Albus had knew before he even added the broom that James competitive edge wouldn't allow him to ignore the challenge. "Cheers," he said, excited in genuine, about how in the world James would pull this off. Or perhaps attempt to. A flicker of fear crossed his mind at losing his broom, but his face stayed intact. "Impossible, yes, but you're a Potter, James." Albus and Louis toasted, both grinning ear to ear.

Turning his thoughts away from Lily, he was able to pull himself back together and turn so he was looking forward again. Able to see that Perla was looking at him from the corner of his eye, he smirked. Even though he knew Perla was bound to have seen the expression on his face when she stated he liked Lily, he couldn't help but smirk. After a moment, he turned his head to look at her. 'Now, Perla, may we stop talking about such a subject?'

Perla watched him intently, still gliding across rocks and rubble without thought. He, however, did not return her gaze. She did not puzzle over it. Her piercing eyes were not always sought for in stressful situations, or otherwise. She registered his surprise, or even shock, and something, if only a flicker, else. She also registered the lie. Had the seriousness of the moment been lifted, she might have rolled those piercing eyes. When he turned away, Perla followed suit, defeated.

The anger and resign changed to surprise when he continued. She was slightly reassured by his words, and she reached for his hand. She looked at him sharply after he finished. "The Siren's did not change the seamen, they shipwrecked them." She took a small breath, ready to go on, but calmed herself by gripping his hand a little tighter.

The wind ruffled her brothers hair, in her eyes making him the better impersonator of their father. She smiled in a small way, comforted by the fact that her father was almost standing next to her, in a much better form with all the goodness of Scorpius. She returned his smirk with her own, and replied softly, "Yes. I'm tiring of it, too."

As they neared the Great Hall she stopped. She was not one for food, but she turned to her brother, "Shall we?" She secretly hoped they could skip the feast, possibly because of the subject of their previous talk, or perhaps because of the gawking Perla received that was magnified each welcoming feast by the coming of new students, and the returning of old. But, though she ate almost as much as she cried, Scorpius might be hungry.

As she cautioned him, Sev grimaced visibly. He quite enjoyed being given his newfound attention, and he enjoyed perhaps more thoroughly, girls. Addy was great, but she seemed a little selfish after Lily's shpeal. He would need to spend some quality time with her to narrow his playing field so completely. "That puts a damper on it." He grumbled, taking a gulp of pumpkin juice.

"See? That is such a typical guy response, why is it so hard for guys to commit to one person, why does it have to be this game with all these girls. And don't think she is being selfish!" she added, almost reading his thoughts. "She is the way most girls are, no girl in their right mind wants to share a guy with a ton of other girls, so if you are planning on that you are seriously wasting your time, because she doesn't do the stupid gawky, flirty, giggly, annoying girlishness thing where they act like an air headed bimbo." Lily said, her own annoyance at those kinda of girls showing.
"You probably shouldn't bother then if you are thinking she is going to be one of your little arm candies." Lily said almost laughing at the thought, neither her or Addy put up with that. There would be no double standard here. If girls weren't expexted to, then guys shouldn't either.
"If you are so into being a ladies man, go after those silly giggling girls down the table." Lily said, moving her head in their direction to indicate who she was referring to. A group of several fifth years had congregated just down the table from Lily and her friends, and were having quite a giggle fest between looking at all the eye candy surrounding Lily; James, Albus, Louis, Lorcan and Lysander.

"Ah indeed, It might be impossible but making the impossible possible is what we Potters do best."As James said this an impressive tune played off in his mind and a heroic scenery flashed trough his mind, though other's watching him might think strangely about his daydreaming.

"Oh and about your broom, I wouldn't dare to break my little brother's heart by taking his broom.....You can keep it, even if I succeed."

James stopped after this, he knew Lily would probably get mad at him for saying stuff like that and besides, it seems fans had just arrived at the table, giggling fans were always the most easy to please.

