His sea green eyes locked with her earth tone ones. The thing he was most happy about was that it sounded like she wasn't going to make him wait. To be honest, he didn't care if he had to wait, as long as he had her word that they'd be together he'd be fine. This was just icing on the cake for him. Now it was his turn to let his little voice be heard.

Axel placed his hands on her upper arms and squeezed lightly. "Don't listen to everyone else. Who cares what they think? Listen to your heart Em. What is it telling you?" He placed his hand on the left side of his chest, over his heart, as he spoke. "That's what I've always like about Elissa. She never cared what anybody thought. She was unique, never running with the crowd. Maybe that's why Finn was so head over heels for her, I dunno." He paused only to look at her more.

"I'm not sure what you're feeling right now, or if you're even going to tell me, but I do know that I love you. If you wanna wait, I'll wait. If you wanna be gung-ho right now, let's. Whatever you decide, I'll be there," he said sweetly. "Hell, I've been waiting almost eleven years, what's a couple more?" Yeah, that joke didn't go so well in his body. His stomach contorted, but he held the pain in. Dammit, you're in trouble aren't you?

Shaking that awful feeling away, he looked back into her eyes again. "I love you Emmylyne and i have for pretty much my whole life. If I've ever believed in love at first sight, I'm totally backing it up right now. The moment I saw you...I knew. And that was the end of my dating career. I mean, you never saw me with any other girls, did you?" He laughed weakly, but it was completely obvious that he was still amazed that she felt the same way about him.

As Nik called one of the twins in, Chloe couldn't help but laugh. "I guess that's one way." She moved across the room to the closet to grab a bright orange jacket. it clashed with her hair brilliantly, seeing as red was a form of orange.

Jae smiled at Danny. "Of course Dan. Any animal ya can think of, we're goin' to see it today," he said with a smile. He was extremely excited to be going to the zoo. He hadn't gone in quite sometime, seeing as his mother was pregnant. But his dad had promised to bring them as soon as he could get sometime off work. Jae was holding him to his word.

Looking up to one of the twins, Jae's mouth curled into a grin. "I think I can handle it," he chuckled, motioning to Lainie. He grabbed one of her toys off the floor and placed it in front of her. He figured he needed to get better with babies. His face then screwed up slightly as his twilight blue eyes looked to Monica. "You can already tell wha' you're patronus is? Vee couldn't tell until this year, and well...we're just guessin' with Dusty right now," he said with a slight shrug. The only reason he was asking was because Vee was older than Monica so he wasn't exactly sure.

Chloe nodded in agreement. "Tha's a very good point Nikolas," she said with a smile. She absolutely loved working with dragons. Since she was just a little child, much like Jae, she had always read books about dragons. Finally, the little girl's dreams became reality.

She then shrugged. "I don't care. I'm more of a kid person than you though, rememba'?" she laughed, nudging him lightly as she fixed her coat. Her aunt was due in a couple months and she could hardly wait until there were two babies in the family. She was especially excited about the girl. They hadn't had a baby girl in the family in quite some time.

Chloe couldn't help but giggle after she had heard Jae talk. He was quite smart for being only a seven year old.

Monica smiled to Jae. "Yeah, my uncle says it's because I have had to fight for lots of things in my life."

"Ax, I wouldn't call it courage but more so an unbelieveable amount of determination." It reminded her of his football, he was always so determined even when it was just a silly game between abunch of friends. And he had tried to get Elissa to open up for years upon years, it had to be from the last three years of school that Finnegan had managed to atleast get a start. Though even that small, it was amazing. He was the first besides herself to get through to her.

The twenty one year old continued, "Mmm, yes. I suppose it does, then. Hmm?" Truth be told, behind her amusement she did believe he was lucky, very lucky after all that had happened; most of them were.

Raising an eyebrow slightly, her expression changed to become abit surprised. How had he not known- Her question was answered before she could even wonder. Raising a fair hand, Emmy gently let the back of it graze Axels face: stroking his cheek affectionetly for a second before letting her arm fall back to her side. She said nothing, because.. she was uncertain of what to say. And if the young woman opened her mouth again, it was likely that an apology would come out, again.

