"Sirius, don't make light of our dear friends horrible problem!" He said laughing. "Padfoot, padfoot, padfoot. Look at this lovely lot of girls," he said gesturing around the table. "Anyone of them would go with you. How do you pick? Perhaps Victoria? Or Amanda? Or Jessica?" He asked pointing at each girl as he suggested her.

Jessica turned a little red when Josh asked if she'd been asked, "Well, no. Not yet. But I hope I'll be asked."

"No! Okay, no one has asked me, and I would appreciate you being a little bit more sensitive about it!" She said. She didn't know why she was upset, but she was, so she grabbed her bag and rushed off to go to class early.

James saw Jessica's little outburst and said, "Wow boys. Guess it's hard on the girls too. Hope she gets a letter soon so she'll stop that!" He laughed as he said it, but was a little worried. If girls where already getting letters that would mean he would have to hurry up and writ one to Lily, but he wanted it to be perfect and that would take time, time he didn't seem to have.

Remus snapped his head up from his toast at the arrival of his two best friends and looked around at them both. "What?" His eyes darted between the two. "Of course I can write a letter... at least, I'm pretty positive of it... I mean... I..." Failing for words, he made a grumbling noise and ripped off a bite of toast. "I mean, how many times have any of you actually written a letter asking a girl? Not that I expect you to have any trouble of it," he said, rolling his eyes at Sirius. "Or you," he said, glancing at James. "Perhaps Lily will marvel at your writing if you do it a certain way..."

both the guys watched her in her rampage and followed her out of the room. "great job." josh said to peter. then getting up to follow her." hey jessica, wait up." he said trying to catch up to her.

"Five seconds ago you were worried about getting asked, now you won't even answer him!" Blake exclaimed. Poor guy, he knew the feeling. It was hard enough to write a letter, but to be rejected after writing it? It'd be awful.
Charlie shrugged, "Well, now I have a backup plan." Blake gave her a seething look. She rolled her eyes. "I don't know, it's just... I was thinking something a little more... romantic, and this letter was so, well... blunt. I was hoping for a little more love in the love letter." Now Blake rolled his eyes. The guy wrote, could she really ask for more?

"Oh!" James exclaimed realizing Peter was listening, "Yep I'm asking Lily Evans, but I haven't written the letter yet." Then turning to Remus he said, "Surly she'll say yes. I think I'll skip our first lesson and start on writing it. Would you care to join me?" He asked Sirius and Remus.

Turning and seeing Josh had followed her she snapped, "Can you please leave me alone! I'm really not in the mood. I need to get to class, maybe you should do the same." She whipped around a corner and slipped into the doorway of her muggle studies class.

Josh listened to her as she snapped at him , even though he just wanted to help. he watched her go into her classroom with a sigh. he didnt like seeing her this way , he wished he could just write her a letter and make it all better , but honestly he didnt know who he was going to ask. he walked a little bit towards the door and stood in the doorway for a second seeing her still having a hard time. he thought about going in but was afraid of her snapping again. he decided best to leave her alone. he moved away from the doorway and headed back tot he great hall. maybe he could get some daisy's for her, it might help. chicks liked flowers right?

James shoved a piece of toast into his mouth and got up to head back to Gryffindor tower. "I'll be on our dormitory boys, working on my letter. Hopefully you'll join me! Who needs Muggle Studies anyway?" He said jokingly.

josh walked in just in time to hear james offer some help on writting love letters. no offense to his buddy james, but he wasnt quite sure that he could write it any better then he could." i'll take you up on that offer. Muggles studies is over rated . i mean , if i wanted to know more about them i would just go ask my next door neighbor right?" he asked James." where were you this morning? did you sleep in again?" he asked him trying to forget about jessica.

Sirius looked at Remus and shrugged. "Just saying." He said, biting off a half-a sausage and staring at his friend thoughtfully.

Suddenly he crinkled his eyebrows together and made a face. "What do you mean I won't have a problem?" He hadn't thought truely of what Remus had said to him until just then. "It's not like I'm just going to go up to a girl and just bloody ask her because I think she's pretty!" Almost as if he was taking offense to what was said, Sirius shook his head disdainfully.

