Nic smiled at Remus's concern. Always the good guy, never wanting to get in trouble, but always to blame. And always the one to stop it too late, she thought grimly, her own ridiculousless caught in her mind.
"I was only joking Moony," She said, smiling. She was slightly surprised that he had overreacted like that, but she would let it slide. Perhaps something was on his mind tonight. As soon as she the thought flashed through her head, Nic glanced at Meg, innocently scrawling something down a few feet away. She shook the thought out of her head.

"Oh please do!" She exclaimed, excited now. "Don't let that stop you," She said, wondering if he would catch the hidden meaning. Then she let on to the less ridiculous option. "Just accio you're shorts," and grinned.

Remus's eyes were still on Nicnevin, though narrowed in suspicion now. "Oh, I see," he said in a low voice, looking down at his shoes, his hair covering his eyes again. He had reacted badly to that. It was a joke. Right. Don't do it again, he told himself sharply. You'll look like an idiot.
Nicnevin's loud request made Remus jump a bit, and he looked up from his toes slowly. "Summon my shorts?" he repeated, staring at Nic with a somewhat blank look. "I guess that could work. Perhaps ... But don't you think someone may notice flying pants?" he said, shaking his head.

Nicnevin fumbled with the singled piece of kelp that had decided to live on the rock she was leaning on. She felt embarassed for making Remus embarassed, a common feeling she felt in his presence nowadays. She decided not to answer, so that she wouldn't make the situation any worse.

Nic watched Remus with a slightly worried expression, and swam towards him, away from her rock. She sat on the rocky ledge, quite close to where he and Sirius and James were situated.
"Of course it'll work," She said, close enough that she could touch him. In the past she probably would, but now she was suddenly a lot more shy around him than she used to be. She felt that familiar crooked grin play up onto her face before she spoke. "You never know unless you try," she prompted.

Sirius looked down at his clothing, pulling his shirt off from his skin with the tips of his fingers. "Nice." He muttered, feeling cold and wet and not finding the situation very humorous at the moment. To the others, he might've looked like a very wet dog. "I thought you would." He then replied to Nicnevin, shaking his head and heaving a great sigh. "But you..." He pointed a finger at Remus accusingly. He looked from Remus to Nicnevin, his eyes dancing with his inside laughter.

At the sound of firewhiskey he felt his head jerk, and his posture straightened a little. "I wouldn't think you would carry something on you like that." He said, almost sounding offended. "But neverless, who knows with you." He was speaking his mind out loud, taking a few steps towards her, and going to sit on the grass nearby. He looked up at her mused.

"You want us to go in and swim with you." The words he had spoken then came out slow for he was processing them clearly as his mind didn't seem to work that fast. "And I bet that was you're whole plan in the first place, eh?" His eyes narrowed, and he stood again. "But.. we are already wet. I don't see what could hurt now.." He grinned and looked over at the other two.

Nic pouted, then smiled again. "Of course it's funny Siri," She said. "Besides, now you are already wet..." She let the sentence drag off and ran a stone cold hand through her wet hair.

Nic felt her smile broaden. "Perhap's Moony will lighten up eventually," She said. "You know, perhaps some of us will wear off on him." Nic turned to Sirius, and pulled herself halfway up so her feet were still submerged and she was leaning on her arm.

Nic raised one eyebrow, a mischevious sneer plastered on her face. "Of course I want you to join me," She said, watching him carefully. "Why else would I go through the whole bother of getting you all wet? Company just makes these midnight swimming excursions more fun!"

Remus pouted and sighed heavily. Certainly someone would notice his swimming trunks flying out to the lake, and follow them to the group.And what if it was the caretaker that saw them? Moony did not want to think of the amount of detentoins he would get in result. "Fine, fine," he said after thinking it over. "Accio swimming trunks," he said, pointing his wand in the general direction of his dormitory.
The pants seemed to come out of nowhere, as they flew towards Remus. He caught them easily.
Remus lifted innocent-looking eyes to Sirius. "Sorry," he said defensively, "It was a bit funny, you have to admit."
Moony pulled his trunks on under his robes quickly, then removed his robes, undershirt and shoes. It was very cold out without his clothes on. Tentatively, he approached the water, dipping a few toes in. Instantly, he pulled them out. It was freezing. "Bloody heck, that's cold," he said, staring at Nicnevin. How was she not a frozen lump of ice yet?

