Looking at him dazed still, she registered the words Severus was uttering out of his mouth. Blurige. She had to make fun of him later when she got over the fact that he was here all night with her when he had just met her. Opening her mouth, she attempted to pull her pillow to an upright position so she could sit up. Finally succeeding, her arms felt like lead to her, she leaned back and looked at him.

"I'm fine...." She said quietly, knowing she would be in pain for a while even after she got out of the Hospital wing. Surveying him, she casted her eyes everywhere to see if he had been injured. "What about you?" She said urgently. Hoping he wasn't. She felt stupid. She felt useless not being able to stand up for Severus and than... landing herself in the hospital wing. "Please don't tell me you're hurt too."

'I dont know your the smart one you decide and pick a time no one will follow us' Remus whisperd.

'Good.' Lily said, mainly to herself. 'Anyway, Livvy, homework's what gets you where you need to go. It counts towards some of your grades.' she said, as she tilted her head back as if to sleep. The food Hogwarts supplied was enough to tire out anybody.

Peter half nodded. 'Twelve?' he said, meaning not to sound too scared, but at the same time sounding slightly scared. 'O . . . okay.' he nodded, swallowing hard.

Livvy waved her hand in the air, "Go ahead, I'm too lazy to move." she said, becoming more comfortable in her seat.

Severus helped her move up into a sitting position, his hand lightly brushing her cheek as he did so, he pulled his hand back quickly, blushing. He looked into her eyes then, they were so deep he got lost in them. He was only just registering the fact that he had a friend who would stand up for him, enough to end up in the hospital wing.

He snapped out of his 'trance' to find her gazing at him, "I'm fine, really Serena. Nothing happened..." He trailed off, an echo of the feelings he's felt earlier etched on his face, "...to me." He smiled weakly at her, "I'm not hurt at all..."

A hand brushed across her cheek. Feeling herself turn slightly red after making eye contact with him, she looked away and stared at the metal bars at the end of her hospital bed. Hoping the red stain on her cheeks would fade... and quickly, she listened to Severus reply.

Hearing he was not injured in anyways, she smiled widely. "That's good." She said quietly. Seeing her wand on the side desk beside her, she was reassured that she still had it. Suddenly it hit her, the note! With difficultly, she rummaged in her robe pockets, praying, hoping it was still there. Feeling the small corner of the parchment nip her finger, she smiled in relief. Pulling it out, she looked at Severus. "Can I read it now?" She asked.

Opening it slowly and listening to the crinkle of the parchment as she unfolded it, she smoothed it out against her lap. The piece of paper revealed a simple question. A yes or no question. Looking at him, she smiled. “Of course. Did you even have to ask?” She said, hoping to confirm the fact that they were now friends.

I think I could have killed Delius..." he was suddenly very alert, "I'm gonna get put in Azkaban..." His voice caught, holding back a sob, "He could be dead..."

Sitting up quickly, she paled visibly as the pain shot through her head but there were more worrying matters. “What do you mean?” She asked. “You killed him?” She asked in shock. “No. That can’t be. No. No. Madame Goodkey probably fixed him up.” Serena said in denial. The last thing she wanted was Severus to land in Azkaban because of her.

Severus smiled at her answer to his note, he felt his bubble burst though, once he thought about Delius.

"Oh, God! I can't have used..." Severus shook his head, "I.. I used Dark Magic." He trembled with fear, his eyes darting around the Hospital Wing beds, looking for a life-less body, "I used... A spell I made up, I'd never used it before..." He cried, he folded his arms on the bed, and placing his head ontop of them, tears gushing out, soaking his robe sleeves.


Delius felt himself withdraw from life, his whole body, everything, nonchalant to his cries of agony. "HELP ME!" Was the only thing so pass his lips, apart from blood cudling screams.

He woke up, his eyes dazed, looking around anxiously. Where was he? An odd sense of numbness was coursing through his body. He felt no pain, nor did he feel anything.

'Shall we go yet?' Remus asked James as he waved by to Lily and Livvy.

Eyes widening, she shook her head and sat up properly, facing him. "No, Severus, it'll be alright. Everything we'll be alright." She said, repeating herself but in truth, she had no idea. Dark magic...it was powerful but Severus couldn't have known enough magic to do much harm... right? "You made up a spell?" She asked confused.

Movement shifting in the corner of her eye, she slowly turned her head, fearing for the worse. But wait, movement meant someone wasn't dead. Praying it was Delius who was concious, she looked over to the bed. "Madame Goodkey!" She yelled, hoping the nurse would come to their aid.

Severus's eyes widened, he shouldn't have told Serena that! Now she'd never be his friend! He frowned, "I...I... Don't kn-n-ow." He stammered and looked into her eyes, hoping to find a shard of forgiveness, "I didn't mean, well, I saw you... They were hurting you, they might have... have... have killed you! And I used the spell, I'm not sure how effective it is... I just..."

She looked confused, Severus swallowed, "He probably won't be okay." He looked down, not sure whether to be angry at himself, proud or ashamed. He flicked his hair thats wa infront of his face back, and tucked it behind his ear. "You think I'm a crazy murderer now, right?"


Delius lay, numb, on the white hospital sheets. He enjoyed the obvious quiet of the room. The only sound he could hear were the terse whispers of two nearby friends. Each syllable echoed in his mind, not that he could make out what the words were or who was saying them.

All of a sudden, there was a peircing yell. The sheer magnitude of the contrast between almost silent and a shout crashed battering rams into his head. He felt dizzy and nauseous, but atleast there was no pain. As his mind spun a girl's face appeared in a bed, across the room, obviously it was her who yelled. He recognised her immediately, "Serena." He hissed, barely loud enough to hear, but his voice was full of hatred and anger.

Severus looked over to where Seren's eyes had been drawn. He frowned, he couldn't quite make out who was lying in the bed, he got up, tense and unsure. He made his way over to the other side of the room, and peered around the curtain. He saw Delius, his body was suddenly overcome with shock, then relief, "You're alive..." He breathed. He saw the look that Delius gave him, and made his way back across the room and sat down again next to Serena, "Its Delius. He's alive, but he's never gonna let me let away with this."

Taking his hand in hopes that a friendly gesture would calm him down, she gave him a small smile. " No, I don't think you are a crazy murderer. How could I? What you did was to protect me. I think that's more admirable than anything." She said quietly.

"Yes?!" Madame Goodkey rushed to Serena's bed, wondering what was going on. Looking at the direction of the young girl's gaze, she noticed Delius was finally concious. Walking quickly to the Slytherin boy, she propped him up on a few pillows and headed to the medicine cabinet for a bit of anti-scarring cabinet.

Hearing her name being whispered, she glared at him. "You're lucky you're alive." She said to him from across the room, knowing Madame Goodkey would not be able to hear her over her humming. "You could have died if it wasn't for Severus."

"He is never going to touch you again." She turned her head to face him. "He doesn't know how he got up here. If we say that you risked being expelled to carry him up here and get healed by Madame Goodkey, you should be fine for a bit. If he believes that you carried him up here, instead of leaving him to die, maybe it'll change his mind a bit." Serena turned back to Delius, hoping that there was some good in that wretched Slytherin across from her.

Peter winced. 'N - now?' he stuttered, starting to shiver slightly at the sheer thought.
