Candace noticed his mimic and smothered a laugh. "Well, I thank you for it... although I'm not sure that it suits me as much as you say it does," she said, trying out the sound of it in her mind. "C... hmm, C..." she said aloud, trying the name on her tongue. "Interesting, I'll keep it in mind," she said with a laugh. "You are the first to think of that one though! A friend at home used to call me Can, but it didn't last long," she said, remembering how she had threatened her friend before she had stopped. She laughed once more at his comment. "Oh, it wasn't that bad!" she chided. "Well, at least my spot wasn't," she added as an afterthought. She remained quiet as they continued to walk, and glanced up as Ryan spoke. "I know, it is absolutely beautiful... not to say that home isn't!" she quickly amended. She quieted as Ryan mentioned home, and for the first time began to feel a bit homesick. "Well, I miss my family, and friends, back at home. I miss the competitions as well," she continued with a smile. "But I am having a good time. It is an adventure, a new challenge... with new places to go and people to meet!" she said, her eyes shining as she thought about it. She turned to look at him and sobered at his expression. "What do you miss at home? Probably family, friends, a girlfriend?" she teased, mainly with the last one.


Darren's frown deepened. "I don't like the silence... nor the absence of pokemon," he said, his eyes darting around the forest. "I know we're in another world... but it feels so different because of that factor," he pointed out quietly. He nimbly avoided a branch that was in his path, not wanting to make excess noise.

As Cadance laughed he couldn't help thinking that was one thing that he loved about her. Loved? Hey, what was he thinking about? He couldn't think that, he was her leader. Ryan shrugged off his thoughts smiling wide at Cadance saying "How come your other nickname didn’t last long? And feel free to come up with a nickname for me if you want." They continued to walk alongside each other as Cadance chided that the other camp site wasn’t so bad Ryan grimaced saying "Well, maybe you got one of the better spots. Umeko i think slept on a rock last night and woke me up just to share her bad mood."

Okay maybe he was sensitive about complaints but around Cadance he felt that he could do that without being judged or scolded. He shook his head at the thought although he knew full well that being a leader meant that people naturally would come to him with all their problems and expect him to fix them. Some days Ryan did though wish that the members of his group weren’t as open about their thoughts.

He tried to cheer up as Cadance started talking about adventure, a new challenge and new people and places to meet. Ryan smiled at her saying "Well we’ve definitely got ourselves both an adventure and a challenge. It will be though to teach the beginners how to fight properly and to find that pokémon." As Cadance asked about what he missed at home his expression changed to something unreadable saying "Yes I miss my family and friends, and definitely the pokemon battles." Looking over at her he said "No, I don’t have a girlfriend. I haven’t had one in quite some time now actually. How about you, do you have a boyfriend at home waiting for you?"

Candace grinned. "Well, every time she called me can, I usually threatened her in some way. She finally caught on that I didn't like it," she said with a laugh. "Hmm... a nickname for you?" she said thoughtfully as she looked up at their leader. "Well, Bossman and sleepyhead come to mind... but I think Ry would work the best," she teased, but her voice got quieter as she said the last nickname.

She winced as Ryan mentioned sleeping on a rock. "Had that experience... don't want to relive it," she told him. "I'm sorry for your suffering," she said, putting a hand on his shoulder. "I probably added to her bad mood. I quietly said good morning to Holly, and I guess I woke Umeko up... sorry about that," she added, her voice sincere.

She nodded in agreement as he talked about the challenge of the new students. "Yes, but I think they're catching on quickly. They're a bright group, and they seem willing to learn," she pointed out. "It could be worse, we could be dealing with people who aren't willing to accept their pokemon at all," she said, her fingers stroking her pokeballs tenderly.

She looked up as Ryan answered her unanswered question and felt something loosen within her. Why do I care so much? she wondered, completely taken aback. It's not like I... she trailed off, not wanting to complete the thought. She smiled at Ryan's question. "I actually have three... all adorable," she said with a dreamy sigh. She glanced up to see his expression before laughing. "Well, as close as I've gotten to one, they're all Eevees," she said with a grin. "At least they were the last time I was home..." she said, surprised that this subject had come up. She hadn't been home for years, with only the occasional contact with her parents. She felt a pang at the thought that she wouldn't get to contact them for some time now that they were here. She would have to make sure she took a trip home when this was over.

