Adalia felt her stomach lurch every time he touched her, and actually had a hard time composing herself. She shook her head at the pastie..she would wait til dinner. If she was even hungry after this...
"Oh, my summer? Not much...i went on vacation to Italy. It was amazing...Rome and Vienna and Venice...my favorite was Venice. The entire city's on water...you have to take boats to get everywhere...you would like it. I loved it, it was beautiful!" she exclaimed, her eyes sparkling as she described the place. It was now her dream to live there, or to at least visit once more.
"What about yours?" she asked politely, already knowing the bad news. It was all over the news...she wasnt looking forward to seeing his reaction though. "Oh, and I missed you as well. I was pretty lonely."

Alex put the pasties away; he wasn't hungry anymore - his appitite had left him somewhere during the kiss. He put his hand on her knee and smiled, "I'm glad you enjoyed it, I've never been to Venice but my Dad took me to Rome once..." No tears welled up in his eye's, he didn't grimace, or look sad, but the pain was evident, hiding behind his dark blue eyes, "I was always his favorite..." He pulled his hand off her knee and fiddled with the edge of his robes, "He liked me best..."

Adalia gave him a sympathetic look. She took his hand, and kissed it. She merely smiled, and gave him a hug. She didnt let go, either. She gave him a BIG, LONG hug. When she finally let go, she smiled at him, and saw the pain he felt in his eyes. SHe sighed, and looked at the ground.
"You okay? You gonna be alright?" she asked, looking up at him again, still smiling. She had always been told that smiles get people through anything...hopefully this time,smiles worked.

Alex saw Lia smiling at him; his heart lifted abit, but not even Lia's dazzling smile could help him right now. His dad was gone, and there was nothing he could do to make it right again, "Don't worry about me," He shrugged and looked at his feet, and said gruffly, "Its not like I'm a little kid; I can look after myself."

Adalia tutted, and put a hand on his knee.
"Too bad. I'm going to worry about you anyway," she said, with a smirk.
"Everyone needs someone else, Alex, you cant be all alone...all the time," she said simply looking over him with a worried look in her eyes.

Alex stood up sharply and went and stood my the fire, leaning casually against a wall. Fire light flickered on face, his eyes glinting. "Someone? And that would be you right?" He looked angry, he frowned at Lia, "I don't want my problems to become your problems!" He said, softer this time, "You know how I feel about you, I couldn't stand..." He trailed off and looked down towards his feet.

Adalia expected this reaction, but it still scared her a bit. She blinked a few times, before regaining her composure, and stood up, shaking a bit. She walked towards him, and simply leaned against the wall in front of him.
"Yes, thats right, me. I dont mind, Alex..." she said calmly, and prepared to probably hear an outburstof some sort from him. BUt she was used to it..it was just his character.
"Couldnt stand what? Dumping your problems me? Like I said before,i dont mind and thats the exact definitaion of a friend. Friends help friends with problems," she said, giving him a look. He's stubborn..I know..he'll never listen to me, but eh, it was worth a try.

Alex mulled things over in his mind; he knew she'd get upset everytime he told her his issues; they were just to big. He knew she wouldn't tell him if she was upset; that was just who she was, she kept her feelings inside; they were kinda the same, so Alex understood her really well. He couldn't quite pinpoint what he should do in this situation yet; telling people how he really felt wasn't something he was used to, let alone good at."I don't know Lia, it's just all so big." He pulled her into his strong arms, "but I'll always let you know when I'm feeling low."

Adalia had definately not expected this. He hadnt yelled...or gone into a rage...or anything. Hmph. Maybe he had changed a bit over the summer..she didnt know. She simply allowed him to hug her.
"Fine. At least that...than I know when to make you feel better," she said, smiling. "Jeeze..you getting really strong, Alex...been working out or something?" she asked, resting head on his chest as she giggled and tried to lighten the mood. Being a hypocrite, arent I? I never share my feelings...I hide them well...hmm..maybe i can tell one person how i feel sometimes..i dunno.

He held her in his arms, a very happy chappy; even for a boy who's parents had just died, "Maybe I just grew up?" He laughed and stroked her hair. "People will be coming up here soon, and its cold, lets go up to my dorm, and find us some blankets!" He stuck his tongue out at her and grabbed her hand, leading her up the boys dorm steps, "I can't wait to show you my new dress robes!"

Adalia nodded.
"Maybe you did..." she said, shivering as he touched her hair. She stopped allowing him to pull her at the door of the boys dorm.
"But...Alex...thats the boys dorm. I hope you realize that I am not a boy," she said, smirking a bit as she said this.

Alex laughed at her, "That didn't stop you that night we went into the Forbidden Forest..." He winked, "I won't try anything, if you don't want me too, I swear! And I won't tell anyone!" He pleaded.

Chris didn't realise he was sitting so close to Livvy.
He smiled at her when she tokk his hand, he held it and squeezed it tight, so she wouldn't let go.
He had forgotten all about the conversation with Quentin.

Livvy smiled and looked down at the tight grip he had on her hand out of the corner of her eye, and then back to him, "Do you have any ideas Chris? You have an active imagination." she asked, with a small laugh, it was weird that she was actually hiding something from her brother.