As the young man started speaking quite excitedly, and rushedly, much like a five year old losing concentration in a mall after seeing a delicious candy shop, Emmylyne wasn't very sure if she would laugh, like she stopped from doing, or check his tempature.

Instead of deciding on either, she allowed him to talk again. His words soaked in like water to a sponge, and he had kissed her. One that caused chills down her spine, her legs to feel weak and for her to feel as the world, and time, had stopped just for that moment.

Giving a weak laugh, Ems shook her head softly. "Actually, I think I might have.."

"At school? Their already doing that at their muggle school, and at home. The only one that can always tell them apart is mum." Nikolas informed.

Admittedly, they did. Just like her cousin, and mother, if he didn't work with her he would have never believed it either. "When we get back, I'll have you stand behind old bety and we'll get a picture. They'll have to believe it then," He said.

Catching Chloe's nod, Nikolas then nodding is agree after Jae, and stepped past Lissy to get to her, but Katie had gotten her first. "Would Emmylyne let you hold her?" He asked, cautiously watching her wearily. Last thing he needed was for Ems to get angry, again. Or for Lainie to get hurt..

Already ahead of her friends thought, Kaitlynnh shoved her own cookie into her mouth and chewed while difficultly picking Lainie up, "I have before." She said, simply.

Julian shook his head, moving Lydia out of the way and had Katie put the baby down. "Nah Katie, just hold one of her hands, I'll hold the other but let her eat that cookie first unless you want to hold the drooly thing." As he spoke, he zipped up his own coal black jacket.

Wrinkling her nose at the pink kangaroo kiss on the nose, Lainie shook her head, no. Though, did accept the soft peanut butter cookie, glady. As she sucked on hers and chewed lightly with the two teeth she already had, and her gums. Her older uncle managed to find and get her pink and white coat on, along with the matching hat.

Axel nodded and smiled widely. "And that's why Finn is one of my favorite people in the world. You're right. He's very determinated. Obviously though since that letter we got from him. Can't wait for the wedding." He hadn't gone to a wedding in quite some time. He even wondered whether he had missed any of them, on his mom's side, when he had been on hiatus for four years.

"Definitely. And I couldn't be happier. That means Vee and Dusty are luckier as well. And well, I'm beginning to realize exactly how much I need the both of them. They're pretty much my world." Yeah, them and her. Every time he thought about his siblings, he was always reminded of who his parents used to be. Especially before they had to change their name. He wondered if they were different than they were when he had known them. It boggled his mind.

As her hand touched his face, Axel closed his eyes as a chill went up and down his spine. After she dropped her hand he took it gently in his own and rubbed the top of it with his thumb. It was absolutely impossible to tell exactly how happy he was only because it was so great. Yes, this is what he has been waiting for, if only it was under different circumstances though.

Their kiss had ended and now he found that his arms were wrapped protectively around her waist. "Oh do you?" he chuckled a bit weakly. He played with a stray curl on her head as he looked into her earth toned eyes. "I love you. If I could say it...all the time I would. But you know, people might start to stare," he laughed.

"What do you say we go downstairs and take the kiddies to the zoo? I know they must be chompin' at the bit," he nodded. I think you got whatever you could have outta that conversation, huh? Maybe you could have gone a bit deeper? Shut up. Let me be happy. It's time.

Chloe's honey colored eyes looked from the twins then back to Nik. "Well I'd hope their motha' could tell 'em apart," she chuckled. "Their teacha's, well, tha's anotha' story." Again, thank the lord for different sex twins.

"Oh we should definitely do tha'! Maybe a Christmas card eh?" she laughed. Her mother would sure get a kick out of that. Either that or she'd have a heart attack. She doubted that would happen, but she knew her mom might be a little concerned if she was that close to a dragon.

Jae looked up to Monica, a puzzled look on his small face. "Really? Vee and Dusty went through some stuff as well. Strange. And I thought their stuff was..bad." He shrugged and began to walk to the door. It still baffled him.