Albus listened to Lily's defense of Addy warily, he guessed a few of the words before they came out of her mouth. Bimbo, annoying, share a guy... He had to grin at her stubborn hate of his usual choice (not to mention James's CONSTANT choice) of arm-candy. "What?! You didn't like Krystal with a K?"
Louis perked up at the mention of Sev's immensely hot, immensely dumb, summer fling, whom Lily had...erm...HATED. "No, no, I think she mentioned something about that this summer--"

Holding Perla's hand lightly, Scorpius kept his mouth closed as she wrapped up the topic of Lily, not trusting himself enough to speak anymore. He knew that, should he speak of her, he would probably let more emotions slip. La Perla was bound to have noticed the emotion that had already passed over him several times today.

Stopping with Perla, Scorpius looked at the great oak doors that opened in to the Great Hall. The recent subject had left him with no appetite, and he turned his head away from them. 'I might skip the feast tonight. I have no appetite,' he told her, dropping her hand. 'You can have something if you wish, Pear. And Alex, where ever he is,' he mumbled.

The mention of Alex made Pear knit her eyebrows slightly. It wasn't strange that he had been so quiet on the train, unnerving, as always, but not strange. It was however, that he had been missing for nearly an hour. The Malfoy's weren't exactly ravenous, but they didn't skip the feast usually, either. She pushed it from her mind, and smirked at Cor's question from the marble stairs. "No." Scorpius was polite like that, even if the last time their family saw Pear eat was hard to recall, he asked.

Perla resisted the sudden urge to ask what he was thinking, or delve into it herself. She respected her brother's privacy of mind, even if they were the only ones. Her mother was an accomplished Occlumens, and her father was nearly always honest with her, though it was true, at the dinner table he would suddenly find himself thinking quite abruptly about anything Perla was curious about. Thus, Hogwarts was a sort of treat, not because of the students, no. They're minds, however entertaining at evening meals, were far too simple and trivial to be true practice. It was the professors' minds she really enjoyed. Perla had been on more than one occasion, reprimanded for answering a question before it was asked. Nevertheless, she simply looked at Scorpius a little quizzically, then suggested their departure to the Common Room.

"I forgive you, but only because I'm so kindhearted."James said and then stood up to glance down the Slytherin table, he could find no trace of Malfoy he was challenged to date but the Slytherin table was all the way over the other side of the Great Hall so he could've looked past her.

"You know I'm starting to wonder how I'm gonna pull this off, I don't know her, have no classes with her and she's in Slytherin.....It will be a task itself to even get to talk to her."James gave a sigh as it had just sunk in how slim his chances were.
"Does any of you have any helpfull suggestions?"

Lorcan looked at her and smirked. "You love it." he said winking at her, taking another sip of juice before leaning back in his chair, quite content from his meal. He leaned back on the chair, placing his hands behind his head so that his strong arms were quite obvious. He smirked at her again.

Rose shook her head in mock dissapointment, looking towards the ground. She would have rolled her eyes, yet again, but all the eye rolling was giving her a headache. "You need to inflate that head of yours." Rose said, "It's getting much to large for your own good. Or anyone's for that matter." She added, a sly smirk upon her lips.

When Lily was completely done with her rant about Addelaide (whom he had started to refer in his mind to as Lily's Girlfriend) and "normal" girls, Albus was slightly cross as well. "Have you two set a date, then? Picked the colors for the wedding invitations?" He folded his arms, sick of...whatever this was. A reprimand? A slap on the wrist? A wake up call? Possibly an advert for Addelaide? Where in the last meal, had the fun Lily gone? Clearly, Albus wasn't about to juggle-date, and CLEARLY, he was not going to cheat on anyone. Keeping his options open had never upset Lily so much, just as Lily had never upset Sev so much.

