Noah watced Ian as he made a sandwich. It was an interesting sight to see Ian cooking, it wasn't exactly something that she had ever imagined him doing. But then she knew she was in for it when he gave her that smile. She got this gut feeling that the barries between the two of them were back up. That was how it probably should have been, but still it bothered Noah. "I was..." She started to answer his question. How should she answer it. Oh she might as well cut to the chase. That seemed to be the only way to get anywhere with him. "I was just checking on you, making sure you're okay" She told him.

Ian had turned into wearing his charming smile as he gazed over at Noah and waited for her to answer - a clear indicator that things were less than her idea of perfect for sure. Of course, I'm okay, he said with slightly raised eyebrows as he turned and flipped his sandwich before turning back to her. Are you okay? It sounded more sarcastic than anything, but Ian did really want to know.

After a bit was silence he spoke
So,how was school this year? He looked at Isabella and he knew she must be thinking what question was that so he clarified.
i know,it is really an out of the world question right now but i want to talk about something else then about the mystery killer Robert sighed
i know there will be a point where we will be talking about him...or her he said the last word after a bit of thought
but i want to talk about something else right now,just that... you know...helps me clear my head he said wringing his hand in air and then running it through his hair.
and i guess what better then start with the basics as we hardly know each other existed,well i for certainly didnt know about you,seriously he said with a small apologetic smile
even after being in same year and house he murmured and looked ahead of them and took a deep breath and then turned to Isabella.

Noah sat where she was. She looked at the smile that Ian wore and knew that he was not doing well. But then again did she really expect him to be? Was she? Sure part of her was happy, but at the same time there was a loss that she felt, especially now that she was away from Carter and with Ian.

She nodded as he told her that he was okay. His smile earlier though, made her wonder that he wasn't telling her the truth. He was keeping her out yet again. But deep down Noah knew that there was only one way that he would let her completely in always, and right now that way was not possible. She didn't answer when he asked how she was instead she just looked down at the ground. She knew that which ever answer she gave would either upset him or upset Carter. How was it that there was not an easy answer to any of this.

Isabella laughed - actually laughed! - at Robert's question, her smile remaining as he explained himself. It's fine - and it's been good. Hopefully it will be better when we go back - now that we do know each other, she said with a chuckle.

Ian's smile faded as Noah looked down and remained silent and, though he could feel some of his defenses going down with it, he was powerless to stop the process. Noah? he asked quietly, taking a hesitant yet graceful step towards her and crouching down towards the floor so that he could see her.

Noah continued to look at the ground. How was she supposed to answer that question. Even though Ian had asked it in a sarcastic manner that probably should have made her mad, she had no clue how to even begin to answer it. Yes she was happy that she was with Carter. Who wouldn't be. She also knew that she was doing the right thing that made her feel even better. But then there was still Ian. Was she satisfied without him. Well they all knew the answer to that.

But then she could see him. She knew by the sound of his voice that all barriers were down once more. " I should have never come in here" She said quietly. How had she been so naive. She actually let out a small laugh. "I'm not going to escape this am I? No matter what good intentions I have I'm never going to escape this" She said looking away from him once more.

Ian swallowed. It hurt a bit for her to say that she shouldn't have come in there - he wanted her to be in there. And then she looked away. Ian stood up slowly, trying to reason out the best answer to this, but he was having trouble finding one. Yes, you are - as soon as we all leave, I disappear, he said slowly.

Noah looked at Ian. She wondered if she had hurt him by her words. "I'm sorry its just that I should have known that coming in here to talk to you wouldn't be harmless" She said to him. As she listened to his words Noah couldn't help but feel slightly pained. "No" She said shaking her head. Of course there was more that she could have said, more that she wanted to say. But that would only lead to trouble. She might as well just leave it at no.

As Carter felt Noah's eyes on him, he turned and shot her a wink- merely to indicate that she was still on his mind, no matter how he acted with others around.

