Ron glared at Harry as he entered the dorm and rolled over to face the other way. "Sod off." He knew Harry wouldn't but it felt good to be mad at him right now. He listened to what Harry said and rolled back over, "Yea, well it didn't look like that when I came in. It looked like you were.... Even if I believe that all you were doing was talking, which I don't. She doesn't need to know." Ron's anger subsided a bit. "She'll...she'll only worry."

"Ron, she's not a baby!" Harry yelled, suddenly angry. "Look at her! She is a grown woman almost. If she asks me a question, I'm going to answer it. I didn't tell her everything, but it's MY problem and I will tell whoever I please!" Harry took a deep breath, "And futhermore, since she is a grown woman nearly, her INNOCENTLY falling asleep on the couch with me in NOT A BIG DEAL. God do you even know what we could be out doing that we're not? You don't know how good you've got it, her being with me. I'm the only guy in this WHOLE SODDING CASTLE that will take care of her the right way RON!"

Ginny awoke with a jump when she heard the yelling, she looked up to see Ron storming towards them, ranting about the fact that she and Harry had fallen asleep on the sofa together. Ginny sighed, she had really hoped that Ron wasn't going to take this whole protective thing too far. She went to get up and race after him and yell at him but Harry told her he'd take care of it. She sat back down with a pout and crossed her arms across her chest. She'd get Ron back for being so over-protective, it was just getting ridiculous now. Ginny decided to wait and see if Harry would come back down and tell her what happened with Ron and so she snuggled up in the sofa again.

Hermoine could here shouts from the door leading from the Head's common room to Gryffindor's common room. She flung open the door to see Harry, Ron and Ginny arguing. "SHUT UP NOW!" she yelled. Her dressing gown was wrapped around her, but the boys had seen her in it before. She took a deep breath, "Now, what the hell is going on?"

ooc: Ginny is down in the common room. Me & Ron are in teh boys' dorm.

Harry looked over at Hermione, "He's giving me a bunch of crap just because me and Ginny fell asleep on the couch together after she was asking a bunch of questions about Voldemort. It would have been wrong to leave her alone RIGHT HERMIONE?"

Hermoine took a deep breath and faced the boys. "Any interruptions other then answering my questions and I will jinx the both of you. Now, Ron true or false: If you could choose any boy for Ginny to be with, the best one is Harry? Harry true or false: Ron is your best mate and his feelings for the two of you should be taken into consideration?

Harry smiled, "Yes, I have told him that's true. But, it wouldn't have been right to leave Ginny alone and make her leave after she had just asked all those questions and was under a lot of stress. True or false Hermione?" He said, turning the question around on her.

"True," she said, "But if you guys were asleep on the couch, then you must have seen her getting tired. Why didn't you send her to bed and promise to answer her questions in the morning. Or why didn't you ask Ron if it was alright to tell her about it, and explain that if he found you asleep together in the morning, that nothing would've happened?"

"No..." Harry explained, "I had already answered her questions and she was very stressed out and scared, so I didn't want to leave her alone or make her go to bed alone," Harry said helplessly. He'd thought Hermione would have understood.

Ron shot up out of his bed and headed toward Harry fists clenched when Hermione ran into the room. It seemed to have a calming effect on him, seeing her there, that is until Harry had started up again and Ron's temper started soaring again and he turned to Harry about to retort when Hermione interrupted stopped him. He looked at her, listening to her question then looked at Harry. It was true. If Ginny was with anybody he'd rather it be with Harry. He looked at the floor and grudgingly mumbled. "True," then looked back up. "But that doesn't mean he needs to go sleeping in the common room with her. I know they didn't do anything but talk but no one else does and that's not what it looked like when I walked in. With first years mind. It's not Harry that's going to get called rude names it'll be Ginny and I'll have to slug the person who does it!"

"Hey!" Harry said defensively. "We can slug them together because no one will talk about Ginny with me standing there."

Hermoine smiled slightly to herself, "Honestly you two are so much like brothers its unbelievable. You guys play like brothers, you talk like brothers, and when you two argue, boy do you do it well. Now I think I know what to do. Ron you need to understand that Harry will never do anything like that to Ginny until they are both ready and even then they will be careful. Harry would never even think about hurting your younger sister, after seven years can't you see that?
Harry, I know you didn't want to send her upstairs, but what you do have to remember is that there was a chance of other people coming into the common room and people can let their minds wander. Ron's a protective brother and I know you have his trust, but you just need to remember that he never wants to see his sister hurt, and will always probably jump to the wrong conclusions at first, unless you calmly explain things to him, not attack straight away." She sighed again, "I must thank you though, for calming me down, I needed to rant at someone as Malfoy wasn't in the common room. I don't actually know where he is. So, are you two going to be friends now?

He looked at his best friend. "Deal. Just...just don't do stuff like that again. I'm all for you and Ginny going out, I just prefer not seeing that aspect of your relationship. It almost gave me a heart attack. Not sure my blood pressure should go up that high." Ron looked at Hermione. He was actually still pretty upset but he didn't want to get Hermione going again.

Harry laughed, "Deal. Hermione's waaaay too good at this kind of this for her own good." With that, Harry went downstairs to wake Ginny. It was early still, but they needed to get to the great hall to get their schedules. It was the first day of classes.

"Thank you," said Hermoine to Harry's departing figure. "You okay now Ron?"

Ron, left alone with Hermione, was surprised and so was at a loss for words. "Umm...yea. Thanks. I think I came close to slugging him at the rate he was going. So...umm..." Ron cleared his throat and smiled.

Meanwhile, Harry was down in the common room, "Gin?" he said, softly nudging her awake. "We need to get ready to get to the Great Hall for breakfast... We have to get our schedules for classes."

"If you had I would've hexed you and you know it, now come on, we better join Harry and Ginny. You've got to apologise to your sister." She said giggling at Ron's loss for words, she headed down the dormitory stairs, waiting for Ron to follow her.

Harry heard Hermione's voice at the top of the stairs. "Ginny, wake up." he said again, softly.

Ron stood staring at Hermione's retreating figure, gathering his courage. "Wait up." He ran up to Hermione before she reached the common room and gave her a hug. "Thanks again. Without you I'm not sure Harry and I would survive the week." He let go of her and headed down the stairs in front of her looking over her shoulder he gave her a smile. He walked over to the couch that Ginny was still lying on. "Listen...Gin...I'm...sorry I overreacted," he said sheepishly.

Harry smiled. First of all, he had apologized to Ginny, which was good. Harry didn't want her to be stressed out on her first day of classes. Second of all, he had been pretty sure that he had seen Ron give Hermione a hug at the bottom of the stairs before coming into the common room.

Hermoine stood there in shock. Ron had just hugged her. Her Ron- well okay not technically her Ron, but maybe one day- had just hugged her! It didn't matter what classes she had today, she'd even face Snape's comments because she was in heaven. When Ron smiled at her, she blushed hoping that her face wasn't easily read. "Ginny wake up or I'll get Crookshanks to come and use your hair as a litter tray."

"Gross." Harry blurted out.

"Yuch." Ron said. "Couldn't use a less revolting threat Hermione?"

"Not when we all know it works. I mean over the summer, he used both yours and Harry's hair as a litter tray, so why shouldn't it work with Ginny's?" Hermoine asked smiling.