Maiko nodded, "Yeah you would think more pokemon would come through that portal." She guessed their theory of how many pokemon would come through the portal after they had opened it. "This world feels boring to me." Like there was no charge, no real life on it. Like it was a dull world compared to their own.

Sophia looked at Naruto who was in her arms exhausted from the mock battle. "Good job, Naruto."

Umeko decided to take a seat on the ground trying to relax. Plus she had lost her grip on her ability and overheard certain two people talking about her. She couldn't help, but be cranky this morning. She looked up at the sky and gave a sigh trying to regain some control. She just needed to concentrate that was all.

Holly smiled at Cara, "You and Rizzle did a good job today." Cara's pokemon was not able to use Aura sphere right off the bat. It was able to detect aura and was able to start gathering it but was unable to form it into a ball. It would take time, but Rizzle did have the makings of being able to use Aura sphere. She turned her attention to the others in the group. Everyone seemed done with their training and were taking a well deserved rest. She saw Umeko sitting on the ground and walked over the her after having Aura go back into his pokeball.

The second youngest member of the group looked down and that was not Umeko. As she got closer she took off her lap coat. "You okay?"

Umeko looked up at Holly, "I'm fine just trying to keep my powers in check."

Holly knew Umeko was hiding something even though she basically admitted that she lost control of her power. She knelt down so she was level with the Magenta haired hair. "Come on Umeko something is bothering beyond your power control problem." She placed a hand on the girl's shoulder, "You know you can tell me anything."

"I don't know what's wrong," Umeko closed her eyes and kept a tight control over her power. She could be feeling worse, he could be here. The he she was taking about was the last member of their group...and he is a major pain in the backside. Thankfully he was sick when this whole thing came up. He was related to someone named Harley and was a little what was crazy. He constantly annoyed her so she was jumping for joy when she found out he was not coming.

Holly raised an eyebrow, but did not say anything right away, "So its safe to assume that this has nothing to do with Kyo?"


"NO!..no, I'm glad that weirdo did not come along." Ume glared up at the sky. She then closed her eyes, "I'm sorry, its just that I overheard something from Candace and Ryan talking." She looked down, "I guess tomorrow I should just say nothing even if I do not get a lot of sleep."

Holly nodded her head understanding what was going on, "Everyone in our group knows that your not a morning person. So don't worry about it." She looked around and then back to Umeko, "You know its only be one day since we left our world and I miss it." She had not been to her home in a long time even before that. She hadn't talked to her parents since she left home and she wondered how they were doing. "You know its been 10 years since I spoke to my parents or any of my siblings...Now I wish I did, there is a chance that we won't be able to go home." The portal could close naturally while they go about their mission stranding them on this world. "I know you had a hard time with your family, but do you miss them?"

Umeko continued to look down, "I miss my dad...he always went out of his way to encourage me to be a pokemon trainer. To do my best, he was there when I became Pokemon champion." She wished she could have said goodbye to him before leaving, but her mother and brothers probably would have commented on her bad choice of career. No her mother would probably say she was a disappointment. She wondered what her youngest sibling was doing. She would be old enough to be going on a journey. She probably didn't become a trainer or she would have found out.

Cara looked at Rizzle for a moment,with a smile of gratitude.Rizzle hadnt made her first go so hard."Thank you..you were very well behaved."she said,stroking behind Rizzles ear.She seemed to love that the most,and she deserved it as she was very well behaved and did exactly what Cara had told her.So it looked hopeful.Cara looked at Holly,"Thanks..she didnt do to bad either.."she said,smiling at Holly."Thank you.."she said,with a smile of gratitude also.

She watched Holly walk over to Umeko and start talking to her.Even by the way Umeko was stood,Cara could see something was wrong.Cara sighed and walked over to Sophia."How did it go?"she asked,looking at her for a moment,before turning back to Rizzle and stroking her behind her ear again.She loved it.

Sophia smiled at Cara feeling pretty good. "It was good...I didn't win, but from what Umeko said and Rusty I did good." Naruto did all the work all she had to do was call out what to do. Of course she had to work at thinking of plans in the middle of a battle. It was hard, but she thought she did well considering that she had just gotten Naruto yesterday. "What about you?"

