Remus smiled at Nicnevin, much like the way a parent does a child. "Good," he said when she agreed not to go down to the bottom of the lake for seaweed.
He chuckled at Nic's comments about Padfoot's 'hair'. "Oh, come now," he said in a mock serious voice, "You're going to hurt his self esteem if you keep on talking about him like that."
He wondered why Lily had decided not to join them, but did nothing about it. If she wanted to swim, she would.
"I'm alive!" he exclaimed, flailing his arms about as though he were some sort of undead monster. |

Sirius's eyes were narrowed halfway as he was swimming only feet from the two, seaweed covering half his head. "Hey thanks." He remarked rather saracastically.
Gingerly, and with much effort, he picked the slimely green plant from his hair and tossed it to the side. "Hurting my self esteem has nothing to do with it Moony!" He shot back laughing. "Now my hair on the other hand.." Only imagining what that plant could do to his hair irked him slightly.
Since he was in a position of great interest, Sirius decided that with Nicevin inbetween the two of them, the joke was on her. When he figured a good point when she would not be looking at him, he quietly swam up behind her and wrapped his arms around her stomach, holding tightly. "Aha!" He looked at her, grey eyes flashing as bright as his grin. "And what are you going to do now?" He teased.
(Sorry I couldn't put much into. Internets off at home until I have money to pay it.. so I'm using the schools computer. I'll be on again Wednesday..)

"You're welcome, Padfoot. I personally think you looked dashing," Remus replied, with vast amounts of sarcasm.
Moony ducked a little, as some of the seaweed had flown close to him. "You're bloody hair will be just fine. Who knows, maybe seaweed will make it all bouncy or something," he said, shrugging a little.
Remus chuckled a bit as Sirius grabbed Nicnevin, though he was slightly peeved by the bodily contact again, he did not, however, let it show on his face. | |

"You scared me slightly Paddy," She said, her tinkling laughter floating inbetween the words. Nic tried to move her arms, but knew if she used too much force she could hurt Sirius, so she let him have his fun. "Do? "I rather doubt that this stuff can make my hair any healthier." He glared, rolling his eyes and yet still grinning. He loosened his grasp on Nicnevin slightly, keeping her close though knowing she could easily get away.
"It's nice to know that, even if I do have more confidence then the whole school, that you're both helping with my self-esteem." Sirius laughed at this, partially referring to the hair comments. He let his head rest against the top of hers and his eyes wander over to Moonys. Was that a look of jealousy? Nah... it couldn't..
Well, actually, it could. Considering the recent stray of events, Sirius considered how Remus may actually feel for Nicnevin.. comparing so to his own feelings. It didn't look good.. When he though about the circumstances, he looked away from Remus, and down at Nicnevin. It wasn't really possible to be anything more than a friend to her... "Well, I'm glad you're comfortable." He smiled at her, pulling her into a gentle hug, then letting her go.
"So.." He was willing to let the subject in his mind stray as he looked around, spotting Lily. "How about we see what Evans thinks of the cold water?" A smirk appeared and his eyes grew mischevious. He looked to Remus, with 'What-do-you-say?' | |

Nic snorted softly. "True, if it got any healthier it would get up and walk away from your big head," She said, smiling slyly.
"Psh, With an ego as big as yours, you need some down-time everyonce in a while," Nic giggled, while poking Sirius in the arm.
"You should be," She said grinning. "Because if I wasn't I could easily push you off." She hugged him back as best se could from her angle then craned her neck so she could see his face. "But are you?" She asked, knowing that her body temperature would stay cold.
Nick's thin arched eyebrows shot up, and a slanted grin replaced her giddy one. She knew that look, and boy did she love it! Nic knew a prank was in progress in Padfoots mind.
"Shall we, bring her in?" Nic asked, one eyebrow raised. | |

Sirius smiled down upon Nicnevin and her seemingly child-like features. For a moment, he took time to study them.. almost as if to remember them. "I am." He replied finally, and rather truthfully since the cold no longer bothered him much.
With another glance at Remus, and the grin not faultering from his face a second, he let go of her and started towards the shore. "Come on then." He said turning back to see if they would follow. | |

Remus's eyes flickered from annoyance to acceptance, and perhaps even the slightest amount of amusement. Nicnevin was comfortable in Sirius's arms. Well fine. Remus would get over it eventually. "She's kind of cold," he commented, stating the obvious.
At Padfoot's suggestion, Moony thought it over for a moment. It would prove to be a good distraction for the two. "Yeah, alright, let's go," he muttered, swimming off towards Lily. | |

Nicnevin stuck out her tongue at Sirius and took off towards the shore.
She dove under, and swum under the boys, at full speed so she would reach the shore, and Lily, before them.
Nic climbed up a rocky ledge instead of just swimming to the surface, and appeared a few feet away from Lily, and her own things.
She emerged out of the water dripping wet and quickly grabbed her wand to dry herself before she got Lily annoyed.
Nic grabbed a pair of worn out jean shorts that she only ever wore on those deathly hot days in the summer and sat down by Lily, wringing her hair out with her hands.

Lily was lost within her thoughts as she continued to watch the night sky. She couldn't help but feel a little disappointed with herself, since she wasn't be very nice to her friends.

Nic smiled at Lily and brushed her apology aside. "Don't worry about it," She said. "Is anything bothering you?"
As Nic waited for her to answer she stretched her legs and crossed her ankles so that only one of her bare feet touched the prickly perfect grass. She watched the boys swimming their way over, slow and very mortal.
She turned back to Lily and blushed realising that she had been watching the guys a second too long... | |

Sirius reached shore, minutes later after Nicnevin, and stood to wade out of the shallow water. He really did regret this move, for as soon as his wet skin hit the dry air, he felt his body react to the cold and goosepimples formed all over his skin.
With teeth chattering, he walked towards his own wand and dried himself quickly. Then, all warm and comfortable, back in his deserted clothing, he started towards Lily and Nicnevin, walking slowly awaiting Remus to catch up. | |

Remus swam as quickly as his mortal arms and legs could carry him. Though, that did not stop the boy from arriving at the edge of the lake a few moments behind everyone else.
