"Not if you don't want to be" I explained. We sat not talking for a moment, I missed not fighting with her and it felt good just to be sitting with her again. "Sorry about Ephram, I'm not doing it to hurt you" I explained.
"Then why are you that way?" She asked, not angry, more interested.
"You know why I am" I sighed, giving a smile and a shrug. She seemed to watch me for a few seconds. "Look, I know you're with Ephram now, but if anything happens then you can come to me for help. Don't run away because we all care if you live or die... just lets not keep secrets" I smiled at her again.
"Stevie!" Said a voice behind me, I turned to see Kira and B walking over to us.

"hey" I said with a small smile. I turned my attention back to Will. Just then Ephram appeared with my soda. "Thanks" I said and took a sip. "No Prob" He answered.

I stepped back, surprised as Ephram appeared with the soda. I grabbed the bookshelf and laughed remembering the last time Ephram had walked into the room in the hospital and I had nearly fallen over.
I pulled Stevie into a hug, then stepped aside, moving out of the way so B might hug her but instead I stood there and watched as B and Stevie looked at eachother. I cleared my throat and raised my eyebrows looking from Will to Ephram.

I caught Kira's eye, I had been distracted by Ephram's sudden re-appearance that I hadn't noticed the small tension between Stevie and Birgit. It seemed to be a short moment of silence as we all stood there.
"Uh--" I started, everyone looked at me instantly "So... Do you all want to go down to the lake or something?" Kira rolled her eyes at me, it was the best I could think of. "I mean, there are some row boats down there, we could go for a nice afternoon row." They all remained staring at me. "Or we could stand here and pretend that we all arn't completly awkard? Its up to you!".

"You can all go, I will go find Alex!" I said, turning my glare from Stevie to Ephram for a second. Then looked at Will for a second. "Excuse me!" I said, walking out of the library. I felt very rude, but I really didn't want to make up with Stevie. She has made too many mistakes in my eyes, that I just couldn't forgive her that easy. If she comes to her sences, then I'll think about it. Plus she still dind't believe me about Ephrams death...

I watched B as she walked out the Library. We followed her out and watched her walk down the Hall leading to the Dungeons, where the Slytherin Common Room was. I watched Will bite his lip.
"A row sounds okay, I guess," I smiled trying to lighten the mood a bit, as the four of us began to walk off the school grounds over to the lake.

"You know im not really into rowing" I said taking Ephrams hand. I suddenly felt scared, young, I didnt want to be with anyone, I needed a parental figure, but there was nothing but Ephram.

I had stepped into the boat when Stevie had said that, and they had now turned and were heading back to the castle. I sat down in the boat and stared at my feet. Kira was sitting opposite watching.
"Guess it's just the two of us" I sighed, leaning over to the rows and pushing off the shore. Kira was leaning over, staring into the lake. "Remember last time you and Stevie went out here, the giant squid attacked".
"Lets hope that doesn't happen again" She said laughing. We rowed out for a while until the figures on the shore where blurred figures. Then I looked up towards the mountains, the amazing sunset was releasing a mixture of red and orange into the sky, that was streaked with clouds, the cool night sky slowly dissolving behind us.
"I wouldn't want to be anywhere else right now" I said to her smiling "This is pretty amazing..."

My ears went slightly red.
"Oh, yeah, the sunset," I stopped rowing for a second as the boat stopped and I looked out across the mountains to it, down to the ripples in the lake, then back to Will.
"We should start heading back then, I guess," I smiled.

Ephram and I were sitting in the Great Hall, not realising I was still clinging to Ephram. "So now what?" he asked. "What do you mean?" I asked. "Well, we wernt' going to go to school here anymore, are we stillgoing to?" He asked. I looked away, I didnt want to think about it anymore.

"I just don't know her anymore!" I said to Alex who was sitting on the floor by a wall while I was walking back and fourth down the hallway. "I don't know if I want to know her anymore..." I added.
"Please stop the circling! I'm getting sick..." Alex said, looking up at me.
"Sorry... I said and sat down nwxt to him, resting my head on his lap. "She's just so not her anymore. And I don't like the new Stevie. The new Stevie and the ole Birgit just don't mix. That's why we have war!" I said, looking up to his eyes as he was playing with my hair. "I don't know what I'd do if someone told me you were going to die." I said. "And she thinks I'm playing a joke!" Alex just sighed.

I was dissapointed that Kira wanted to head back so soon, but I agreed as it was getting a little bit cold with the night. Winter wasn't too far away either.
"You look cold" I told her "Want my jacket?" She looked up and shook her head. I turned away and stared into the water, I could hardly make out anything, but as we headed towards the shore little rocks and such became visable. When we hit the shore I jumped out and pulled the row-boat in.
We both looked to the row-boat next to us, Alicia Finnagan and her boyfriend in Ravenclaw where getting out. He held out his hand and helped her down, she kissed him on the cheek and began to head back to the castle.
I looked at Kira and held my hand out jokingly to help her step down. She took it and I helped her reach the shore. We both waited for a moment,
"Arn't we meant to kiss now?" then started laughing. "Come on, lets go see if the damage has repaired itself" I said, referring to Stevie and B.

"Well?" Ephram asked. "I dont know" I said. "I'm irratated at B, but I dont know if it's enough to leave, and well I'm sure war will break out again with Will and Kira, they just dont like who i am now, who im meant to be" I said. "Thats right Stevie, you need to tell them about yourself, who you are, your family, all of them, not just Will" Epham said and wrapped his arms around me.

