Gawain and a Ravenclaw friend of his both entered the Great Hall a bit late, they were having so much fun catching each other up about what they did in their summer wich was followed by a friendly duel, they both shared the dream of becoming an auror.

The parted ways in front of the Ravenclaw table and Gawain made his way to the Gryffindor house table sitting near his classmates.
"Uhm....Hey everyone."He said deciding that it was too troubling too call all of them by name....Besides his head was still spinning a bit after being hit by a spell during the duel with the Ravenclaw.
"I'm not that late am I."He couldn't tell as whenever he tried looking at his watch, his head started spinning so fast that it was nausiating.

Klaude Siegfriend Nein on the other hand was pacing back and forth in front of the door that allow you to enter the Great Hall, he hated that place, especially on the first day of school.
The insane amount of people inside that room brought out the worst in him, well out of his OCD atleast, he always had so much trouble keeping himself under control there.
With a deep breath he finally entered and almost ran towards the end of the Slytherin table, further along it was atleast a bit more quiet.

He noticed that there already were a few classmates of his sitting where he usually sat.
With a small wave he sat down, while trying to concentrate on a Slytherin house banner, it was calming for him during stressful situatons like these.

Francesca turned to see Jade sitting near her. The Russian had a bed next to her last year. She said, not changing her disinterested expression, "Hello Jade. Have a good summer?"

She suddenly remembered the downside of the Opening Feast, the pleasantries. People whom she rarely spoke to suddenly acted interested in her. But it wouldn't hurt to play their game for a while, she thought to herself. She might even get to know someone. "Hello..." she said, realizing she didn't know this boy's name. "How was your summer?" she recovered, she could catch his name another time. Her attention was focused on the Hufflepuff table now, for no reason other than it was in her line of sight. She idly ran her hand over her head, her hair tightly pulled back into a bun. She quietly tapped her foot, a slight nervous habit she developed over the years.

Theo glanced at Jade with a raised eyebrow, then looked down at himself in mock shock. "I'm in Hufflepuff!" he exclaimed at the color and style of his robes, as though this was a notion that never before crossed his mind. "Thank you for bringing that to my attention," he continued, smiling, "I never could've figured it out without your help."

He then turned to Francesca, a little surprised at what she had said. "That's an interesting observation...but you know the rest of the students will just brush it off as them always having been that way."

Adrienne inclined her head in acknowledgment to Elizabeth. "Elizabeth," she greeted in turn. When she caught her later question, she turned back to the girls with a raised eyebrow and a smirk. "I'd barely call it an argument."

She shot an annoying glance at Theo. In a lower voice so Jade couldn't hear her, she replied, "You shouldn't make fun of her, so was just being polite. Sounds like a foreign concept to you." Was she actually defending someone? Maybe she had grown more than in height this summer. She was surprised by how talkative she was today, it was very uncharacteristic. She tilted her head back and started up at the ceiling of the great hall. It was a cloudless night, every star was visible. The moon was less bright than normal, and appeared much smaller. If she had paid attention in Divination, a course she dropped after her third year, she might know what it "meant." Not that she believed in that rubbish.

"Uhm."He mumbled, his brain still wasn't working correctly and besides that he didn't really know what to say about his summer to someone he barely knew, or didn't knew in this case.
"It was nice, my oldest brother and his wife took me along on their vacation to Spain."He decided to leave it at that, and hoped that no one would notice his unpolite gesture of not asking her how her summer was.....You always got the same answers anyway.

Sieg shortly removed his from the Slytherin banner to look at Alice as he said."No, not really."He decided saying against that it never was a good day for him with his OCD."My......"He trailed off, searching for the right word."Condition intesifies in crowded places like this, and on the first day the Great Hall always seems even more crowded then any other.

Francesca sat in silence, it seemed her conversation with that boy had ended. This is why she detested small talk, it ended, but both parties were still present. She craned her neck over the crowded Great Hall to have a look at the staff table. Students' lives were interesting to observe, but those of the professors could be even more fascinating. But it was impossible to overhear anything at the staff table with the chattering students around.

Theo smiled without much feeling as he rose to his feet, deciding it was about time to go to his own House table. His expression had barely shifted at all, and if anything he just seemed more blasé. "She should be thanking me. Being made fun of builds character." His gaze shifted to Jade, then back to Francesca. He was the same to everyone, no hard feelings meant. "Of course I'm familiar with politeness. It's a tactful excuse for people to lie."

Adrienne nodded to Alice's vague comment. It would be best if they discussed it later. Being caught could be disastrous. "So what teacher are we betting on to begin the speech? I wonder how many lies they expect us to swallow this year," she commented, and then proceeded to lean back in her chair. If she didn't learn to watch her mouth sooner or later she would end up dead.

It took Jade several seconds to realized that she was being made fun of. English sarcasm was still not a very strong point of hers and, had Francesca not defended her, she might not have known it at all. She glanced at Francesca gratefully before turning her attention back to the boy sitting across from them. Her eyes narrowed dangerously as she wondered where this boy got the nerve to be so rude to someone he didn't even know.

"Being treated politely is building character, too," she hissed through gritted teeth. "Sarcasm is vat you get from putting the truth on beckvards and calling it a feshion statement, she added menacingly.