Persephone stood off from the group with Electra. She was by herself which was not new, but for now she liked it just fine. She did good from what her teacher had said. Electra seemed to enjoy it well enough. She looked up to the castle and sighed, there was no way any of them could go back to being normal witches or in Teddy's case wizards. In thinking this she accioed some paper and a pencil and began to write a letter to her grandfather. Sure the Headmaster said he would tell their families, but she wanted to let him know a little more personally.

Patience smiled as she looked around at everyone. Ryan and Candace looked like they were having a fun conversation and she could tell Umeko was having some trouble. She saw Holly talking to her and decided she would talk to her friend later.

Dominique was sitting against a tree with Demon in her lap. He was the most loveing creature she had ever had but he only seemed to be that way toward her. She smiled as he watched everyone around them closely.

"Well at least you know he can't come here, due to him being sick and all." Holly said trying to make Umeko feel better at least in the slightest. "I'm going to see if my phone works, maybe we can handle some family issues we are seem to be having." She got up and headed for her bag giving Patience a glance telling her she was free to go over and talk to Umeko. She just wished she could tell her to avoid the topic of Kyo. He one only one part of the problem.

Umeko kept looking down just trying to keep a center in her mind. She did not have this much trouble keeping herself centered since she was four years old. That was when her father taught her to control what she was doing. Holly was probably right about Kyo dumb dumb not being here.

In the distance a figure that was shadowed by the sun jumped through the air. It seemed like he came out of no where, but he had actually come from somewhere. He had come out of the portal that the trainers and Team Comet had come through. Unlike the others he landed gracefully to the ground. The figure then dusted himself off and headed away from the portal.

The man that came through the portal thought himself to be quite the looker and a charmer. In reality he was more like a schemer and a vengeful person, the second one being a little more under the skin. His name, Kyoshiro Niou, called Kyo, Kyo dumb-dumb, Pretty boy, and Shiro-chan. Shiro was often his nickname because it meant white and chan was a girl honorfix. Shiro was a fitting name because of his very pale skin and the pale looks on the faces of his opponents. He also wore a lot of what, usually jeans. the Chan part was because he looked more like a girl then most people. It was genetic, Harley looked similar to him. Kyo dumb-dumb was what he was dubbed by his rival and enemy Umeko Saito.

His purple hair drifted through the wind as he walked, the only thing that marred his naturally good looks was a white mask covering his face. He is sick like he told the others, a first time for everything, but he had come to help. Although he enjoyed getting under Umeko's skin. After as successful jump through the portal all that is left is to find Umeko and the others.

Without anybody noticing Rusty jumped on his Salemence and climbed up towards the sky to be amazed by a wonderful view. He loved doing that, riding his Salemence and just hanging around with him.

Teddy stood up and had a great time. He then gathered his things and said, "I am heading for the kitchen, does anyone wanted something?" he asked.

Ryan knew Cadance fairly well but not enough to know that she had a friend who had used to call her Can. He couldn't, but wince a little at the first two nicknames that she listed. They didn't exactly sound flattering or something he wanted the whole group to start calling him. The last one had a nice ring to it. He tried it out loud "Ry.. Yes, I like the sound of that.. Thanks C.." Deciding to skip over talking about Umeko he instead said "So how much further is the other spot? I'm getting a bit tired." Hiking through this rough land was very different from his own world. Ryan was about to raise a confused eyebrow as Cadance said three boyfriends but then he started to understand.. She was referring to her Eevees. Laughing a little he said "Did you bring anyone of the little cute ones on the trip?" Ryan stopped for a moment to listen but heard nothing..Glancing over at Cadance he asked "Isn't it awfully quiet here?"

Izzie had played a little with Pipa before she let her new friend back into her pokeball to rest after the training. It had been really hard but since Ryan gave her compliments after she guessed that she must have done something right. As Izzie strolled through the campsite she saw Umeko sitting alone looking a bit troubled. She didn't want to intrude but maybe the older girl could use some company. Going over to Umeko she said silently.."Umeko? Are you all right?"

Maiko stayed quiet after her comment about this world being boring. She could hear something heading their way and touched Darren's arm. She then got ready to send out one of her pokemon in case she needed to.

Holly shook her head to Teddy's question. Right now she did not feel like eating. She was more worried about Umeko.

