Edward laughed silently. He was pulling onto Charlie's street as she mouthed it, and in seconds, they were in the driveway. "We're here," he said loudly. He had a plan so they won't eat: they ate before they arrived.

Novak found a seat by the decor kitchen table. "There's something you all need to know before I'm admitted into your family. I really never thought that I'd tell a family of vampires this but..." Novak looked innocently at the family, waiting for them to listen.

Charlie rushed out the house and saw Edward and Bella in the Volvo. "Bella!" Charlie called out.

Bella looked at Edward before she opened the door and stepped out, putting her phone back in her pocket. 'Hey, Dad!' she replied, wrapping her jacket around her tighter in an attempt to stop Charlie noticing just how cold she was now if he decided to hug her.

Novak pulled out a little stick from his pocket. A wand. He waved it a little and a jet of red light streamed through the house. It was intending to hit nothing. Just to stream around. "I know of a magical world, a world where magic reigns and wizards and witches live."

Alice looked a little shocked before she colapsed into Jasper's arms as if she were asleep. A few minutes later she opened her eyes, a little shocked to find herself in her husbands arms. "There young go to school in a castle"

Charlie ignored Edward and grabbed Bella for a big hug. "Oh Bella I missed you!" he shouted. It was a few seconds later that he realized that Edward was right there. "Oh, hello Edward... Let's get in the house, it's getting cold."

Bella laughed against Charlie's shoulder, hugging him back briefly before pulling away. 'Yeah, Dad, I know. I missed you too.' She smiled at him, before glancing at Edward. Taking his hand firmly, she lead him towards the house.

Edward laughed. "Same old Charlie," he whispered to Bella, walking into the house. He quickly kissed her forehead before Charlie had time to turn around.

'Obviously not as changed as I was hoping,' she whispered back. She looked at the house. It looked the same as ever, and she rolled her eyes. 'And it doesn't look like he's done anything with the house, either.' She surpressed a laugh as she looked at Charlie.

"Well you know... It's not like I have any time..." Charlie joked with Bella. "Hold on a sec let me get the dinner." he told them.

Carlisle was in utter shock with what Novak had said. "Wizards now?" he asked hysterically.

Edward laughed. "I bet your room is exactly how you left it," he said. He added in a low whisper: "We ate before we came. Carlisle made a big dinner for us, got it?"

Bella nodded. 'I get it. And yeah, I bet my room is exactly how I left it, right down to the half open wardrobe door.' She laughed and looked at Charlie before looking back at Edward.

'One question, though: what was the dinner Carlisle made for us? Just in case Charlie asks. You know I'm no good at making up lies.'

"Certainly," Lilly agreed, inclining her head passively. Alone, even though Edward was in the vicinity, the vow was made to never let anything draw them to her husband. Herself was quite enough. Lilly was astute enough to understand the family clashes. In instances aside from this, she found them privately amusing. An irony. Everyone was a satire in their own way and that was what she most paid an ear to. Humor. What else was there? Beauty, vampiric or human was a constant ennui after the first few moments of witnessing the gentle graces. They weaved from absorbing oil paintings to caricatures effortlessly...and obtusely done in the middle of the night. Her brows furled together, the heiroglyph of her curiosity and attraction to the human tendencies. Carlisle and the unidentified vampire conversed briefly, Edward's light glowed brighter. Must have been nice to find pleasure in one's own little source of...love....warmth of heart.
Alice's look admonished the easy flow of things, returning the vacancy in her eyes. Her sudden leave from Carolina was battering. Lilly felt as she was still driving across the dirt road, her Jeep bouncing from one direction to another. She managed a graceful nod, but nothing more conveyed her interest of the subject. "Hello, Bella," she stated amiably, indulging in the friendliest of smiles. "Carlisle, you look well." She nodded shyly to Novak, still unable to decipher if he was friend or foe. An intuition said he was neither, vacant and business-like. Much like Nicolo Machiavelli, the noted philosopher. Eloquent and empty. Just the same, he seemed to take no notice of her which gave him a leeway of appreciation. Preferable to a hounding attention.
"Why, thank you, Jasper," she chuckled, allowing him to perform his old-fashioned custom. "I see that once a Southern gentleman, always one." She winked at Alice. "Emmett!" she moaned, choking under the pressure of his bulky build and nearly suffocating. Her arms lifted him back and she grinned, pressing her lips to both dimpled cheeks. "Married," she surprised herself with the effortlessness and flourish in which she spoke it now. Most believable. "He's great, but really, what's good nowadays. I love him and he loves me." That part took a bit of coaxing.