Kira and I walked into the Great Hall and spotted Ephram and Stevie sitting at the Gryffindor table, near the end, they where hugging and she looked troubled. I glanced over at Kira, then shrugged. We both headed over.
"Hey" I said to both of them, taking a seat opposite them. "Talked to B, yet?"
"No" Stevie replied, "I'm not sure if I want to". I leaned over and grabbed an apple, shaking my head.
"Stevie, you are in this situation because you are so alike. Do you honestly even remember why you two are near hating each other?" I asked, biting into the apple. "Look, I know she can be a little stubborn sometimes, but you can be too. I think you can be the bigger one, just swallow your pride and do whats in your heart. Harry didn't raise you to not show the pride of Gryffindor proudly". It was now that I relied both Ephram and Stevie had fallen quiet. "He's still your father Stevie, like I said, if it was just about blood then I wouldn't be who I am today... Your parents arn't who give birth to you, they are the ones who give you unrequieted love".

"Will you find B for me?" I asked. "I want to talk to all three of you" I said. "In the common room" I said and stood up, "I'll be there waiitng" I said and grabbd my bad heading upstairs.

I watched as Stevie walked off, I sat alone with Kira and Ephram. I looked to Kira and said in a low voice,
"You go find B, she should be with Alex. I'll be up in a second," I told her. She left soon after and I turned my attention to Ephram. We sat awkardly for a moment.
"You should go see Stevie" He told me.
"I know, I'll go in a second" I assured him, then took a deep breath. "Look, can you not give Stevie a hard time about leaving school? I know you want to be with her, but we all want to be with her. It's just that she needs to be here, this is where she belongs and what she has to do." I held out my hand. "We okay?"
"Yeah" He said and shook my hand. I didn't know if he meant it, but I did and thats all that mattered to me. I got up and headed to the common room.

I sat up in the chair by the fire. Ephram walked through the portrait hole. "Will was talking to me" He said. "About?" I asked. "Im not sure what he meant, so I dont really want to discuss it" Ephram said and sat down. "Stevie, what do you plan on telling them?" Ephram asked as he layed his head in my lap. "Everything" I said and ran my fingers through his brown hair. Just then Will walked through the portrait hole with B and Kira, Ephram said up, I sat a little straighter and they all took a seat.

I looked from Kira to B, then over at Ephram and Stevie sitting down, I took the first step and sat down on the large red couch facing them, the two girls followed. I looked up at her, she seemed to be more nervous then I had seen her, the firelight reflecting her light hair to a reddish color.
"Whats going on Stevie?" I asked, then my stomach dropped "You're not pregnant are you?" They both exchanged a quick glance.
"No!" She said, laughing slightly.
"Well, then whats so important? Is this about your brother or something?" I asked, the nervous feeling in the pit of my stomach moved around.

My stomach was tied in knots, "Will, I know you have some idea of what's going on, but the rest of you need to know. I found out earlier this year that I was adopted. My birth name is Michelle Gendron. My parents were killed, but I still have a brother named Bradin. He's older than me, and lives in the states." I paused for a moment.

I sat back and looked at Kira and B, just to see how they would react to this news, it came as a huge shock to me at first. They both seemed slightly stunned to hear this, and I put a comforting arm around Kira.
"But, you use to have messy hair, and green eyes, you looked just like your father!" Kira said, covering her mouth. I looked at Stevie and said,
"It isn't completly insane to suggest that an appearence-altering charm was used. Sometimes adopting parents can alter features using an advanced charm, maybe Harry used this..." I shrugged. "Clearly Harry didn't want you finding out you weren't his biological daughter. I don't think anyone else knew either. When I told my mother she was quiet angry and shocked".
"You told Hermione?" Stevie asked, not too happy.
"Well, I wanted to know if anyone knew this. And if my mother didn't know then Ron didn't know, and if his two best friends didn't know then I don't think it was general knowledge. The point is that you are still the same person to us. You are still Stephanie Potter, not Michelle Gendron, no matter what happens. Is that right?" I looked over at both the girls, too shocked to reply.

"The point is that I am not a POtter as you all thought, and i dont want to be anymore" I said.

I looked up from the ground, I kept waiting for the moment everyone was about to start laughing and tell me it was all a joke. But this wasn't my Uncles or my family, bloody ****, this wasn't even Stevie, this was... Michelle Gendron.
I gripped Will's hand, and looked at him, he had always known everything, was it really true?

"Anyway, I've got pictures and stuff, There's even videos. I guess I was somewhat of a dancer when I was three. Thats how old I was when they died" I said to The four of them.

I felt Kira squeezing my hand tightly, I could tell she was very, very far out of her comfort zone. No one liked this, it was turning our reality over, it was toying with our lives and out emotions.
"Stevie, you may resent being a Potter right now, but the truth is that one day you are going to relise that Harry and Jennifer raised and loved you dearly. Maybe when you are a mother you might see the love, that amazing parental bond." I was saying "But if you don't want to be a Potter now, that's okay, we are here for you still. "This is a time of growth and discovery... maybe we should all head to bed? It's getting late and we have defense against the dark arts first thing tomorrow..."

I nodded to what Will had said, "Yeah," was all I could say to show my agreement, still in shock. It never would have mattered to me so much if Stevie wasn't a Potter, but the fact she didn't want to be one and how much she had changed had really just hit me.
I let go of Will's hand standing up, "Good night," I ran a hand through my red hair, stressed out, walking up to the Girls Dorms.
