OoC: Yes, of course. I'll start! Just something I came up with now, kind of bad, but it's a beginning.

Remus Lupin sat along the bench at the Gryffindor table by his friends, stunned at what Dumbledore just said. Had Dumbledore actually announced that there was going to be a masquerade ball? He'd never done anything of the sort before, and it seemed a little bit silly, though he trusted James and Sirius would find it most amusing. And everyone was getting assigned their partners by little pieces of paper with the names of famous couples? That seemed a little mean. What if someone who happened to absolutely detest him got paired up with him? The night would hardly be enjoyable for them, and it probably wouldn't be enjoyable for him either. After all, Remus didn't want to have to end up as someone's partner if they didn't want him. Well, you couldn't say Dumbledore wasn't original. Nor could you say that the year wasn't going to be an interesting one.

Nah, we don't all have the same time zones.

Heathe Malfoy sighed as Dumbledore finished the annoucements. He looked around the hall and saw the looks of joy in his fellow pupil's eyes. He turned towards his best friend Mark and muttered, "Pathetic. There is only one girl I will go with. If it isn't her I get paired with," Not that anybody would turn him down, "I will be returning to our dorms." Heathe looked further up the Slytherin table and found the girl that had his affections. Lina.

Tena grinned as Dumbledore finished talking and turned towards her friend Lily."I can't believe it! This will be so much fun! I can't believe we won't know who we are going with until the night. Oh, I do so hope I end up with one of the nicer boys." She grinned and flushedasshestolea glance at Sirius and Remus. "Either of them Lil. I'm hoping."

Mark began to play with a fork as he replied, almost muttering.

"Honestly, I hate when they do this. Can't we just go and pick our dates ourselves?"

He sighed, dropped the fork and twisted in his seat to face his friend.

He heard the words "Ball" come out of Dumbledores mouth. "Great, another ball I won't be invited to go to, I guess I can try to do my homework," Peter thought sitting up.

Heathe grinned at Mark as he too mumbled to himself. "Nobody is as hot as Lina mate, accept it." He muttered back before she turned and spoke to the pair. "I guess it'll be ok, as long as you get placed with somebody that you can stand or want to go with." He answered with a slight grin on his face. "How did Dumbledore say we would pick our partners?"