Rosalie smirked when Lilly entered the room, admiring the well-cared appearance of the fellow companion. Lilly always looked presentable. Rose couldn't say that she didn't envy Lilly's little quirks of beauty. Like the constellation of freckles that were barely noticable as they were almost as pale as her translucent visage. Her scruffy cinammon colored curls didn't look like they ever needed brushing. They were most like a wildflower arrangment, the bouquet arrived armed with symetry. Her jade eyes were what she admired most. Hmm...with all this envy and admiration it was hard to conceive Rose's better acceptance of Lilly over Bella.
"Good to see you, dear," Rose purred, crossing her legs and resting an elbow against the arm of the sofa. Her fingers folded into her own hair as she scrutinized the rest of the girl's appearance. A bit off...more than usual.
"Don't kill her, Emmett," she chuckled, forcing back a frown.

"I knew you were real," she muttered beratingly, stung that he thought her to be that insecure. Her pink lip twitched in disdain. However, she liked his honeyed hair. It wasn't platinum like hers. She made it a focal point, averting herself from his too-deep eyes. It seemed as though his pupils were really offices of a therapist, questioning and sealing it for future reference.
"I find it perfectly absurd," she rattled, starting after him; the satisfactory tow truck that he was. "First of all, as you claim I'm calling your name...I don't even know your name for Dracula's sake!" She leered dementedly, stepping in front of him, head cocked, eyes most appraising. It wasn't like her to be this verbose. "I feel quite sorry for you...or happy for myself; whichever comes first." Her happiness. Of course. "At least I'm not totally maddened as you appear to be."
Angie grinned, displaying her canine teeth. "Why not me?" she bragged, cackling more to herself. All her perks and quirks made one hell of a person in her opinion. "Still, that gives you no excuse as I once more implore I don't know you."
She'd gone too far. Biting her lip as if in it was contained the mechanism to travel back in time and rebuke her big mouth. "Perhaps, it was a twist of fate that you came when you did. At least...you're helping."

Not quite as polite as Jasper, Emmett stood up and pushed Jasper aside, pulling Lilly into a warm embrace. "Married, eh? Hope he's good enough for my Lillz!" He chuckled, and offered her his seat.

Madison stared at the piece of paper. It was terribly hard to read. She barked appreciately at Leah as she read it out. Hmm. Odd. The newcomers were offering them help. Or was it help?

Weird... What could they want with us?

Charlie got out three plates and placed them on the table. He filled the plates with lasagna and brought out the silverware. "Lets eat guys." he said.

Novak noticed a beautiful woman who had entered the house all of a sudden. "Pardon me, I haven't met you yet, my name is Novak." he said pleasantly.

Bella looked at Edward for a long moment before turning to Charlie. 'Actually, Dad, Carlisle cooked a big dinner for the family and some guests we had. We've already eaten.' She bit her lip. 'Sorry.'

"Lillan Thayer," she replied automatically, a touch shy to his sudden greeting. She smiled, like she always did, a bit blown away by this suddenness. "But, only Lilly, please." Lilly wasn't a bit fond of surprises. Good natured as she deemed herself to be, for his sake she took it into stride. "Pleasure meeting you, Novak. I don't really recall you being part of the coven. You're fairly new, aren't you?" The way he spoke, it appeared definite that he was in the initiatory stage of his relations with the Cullens. Internally, she wished him luck. This family was invaluable if one was on their good side.

Charlie felt upset at Bella's words. "Oh uhm, I see... It's ok, you don't have to apologize... let's sit down while I eat... by myself." Charlie said.

How badly she wanted to drop the pretencious sweetness over the matter and be frank. But frank was neither in the name or the job description. Her name was Lilly and hiding things was a bitter second nature. "I've heard things," she admitted, nodding fervently over this magical entity that existed somewhere out there. "That's interesting." She eyed the wand. Peculiar, but thankully not as elaborate as she thought magic to be. Novak wouldn't be shooting balls of flame from his collarbone or any of that mumbo jumbo. Just a wand, some philosophy, and facts.
"Married. Yes. Tha-ank you." Her voice cracked in the middle of the pledge of gratitude. It was becoming monotonous. Lilly balled her hands into fists as if to hide the wedding band embedded by the somber gradients of black, purple, and red that made up the velvet blanket on which the lack-luster diamond sat pitifully.
"Mind, what brings you here?" Lilly changed the subject, genuinely curious. "I'm sure such a prestegious wizarding world opportunes far more elaborate places to live. Forks compared to...Madrid or Tokyo." However, she already saw the appeal. Family. Bliss.

"It was actually lasagna, too," Edward explained. "It was a kind of welcome home thing for us. What about next time?" he asked, his smile crooked, as always.
