Cassidy smirked, "I don't usually waste me time with dating, I don't need standards that way. I just don't think you'd be all that impressive." She said and looked at him, "what are your standards? I'm sure I could match those."

"Tell me why you don't think I would be that impressive and maybe I'll tell you my own standards," said Bryan. "By the way, you don't meet my standards. You definitely don't match them." He smirked. He had probably piqued her curiosity even further with that last remark. But it was true; Cassidy had already failed to meet his standards even if she didn't know it.

Carr was laughing jubilantly against Shane's chest that she had finally pulled her prank after five years of waiting and practicing--and it had worked. She didn't let go of him as she said, "Oh, but you've never had to wait so long to do a prank. And I couldn't have done it without you! By myself I can't Relocate anything bigger than a centaur." She leaned back slightly to look into his face and said, "And don't ask me how I know that."

She went back to her bone-crushing hug and said, "That. Was. Amazing!"

Shane laughed and continued to hug her. "Well, I'm happy I could help," he grinned. "That really was a brilliant prank." He wondered what the Slytherins were doing now. Probably complaining to their Head of House about the mysterious appearance and disappearance of the giant squid.

"I'm proud of you," he said pulling away from her so he could have a look at her face.

She shrugged at his question trying to be nonchalant, her curiosity got the better of her however. "I didn't say I do, but I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to do." Cassidy said looking at Bryan, "come on, please." She said biting her lip. "What if I said that I really thought you would be impressive if you wanted to be?" Cassidy asked him, she wasn't really sure why she liked Bryan as a friend. He would probably drive her crazy one day, she really wanted to know though.

Bryan rolled his eyes at her. "Look, I just know you don't meet my standards," he replied. He paused wondering if he should tell her why. He decided he may as well. "I just don't like the sort of girl who moves from guy to guy the way you do. I think it's a bit fickle. I like a girl who can make up her mind and just stick to one. Granted, you haven't snogged a single bloke this week so far but it's all for a bet, I know that. If it were up to you, you wouldn't be hanging out with me; you'd be with some guy sucking his face off. And that's the sort of thing that makes you unable to meet my own standards. Happy?" He knew he was being brutal, but it was the truth.

Cassidy wasn't exactly sure what to say to that so she said the first thing that came to mind. "How do you know I wouldn't be with you? Do you think the only reason I want to be around you is because I can't snog?" She asked him. Even to her, when she didn't usually care about that kind of thing it sounded bad. Bryan was right though, she may have liked hanging out with him but if it wasn't for the bet she would've snogged someone this week.

"Well, think about it," he said to her. "Before this week how often had we hung out? Sure, we sat together at meal times in the Great Hall. And we have classes together but that's not you choosing to hang out with me. If it were between me and snogging some really cute looking guy, which would you choose? I'm sorry, Cass, but the choice seems obvious to me." He gave her a small smile. He didn't want to hurt her, he just wanted to show her where his reasoning came from. "Do you honestly think if it weren't for the bet you and I would be walking to Hogsmeade at this very moment?"

Carr was so elated and her nerves were so static that she could feel her face turn bright red as her brain fought to remind her that she still needed to breath. She took several deep breaths, trying to calm herself, before Shane pulled her away and looked down at her.

Carr's arms stiffened and the inordinate amounts of adrenaline pumping through her veins demanded that she kiss him, but she managed to stop herself. She didn't feel that way about him (yet) and didn't want to do something stupid just because she was high on happiness.

"What?" she asked, looking up but at him, her face positively glowing.

Cassidy sighed, it was true though, the most time that she spent with a boy who she wasn't kissing was her brother in the holidays. It seemed really sad. "Probably not." She said and looked around the shops as they got to Hogsmede. "Where do you want togo first?"

Shane shrugged still beaming at her. "I don't know," he replied. "I just think that was brilliant. It's a shame you didn't start pranking with Bryan and myself before. I think we'd all be great together. Course I think we'd have ended up getting detentions until we turned thirty." He chuckled as he remember the memory of a professor who had once threatened him with detention even after he left the school.

"Exactly," said Bryan. "I don't want to put you down but that's just one of my own standards. It's nothing against you, Cass, you're a great girl and all. I just don't want a girl who could easily change her mind and decide she doesn't like me and would go for the next bloke instead."

