Upon his return James sat beside his friends and said, "I finished. It's spectacular, and she's bound to pick me!" He thought to himself that if that letter didn't do it, then there was no way he'd ever have a chance with her.

Josh looked at her, she was over excited about meeting him."All he did was write a letter and your all crazy over it.' he said then smiling. he picked up his books and then put them in his bag. " i'll help you." he said then putting his bag over his shoulder. He leaned over and kissed her check before leaving. then he left the room without saying anything.

Jessica sat in her seat open-mouthed. She put her hand on her cheek in a bit of shock. After a minute she put her things in her bag and ran after Josh. "Josh!" She called catching up to him, "Is it.... Is it you?" She asked hesitantly.

josh looked at her then smiled." why would it be me?" he asked her. He seemed normal, just like every other day. " we should probably be walking a little faster, we dont want to be late to class." he told her." i'll walk you to yours." he offered.

Jessica could feel her cheeks getting hot and turning red. She put her head down and began to walk away mummbling, "Done foe the day. See you in the common room later." How could I be so stupid to think he actually would ask me? She thought to her self as she walked to the Gryffindor common room.

eh... well.. maybe he should of thought that one through. he caught up with her in the commons." hey , jess." he said to her ,' wait up a bit." he said catching up to her." eh... well...i was going to try to keep it a secret till the ball, and surprise you...but , i really dont like how you looked just then. Im sorry , i didnt think that one through." he said being really apologetic. hopefully she still wanted to go with him, he was really brilliant sometimes."im sorry... Do you still want to go with me?" he asked her.

Jessica smiled so wide that she was sure Josh was able to see all of her teeth. She hugged him and went on tip-toe to kiss his cheek, "Sorry I ruined your surprise." With that she went through the portrait hole and went to a sofa and sat down and motioned for Josh to join her.

well atleast she was still going with him..right. she didnt say she wasnt. he watched her to the sofa and then followed. he sat beside her then said." yeah?" he just smiled and waited for her to tell him what to do. he really wasnt a follower guy ,but he would make exceptions for her.

Jessica could feel butterflies in her stomach and her moth getting dry. "I stand by my answer. I will go with you. You, um, you. You have no idea, um," she didn't know what to say, so she just stopped talking. She cleared her throat and looked up at him, "Josh, I'm really glad I'm going with you. I told you in Charms I'd tell you what I think of the guy, right? Well, I'll tell you. I like you too; I've liked you for a while. And your letter was beautiful. I never knew you liked me. I'm really surprised."

Josh smiled , but he was sure his face was a little red. that was alot of complements ." thanks , but it helps if you have some beautiful to write about to." he said then playing with a few strands of her hair.' i had peter write it , i didnt want you to think that i just asked you because no one else had. thats why the hand writting is different." he paused for a second." third year. thats when i started liking you. I think i was finally knocked off my high horse when you beat me at grades." he said almost laughing." what about you.' he asked her.

When we got back and I saw you I realized it was because I liked you, as more than a friend. I wanted to tell you hundreds of times, but I was always too shy. Why didn't you ever tell me?"

Josh laughed," you just missed me over a break." he smiled." man, im worse then you. I saw some other guys looking at you and i didnt quite understand why i wanted to punch their faces in. i figured it out after a few weeks." he paused to think about why he hadnt told her." well, i mean your really smart, i was smart but not anything compared to you.i probably could be closer if i studied but that takes the fun out of everything. I dont know , i mean i figured i wasnt the only one who liked you, seemed kinda foolish. I figured you didnt feel the same way. i mean im nothing special. The other kids, they played qudditch, they could actually do something." he said to her." i kinda thought you deserved better then average."

Jessica couldn't explain it to herself after she had done it because it was totally out of character for her, but she did it anyway. She cupped his face in her hands, looked into his deep blue eyes, and kissed him on the lips, and said, "You are way above average."

it took josh a few seconds to realize what happed. he was the stunned one this time."thanks.." he said still staring at her." your eyes are really pretty." he said , he'd never been this close to them before. he wanted to kiss her back but he didnt want to go to crazy on her , especially on one day." well, um, i want to kiss you back , but i guess im going to ask if its alright first." he said.

she stared at her for just a second but then kissed her. he had been waiting, like she said , 4 years for this. he was sure that a teacher would bust in and ruin the moment. Then they would be stuck in detention together, but not together, and then miss the game. he liked her... but qudditch. he kissed her a few more times before pulling away." um...i really like your lips and all , but i dont want to get into trouble. Jessica laughed out loud. "Thank you, but who is going to punish you? Kids are always snogging in here. Want to go somewhere else, or do you just want to sit here and talk?" She was hopping they would sneak off to a deserted classroom and kiss there. If she would have know this was what she was waiting for, for two years, she would have admitted her feelings long ago! Granted he was her first kiss, but it was the best kiss she had ever imagined.

Not wanting to ruin two surprises in one day Jessica went up to her room and changed out of her school robes. She put on tight jeans and a tank, but put a blue hoodie over it. Then she fixed her hair just so, and put on a little make up. Then she hurried back down stairs and walked over to Josh, and with a huge grin, said, "Surprise me!"

alright." he said also having muggle clothes on. he had blue jeans and then a blue t-shirt on. He had a hoddie on the couch. " ready." he said pulling out a blind fold. he put it around her eyes then took her hand grabbing his jacket. " alright. promise i wont let you fall.' he told her guiding her around hogwarts till they got to the room of requirements. the door opend up and he pulled her through. Once they got it he led her to the entrance." alright." he said then untying the blindfold. he let his fingers drag against her neck for a few seconds . blamed it on untying the blindfold. It was basicly like a winter wonderland. " i like winter." he told her. their was a cherry tree near the corner of the room , which looked like a perfect place to hide. it was a little cold because of the ice , but he wanted to make sure she wasnt cold.

Not planning on telling either of the two who he wrote to, he stood with his arms crossed and the expression, 'I'm not telling'. He wasn't going to tell them until he knew what her response was.

And when he finally let what he had just done fully sink in, he felt kind of sick. In his mind he went back and forth on the letter he had written to her. Did what he write to her sound unlike him? Maybe it was too gentlemenish/sickly sweetish? Oh bother...

When Severus passed them to enter the next class, Sirius made sure to say rather loudly, "Oh well, I'm not entirely sure how it went. But we all know that it won't go well for ol' Snivellus here... I mean what girl in their right mind would go with him to the ball?" Cackling, he winked at James.

After getting his 'two-cents' worth of bashing in, and his mind off the letter temporarily, he followed both James and Remus to the Common Room. The quietness of the room would hopefully set ease to his mind. And he couldn't wait for her response...

Jessica gasped and looked around the room. She turned and hugged him. This is, it's, it's beautiful! I love snow! This is gorgeous!"

James laughed at Sirius. "Well ol' boy! Who did you ask? I'll tell you if you tell me," he said jokingly.
