"Raine smiled, "Yeah but normally they would tell--" She stopped herself before she said too much veryone who knew her knew that she hung out with James and Sirius a lot. She took a few more sipps but decided it was better she not, there was no telling what it was spiked with.

Deven smiled akwardly. "Well I don't know I guess its kinda cool but I think its totally lame that we dont know who we're with untill midnight..." he trailed off. A faster sont came on, Raine, a few years back made him take a hip hop class with her so he could dance.

Emma nodded, happy that she could dance to a faster beat. Smiles sweetly, dark blue eyes gleaming as she dances her heart out.

" I suppose, but it's kind of more surprising and more exciting if we wait to find out at midnight."

Emma looked at her mystery date surpised that he could actually dance well to a faster tempo like the one that they were dancing to.

" How did you learn to dance so well?"

Carolina remained motionless in his arms, gazing over her shoulder to stare down at the floor, as she listened quietly to what Heathe was saying. Did she honestly misunderstood what he was trying to say...? This thought caused her to glance over at her date from the corner of her eyes, catching his own eyes for just that moment.

The word, Cheri, was repeated twice in her mind as she listened silently to Heathe, causing her to blink. French...Heathe knew some french...and how he said it...so softly...She couldn´t help but take another glance of Heathe from the floor.

That was when his last few sentences made her stare. She actually almost lost her breath. He still wanted her...He was hers...And just when Carolina opened her mouth to speak, he kissed her. She practically melted.

"I...am....very sorry mon amour...I just thought- I...."

She pleaded, breaking the kiss as she wrapped her arms around his neck. She then shook her head and broke the stare as she hide her face against his neck.

"Take me back please....I don´t want to leave you...I don´t..."

Carolina muttered against his skin.

Sirius turned away and grinned. He would chuckle then if he could, but knew he would loose his composure and give himself away. It was, after all, James and his favorite. Of course, it was all too easy, so maybe James didn't do it and someone else did? He doubted that very much and turned back to take a cup himself, thoroughly enjoying such a welcomed drink for the night. Fit in perfectly.

Raine sighed in releif hoping he didn't catch her slip up. What time was it anyway she wondered. She shrugged and decided that she didn't feel like looking. Noticing that he didn't talk much other than when they were dancing she said, "Not much of a talker are you?"

Emma smiled happily. She was very pleased to have a sweet date, not to mention that he was a great dancer as well.

" Well I'm glad I didn't get stuck with some terrible dancer and I got a brilliant dancer instead."

He wasn't at all sure what he could do to follow that act, and then remembered what one of the main points of the masquerade was- dancing. Remus didn't exactly dance much, but of course he would try to make it enjoyable. "Would you... like to dance?" he asked Satine.

Sirius grinned broadly at his 'date' and just shook his head, taking in the moment, and glancing at the clock himself. Time was ticking soo slowly.. and the real party hadn't even started yet! Back to Raine with a relaxed smile and in charrie posture he answered, "Ah.. not at the moment. Just enjoying it all while it lasts." With a pause he thought carefully. "Are you not having any fun my dear Princess?"

"Oh no! That is not what I mean at all!" Rain said slightly panicked sorry she made him think that. She was having a great time. She looked at the clock it read 10:30. "I guess maybe I'm just a chatter box..." she realized there wasnt really much to talk about with out giving away who they really were.

Devan's ears turned pink. "Umm thanks... " he said. "To tell the truth I am too, but most girls can dance." he smiled, and a slow song came on.

" Well actually I'm a dancer, or I use to be one before I came to Hogwarts. When I go home for the summer I take lessons until I have to come back here again."

The music slowed down and she realized that a slow song had come on. She put her hands on top of his shoulders and swayed gently with the music.

Raine blushed, which you could probably see, where the mask was not covering it. She though about him being in character, it was hard for her because she was so unlike Cinderella.

Devan rested his hands on her hips and took the mead, gentaly swaying with the soft mellow beat of the music.

The minutes passed, the hours slipped away like sand, and before Remus knew it, Dumbledore was announcing that it was just a few minutes until midnight, the time when everyone would unmask and find out who their partner was.

Remus had had a wonderful time that night. No... he hadn't ever found Tena, but Satine had proved herself not only to be a fellow Moulin Rouge fan, but to also be quite smart, funny, and quite a nice person. He wondered if perhaps after this they would be able to continue what seemed like was going to be a nice friendship. But who knew? After the unmasking, what if everything changed?

He looked back at Satine, again feeling the new strange happy feeling in his stomach that had began a few hours ago. "The night went really fast," he commented.

Tena nodded as she sighed when Dumbledore finished his announcement. She looked up at Remus and smiled. This was it. He would finally know that she was his partner, but what if he hoped it was somebody else? What he was upset with her, for not telling him it was her? What would happen?

All of these thoughts played in her head as she thought of a sensible comment to say. "I wish it hadn't." She said quietly. Looking around the hall. The night and gone wonderfully, better than she could ever of hoped. The best part, being that she had gotten to spend the whole night with Remus, and Sirius and James hadn't interfered once. She smiled and him and gave him a hug. "It has been a wonderful evening thank you." She stepped away. "And if you are not too disappointed by the un-masking, perhaps we can spend the last hour together."

Heathe slowly finished the dance with his girlfriend and moved to the refreshment table. "They night has gone far to quickly my love. Although time flys when you are having fun, and soars when you arn't even thinking about it." He looked towards her and kissed her lightly. "I am presumming the last hour of the dance, will me mine, to dance with my un-masked girl-friend."

Vanessa looked at the boy who sat next to her. Mark Antony. Who was behind the mask of the man who had accompanied her for the last four and a half hours. She thought the hours would drag, but she had enjoyed herself. Amazed at this, as she shouldn't of been. She turned to her partner. "Accompany me in one more masked dance?" She asked before the music came on, she sighed as it was the music for a slow song.

Before she knew it it was 5 minutes until Misnight. Raine looked at her Prince and motioned to the clock. "I believe that it is almost time to reveal ourselves..." she smiled trying to talk still in character.

Devan also saw the time. "Hey Sandy look at the clock!" he said trying to talk like Danny.