As he came back to Noah, he watched as conflicting thoughts seemed to cross her mind. "Don't worry Noah- I would have been surprised if you had turned it down," he said, kissing her forehead briefly. "That spell is still on you... just call my name," he told her softly. "And I'll be by your side in no time."

He watched her move into the kitchen with a soft smile. She was quite an amazing girl, and he felt quite lucky that she had chosen to be with him at all. With a sigh, he attempted to push Noah's discussion with Ian out of his mind as he looked at the barrier. After another second, he tapped the entrance once with his wand, and it allowed him entrance before closing behind him. At the scene before him, he made a face and took a bit of time to compose himself. He was a detective and there was a murder to find.

Carter continued to move around the room, looking for something that was out of place. But that was the thing- there was only the body in the middle of the room. There had been no struggle, no fight, not even the scorch of a spell on the wall... so she had known the murderer. Carter crouched down, taking a long look at the body. The killer would have had to leave a clue... and he had to find it.

Isabella smiled; she was glad he agreed - maybe now she'd actually have someone to talk.... and the fact tha she could talk to him so easily helped too. She sat next to him and her smile widened. Usually, she admitted with a small sigh at Robert's question. I just never really had the urge to do anything else.

Ian frowned and shook his head. This wasn't the direction he wanted it to go, but it was true - he would shut up, stay out, and move on. Of course you didn't, but still. It will go away, I can promise you that. She might not accept that they wouldn't see each other again, but he could. And if not.... well, he would spare her the memories magically.

Noah looked at Ian as he spoke. She didn't want to hear what he was saying. She didn't want to hear that he would leave, just like earlier she didn't want to hear that he had made her choice for her. The more and more that she thought about it she started to get upset. Of course she wasn't really upset, but being mad at Ian was easier then being sad. "Okay" She said nodding her head as she looked back to him. "Well it will be a lot easier to get over this if I'm not in here" She said to him as she jumped off of the couch. She headed to the door without another word. Was she upsetting him? She tried not to think about that because she knew that as soon as she did she would turn right back around, appologize and sulk again. No she was done with that. She was going to do what ever it took to be happy. Still though she couldn't walk out of the door. She stopped in the door way. Was she trying to figure out what to do next? Or was she waiting to see if he tried to stop her? She wasn't sure.

i am not asking because i love it and i am a quidditch player,no.But you know its one reliever and best time pass which one can have he said shrugging.
But you must be having loads of friends...he trailed i guess you have he said as an after thought.

Ian knew that his words weren't true for him, but he didn't say anything about it - it would have made it especially harder if he did. He just watched her walk to the door, where she stopped. He frowned, feeling the urge to say something but biting his tongue on the idea. See you around, Noah, he finally decided on as he turned back to flip his sandwich onto a plate.

Flying's alright - it's fun, but I'm no flier. I much prefer not being in control, Isabella admitted with a slight shrug. Eh, I don't normally study with anyone. I'm more of a quiet study as opposed to the big groups.

Noah stood there in the door way. For some reason she could not make her feet move. She knew that she needed to leave. But her feet would not step out of the kitchen. Then she heard Ian's words. No matter what she had prepared herself for she still felt her heart hit the ground when he said that. Noah took in a deep breath, trying to collect herself. She put up her wall. No Ian was not the only one who could shut people out and now Noah was embracing that side of her. From now on she would put up a wall around Ian. It would just be easier. Without turning to face him she said "No, I'd rather you not" as he told her that he would see her around. And with that she stepped out of the room.

Carter finally believe he had found a clue. There were impressions in the carpet- mainly from footprints- that he was examining now. He could see where Noah had been standing- but she had never come truly close to the body. However, besides his own, there was another set that came close... went under the body in fact. Meaning, that was the person who had performed the murder. Using his wand, he created a sketch of the impression- which would give a relative size and shape. He had also found a hair that certainly did not belong to Mrs. Pinkler. Interesting.