Nearing the door, the young boy grabbed the door handle and turned it. Flinging it open, he stepped out onto the front yard. There was still a bit of snow left from the day before, but it was nothing compared to what they had played in. Better for the zoo.

Zipping up her own coat, Chloe too stepped outside and ruffled her cousin's hair. Oh yes, she was extremely glad she had come here. She had needed a vacation, and who better to come with than her good friend and colleague, Nik.

"Neither can I.. It'll be nice to see old friends again, And it'll be nice to see Missus and Mister Molina again too." Emmy hadn't seen Elissa since the day after Lainie was born, she had stayed a day and had to leave again the next. Of course, they had stayed intouch through letters, and everyonce in a while the phone. But, as to there possibly being old school friends there, she was unsure. The young woman didn't know if Eli had an easier time keeping them in contact, and then there was her best friends parents. Such a sweet old couple, they had always welcomed their two adopted daughters friends with welcome arms.

Luck, it seemed, for the loved onces around them had changed just abit. In a good way, for the most part. "I still don't think you know quite how much they really need you, Ax..taking over as their guardian, is much different from being their big brother. You'll have to be their parent- over their friend. No matter what the situation you'll have to take two views, one.. as a parent would, and one as you would normally and balance the them out." She said, in her attempt at preparing him. Even if it hadn't come out so much as encouragement, it was meant as it.

Emmylyne and Axel were both the oldest born in their families. The only difference was Emmy had many more sibling's, and Axel- cousin's. Since she could remember as just a teenage she had taken it upon herself to be more of a help around the house, with each of her sister's and brother's; for her mother and step-father. And now.. She had taken parshall guardianship of young teenage sister, with her mother's rule's, and had a child of her own.

Letting out a small 'Mmhhmm' She nodded lightly. Staring right back into his sea green eyes, as he played with one of her many curls. Ems nuzzled her nose playfully against his, giggling softly at his remark. "I think you might be right.." She agreed, amusedly.

"That's probably a good idea. I wonder if they've driven Nik mad yet, or rather if Chloe hasn't lost it from all of the little ones, plus Nikolas himself.." She honestly believed her brother could annoy anyone if he wanted to. Because, it was true.

Nikolas chuckled, running a hand over his brown hair while his brownish grey eyes traveled from one little kid to the next. It was a very good thinag their mum could tell the twin girls apart, because he really doubted there was anyone else in the family that could.

"Their teacher's were doomed from the start, Chlo. Always were, and friend's.. and then boy's when they get even older.. oh man, I'll label them." Not surprisingly, there was no hint of sarcasm in his tone. Because, he was being serious.

"Yep, then it's a plan. We'll catch old bets on a good day, and get afew pictures in." He said, then added mock jokingly: "'Merry christmas mum!' 'Ahhhhhh!'"

Resisting a smirk, Nikolas turned his attention from Chloe to Teresa. "Yeah, muggle zoo. We've no idea where the closes magical zoo is, but that's a thought for next time. They'll have..any kind of regular animal you can think of almost,"

After they got outside, and Kaitlynnh helped her twin brother get Lainie down the steps from the porch, she wondered off into the grass much to Juls relief. "Oy, which van is half of us going in?" He called, motioning with his free hand that wasn't holding Lainie, to the big grey van then another identical. "And who's driving..?" Julian asked, turning to eye his older brother.

Danny followed after his cousins outside. He couldnt get the smile to wipe off his face. He ran toward the car then ran to the grassy area. He then plopped down onto its surface and looked around at everybody else. Hoping they grown ups would hurry up he began picking at the grass in front of him.

He couldnt wait to tell Benny he went to the zoo! He would go crazy! The excitment was begining to burst inside him as he waited for everybody else to come outside. He then saw Julian and Kaite with Lainie. He wondered over to him and said, "Do you need some help?"

"Oh yeah, I haven't seen them in...four years to be exact. Man, that sounds like a long time when you say it out loud," Axel mused as he rubbed the stubble on his chin. He hadn't gotten to shave lately and it was definitely showing, but he looked sort of handsome with a bit of hair on his face.