Nicnevin grinned as she watched Remus' trunks fly over from the school. It appeared they chose to follow by jumping directly out the window instead of choosing the riskier route down the hall. She laughed at Remus's embarassment, and laughed again at his surprise to the cold water.
She reached out and placed an icy hand on his, so he could feel her skin. She was surprised that he forgot she was immortal.
"Not normal, remember?" She asked, a sly grin appearing on her face. She winked at him and muttered, "half breed..."
She removed her stone hard hand off his and placed it back on her own leg. She didn't feel the cold, not like he did anyway.

"Of course." Sirius grumbled. He then noticed a flying pair of swimming-shorts flying past him and quirked an eyebrow. "I didn't think.. Well now Moony.. I'm.. suprised." He stuttered, on the verge of laughter. It wasn't like Remus to do something so.. well mainly against the rules.

"Well.." Becoming hesitant at first, for a mere nanosecond, he looked down at his soaping clothing and thought better of it. After all, he would be swimming in the lake with a girl. And not just his mates. "..That does it. If Moony's in, then I am too." He then began to shred of his robe and shirt, not bothering to rid of his pants seeing as they were already soaked. Kicking off his shoes and socks, he stood, half-naked and cold. "Bloody heck is right!" The thick coldness of the night air had hit his flesh at once and he was starting to shiver some. "Alright, I'm in!"

Sirius made a mad dash towards the water and plunged forward, nearly diving into the frosted water. Merging back above, he shook his hair of the water and opened his eyes. "Cold." He said merely, shaking his head but shrugging his shoulders at the same time.

Nic clapped her hands in delight and pushed herself off the ledge and back into the freezing water. She submerged fully, and felt her feet touch the bottom before she rocketed herself upwards, and surfaced. She pushed the water out of her eyes with her hands and grinned at Sirius, before swimming towards him.
She nodded as she got closer to him, her mischevious slanted grin plastered on her face. "So I've been told," She said, smiling still. She winked at him, then turned back to face Remus.
"Hurry up Moony!" She exclaimed.

"Yes, you're very cold. I forgot," Remus muttered, feeling Nicnevin's skin brushing his, "Lucky you." He edged nearer and nearer to the water, until he was standing with the very tips of his toes in the deep blue liquid. Even that made shivers run down his spine. Just do it.
"Sirius, you seem to be rubbing off on me," he said, indicating his swimming trunks and shaking his head. He raised his eyebrows when Sirius plunged into the water. "I told you it was cold," he said teasingly, shifting slightly so that his ankles were in the water now. "I think you're insane, mate," he muttered, pushing himself further into the lake.
He glared a Nicnevin in a playful way and mouthed "fine," be fore backing up a few paces. He ran full speed towards the lake, and jumped in, sinking a few feet, then shooting upwards. He pushed his soaking hair from his eyes and looked at Nicnevin, rubbing his arms hoping they'd warm up just a little.

"Very cold indeed," She answered, her eyes boring into Remus. "Nearly bloodless, don't you think?" She asked, and chuckled softly.

Nic grinned again, her eyeteeth flashing, and swam once in a circle. She was much too excited to be swimming with Sirius and Remus.
"Excrutiating?" She asked him, and evil grin plastered onto her face. She couldn't help but laugh at both Sirius' and Remus' expressions, they both looked as if they had dove into a lake full of glacier water. But Nic was certain there weren't any ice chunks.

All Remus could say to Nicnevin as she spoke to him was, "I need a sweater. Or seven." He was shivering from head to foot, but the cold was not quite as sharp as it had been when he first jumped in. He kept swimming around in small circles, hoping to get his blood flowing as much as possible.
"Excruciating?" Moony repeated. "Yes, quite. If only you come feel it." A lock of light brown hair fell into his face, and with a pale, shaky hand, Remus tucked it behind an ear. "If I get hypothermia, I'm blaming you guys," he mumbled bitterly, pouting in a slightly childish way.

"So I've heard," She said, still grinning. The fact that she didn't get cold was helpful, but the fact that she forever felt cold wasn't. She couldn't hug someone to warm them up for example.
Nic swam closer to him, so that she was only a foot or so away. She reached up and touched his cheek, he was already turning blue. "If only I could be mortal again..." She said slightly dazed. She shook her head and lowered her hand. She smiled apologetically at him. "You'll be fine wolf-boy," She said, grinning normally again. "You just need to toughen up."
Nic's eyes lingered on him for a second too long and she looked away embarassed. She fumbled with the string on her hip of her bikini to accupy herself.