Persephone finished her letter and folded it before putting it away. She looked up at Teddy and shook her head. Besides if she did get hungry she had some food and a few candies. Chocolate frogs and so on.

Sophia pulled out a Chocolate frog and let it have its own jump before catching it. "No I'm good, Teddy."

Umeko placed her hands on her head trying to use some exercises to gain some footing with her powers. She had her eyes closed, but knew someone was heading her way. It was one of the new trainers, "Remember I told you yesterday about my powers...well right now its out of sorts." Along with some other things.

Candace laughed softly as Ryan winced at the first two nicknames. She had really intended them as a joke, and she was glad that he hadn't liked either one. She would have questioned his personality. "No problem Ry," she said, grinning at the use of his new nickname. They continued to walk, and she looked up at his next question. "Not too far, if you look at those two trees right up there, it is just a little past that," she said, hoping that a distance marker would help. She shook her head at his next question. "No, all three are at home, or the last time I was home they still were," she said, her voice becoming monotonous as she spoke of home. It really had been too long since she had been there. Something within her cause Candace to slow her step down, so that she was more aware of her surroundings. There was an unusual rustle ahead of them and she frowned, her fingers tracing over her pokeballs in habit. She looked over at Ryan and nodded. "Yes, it is... it is so strange," she said, looking around. She took a step closer to Ryan unconsciously, her hand still trailing by her pokeballs.

Darren could faintly hear voices, ones that sounded strange but also containing a dialect close to their own. His eyes narrowed at the sound and he tried to walk softer in the ground. Unfortunately, he stepped on a dry branch and it cracked- the sound seeming to erupt through the wood. He silently cursed and continued to walk forward, his hand to his pokeballs just in case.

Maiko cringed when she heard the cracking of the branch. She wanted to hit Darren for stepping on it, but she knew deep down he had not meant to. She followed behind him, but now was watching each step she took. The closer they got the clear the voices got and they sounded familiar. They sounded like two of the trainers she had come across in her own home town, Hearthome. They ruined her plans or rather Team Comet's plans. She pulled out one of her pokeballs ready to battle. If it was them she would get a little revenge. Provided Darren let her, he might want to pull a Team Rocket and run...although it was not in his personality.

Coming from another side a certain purple haired man was heading from the side of Candace and Ryan and of Team Comet. Of course he did not know that he was heading for them. His thoughts were on meeting up with the group in the most shocking manner as possible.

Rusty, after doing some laps around the castle, let out his pokemons. "I think my pals needs some fresh air." so he threw 5 other pokeballs and red lights started to flash and came out a Staraptor, a Charizard, a Dragonite
his Ninjask, and his Xatu. They seem to be very happy and healthy. But of course, from the likes of Rusty, who was trained by the best and from generation of the best Professors in Pokemon research, he won't let his Pokepals to be malnourished.

Izzie sat down next to Umeko on the ground. Taking up a stick she made circles on the ground while asking "The power you have to hear people's thoughts?" Stopping to look up at the far older girl she asked "How out of sorts? Its not dangerous to you i hope." Izzie didn't really understand how Umeko's unusual gift worked and if that gift/power didn't function properly she figured that it couldn't be any good at all.

Ryan continued to walk alongside Cadance with his now resting on his pokeball belt. He had the strong feeling that something was wrong in this part of the world. As Cadance pointed out the direction of the other possible campingsite he was a little relieved. Hearing the sudden russtle in the trees almost made him reach for his steel pokemon. When Cadance spoke next Ryan got the feeling that maybe they should have brought some of the other's with them.

He didn't tell C that though since she seemed anxious as it was. Ryan was about to tell her something fun when he heard a branch break nearby. Reaching for one of his pokeballs he looked over at Cadance saying quietly "We are not alone in this part. Keep your hand on your pokeballs and stay alert and ready. I think there is someone or something coming in our direction."

Darren didn't look over at Maiko, knowing she would be unhappy. He wasn't too happy with himself either, but there wasn't any point regretting the past- especially since it was irreversible. He watched his step even closer, his ears picking up some slight conversation. The voices sounded vaguely familiar, and as he glanced over at Maiko, he noticed recognition evident on her face. With hand signals, he asked 'Do you know them?' It was a handy thing the two had developed some time ago, and it had worked on many a mission. One reason why they were at the top of the fighting force.