"We can go anywhere you like," he added looking around the streets. They weren't too crowded today but a fair amount of people were still bustling about the streets.

Cassidy nodded but she couldn't help but wonder how many other boys she had gone through that thought the same thing. Trying to shake off this thought Cassidy looked around again. "Can we just go to the Three Broomsticks first?"

"Sure," nodded Bryan. He took her arm and pulled her to the Three Broomsticks and entered it. It was nice and warm inside and surprisingly empty. Then again the busy time had just passed. "Where should we sit?" he asked looking around.

Cassidy shrugged looking around, "lets just sit over here." She said pointing to a table and she looked back at Bryan.

Carr shook her head and said, "One detention and my Muggles would have thrown a fit."

She looked around her a little shiftily before standing up abruptly and yanking Shane to his feet with more force than her small frame should have been able to posess. "Not going to look good if two students in dripping bathin gear are found cohorting next to the Slytherin's chamber window," she said with a grin, running to where she'd left her clothes.

She pulled her pants on, but just draped her shirt over on arm, and popped her fedora on, the sun having mostly dried her pale hair already. "Let's go," she said. "I want to survey the damage."

"My thoughts exactly," grinned Shane. Seeing how the Slytherins had reacted and what they were up was usually the best part of pulling the actual pranks.

He had joined Carr in collecting his clothes. He took his wand and switched his pants and trunks once more and then picked up shirt and pulling it on but leaving it unbuttoned so that his chest was still exposed. "Well, I'm ready," he said to her.

Bryan nodded and sat at the table that Cassidy had pointed at. "Alright, looks good," he said to her. He glanced at her looking rather worried. "You okay?" he asked her taking a seat.

Cassidy sat beside Bryan and nodded, "yeah I'm fine." She said shrugging it off, that wasn't exactly true but she didn't want to show how much his words had effected her. "What do you want then?"

"Oh, come on, I'm arrogant not stupid," said Bryan rolling his eyes. "You're not okay. And I bet it's because of what I said, isn't it? I'm sorry, Cass, I really am. I just thought someone had to tell you the truth eventually."

"I'm glad you said it." She said slightly vaguely but it was still the truth, Cassidy looked down at her nails. "You're right, it's good to know." She said still not looking up. "It just made me wonder how many boys actually really liked me." She said kind of embarrassed. It was pretty odd for Cassidy, she usually acted as if other peoples feelings didn't matter to her.

"Like you like you or just like you?" he asked her. "I mean, I bet plenty of boys like you. But I don't think they would like you enough to date you." He frowned slightly. "But everyone has someone, right? I'm sure you'll find a guy soon. Then again, you're probably not looking, are you?"

"Me? Looking for someone?" She asked looking up at Bryan, usually she would say that would never happen. Cassidy paused for a moment thinking about it, "dunno." She shrugged.

"You don't know?" he asked raising an eyebrow and leaning back in his chair. "How can you not know if you want to be in a relationship or not?"

"I'm not sure." She shrugged, "I just don't know." Cassidy said, "I wouldn't mind having a relationship that could last longer then a day but I can't see that happening any time soon." Cassidy then looked at Bryan, "how about you? Do you want to be in a relationship or are you perfectly happy being single?"

Carr grinned and pulled Shane by his hand back toward the castle. "Bubble-Head diving sure takes a lot of time and calories," she said. "It's almost five and I'm having trouble deciding between checking up on the damage and going straight to dinner," she said, laughing. However, there really was no contest; her first priority was to go to the dungeons and behold her masterpiece.

She pulled Shane behind a tapestry where the stone flight of stairs that led straight down collapsed in on itself and she fell onto her butt and slid all the way down to the bottom where she fell out of another tapestry and into a corridor.

"Well, I'm happy with the way things are now," he replied. "But if I found a nice girl whom I really clicked with, then I wouldn't mind having a relationship either. I just go with the flow, you know? I don't feel the need to ever be in a relationship, but if it comes my way, I wouldn't say no."

Shane went along with Carr and when she led them behind the tapestry, he slid down beside her. "Well, that was fun," he grinned. "I didn't know about that," he said.