He was really stung by the immaturity bit. Lily could not understand, simply could not comprehend, James' shadow. It fell a little to her right, being a girl, and just over Albus. Maturity was the reason he wanted a bit of time in the limelight, a bit of the girls, a bit of the Quittitch acclaim, and a bit of fun. Fun, was clearly no longer a priority of Lils', and he wanted dearly to throw something on the floor and tell her that if she was mature, then he wanted no stuffy bit of it. He contented himself with glaring holes into the air a little above her shoulder, and muttering, "Maybe I just can't handle normal girls, like you, Lily." He put stress on normal and looked at her with a bit of his temper still stamped on his face, cocking an eyebrow.

His eyes running over the wall next to the doors, he stood up straight and looked at her, nodding again at her suggestion. Ignoring the quizzical look, he took her hand gently before leading the way to the Common Room.

Reaching the dungeons, he frowned, realising they hadn't gotten the password. Looking at Perla, he raised an eyebrow as if to suggest she found out the password for someone without them knowing it. He leant against the wall next to the entrance to the Common Room, dropping her hand.

"Wow you are so hilarious." Lily said, annoyed at the attitude she was recieving. "You know what? I am done talking about this, if you were smart, you would simply talk to Addy on your own instead of getting into this stupid conversation with me. All I have to say is thank god I don't have to date either of you. And you are both seriouly missing my point here, it has nothing to do with marriage, it has nothing to do with ruining your fun, but once again the narrowmindedness of the male sets in. I'm not going to explain it anymore." she said, shaking her head. It hurt slightly that all her brothers could do was criticize her and shoot down every thing she said, did they actually not understand girls at all? Lily looked at Albus after his last comment, letting it completely roll off.
"Apparently not." was all she said.

"And you, you better shut your big wide trap before you have a serious bat bogey hex to deal with." she said, rounding on James. If anything, she was more frusterated with him than Albus, he really was clueless. His cockyness was getting to her.
"The whole world doesn't revolve around you." she said.
She shook her head and looked down the table to where Addelaide and the others were having a fun, playful conversation. How had things gone south so quickly? Her brothers had touched a nerve, that's why. She had been trying to express her opinion on a slightly painful topic. The boys didn't know it but she had been cheated on by her most recent boyfriends and been very hurt by it. What frightened her was that she sometimes saw similarities in her brothers' flirtatious, womanizing behaviour and her ex's. She had simply been trying to help them see what would hopefully be a helpful insight into how to treat a girl, but had quickly gone south. Suddenly she was the over reacting, worked-up, annoying sister. She sighed, wishing this altercation hadn't even happened and longed for the goofing off on the train.

Sev's head snapped up at James's proposed "plan." He grinned mischievously. It was a sad, sad, thing that Albus was the one with the Invisibility Cloak this year. He decided to say nothing, and turned back to Lily, who was apparently annoyed for the fifth time this meal. She finally conceded that she was not going to explain it any further, and Albus crossed himself with eyes toward heaven. He sighed and recounted the last half an hour. It went like this:
Albus asks Lily about Addy, whom he has a slight interest in. Lily sells spectacular infomertial about her friend, then announces he must be monogamous, as is only right. Albus decides he would rather flirt, unwisely says so, and Lily has major nerve-hitting-freak-out, still valiantly making Addelaide out as a good catch. Albus insults Addy, mentions Krystal, Lily goes into immaturity shpeel. Albus is now offended, and both are cross over their own "touchy" subjects, all because of a kiss on the cheek. "Albus walks away before the story can progress," he muttered to himself, continuing the narrative, and stood. With everyone still sitting, he could not easily scrape the bench back a few inches, but he managed a bit awkwardly to exit the Gryffindor table, glancing only at Lily as he left. He stalked out of the Great Hall, taking care not to look at Addelaide for fear of his bubbling temper.

Scorpius sighed. He hated the rules of Legilimency, especially when they needed something useful and the rules prevented them from getting it. Tipping his head back so the top of his hair was rubbing against the stone, he spoke.

'Any clues as to how we get inside our common room then?' he asked Perla, crossing his arms over his chest as he looked at the ceiling.