Candace walked quietly along the grass, barely causing a whisper as she lifted each foot and placed it down again. This was something she had learned throughout her travels, especially if she wanted to study a pokemon in their natural habitat- among other things. Her heart raced only slightly, the expectation of something elevating it, or at least that's what she attributed it to. Her hand was already at her belt, and she had already unhooked Blaiken's pokeball from her belt. She nodded once, her eyes scanning the forest close to them. It could be some creature that had scared all of the other creatures away, but she wasn't willing to take that chance. Looking up at Ryan, she quickly shot him a wink as she walked along the forest's edge, all of her senses aware.

Umeko nodded, "Yes that power." She rubbed her forehead where she could feel a headache already developing, "Its out of sorts enough to be a problem to me and not to anyone else. If it got that out of control you would be experiencing a major headache as well." She did not want to mention that if the certain psychic pokemon were out, like her own, that they would amplify her power on to others.

Maiko nodded and gave a responding hand signals to Darren. She had to admit his idea for hand signals was a good on. 'Yeah you remember that mission in Hearthome...they were the ones who ruined our groups plans there. Or at least two of them.' She kept listening for their voices, before signing to him again. 'If I had to guess one of them is the leader of the group...that is the male voice you hear. The other one I think is the baby of the group.'

Holly stretched her tired body and felt some of the knots in her back pop. She closed her eyes for a moment to clear her mind. She then felt something in her bag give a vibrating sound. Reaching for her bag she pulled out a video phone that only the other professor's used. It was odd since she thought it would not work since she was in a different dimension. She flipped it open and saw it was Professor Oak, Gary Oak.

They only talked for a few minutes, talking about how things were going so far and how his little boy was doing. She told him that he was worrying too much and that Rusty fine and was an adult. That he did not need to be looked after so much. She did tell Gary that his son showed promise as a teacher. That caused a shocked look on Gary's face. She told him about how the extra pokemon chose their trainers and that they were from this dimension. He told her that he would check in later and hung up soon after. Probably to see if she did anything wrong by letting those pokemon take trainers from this place. She sighed and placed the phone back in her bag. She avoided that talking about Umeko because the girl did not need someone looking over her shoulder.

Dominique wasnt really sure what was going on now. Everyone seemed to be off on their own, so she motioned to Demon. After they got a good distance from the group she started practicing with her Umbreon. It was probably wise for her and Demon to figure out the best way the two of them worked together.


Patience watched as everyone took to their own devices as usual. She smiled slightly as she watched Ryan and Candance walk off toward the woods. Her own pokemon were either sleeping or playing with one another. She giggled at their antics and sat down to make herself comfortable. When she was, she started to hum a happy tune. The grass around her grew steadily greener and the flowers began to bloom.

Darren's eyes narrowed as he read and understood Maiko's signals. He glanced out toward the two, who now seemed to be on their guard. However, they were both walking past himself and Maiko. It would be perfect for an ambush from behind. 'Well, I think it is an excellent time to take our revenge... If we take out the leader, the rest will be lost.' He chuckled at the girl being called the baby of the group, but didn't want to waste time sharing those thoughts with Maiko. 'Get a pokemon ready, we strike on three' he signaled to his partner. He quickly removed a pokeball from his hip and pressed the button, enlarging the ball. Then, he glanced toward Maiko. '1... 2...'

Maiko gave a silent laugh enjoying the fact that they were going to get revenge and looked down at the pokeball in her hand. They would pay for the humiliation she suffered in her own home town. It was Embarrassing to come back and say she had failed there especially when she said that she would come back with a absolute victory. She enlarged her pokeball and got herself ready to move as soon as he said three.

Rusty was playing with his pals when he noticed something on Professor Holly's hand. Is that what I think it is? And it sure is. She was holding a cellphone from their world. And is he hearing the voice right? It is someone he knew. Rusty only shook his head. His father. He was a worrier. He then smiled. But how come the cell phones are working in here? He then approached the professor.

"Professor Holly, is that who I think who is calling? That is my dad right?" he smiled. "How come that the cellular phones from our world works in here?" he added grabbing a cellular phone from his backpack.

Teddy returned from the kitchen holding mountains of food. "Is anyone hungry yet?" he asked. Following him is his Gardevoir.

