Lily Evans walked down to the common room and sat down by the fireplace. She had just recalled the summer break, and it all was so, utterly shocking. Especially when James Potter had kissed her while she was 'sleeping' it was magical really. It changed her world in more ways than she could imagine.

She ran a hand through her deep shimmering red hair and sighed leaning her head on her shoulder. She still had to go down to the great hall to get her timetables, but something was holding her back. It wasn't that she didn't want to go, no that wasn't it. She wanted to, but she was still afraid of how everything would have changed since that summer--more though, how she would have changed.

She stood up and stretched out hearing a door open in the dormitories she however didn't mind. Lily was now the head girl and well--she was just hanging around in the every-day-common rooms but she knew she would have to face her deuties and that meant working with James. And somehow, that scared her more that anything being so close and yet unable to touch.

note: Lily is in the Gryffindor Common room, just to get rid of confusion.

Though the open door of the dormitories a voice could be heard. "Oi, Prongs get your ars up!" Sirius said as he threw a pillow at his best friend. "We told Moony we'd meet him downstairs for breakfast and that was a half hour ago!"

Lucius Malfoy walked from his office that was conjoined to that of Horris Slughorns. He quickly locked the doors magically and made his way nearly soundlessly to the Great Hall. He walked to the Slytherin Table, not many students were there at that time, but he wanted to see who he could sway this year, he was scoping the crowds and seeing which students seemed weaker and more turned by the pull of dark magic. Well, almost all of the Slytherins would be fine on that regard.

Lily looked up hearing Sirius yelling to James and trying to wake him up. She knew, in that moment that the confrentation--or reunion, what-ever you would call it. Was about to happen. Lily sighed and ran a hand through her hair, she tried to quietly make her way to the portait hole, but that was impossible. Seeing that as she made her way to the portait her leg grazed the talbe and a lamp just-so-happened to topple not so noiselessly to the ground. Rather with a loud clang

James Potter woke up with a start, thinking it was ten o'clock. He rushed in his room, muttering a string of curse words at his friends and getting dressed, not noticing any of the people sleeping in their beds. He got his robes on and brushed his teeth quickly and rushed down stairs, nearly tripping over the stairs. He rushed past Lilly, noticing her and flashing a little smile, and running to the Great Hall. Great. He rushed for nothing. He sat down, slamming his bag on the bench beside him and started to eat somethings. He didn't pay attention to what; his mind was busy elsewhere.

Remus Lupin, confused about his friends' cursing, got up and looked at the clock. He laughed and slowly got ready, not thinking about how he looked. He was already looking old; what did it matter? He chuckled and got a book he had recently got and went outside, adjusting his robes. He sat on the Common Rooms couch and began to read, zoning everything out and being enveloped into the books' contents.

"Yeah, I was you know trying to avoid someone...and you know with me--klutzy and really embarassing things happen when I'm avoiding things." Lily shrugged her shoulder, she realized soon after that Molly had no clue what had happened. "Molly, I need to tell you something...important that really could change my life for good." Lily began to ramble slightly before cutting herself off. She sighed and placed her hands on Molly's shoulders and looking as grave and almost as if what she were about to say was life-or-death.

"I fell for him." She said as calmly as she could, closing her eyes as she said it wondering-waiting to see what she would say. Secretly hoping that no one had heard, he couldn't have himself seeing that he had ran down the stairs right as she ran into the table sending the lamp onto the floor. He had smiled at her too, and suddenly thinking of that made her knees go weak, atleast she wasn't on a set of moving stairs.

Following James abet a bit slower, he made it to the bottom of the stairs just in time to see his friend race out the portrait hole. Noticing Remus sitting on the couch reading, Sirius did a double take and walked over to him. "I thought we were meeting you downstairs, my dear Remus."

Peter sat up in his four poster bed. He looked around the room and saw that it was empty. Sighing, he got out of bed and started to get dressed. He half brushed his teeth, losing interest halfway through the process.

He made his way down to the common room where he found Remus Lupin, one of his best friends, reading a book. "Moony, my old friend, where are Prongs and Padfoot?"

He then turned around and saw Sirius. "Padfoot! Are you headed down to the Great Hall for breakfast? If you are I'll come with you!"

Turning as his name was mentioned, Sirius replied, "Hey Wormtail, I'm right here. I think you might have missed some sleep in your eyes."