Lily shook her head. "No thanks Louis." she responded when he offered the muffin. She leaned back against her chair, angry at her brothers' pigheadedness, they had completely missed her point and turned her into the bad guy. Although she was generally very level headed she was easily offended and hurt, as she had just been. It was a relief when Addy came over.

So what happened over here, it looks as though someone's died?" she said sitting down beside Lily, looking quiestioningly at Louis.

"Nothing, just an argument between siblings." Lily muttered. "It shouldn't have even happened but I apparently can't express an opinion because I am always wrong, and they don't seem to get what I'm saying without taking it the wrong way and calling me no fun and old fashioned, which was beside the point, that wasn't what I was getting at at all." Lily said, now feeling close to tears, but she blinked them away quickly. She didn't cry. It was weak.

Addelaide looked at Louis, confused, but chose not to ask for any more details. "Unfortunately, miscommunications happen, especially in the heat of an argument when one doesn't want to be told they are wrong." she said, trying to break the tension. "I'm sure it will all blow over." she said hopefully.

Lily rolled her eyes, her mood thoroughly ruined. "Maybe for everyone else, but now I've been painted as the unfun, argumentitive, old fashioned, feminist girl who I'm sure they won't want to hang out with anymore. They didn't even understand my side of it." she said, almost pleadingly.

James had taken a moment to give some attention to his 'fans' once again, now even going so far as to go sit with them and have a chat with them.
But as he went back to sit with his friends and family again, sighing loudly as he looked down on his robes and saw the amount of burnmarks on his brand new robes.

He came back with the intention to ask Albus if he could borrow the invisibility cloak that Albus had in his possesion, but there was no sign of him.

"Has anyone seen Albus?"He asked the group of Gryffindors.
He got the idea that his brother did this on purpose, how could he blame him, who would assist his opponent when there's so much gold riding on it.
"It seems I'll need to adjust my plans somewhat."James said to no one in particular.

Perhaps he could charm a Slytherin into giving him the password, though he would have to find an attractive one and finding such a girl would be another challenge seeing as there weren't many of his type in that particular house.

The headmaster stood and instantly the Great Hall quieted down.
"Welcome to another wonderful year at Hogwarts! I hope that you all had safe and exciting summers! Time tables will be handed out at breakfast tomorrow, please keep in mind that the third floor corridor is still out of bounds to all students, as is the forbidden forest! For a list of banned objects and items, please see the note posted on your common room bulletic boards! Quidditch tryouts will commence this week, please speak to your respective captains for information, James Potter for Gryffindor, Renada Nova for Ravenclaw, Micheal McGrath for Hufflepuff and Zorland Smith for Slytherin! And now that our bellies are full of food, off to bed!" he said, and instantly the Great Hall errupted into noise and scraping benches.

"I'm off to show the first years the way, see you later!" Lysander said, as he headed off, calling to the first years.

"Ahh Quidditch, best part of coming to this school." Lorcan said excitedly, he had been a Beater on the team for the past 4 years and was quite exceptional at it. "When are you starting tryouts?" he asked James excitedly.

Addelaide smiled at the mention of Quidditch. It was another thing that made her time here that much better. She loved the atmosphere and the new friends you got to make, she had even dated the Hufflepuff captain last year. And of course there was the fact that she was extrememly competitive and and exceptional athlete, her and Lily had both been starting chasers on the team last year, Lily's first year being a couple of years ago, and Addelaide being a veteran with James and Lorcan. Lily was also a skilled flyer and chaser, but then again, look who here parents were and her brothers, it was bound to be in her blood as well.

Rose rolled her deep brown eyes. Qudditch. Her whole family were Quidditch fanatics. She on the other hand prefered to stay on the ground and watch from a distance. Their was nothing more fearful than being up in the air as two demonic balls try to push you off your broomstick. She shuddered at the thought. Rose turned to face Dominique. "Hey Dee, excited for classes?" Rose said in an eithusiastic tone. She has inherited her mother's thirst for knowledge. Rpse loved classes and never expected less than excellance from herslf.
