The year is 1976, and Dumbledore has just announced a formal ball exclusively for the 6th and 7th years. The twist? The boys must ask the girls to the ball by means of an anonymous letter, and it is the letter alone the girls must use to determine who will be their date.

With rushes of excitement and anxiety, the males of Hogwarts begin to write their letters, and James Potter is confident that by writing the perfect letter, he will be able to make Lily Evans go to the ball with him. However, Lily also receives another letter: one from Severus Snape, hoping that if she chooses his letter, it could lead them into something closer than friendship. In the event that he’s foiled by James yet again, he also writes a letter to Astoria, knowing that she and Remus have had longtime crushes on each other. Having a little crush on Astoria himself, Severus believes that if he can stir up trouble between Tori and Remus, at least one positive thing will result.

Nickname(s): Almost everyone calls her Tori, although there are a few that prefer to call her Artie, Tia and a few other choice names.

POB: Astoria grew up in the Highlands of Scotland, and never wants to leave.

Stats: With piercing blue eyes and long wavy brunette locks, it isn't hard to imagine way some people find Astoria eye-catching. Yet her snow-like complexion and quiet, studious demeanor can make her blend into the crows just as much as her eyes can make her 5'5 body stand out in a crowd.



Appearance: While she is spoilt, she tries not to support and use clothes by brands who publicly use companies in Asia and Africa for cheap labour. So as such, she tries to get clothes that are tailor-made, making her seem snobby - but in this day and age you can't win every battle. She loves to wear a mix of pale and dark colours, and will never be seen in neon or bright colours.

Family: Astoria is an only child, whose parents are both pure-bloods. They are European, but not British. Her mother is of Danish decent, and her father is Scottish. She is spoilt, and although she doesn't flaunt it, she doesn't deny it either.

Personality: Astoria is a kind and open female. She doesn't mind what her friends are into as long as they aren't hurting themselves or others. As such, she can often quarrel with the Marauders (despite going out with one of them), and others in their year for their horrible attitude towards certain students, especially Severus Snape. Although she can be slightly moody after seeing anyone messing with her friends, most of the time she is up for a laugh. However, studies come first, and she loves reading books. Having conversations with her fellow house mates and a few people from other houses who she respects; namely Severus, is also high on her list.

Extra:Astoria doesn't care if the others in her house disapprove of her boyfriend and of her best friends. To her, those that care don't matter; and those that matter don't care. She will pay the extra money for fair-trade goods, and supports a few human-rights campaigns. She is neutral in the muggle debate.
Since she began to "see" Remus unofficially, the time she has been spending with Severus has grown less and less. She tries to keep in contact with him, but lately has found the only time to see him is when they are studying in the library together.

Name: Charlotte (Charlie) Elizabeth Jamison
Age: 17
Background: Charlie was born to Belle and Mathieu Jamison in France. Belle left the family right before Charlie (and her twin brother's) tenth birthday. All she left for Charlie was a ring with an emerald heart on it. She wears the ring on a necklace that she never takes off. Mathieu moved the family to England where the next year Charlie and her brother got accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, both as Slytherins. Charlie rarely speaks to her father, believing it was his fault that Belle left.
Personality: Charlie is pretty outgoing. She has no fear in talking to people, but she also enjoys being quiet. She isn't outright mean to people, but if they're in her way, she has no problems with being mean, but she has a nice side too. She also has no respect for authority. She does as she pleases. If it happens to follow the rules, fine. If it doesn't? Fine as well. She's also a flirt around the boys.
Appearance: Charlie is very pretty, but not in a striking magazine-model type way. She's on the shorter side at 5'1", and not stick thin (not that she's fat either, but at least she's healthy-sized). Charlie has waist-length straight black hair and bright emerald green eyes. Her skin is very fair. On top of the ring she wears around her neck, she also wears a plain silver ring on her right middle finger, though only she knows why.
Name: Blake Ryan Jamison
Age: 17
Background: Also born to Belle and Mathieu Jamison, born three minutes after his twin sister. As to not be too repetative, his mother clearly left also, and he moved as well. He, however, still speaks to his father. His mother left him nothing. Her bond to the family was strictly mother-daughter.
Personality: Blake is a pretty nice guy, but he is an arrogant type. He has no problems telling anyone he is better, and if you're in his way, he will knock you down. Like his sister, he's a big flirt, but he generally has no trouble getting the girls. Even at only 15 years old. He's also a big sports guy, but much more of a bad*ss.
Appearance: Opposite of his sister, Blake is tall- a whole foot taller than Charlie at 6'1". He's also very thin, but not for lack of eating, food is a huge part of him, he loves it. His hair is just as dark as his sister's, but cut short. His eyes are also the same emerald, and his skin the same fair. They couldn't deny each other as siblings if they tried.

Family: Elle's mother died in childbirth, and her father suffered such a heartbreak that he never spoke of her. When she got older, she snuck into his room when he wasn't home and found a tin holding a lock of her mothers hair, her wedding ring, and multiple photographs. She put the box back carefully and never mentioned it to her father.

History: Elvira was one of the 'classic' slytherin children. Her parents blood, but she never felt love for them. Her father is always off at the ministry; he is an unspeakable in the department of mysteries. Elle still doesn't know what her father does, other than make connections with the highest ranked witches and wizards. She grew up getting whatever her little heart desired, as long as her nanny felt that she would be able to handle it. At the age of 8 she recieved her first 'dark' item. A small black handmirror with mysterious engravings around the frame. It enabled her to see whoever she wanted, whenever she wanted; past or present. She still has this mirror today and carriers it with her.

Personality: Elvira is a spoiled young girl who was born with everything. Dashing looks, a well off family, and a dream house where she would live for 2 months a year. She always gives the illusion off grace, whether or not she is graceful. She appears to glide around in her black satin pumps, rather than bounce around like most girls her age. Elle has strong opinions, but generally keeps them to herself, because anything said by her could harm her father. She has a soft laugh that s0unds like delicate windchimes.

History: Jessica doesn't take much after either parent, except for being housed in Gryffindor. She has lived in the wizarding world her whole life, and doesn't have much experience with muggles.
Personality: Jessica keeps to herself and small group of friends because as a child she was always alone. Personality: Jack is very funny, but he has dark humor. He gets on every teacher's nerves, but fellow students usually think it's funny. He is a good wizard, and that's about the only thing that keeps him in the good graces of his teachers; not good enough to keep out of detention though.