He hadn't even thought about the parents of his closest friends. Especially his father's sister, also known as Finn's mom, Clodagh. She had been so worried about him that when he got out of St. Mungo's she insisted that he come to stay with her. She had definitely nursed him back to health. Without her he would probably still be moping around in pain; both physically and mentally.

At her next word, he nodded a bit sheepishly. 'I never really thought about it until now. I figured we'd be like..three orphans trying to make it on our own. But now I have to be the provider? I have to..go through all of the fatherly things when Vee comes home with her first boyfriend. And when Dusty...who the hell knows what that kid's gonna bring home," he chuckled lightly at the last sentence. "And don't think I haven't thought about Valencia's boyfriend. Dusty made sure to tell me all about him. I'm very eager to meeting this said Eric." He clenched his jaw slightly. He was much more protective of his little sister, even though she was not that far behind him in age. The last thing he wanted was for her to be hurt, again.

"Erm...you'll help me...won't you?" Axel asked a bit sheepishly. "I mean, Valencia will need someone to talk to about all of the...girly things, you know? And I know Finn will help me with Dusty. I seriously have no idea what that kid will be like when he gets older. It still baffles me that he's not more...scarred, especially after everything that happened to us. He had only just turned twelve when our parents were..." Yeah, he didn't have to finish that sentence for her to know what he meant.

"At least I know you love me in return. I feel...very...full now." He spoke as if trying to find the right words in his pauses and he thought he nailed it quite well. That's exactly how he felt, especially in his heart. She was the missing piece--more like missing chunk--he had been waiting for.

He then laughed lightly, but it boomed all the same. "If anyone can handle a bunch of little rascals, and Nik for that matter, it's Chloe. She's the oldest cousin on my dad's side and she's still sane...Well...I wouldn't go that far, but you get the gist," he chuckled. It was so easy to be himself in from of her and he enjoyed that feeling very much.

"Alright, let's keep them waiting no longer." Axel took her hand gently and silently led her down the stairs, a smile dancing up his still scarred up face.

Chloe's eyebrows went up as Nik said something about boys. "Keep you're eye out an' make sure they're goin' afta' the righ' twin," she said, placing her right hand on her hip. She had always been extremely protective when it came to her family. She was the oldest cousin on her mom's side and she couldn't be happier about that. She thought she had done quite a nice job at keeping everyone in check. Well, almost everyone. A few people came to mind when she thought about it.

"'The perfect Christmas card'," she said in a sing-song voice as she put her arms up as if trying to imagine a billboard with the name on it. "That'll give me mum a run for her money," she laughed. Her oldest daughter, as tiny as she was, was running around with dragons. Chloe couldn't help but laugh at the thought.

Once outside, Jae picked up a handful of snow and stuck his face in it. Dusty had once told him that snow was 'nature's cotton candy' and of course he had believed him. "This doesn't taste like cotton candy," he said out loud, but to himself. But if Dusty had told him so, then he thought it was true.

Letting the remaining snow drop from his hand, James walked around the front yard. His patience was waning drastically. He kicked the snow as he walked, finally looking up as he spotted Axel and Emmy coming down the stairs through the window. "It's 'bout time you slowpokes!" he yelled to them. Of course, he was obviously joking. By the look on Axel's face, he knew Jae was joking as well.

Teri pouted a little since they weren't going to see any dragons or hippogriffs at the zoo. Hopefully though there would be a lot of other interesting muggle animals. "Is magical zoos very uncommon? If you find a magical zoo no to far away can we go there before the week is over?"She started eating her toast and pumpkin juice thinking about the zoo. Teri hoped that there would be lions, elephants, tigers and different kinds of insects, birds, fish and lizards at the zoo but she didn't really know what to expect. She had never been to a muggle zoo before this. Teri finished the last of her toast and jucie before putting on her winter clothes. Now she was ready to go when ever it was time to leave.

Monica finished her breakfast quietly. Sheglanced at Wyatt's profile and wondered if something was wrong.

Ashleigh did not say a word, she calmly wiped off her daughter's face and fingers. She was not happy at having been corrected by Nik in front of the children.
