The alien scent hit her again, even stronger than before. The vampire was getting closer to Forks. Stumbling along in the forest, she sniffed the air with her snout, trying to get a better sense of direction of where the smell was coming from.

Reaching the edge of the forest, she barred her teeth. She was at the line. The line that they could not cross as wolves. The line that the vampires could not cross. And the vampire was on the other side of the line. Leah barked in irritation. Someone had to tell the Cullens, whether her pack agreed to it or not. There was a loose vampire on their side and it needed to be gone, peacefully or not.

Ginny looked for Harry in their house.
"There you are! I was missing you." she kissed him. "What do you have to do today?"

Esme waited patiently for Carslile. She walked in the bedroom and looked herself in the mirror. All her family was down stairs: Emmett and Rosalie, Jasper, Alice, Edward. And Bella. She was part of the family. And the world to Edward; just like Carslile to me. she tought.

Bella rolled her eyes, but nodded. 'Actually, Dad, I've got a suggestion for fishing: how about you come here instead? It feels like you haven't seen the whole family for ages. I'm sure the others wouldn't mind.' She winked at Rosalie. 'And, I think, tonight, we're all having dinner together. I'll pass on dinner. I don't want to hurt your feelings or anything, but I don't think I could cope with two dinners in one night,' she lied. She knew full well she wouldn't be eating - not human food, anyway. Still, Charlie didn't need to know that yet.

'Oh, Alice would love to come.' Bella nodded at Alice. 'So, I'll see you around eightish? It's late, I know, but it's better than nothing.' She pulled the phone away from her mouth slightly, looking at Edward. 'Of course when it's dark. Why else would I have picked later tonight instead of now?' she whispered to him.

Paul looked up, smirking. Rubbing his hands together, he stood up. 'Excellent,' he muttered, before phasing. It had been a while: he felt his muscles loosen as he began to run. He could smell the vampire, and he knew it wasn't a scent he recognised as he ran down to the line, the ground disappearing beneath his feet.

Slowing when he spotted Leah, he walked towards her. Anything, Leah? Where's the vampire? he thought, not caring the rest of the pack would be able to hear him.

Jasper smiled, and linked his fingers into hers. Her hand felt so perfect in his. He smiled brightly, and rested his head on her shoulder, closing his eyes. He felt so safe in her arms, so secure.

Emmett sighed and flopped onto the sofa.

A grin spread across Emmett's face as a picture of absolute beautiful pranced into the room. Rosalie, the missing piece of his puzzle. She absolutely completed him. He leapt up, and opened his arms to collect her into a welcoming embrace.

"Rose!" He whispered in her ear, holding her close.

Novak dropped the bear and licked his lips. Suddenly he smelled something foul, something that made his nose wrinkle. "Werewolves?" he muttered. But that wasn't the only thing he smelled. "And people of my kind..." he added. Forks was something far more interesting than he thought it would be.

Charlie nodded in agreement. "Sure, that's fine. Give me a ring when you're ready," he said to Bella, "bye." And with that, he hung up with satisfaction.

Jacob sighed. "See you later, Paul," he said, and ran into the woods. He had heard Leah's howl. He phased at once and began to sniff everywhere. "Is everyone phased?" he thought. Surely they were.

Edward laughed. "That was strange," he said, kissing Bella's temples.

'Bye,' Bella replied, but the phone was already dead. Sighing, she flipped it shut and put it back in her pocket as Edward kissed her temples. She nodded at his statement, closing her eyes for a moment.

'Extremely strange. Since when did Charlie call me up and invite me fishing, when he knows I hate it? Not that we could go anyway.' She opened her eyes again. 'But, if he insists on the fishing, I need a good excuse. I'm not as good as you are yet.'

Yes, Paul thought in answer to Jacob's question, lowering his muzzle to sniff the ground for the vampire.

"He misses you," Edward said, taking her hand and tracing it with his finger. "It's quite understandable," he added with a smile. He was blown away right then as a smell of something not too far from here went through his nostrils. "Do you smell that? The wolvies are out."

"Yep," Jared thought. His mind was racing as he sniffed the woods for something strange.