Remus laughed humorlessly at Nicnevin's comment. It was hard to be funny when you couldn't feel your toes.
Remus followed Nicnevin's movements as she approached out of the corner of his eye. She did indeed have the grace of a vampire.
Lupin, looked Nicnevin in the eye as she spoke of being mortal. He felt a twinge of sympathy for his freind, know it was not very fun to be a halfbreed of anything.
Rubbing his hands together, Remus nodded, "Yes, alright. I'll live...perhaps." Though, he spoke less doubtfully than he did when he first felt the chill.

Nic stuck her tongue out playfully at Remus's reaction. He was such a silly boy.
She watched him, shiver, and attempt to warm up by rubbing his hands together. She watched with amazement as he just couldn't seem to get warm.
"If I could I would help," She said, still watching his hands. "But I believe I would be more of a problem... being colder than the water and all..."
She raised her eyes to meet his, and smiled shyly. "I wouldn't want my pet to cramp up," She said jokingly.

Lupin scrunched up his nose and stuck his tongue back out at Nicnevin, then winked at her. He was beginning to feel a tiny bit warmer and some of his color was coming back, no longer looking pale as a ghost.
Moony smiled at Nic when she expressed her desire to help, knowing very well that she did. "Thanks, I appreciate it," he said as his shivers subsided.
His eyebrows instantly shot up when Nicnevin said the words "my pet." Remus opened his mouth in an offended way and said, "When you say 'your pet,' you better be talking about Padfoot."

Sirius had been diving in and out of the depths of the water while Nicnevin and Remus talked. He was circulating blood as best as he could as the cold struck him in utter dislike. "Excruciating's damn right." He muttered to no one but himself.

Swimming back towards them now, and for the irony of it, dog-style, he stopped in between the two. "You're talking about me?" He said, narrowing his eyes and glancing to Remus. "Moony, what do you mean by that?" He said slowly, thinking what that could possibly mean. Him being a 'pet'. It was too cold for him to think, though he couldn't help but stick around to find out what the meaning behind what was said.

Nic squeeled and placed an icy hand on each of the boys' shoulders. She grinned wickedly and stuck her tongue out again.
"You are both my pet's silly," She started. "Siri is my playful dog-in form- and Rem is my dangerous dog-also in form. Funny how things work out isn't it?" She asked, biting her tongue. It was particularly funny because Sirius was certainly the more outgoing and possibly dangerous as a human than Remus was, but being a werewolf kinda evened up Moony's chances.
"And there is nothing wrong with being my pet," She said, pretending to be offended. "Minus the fact that I can't warm you up, can't get too close if you're bleeding, and am probably the most dangerous thing to ever cross your path."
She smiled smugly and waited for the boys to answer.

Remus rolled his eyes at Sirius, who had just joined them. "No, mate, we weren't talking about you, We meant the other Padfoot," he said sarcastically, giving Sirius a playful look. The cold water seemed to be affecting his personality.
"Niiiiiicnevin," Remus whined, shrugging the girl's ice cold hand off his shoulder. As if he wasn't freezing enough already. "Well, I don't appreciate being anyone's pet. It's not in my wolfish nature to be ruled over by a human, half vampire or not," he said in a mock childish voice. The water really was getting to his head. "And I think we're about even with the level of danger. It's only ickle Padfoot here who would hurt only a flea," he added as an afterthought.

"Eh?" Sirius tilted his head, watching Nicnevin as she spoke.

"Agh!" Was then forced from him as the cold frostiness of her hand made him jump. Grumbling, he shivered but remained where he was. "I didn't think I was a pet." He said thoughtfully. "Well as long as you don't make me wear a leash, I'll be alright with it." He grinned and glanced over at Remus. "Aha! You?! As a pet! Ya right! Like little cuddles over here could possibly like you enough to even pet him!" Pointing a cold, wet finger at Remus, he started to laugh.

He only stopped laughing when Remus made his last comment. "Oh please!" Making a 'pfft'ing sound, he shook his head and rolled his eyes. "If I can hurt you, said werewolf, than I can surely hurt a flippin' flea." Sticking out his tongue, he growled at Remus and turned away from him, bruised ego and all. Not that he was trying to impress anyone..

Remus burst out laughing. He couldn't help it. The thought of Sirius trailing after Nicnevin in a leash was just too darn funny. "Ah, man. For your birthday, Padfoot, I'm buying you a pretty collar and leash, okay?" he said between bouts of laughter. Perhaps I ought to bathe in freezing water more often, Remus thought, still chuckling.
He gave Sirius a dour scowl and rolled his eyes at him in a half joking, half serious way when he claimed to be able to hurt more than just a flea. Moony had