Holly looked up at Rusty and nodded, "Yes it was." At his next question she pulled the phone back out again. She then tried to use it, like calling Gary back...and it was not working. She sighed and closed the phone. "I think...now this is just a theory...but the portal must be putting out low waves from our dimension. That in turn must have caused the phone to work. Because now I can not even get through...its saying that we are out of the area in which to call." After finishing she put her phone away again.

Maybe once Umeko was okay again she would ask her to find a more conclusive reason to why the phone worked. It could be a number of reason why it worked one moment and not the next. Her theory sounded promising of all the options she could come up with. Holly gave a small smile, "I told your dad about you teaching...he seemed shocked...I avoided some topics." Like Umeko and she wished she avoided the whole thing about the pokemon choosing people from this dimension as their trainers.

Sophia saw Teddy coming back with a ton of food. It took a few minutes for her stomach to register it but when it did it gave a small growl.

"3!" Darren said, and instantly he activated his pokeball, his Rhyperior charged out, running forward to cut off the two trainers. He quickly activated two more of his pokeballs, his Machoke and Donphan running up to support his Rhyperior. "Well, it seems that we have had a couple of rats on our tail, and didn't even know it," Darren said, striding out between two of his pokemon. "Or should I say a rat and a pinkie," he said, using the name of a baby mouse. "What do we owe the honor of your presence in our territory?" he asked cooly, although his eyes were hard and cold.

"Why YOU-!" Candace quickly bit back her temper, although it still burned within her like Ember's mane and tail. She regretted leaving the Rapidash back at the campground, but knowing the mare, she would sense trouble. Candace clenched her fists, waiting for Ryan's signal to unleash her Blaziken... and her temper. She recognized these Team Comet members, and it irked her to no end that they had snuck up on her. They would receive justice, that was sure... especially for calling her a pinkie. Especially in front of- but she cut that thought off and focused on the problem before them.

Ember had been dozing at the campground, and lifted her head lazily as Teddy came back to the campsite. She extended her neck and began to nibble on the grass that surrounded her. Suddenly, a shock went through her and a scent hit her at the same time. The Rapidash was on her feet in a second, her mane and tail flaring up higher than anyone had ever seen. She called out and looked around the campground, knowing she had to tell someone there was trouble... before running to her mistress.

Maiko smirked as she followed Darren's lead. She had taken out only one but quickly took out two more pokeballs. She knew the girl was a fire type while the leader of the group was more rounded. Icey, her Froslass, Dancer, her Hitmontop, and Spiritus, her Mismagius joined her leaders pokemon. She kept quiet, but a smirk was on her face. She was already enjoying this, especially when the little girl, got upset. She gave a playful wave before speaking for the first time, "Miss me?"

Holly saw Ember acting strangely and felt uneasy. Something was happening and with Ember acting like this, it could only mean that Candace was in some type of trouble. She stood up and looked over their new trainers, and cursed their luck. Their pokemon would not be ready to take on anything at the moment, because of training. She looked at Patience, Rusty, and Umeko, the last one not mentally ready for a fight. "Patience, Rusty, I need you to watch these guys, and try and get Umeko on stable ground." She hated it that way, but Umeko needed to go back to her usual self. She took off after Ember, making sure that her pokeballs were with her.

Off in the distance Kyo heard Ember call out, he knew it was Ember since that Rapidash always seemed to tattle on him when he was up to something. He tried his best to follow the sound.

Darren smirked at the young girl's reaction. "What? Didn't like being called little? Sorry darling, its the truth," he said with a sly grin. He watched the two people move closer and smirked. "That's cute... maybe we can make that permanent," he said with a laugh.

Candace glanced up at Ryan, wondering why he was being so quiet. It was hard enough restraining her temper, but if she had to talk then there was an even greater chance of her saying something, or worse, losing it. She heard another voice and glared at Maiko. "Like a pebble in my shoe," she replied to the girl, the memories of their encounters together coming back easily. Sure enough, her pokemon soon followed. "Ryan, attack or remain as we are?" she asked their leader in a hushed tone. "Or delay... Ember is bound to have sensed this, she'll be here-" she stopped as she saw the form of her Rapidash coming over the hill. It was a slight relief to her, to at least have her long time companion by her side.