"Emmett," she mimiced his soft rumble in her softer, dulcet voice. One arm slipped seamlessly around his torso and Rosalie gave her husband a satisfied peck on the lips. "Try to contain yourself tonight," she chided teasingly. "Looks like Bella's father will grace us with his charming presence." As much as she was cold around Bella back then, it was healing now, but Chief Swan was now the bigger amusement to Emmett...who always tried to play him with an arm-wrestling match.
She met Emmett's eyes, a liquid gold that could be spotted amongst the most complicated spectrum and smiled radiantly. Hers were a shade darker, signaling her impending hunger. "Would you like to go with me?" she queried, her cryptic question suggesting one thing and one thing only. Hunting. Best be on goos behavior for the Chief. Not even his handcuffs could help if a hungry stomach called the shots.

It's on the other side. She growled angrily although it wasn't directed to Paul. And we can't cross. Leah pawed at the ground, wishing the line could be abandoned right now just so they could take down the vampire. Lifting her snout yet again, she took a few steps backward as another vampire scent hit her. Did you smell that?! She asked Paul. Another alien scent had hit her. It was another vampire. Two vampires? She asked, questioning the entire pack.

Emmett smiled, and intertwined his fingers with her long, pale ones. They were like beautiful, soft spiders. He pulled her onto his lap and wrapped his arms around her slender waist.

"A hunt?" He studied her eyes. "Perhaps that would be a sensible answer."

Bella sighed, nodding. 'I know,' she replid softly, entwining her fingers through his and holding onto his hand firmly. Her head snapped up to stare up at him at his next statement, and her pale face looked startled. 'The wolves?' she whispered. The wolves. Jacob. She closed her eyes, her lids sliding shut over the liquid gold of her eyes. Jacob. Even the name made her cringe internally, remembering what had happened when she was still human.

Stupid Cullens, stupid line, Paul thought as he lifted his head once more at Leah's thoughts. He caught the same whiff of the second bloodsucker and growled, the sound coming directly in his chest loudly. Filthy bloodsuckers! If he could, he would have hit a tree trunk with his hand to break it into splinters, but as it was he made do with growling.

Angie, having gotten away from the other vampiric entity with ease now danced all across the werewolves' land, completely unaware of the long-standing boundary. The bear's protesting roars as whoever was attacking it advanced died down to whimpers...then to silence. "Siiiiiiilence," Angie sighed, blinking her eyes in several directions and staring at the sky momentarily. Noon sunlight streamed into the trees. Time was passing. Angie hated time. She wanted to stab every clock she saw. A sharp, pungent odor struck her nostrils and her neck pivoted, glaring at the trees. Angie had never encountered a wolf, but she knew what they smelled like. Ah well, let them come. Tearing them to shreds wouldn't be so hard. Shaking with the thought of a passing minute, Angelica stumbled back and leaned against a tree trunk, yards off her rightful line, a good eigth of a mile from the other vampire, but she could still make out his silhouette, and just feet from the wolves, who were looking in the other direction. Danger. Time to play.

His nose was still locked on the seem, but something didn't seem right. It almost smelt as if there were more leeches then Cullens running about the area. Quil knew something was wrong and yet he couldn't fingure out what it was. "Leeches." he said simply, since there was nothing more he could say.

Quil stared at Embry for a moment "Yeah I do." he answered still sitting perfectly straight. "Something doesn't seem right." he said quietly as he stared out to the sea.

Quil still don't move since, he could almost feel something else was going on besides the Cullen clan coming back. "Just hold on Seth. I smell something else." he said stubbornly. "More leeches I think." he added still not sure if he was right or not.

Quil was getting really excited since an adventure was about to happy. His eyes darted around as if he was trying to find something hidden. "I guess I'll go north." he answered quietly.

Harry kissed Ginny on the cheeks "I was just thinking about stuff." he answered softly. "How's the kids ?" he asked since he had heard them in awhile. "I have nothing to do since it's my day off, love." he added with a smile.

Lee could almost feel something was changing within the wind. She couldn't help but wonder what it was. Her mind was screaming as it wonder if something bad was going to happen, but she couldn't tell. She had only been a small child when Voldemort was trying destory everything with the wizard community. Her stomach began to turn as she thought about those days, when her father worried about their safety.

Edward jumped up and rushed to the window. Of course he wouldn't see anything. He closed his eyes, hearing the thoughts. It was like they were whispering, but still.

Jacob let out a growl. He smelt something, something wretched and evil. It was near the others, they had to smell it. He rushed to the site of where they were, looking around. They're somewhere around here, he thought. I think they are more than one.