"Well, anyways, if you need any help writing the letter, I'm sure James is more than willing to help." Somewhat chuckling, he shifted in his seat, pausing thoughtfully. "As a matter-of-fact, I might want to go ask him now..." He said staring after James as he left, but not getting up yet.

"What do you think?" Turning back to look at Remus. "I mean, you know who you'd possibly like to ask at least."

"No!" said Remus, shaking his head at James as he left. He sighed and looked back to Sirius. "I don't believe him... as though Lily would really be impressed with him skipping class to go write these stupid letters..." He ignored the temptation that came from Sirius's phrasing to ask whether Sirius was going to ask James to the ball, and instead took another bite of toast.

He shook his head again slower at Sirius. "No, I didn't mean it like that," he said quickly, always eager to keep any type of spat between he and his friends nonexistant. "I was just saying that, theoretically, if you thought a girl was pretty and wanted to ask her for that reason, you could and she'd be bound to say yes." He shrugged. "I don't know. I'm not even sure who you like. But what I'm saying is, you're quite lucky in the fact that whoever you choose, the worry about whether or not she'll say yes should be non-existant."

Jessyrah practically dove into the crowd of conversing boys at the Gryffindor table, moving Remus over so she could sit down and grab a bit of breakfast. She'd woken up late and Lily, who was slowly joining them with a look of disdain at her antics had stayed behind to wake her up. "Mornin' boys," Jessyrah said cheerfully, grabbing some heavily buttered toast.

Lily walked over to the table in Jessyrah's wake but, instead of sitting with her and the rest of the boys, walked half way down the table and sat with a group of girls."

Someone was being loud, Charlie turned to look at who it was. Sirius and Remus. Go figure, they were always making trouble. Charlie couldn't help but look at Sirius an extra moment longer, he was so handsome! Maybe "Letross" would be too... but who was he?
"Girls are unbelievable." Blake muttered as he watched Charlie look at Sirius. Charlie only rolled her eyes. "It's not like I'm in a relationship, I didn't even say yes." She mumbled back.

James got to his room and then thought better of skipping class. He grabbed his bag and headed back down to find Remus and Sirius. He walked down to the Great Hall where they where still sitting; Jessyrah had join them. "Mornin' Jessyrah!" He exclaimed, then lowering his voice he said, "Thought better of skipping class. Don't think Miss Evan's would be too impressed. Can't think of what to write anyway! Tryin' to make it perfect, but just can't think. I'll start it after lessons.

Jessica sat in Muggle Studies, waiting for class to begin. She was there far too early. Now that her embarrassment and anger had worn off she was left with feeling foolish for snapping at Peter.

Peter sat their thinking of a way to increase his odds of her saying yes. He hoped she didnt think he was a stalker or something. its not like he acutally talked to her , just seen her in class. he got up and walked away. it was ten minutes or later when an even cutter bird came running down the slytherin table, it was even cute when it ran. it stopped right infront of charlotte holding a red rose in its mouth.

Josh walked silently into muggles studdies, he didnt have this class but he really didnt think the teacher would notice he was their. he hoped she was over whatever made her upset. The teacher would know something was wrong if she started yelling. "hey.." he said in a hopeful tone." peter told me to give this to you. he's sorry... we both are." he told her giving her a daisy. peter really didnt say anything but he just wanted her to be in a better mood.

Now a rose came right in front of her. She took it, blushing a bit, and getting up from her seat. It must have been from Letross. She really wished she knew who he was. Sure, now she knew he was sweet, but what if he was a complete loser? Saying yes was harder than it looked.
"Just say yes." Blake told her, but she couldn't do it. Not yet, she had to wait, just a little bit. Blake rolled his eyes and got up. "Come on, we have class."

She looked up at Damien, who was sitting across from her, and tapped his leg under the table with her own heeled foot. "Dai- you alright?" Celia asked as her head tilted slightly to the side. "Is it the ball?"

Astoria looked up from her breakfast as Lily sat down. The girl swallowed her bacon before she gave her friend a large smile. "Hey Lils. Did you sleep well last night?" She looked over her shoulder to the Slytherin table and motioned in his direction with her head as she kept her eyes downcast, her voice soft. "Do you think he will ask either of us?" She didn't need to tell Lily who 'he' was; it was a well known fact that both Lily and Astoria were good friends with the Slytherin. She grinned slightly as she looked through her fringe at Lily.
