out. Everything went dark and Lily didn't understand why. It had to have been conjured up by someone but by whom, she didn't know. Most likely James.

As she stepped back her arm brushed up against James'. Lily held onto the door frame, and tried to feel around. About to venture off into the hall, she felt it would be best to just stay put. The last thing she wanted was to trip and fall on someone.

With a shocking look on his face, James quickly turned in the question girls direction. He completely forgot about being locked behind the doors of the girls bathroom and was not expecting such a large crowd, eventhough it always happened when Sirius was around.

But before he could answer Jackie, darkness filled the hallway and he could not see two feet in front of him. Taking a large and deep breath, he stood still not wanting to move in the wrong direction.

James rolled his eyes in the dark as he heard Peter slur his words. "Jays is here," he chuckled in Peter's direction and turned his head. "Seeus? I see your fan club is still running," he laughed once more, speaking of the females he noticed around them as he and Lily walked out of the bathroom, but his smile faded quickly as he felt Lily let go of his arm.



James felt Lily's brush up against him and hoped she did not move very far. "Lily, stay next to me until the lights come back on," he whispered in her direction. "Who turned the lights off anyway?" he whispered loudly as he turned his head around towards the others.

Holding his hands out, he felt the wall to his right while the door to the bathroom remained behind. "Lily, come this way," he spoke lightly as he reached out his hand trying to feel her's. He wanted to make sure she was safe from any harm, especially not knowing why sudden darkness fell upon them.

Having spent more than enough time waiting on the boys, McGonagall made her way down the hallway with a limp and her cane. "They should be here by now and if I find any hanky panky going on once more with those boys, I swear I-" she spoke loudly to herself but quickly cut herself off as darkness filled the hallway.

"What is going on?" she spoke as she made her way hopefully towards a wall, her hands extended. "There you are," she said taking hold of the wall. As she continued her walk, her hands were guilding, feeling each step of the way.

As she walked blindly in the dark, she came upon a few voices in the hallway. Recognizing a loud whisper, steam began to pour from her ears. "JAMES POTTER!" she screamed as she let go of the wall and walked in the direction of the voice. "OUCH!" she cried as her cane landed on her foot, causing her to stumble to the floor. With a loud clanging noise, McGonagall sat on the floor with her legs in front of her, rolling her eyes.

"Will someone turn on a LIGHT!" Her patients quickly disappeared. "JAMES POTTER YOU BETTER NOT BE BEHIND THIS!"

"Oh no," James spoke as his head landed in his hands.

Looking in the direction of James' voice, Lily began to feel her way over to him. She was mostly touching air, but for some odd reason, that made her feel more confident in where she was going.

After a few moments of dead air, she felt her hand touch something. Feeling it with the tips of her fingers she could feel it was James' hand. Taking hold of it, she safely made her way over to him.

Lily was about to speak when she heard an angered voice. Her eyes widened and she began to look every which way. Not that it helped any, it was dark.

She recognized the voice as that of Professor McGonagall. Lily rolled her eyes, and was a bit irritated that McGonagall could so quickly assume that James was behind the darkness that had over taken the halls. Of course he was a trouble maker, and he did always seem to get into mischief, but he had friends who were just as bad as he was. Lily herself felt a bit guilty though, she like McGonagall had suspected James as the culprit of the dark halls.

She bit her lip and gently squeezed James hand before letting go. Leaning in towards him she whispered, "You better get out of here! If you boys are caught here you'll be in detention until graduation." she gently nudged his arm, just to make sure he heard what she said.
