Jason smiled. "I believe you" He said, not wanting to ever try that. He gave her a look that said 'You've got to be kidding me'. "I'm glad" He said then smiled at her. "Usually I don't let anyone near me. How are you able to?" He asked more to himself than to anyone in paricular.

"Should I.....leave?" asked Sam raising an eyebrow. "I'm just...trying to figure you out. If you don't mind my saying, you not exactly an "average Joe". You're a bit more complex, mysterious." Great, now he thinks you're spying on him, she thought. She smiled and let out an exasperated chuckle.

Hermione entered back into the castle. She sighed and walked up the stairs to the Gryffindor common room. After saying the password, and walking through the portrait hole, she saw Ron sitting in front of the fire. She stood behind him and said in a small voice, "What are you doing?"

Jason shook his head. "No...it's fine. Stay" He said. He was intrigued by her even though he didn't show it. "I don't mind. I didn't think there was such a thing" He said smiling a bit smug. He shook his head and looked out over the lake. "The jasmin go quite well with your smile" He didn't relize what he said til it was too late. He looked down, slight embarressment on his face.

Sam blushed scarlet as he said that. She saw the embarrassment on his face and smiled. "So...." she said feeling very nervous to be saying this, "Was what the bat said about you liking me true?" she asked raising her eyebrows.

Ron jumped slightly and turned around. He smiled when he saw Hermione. "Just thinking" He said. "When did you enter?" He asked her softly and sat on one of the couches.

"Sorry, did I startle you?" Hermione asked, smiling slightly at Ron. "What are you thinking about?" She asked, sitting on one of the chairs opposite to him. "I entered about a second ago, after I went for a walk."

"I'm sorry I asked you that," said Sam. "I was just wondering. By the way, that bat scared me witless." She looked at him hopefully, wishing he'd answer her question.

Hermione smiled, and laughed at Ron's joke. "I'm quite sure I'm not." She said with a smile, and then looked at her hands. For some reason she found it awkward to talk to Ron, she'd never felt like that. She looked back up at Ron and said with slight sarcasm in her voice, "So, um, enjoying the company back at Hogwarts?" She quickly put on a smile as an attempt to hide the sarcasm.

He smiled and laughed. He looked up at her. "Yes. I like you a lot" He said and smiled. His smile is a little funny so he'd understand if she laughed.

Hermione laughed, "Yeah, old friends. They're great. She smiled and said, "Nothing's bothering me. Promise." Then she looked around the common room. There was hardly anyone in there. "What do you think Harry's up to?"

Hermione looked at Ron, trying to figure out what he was thinking. She looked at her hands, and then back up at Ron again. "Look, I need to know something." She said sighing. "Is there anything between you and Tara?" Her voice was soft, and her face was rid of all emotion.

Hermione was slightly relieved at his answer. "Okay. If you're sure." She stood up slowly, and asked, "Want to go for a walk, or see what the others are up to?"

Ron smiled and stood up. "Of course" He said answering both sugestions. "See what the others are up to. Have you seen Sam, she's been gone for a while?" He asked.

Hermione smiled, "Sure." She said taking a few steps forward. "Um, yeah, I saw her before I left the Great Hall. She went in the opposite direction to me. She might've gone to see that boy." She tried to think of what his name was, but failed. "I can't remember his name." She said, going slightly pink. She had never really spoken to that boy, so she didn't really take much notice of who he was.

Sam's heart skipped a beat as he said he liked her. Of course, she didn't show it at first, but she was happier than ever on the inside. Her face slowly spread into a gentle smile. "I...I like you, too," she stuttered looking down at the skirt of her dress instead of at him. Sam was simply too shy for her own good, sometimes.

Jason smiled when she said she liked him. He understood her shyness as was his problem as well at times. He had lost all track of time. "It's almost time for class, we shoud go" He said looking out at the lake. He waited for her. "Close your eyes. Trust me" He said and lead her down the stairs of wind he always made. When they were on solid ground he smiled. "Your now safe on the ground" He told her.

"Uhh, Jason," said Sam with a slight laugh. "It's Saturday. No class." She closed her eyes while still shaking with giggles and followed Jason down the steps. She breathed a sigh of relief when she was safely on the ground. "Thanks," said Sam giving him a quick kiss on the cheek.
